Here's a little embroidery piece* vaguely inspired by the Hungarian Kalocsa style embroidery, and not so vaguely inspired by Dandelion from The Witcher books and the many ways his name has been translated.

We have Buttercups, of course, for Jaskier (Polish), Pasque flower for Kökörcsin (Hungarian), Larkspur for Rittersporn (German), Marigold for Marigold (Czech), and Dandelion (English). Also Cornflowers for his eyes 😅

*I only just started to learn the ins and outs of embroidery, so this has many issues, but I'm still kinda proud of it.

But then, open it up- the wallpaper is an eyesearing red, so vivid in shade that it leaves afterimages. Something you wouldn't be able to see when the laptop was closed unless you used it for violence.

Mystery Gear weapons are designed for being overanalyzed as symbols. This thing represents Zexion. What’s the red wallpaper imply then, huh? Mr. “Intellectual with no room for feelings”?

Today I wanted to just research a little bit about the place I grew up in, because I thought it would be nice to be a little more connected to my roots but I'm from Germany so of course it ended up being depressing. The Park in which I basically spent my child hood is named after an antifascist, which is cool. However, he was executed in 1933 only two months I think after being put into prison and he was only in his 20s. I am pretty sure they even found out way later that he was actually innocent but of course that would have not changed anything. Obviously this is only one of many many tragedies.

I get so frustrated with the current political situation here because people are voting for a party where people say stuff like this. (Basically saying that it's a problem to portrait Hitler as absolutely evil and then trying to backtrack on that but come on, we know what you mean) And it's not like they are a small party anymore! The results of the most recent EU-Election showed that they had the majority in almost half of the country, if I understood it correctly.

Man kann ja sagen, dass kein Mensch komplett gut oder böse ist, aber man muss doch als Politiker wissen, was das impliziert. Ich kann aber verstehen, wenn einem ein Artikel von 2017 nicht aktuell genug ist, also hier.

Ich sag mal, wenn die nächste Wahl ansteht und du aus irgendeinem Grund vorhast die AFD zu wählen, bitte ich dich einmal inne zu halten und an diesen Post zurück zudenken: Ich war vor einiger Zeit spazieren und habe mir einpaar Stoplersteine vor einem Haus angesehen. Die Familie, die in dem Haus wohnte, fiel dem Nationalsozialismus zum Opfer, wenn ich mich recht erinnere kamen sie sogar in ein Konzentrationslager. Unter ihnen ein kleines Mädchen. Ich habe die Daten einmal nachgerechnet und sie war gerade mal vier.

ok alphys was a character ahead of her time and too good for this damn fandom honestly. she isn't some evil gaslighting lying cringey manipulator who only exists as comic relief for the love of god look at her with eyes less poisoned by cynicism and irony. she is a love letter to... well, a lot of things. a love letter to "cringey" people, to video game fans, to people who try to drown their sadness in fiction. she's so achingly relatable to so many of us that it really feels like toby knows his demographic like the back of his hand. we've all met someone like alphys. maybe we are that someone- awkward, nerdy, can't get over their past mistakes, terrible at phone calls, far more eloquent online than in person, only wants to make people like them to distract them from the fact that they don't like themself. normally, this character archetype is the butt of a great deal of jokes- just a gross nerd who needs to touch grass. but alphys is different. she is, as i said, a love letter. she is one of the best-developed and most complex characters in the game. her nerdiness isn't "fixed" or mocked, it's celebrated. her unabashed love for her interests and her 100% attitude is a big reason why undyne loves her. games, especially in 2015 and before, are not often so genuinely kind to characters like alphys! and in deltarune, too- alphys is still a nerd, despite not being nearly as traumatized as her undertale counterpart. her rambling about shows she loves is a constant across all universes, a fundamental and important and good part of who she is.

and i just think that's very kind, and very important.

I'm a mod for one of the Fanology ambassadors who has been doing watch parties on Twitch and the amount of new critters that have been joining the streams for the past three weeks warms my heart.

When I started watching Critical Role there were barely any of us in her chat (like literally just me and her and then maybe a couple other critters here and there), and now there's so many new critters.

It started gradually at first, but it wasn't until TLOVM premiered that we started having a higher flow of critters and for the past few weeks we've been having more and more new people joining out of curiosity for the show.

I don't know, it just warms my heart to see more people enjoying Critical Role. T_T
