Tony's skin tone (MCU)

I know this isn't a topic that comes up often, but I read fanfics and I'm puzzled. Why do many of them describe Tony's skin as olive (yellow or greenish tone) or brown? It's definitely not. So I did a poll to see what people here thought, and here are the results:

Looks like the fandom is undecided. Ok, let's find out. We'll take this for reference:

It is known that tanning acts in one direction - it darkens the skin, so if we see the lightest tone among our samples (Tony in different films, at different ages, etc.) - this is the natural tone.

To determine his natural skin tone, we'll find Tony at his lightest in the MCU (10 years after leaving California) and compare the 2 tones from the chart above: light and medium.

Here he is:

You can see that medium tone is a little darker than Tony's skin. Therefore, his natural tone is light. Both of his parents are also light-skinned.

Now let's take a look at Tony in California and see what shade of tan he has:

It's not dark enough to be medium dark. So when he was a California boy, he had medium skin. Not bronze, not olive.

He was also unevenly tanned - his face and the back of his neck were darker (medium to partially medium dark) than the rest of his body (light to medium). For example:

This is from IM3, he just moved from California to New York. His face is still medium, but torso and arms are light.

Conclusion: Tony's natural skin tone is light. Over 20 years of living in sunny California, it has become darker and acquired a nice medium tone. When he moved to New York, his skin became lighter over time, as expected.

So for our creative people in fan fiction and art (if you need this information, of course) - Tony's skin tone depends on the year and place he lives in in your work. If he left California some time ago and now lives in a less sunny place, his skin will not be tanned, medium, etc. - it will return to its natural light tone.
