the scene in the pilot and Zane's death really get to me. the pilot shows that he was ridiculed for this almost immediately and ruthlessly even though he was thinking about his teammates safety. and Zane's death.. Lloyd.. do you really think its selfish to be willing to do anything to get your friend back, even if it meant giving up you own life??

"Kai is not selfish, he is selfless". That's what my friend once said.

There were often phrases from other characters in the series that poked at Kai's selfish nature (which I've never seen?). Poked at the most unnecessary moment... "First you wanted to be the green ninja, now this. When will you start thinking of something other than yourself?" when Zane died. I'm still sure that Kai thought it would be better to lose him rather than the nindroid, but he was misunderstood. "You're just worried about yourself" when Lloyd almost died, but there were huge risks of losing all of their powers and then the whole of Ninjago. I noticed that all this shit follows him literally the entire series, almost right up to season 2 of dragon rising. It seems to me that only Zane didn't call him selfish (that's why I drew him standing aside with his hands down-). And what did everyone get for it? Kai regularly risked his life to save his teammates. They didn't get a bad response, but only "close the gate, don't worry about me."

Damn, even when Kai felt love and affection from his parents for the first time in many years... The only thing Nya said was, "I bet he loves being treated like a baby." Girl...

I'm sure that words don't go away without a trace. Perhaps they haunt him like some kind of ghosts of those who said this.

I want to talk about it, I want to remind you about it.

First I went with the fanfics specifically with the Lego Ninjago tag, and the results are the following:

Lloyd: 7994 fanfics

Cole: 7969 fanfics

Nya: 7204 fanfics

Okay, so, for now we have a clear winner and loser (Kai and Nya, respectively)

Next, I wanted to see every fanfic in which they have been mentioned, no matter the fandom

Kai: 8805 fanfics

Lloyd: 8342 fanfics

Cole: 8172 fanfics

Jay: 8106 fanfics

Zane: 7470 fanfics

Nya: 7412 fanfics

Again, Kai takes first place while his sister Nya goes last.

Now, for mentions of their tag while excluding the tag 'LEGO Ninjago (Cartoon 2011-2022)'

Lloyd: 348 fanfics

Kai: 233 fanfics

Cole: 203 fanfics

Nya: 208 fanfics

Zane: 177 fanfics

Jay: 174 fanfics

Okay, a drastic change from the previous ones. Taking into account that the top fandom tags in them were either Lego Ninjago the movie or Dragons rising, we can only assume that these writers have started giving more attention to Nya and Zane, or they don't give as much attention to Jay. Also, Kai has been dethroned as the most tagged character and Lloyd has taken his place. Cole, just as his element, stayed steady all throught the podiums

In conclusion, Kai is the most tagged in fanfics when they have the Lego Ninjago series fandom tag, and Nya is the least tagged ninja.

However, when we look outside the fandom tag we can see that the most tagged ninja is Lloyd, and the least tagged ninja is Jay
