Misha will actively go on record saying, ā€œJensen and I would have fucked nasty in the back of the impala, for the sake of canon Destiel of course, in a heartbeat. But the CW is homophonic :/ā€
And we just let him keep saying these things with no consequences.
Then Jensen like a week later is like, ā€œNo we did fuck nasty in the back of the impala, for the sake of canon Destiel of course, they just cut it :/ā€

Sae Niijima is such a good character it drives me insane a little. She's not a mother nor a maternal or doting older sister but instead a twenty four year old who was thrown into a position of responsibility that she never asked for. She loves Makoto just as much as she resents her and its so apparent every time they talk up until November. "Are you studying?" (I want you to do well) (I need you to get a job and stop making my life harder) "I'll use any method necessary to get this promotion" (Life will be easier for us) (So stop distracting me with your problems) "Focus on your future" (I know that you're capable) (I can't afford to waste my time on you, so stop wasting time on others)
Makoto is not only the sole reason she pushes as hard as she does for a promotion, for success, and the reason that she loses herself in her animosity over her fathers death, but also someone she can't stand for so long. Makoto was 14-15 when their father died. Sae was 21. As soon as she got the career she wanted and things started to look up, her stability was robbed from her and she was disillusioned with the system that her father had taught her to rely on and completely adhere to. How do you manage, the daughter of a cop, following his footsteps towards law enforcement, when you're suddenly reminded of how unfair it is? You can't quit, your little sister relies on you and she's so young and struggling just as badly with this grief. So you pick yourself up and you get moving again. You push harder, press further. You abandon your morals and your ethics because punishing criminals (guilty or not) is almost like punishing the man who killed your father.
And the whole time she's fighting for promotions, going for drinks with the SIU Director to make herself more favourable for promotions, trying to navigate being a woman in a competitive, suffocating, male-dominated field, falling behind despite doing so much where others are promoted for doing so little - all the while your little sister comes back from school and her biggest issues are so small compared to yours.
Persona 5 revolves so heavily around grief and loss and change and Sae embodies all of that so well, all of the sharp and unpleasant and jagged parts of grief.

ultimately when it comes to shipping and fandom space treatment of aspec characters i just don't accept "aro/ace people can still date/have sex" as an answer from nonaspecs. like yeah. mhm. okay. now i think we both know that you're not saying that out of real interest in the diversity of aspec experiences. so you can turn in your seventeen-page essay on why and how you plan to examine this character's aspec identity within the context of a romantic or sexual relationship complete with evidence from canon and peer reviews from multiple aspec people within the next week or i'm putting you in the pit from the edgar allen poe story
#you know. the one with the pendulum#'hey. why are you as an allo person shipping this aspec character like this'#'oh aspec people can still date/have sex!'#'yeah. now can you answer the question that i actually asked you'#like goddamn just say you don't care they're aspec and you want to fulfill a sexual/romantic fantasy with them. that's Fine#it like. sucks. for sure. lotta aspec people will be unhappy with you. but everyone is entitled to their own wants and experiences.#but i'd prefer you just be honest with it rather than using our community's conversation points as retroactive justification#and ONCE AGAIN. you guys are real fucking cavalier with this shit and it shows a real fundamental lack of respect for aspecs#when most of you would NEVER ship a canonically gay character with the 'other' gender. cause again. it would suck.#you can do it. nobody's Stopping you. but it would suck.#and we understand that putting a queer character in situations that erase that queerness is shitty! until it comes to aspec characters!#and whoa... there it is again... people don't consider aspec identities to be queer... crazy how it always comes back to that#anyway. you all know what i'm talking about. have seen many posts about this lately#it is [ long sigh ] unfortunately a very hot button issue with the advent lately of alastor hazbinhotel#which. again. god i wish there were other canon aspec characters to be having this conversation about.#but we'll have to do our best with what we have#aromantic#aromanticism#arospec#aroace#talking#aspec#asexual#asexuality

Gentiles will see a post where someone justifies murdering a 4 year old Jewish child for liking Batman under the argument that it is "cop propaganda" and write a paragraph about why Batman isn't cop propaganda instead of why murdering Jewish 4 year olds for any reason is bad.

I truly believe the reason Fabian was so weird about Cathilda being a PERSON outside of being a maid, and having other personality traits and talents outside of cooking and cleaning, is because she teased Fabian a lot when he was a kid. I like to think that she made him believe that all maids were some kind of magical race or species, and that they all looked and acted the same. (The same kinda vibe of telling the kid you’re babysitting that you’re a fairy just to make the job more interesting)
Which is why when Adaine confronts her about it in the van and apologizes on Fabians behalf, Cathilda acts so unbothered by it, completely aware that it’s entirely her own fault and decides not to tell anyone because I like to think she’s a little mischievous like that.

Wait how does falst know to read if he left home at a young age and was ostracized from everywhere he went?
Learned the runic alphabet from his mom before she died, has demonstrated a vested interest in accumulating knowledge and a well-practiced habit of stealing books.

Thank you Cheea for your hard work once again!! I hope you (and the readers of this blog) are doing well <3
And since the ask is open again, without further ado...
When is Alma's birthday? Do they remember it?
Considering they don't remember their name, I doubt they remember their birthday? But assuming they do I'm answering this question just in time because their birthday is 20th July! šŸŽ‚šŸ„³

[Zac] was just trying to tell me to be happy with the win, and I appreciate that about him. Because I can get lost in, just like everybody can, you get lost in the adversity of the season. You can't take winning for granted and I've tried to get better at that.
#important characterization notes#i do agree that they asked wayyyyyyyy too many questions about the outburst (if you can call it that)#and like....one question about the browns lol#but! i did think this was very interesting#because like. all zac was trying to do was be like 'chill out. we won. be happy!' and joe responding#FUCK THAT IT'S FUCKING EMBARRASSING!!! 😔😔😔#is precious to me#this lil perfectionist. never happy with just winning.#even in a season where those have been exceedingly rare#just like the raiders game! (and i do think it was interesting that he said he can let himself have these outbursts#when they have the game in hand. but they should be blowing out their opponents#like the raiders like the titans. but they aren't. but he feels comfortable anyway.)#verrrrrrry interesting#so calculated even when he seems to be 'losing it'#and then to tie it back to joe'marr. because of course. it's me.#thinking back to that ravens post-game insta live that ja'marr had#of joe apologizing for playing like shit (and not focusing on the fact that they. you know. won the division for 2 years in a row)#and ja'marr assures him he's good and all but doesn't tell him to just be happy#he tells him yeah. you did fuck up on some stuff. but you're good. you're good.#i dunno. ja'marr noted joe handler! versus how zac handled it lol#(also joe emphasizing that he didn't want the yelling all the time in your face coach.)#(let's not forget he dealt with that already with urban lol)#and even in this response saying that he appreciated what zac was doing#ANYWAY just rambling at this point#joe burrow#zac taylor#cincinnati bengals

I've seen the last '"g-d made you perfect" that I can handle, and it's led me to a realization about how I think of g-d.
I don't think we were made perfect. We were made human. And, if I'm honest, the only perfection in my mind is g-d, and that sense of perfection is what differentiates humans from g-d. If humans were as perfectly-made as g-d, I for one wouldn't see the point in following, believing, trusting, caring for, or loving g-d.
I guess for me, I see the ways in which humans alter the Way We Were Created that I really don't think it's right to speculate as to if there's a limit to altering our abilities or bodies. For instance, as a trans person, I've definitely been inundated with this idea that because g-d made my body "perfect" that I shouldn't alter it ever, but isn't that a dangerous precedent? Is it really so, that our bodies are magically made perfect, as g-d that to even tamper with the idea of change would be the same as cursing g-d? I really don't think that's compelling.
I love thinking about just how much g-d is placed into people, but I don't think it warrants restricting the ability to learn, create, grow, or change. Thank g-d that He created the ability to change!

I hope the Lighthouse is full of weird looking magical things/artifacts/tools, that are just so old that simply no one knows what they were even made for, a bit like Howl's Moving Castle? Like, imagine there's a running gag or something where Rook and the rest come across a thing and everyone's like "Oh, better not touch that, we don't know what it does" and then they make a really big deal of how no one's allowed to ever touch. that. thing.
And then later on Rook has another Fade Call with Solas and they have this very serious conversation, when Rook just casually interjects "Oh yeah btw, what is that thing?" and Solas just sighs and waves it off in passing, super annoyed "Ugh, that's just an ancient elven bottle opener. Are you even listening to what I'm saying—"

Does no one else find it odd that magic that had been inhibited by the Malleus Key keeps being slowly and quietly returned with seemingly no changes to the key itself? Is the Solstice still stuck or is it simply progressing very slowly? Is anyone working on this in Exandria? Can we get some answers about this?

Saw a Take earlier today like "Ed stans have only 1 argument and it's accusing everyone who likes Izzy of being problematic" or something to that effect
and it made me think "Nah babe, you're not problematic. You're just wrong."
And then I thought. Huh. Why do I think that?
It's a perfectly respectable thing to read a text in a way it wasn't intended to be read. In fact, "reading against the grain", doing critical readings, shifting perspectives when engaging with a text - all of thee are important skills! You can, and should, do feminist, antiracist, postcolonial, queer, etc readings of texts that were never intended to be read that way. Hell, all fandom (often) is, is doing queer readings! Ask the text uncomfortable questions it doesn't want to answer!
However. It's pretty difficult to do a queer reading when the text already is a queer narrative. The questions you would ask the text if you did a queer reading, or a reading focused on gender roles, or similar things - those are questions the text is already actively exploring.
If you want to do a subversive reading of a text that is already quite subversive - what do you end up with?
"What's the story like from Izzy's perspective?" is a question ofmd deliberately doesn't focus too much on because Izzy's perspective is the default and ofmd wants to challenge that. There's a reason the angry white man is the antagonist in this show, and if you ask "Okay, but could he be right though?" you're missing the point.
Or rather, you're turning everything that's interesting about ofmd back around. You're asking "Okay, but why don't we focus on a white perspective that strictly adheres to oppressive power structures?" of a narrative who already asked itself this question and gave the answer "Because that's been done enough and there are other stories worth telling."
And I think people are aware of that, which is how we end up with completely bizarre takes like "Izzy has the only queer character arc". He hasn't, but he has the only arc that a queer reading can be done on - for everyone else it's text, plain and simple. Refusing to engage with that text in favour of centering Izzy is basically doing a heteronormative reading without being willing to admit it to yourself.
And no, interpreting Izzy as a queer man doesn't change that.
