I was hitting some art block so I felt like drawing some fanart of @abd-illustrates’ Heartless characters!

I realized I never actually watched the final installment of the Concept Corner series, so that’s what I had playing when sketching these. It’s just so fun listening to the brainstorming and cool character connections

The bit where everyone takes Quinni to the zoo is so well done. Right from the start of that but we see how uncomfortable Quinni is, and see why she’s hurting before she says anything. Ca$h notices when her best friend doesn’t seem to.

But yeah, when they invite her to the zoo, she doesn’t seem to want to be there, at no point do they ask what she wants, they just assume she’ll appreciate it even though we know she hates plan changes. As an autistic person, I imagine she’s similar to me with things being sprung on her, so it would make sense that she’s already stressed out. Having someone else make plans for me and then do a surprise thing for my birthday would honestly freak me out no matter how well intentioned.

The whole way around it becomes obvious that they’re doing this to try and make themselves feel better, not Quinni. They say they’re going for her, but they immediately leave her behind at the entrance, running off and chatting. With every exhibit they visit, she’s always the last one to leave which represents very concisely her fear of being left behind.

She even asks at one point what she’s missed and she’s brushed off by Darren, the one person who has always been understanding. It’s not done maliciously but it’s dismissive at best.

She then later expresses her fear of being left, explaining that she hates change and feels that no one is giving her a chance to keep up, and the whole zoo trip represents that so well. It makes sense that no one sees how stressed she is because they’re all so excited about the next thing they just don’t see her.

No bc I mean it when I say I’m mentally ill in the least quirky way possible bc today at work I was stressed out to the point of tears about something and so I absentmindedly took the patient’s form to my doctor boss . And so he takes it and is like come w me and then he takes to his office and gives me a lychee. And I’m like omg I never peeled a lychee before. And he’s like really?? And he pauses what he’s doing to take me to the kitchen and show me how to peel a lychee. The lychee he gave me is still in my backpack . As you can surmise my fatherless heart wasn’t normal about this

Obsessed with the fact that the moment someone that hurts him is ready to change and ready to try and do good, Sonic’s first reaction is “I’ll help you.” Because being good is not easy, especially not on your own, and he would know. So he says to stand on his shoulders and he catches what they drop and he gives them the space they need to fix things and change and he never holds anything they’ve done to him against them, (maybe excluding the times when it’s comedic.) He cheers them on and lifts them up and brings them into his circle and gives them connection if they want it to help support them and help the change stick. i liek how lucanis follows the playbook and recites the perfect lines right up until the almost kiss—saying a cup of coffee tastes like a kiss, “you don’t know how much trouble i can handle yet”, “you like to walk close to the edge”—and then a switch is flicked and he stops the theatrics. bakes a cake to lock a romance, leaves his own party early just to have a cup of coffee in the quiet dark, gets on his knees with tears in his eyes. i like that very much
