Chronic Sonic pt 12

POV ur bestie comes back from like three to five years abroad

1. After that delightful experience in pt 10, Sonic is a lot less quick to drop his inhibitors or actively seek out the emeralds. Since the only thing he really used to do in his free time was run around adventuring and doing battle and he can’t do that like he used to with his inhibitors preventing him from reaching his full speed (Tails is working on it) so there’s not much else for him to do. Sure he could do the routine Tails drew up for him, but doing little exercises feels pretty pointless in the face of everything. (Even if they really do help when done consistently.)

2. Amy’s back! What was she doing? I dunno, spreading joy and love and enhappifying the world, your guess is as good as mine. Tails actually called her to come visit. Sonic hasn’t seen her for a while and she’s the one person that wasn’t around while this whole spiral happened (so he doesn’t subconsciously associate her with any of it.) They’ve kept her mostly up to speed via texting and some occasional short video calls. (Oh and Sonic and Amy are platonic here. Cotton-Candy Duo. Besties!)

3. Shadow helps Tails out in his workshop sometimes.

Ngl they’re not super compatible together since they’re addressing similar things in different ways. Knave is more like… current suppression of what you perceive as negative emotions and qualities that inevitably show anyway and make you feel monstrous, and Chronic Sonic is like after that suppression has already failed and turned inward to self destruction and the fallout of that— This is kinda confusing I’m not the best at explaininghGLKSJDFSD Point is I’m not sure how it’d work because it’s basically already a thing!

Can I just say, with the chronic sonic au pain scale. I've seen a lot of people love it and I am one of those people cuz it has genuinely been useful to me as someone who recently had an old injury cause me problems that leads to my leg being in pain pretty much constantly for the past few months.

I never really knew how to articulate my levels of pain and even though I've seen charts like that before, I, Like Sonic lol, also needed someone to just scratch out the general titles and highlight the descriptions. Now I can actually describe my pain in a concrete way that other people can grasp that isn't just "well I can still walk so it's whatever". Like I will unironically be using this going forward for myself. 10/10 thank you for that.

AYY!! You’re welcome!!! When I first found the pain chart it changed my brain chemistry a little so I’m glad I’m able to spread it a bit. It’s real useful! Pain is hard to scale when you’re used to it!

It’s okay i like your rambles. And you’re p much spot on! Though I think i was intending for him to kinda have a bit of a crush on all of them. If you look at most of the dynamics and squint it can look like that. I had already written the bulk of the Cole parts so it definitely makes it more obvious there, but I liked the scenes so I wanted to leave em even if i wasn’t going in that direction anymore. I too am glad I went the more platonic route it just makes me happier! :3

I might've missed reading this, but i was wondering what the lights on sonic's head and joints are in chronic sonic, since shadow has them too. Are they chaos monitors or markings or something else?

Spot on! For Shadow they’re his markings. For Sonic, they’re chaos monitors! & kinda mobility aids? Tails built em to help with joint pain, headaches, movement and all that!
