The other day when I was in therapy, my therapist asked how old I am and I said 21 and she went "well yes that's the body's age, but how old do you feel" and I was simply flabbergasted. Like she knows about the system and stuff already, but I don't even know how to process or comprehend that question. Like yeah I'm an adult, I guess I'd identify with the body's age, but what does age even mean to me. Like I'm a very nonhuman shape shifter with, and I haven't been the host of this body forever, like I don't even know how I perceive like age outside the construction of the flesh

How do you know if you’re an age regressor/age slider (since I’m an alter in a DID system)?

I’m a newish alter and am still exploring a lot of aspects of myself and I feel really drawn to age regression. The littles in the system don’t really age regress, they just ARE that age, ya know? And I feel like my age might fluctuate. Or maybe I just crave being taken care of gently and with love, since that’s not something I experienced as a child.

So uh. Any advice?

hey, does anyone know if there's a flag or a term or something for a system member who started off as a syskid but aged in real time or became an adult for whatever other reason, so they still have a connection to being a syskid even though they're not one anymore?

a headmate based on dr house from house md? not introject, but a grumpy older man, autism & disability holder/manager & is able to not mask many autism traits the system has (monotone/flat tone, no/limited expression, blunt, doesnt care about social cues or being sociable). also experiences the systems AVPD & misanthropy.

Richard is an older autistic man who does not care nearly as much about sociability, social cues, or masking as the rest of the system. He holds disability for the system, which he helps them manage through medication, physical exercises, and going to medical appointments. If any headmates have a medical phobia, he helps them manage their phobias as well. He is misanthropic, grumpy, and does not have a lot of empathy. Richard also has AVPD, with particular symptoms including a hesitance to contribute to group settings/projects, fear of criticism, and a reluctance to take social risks. AVPD also makes him hypersensitive of whether or not people like him or the rest of the system, and his misanthropy means he is more likely to judge someone as disliking rather than liking him. However, if he runs his observations by other headmates or trusted friends, he can function as a social protector who helps the system correctly identify people who are safe for their disorder.
