wilson saying “I need to do this. for you.” is fucking insane actually. in the same episode where house is deciding whether or not he should commit suicide as a result of wilson’s dying. They are each other’s lines between life and death. humans have a biological instinct to preserve their survival at all costs; house has an addiction that governs his life. but they were willing to forgo all of it for one another, because they couldn’t fathom it being any other way. IM SICK

I’m thinking about how Wasteland, Baby was a call to action and a tongue-and-cheek acceptance of the end of the world. And how Eat Your Young and Unreal Unearth are about the nine circles of Hell, about the afterlife, about the consequences after death. I’m thinking about one album cover being under water and another being buried under earth, about NFWMB “ain’t it like thunder under earth the sound it makes”, about Unreal Unearth and unearthing something, un-burial, about Like Real People Do “what did you bury before those hands pulled me from the earth.”
I’m thinking Eat Your Young, about Kronos’ mythology, about hunger for and to keep power, about gluttony. I’m thinking about Swan Upon Leda, about the lust Zeus had for Leda, about the greed of man over bodies, about who is the sinner. I’m thinking about angels, about their lack of power in Swan Upon Leda “could never belong to angels”, about their fall from grace in the “Unknown” song “I thought you were like an angel/going unknown as any angel/you called me angel.”
I’m thinking about Hozier.

Death to the Mechanisms is so funny cos they're like "we thought we'd tell you one of our grander tales" like babes the plot of the band over this story is that you're in prison for 60 years....

The capital-P Point of Frankenstein is that the creature is a blank slate. Tabula rasa. He's an Adam who was foresworn by his creator with no understanding of the world, and has to slowly, bitterly, painstakingly develop that understanding.
It's a literary choice made as part of the grander allegory that does not need to be interpreted literally by a modern lens. Mary Shelley was writing a fiction and it's not important that it's not how bringing a brain back to life would actually. Y'know. Work.
That being said, there's untapped comedy and horror in a retelling of Frankenstein where the creature does have his previous life's memories.

fake disney remakes by year: snow white, 1937
blanche snow has been bringing a smile and a song to a depressed america since she was a child. gracious to a fault and sweet as pie, she’s adored by her audiences, her co-stars, and her studio alike. even the gossip columnist flo prince, whose pen is as a dagger in the hearts of leading players and studio execs everywhere, can’t help but love her.
but there’s one person who doesn’t appreciate seeing blanche’s face beaming out at her from a magazine or a poster: her stepmother, hildy la verne. once upon a time, hildy was the uncontested queen of the silver screen, but the talkies cramped her over-the-top style, and the studios got tired of hushing up her scandals - like the mysterious death of her last husband.
when blanche is cast in a sound remake of one of hildy’s old films, she hits her breaking point. she doesn’t believe blanche when she swears that she tried to talk the studio out of it, and what was once an ordinary dislike of the girl turns into pure poison.
hildy hires the gangster “doc” diamante to get rid of blanche for good, promising a queen’s ransom for getting the job done. but doc and his fellas aren’t nearly as bad as they’d like people to think they are - and they love blanche’s movies. so it’s not difficult for her to come out the other side with seven new bodyguards and a safe place to hide from her stepmother.
meanwhile, blanche’s disappearance has become the talk of hollywood. flo is convinced that hildy was involved, and he’s determined not to let her get away with it... but she’s proving a lot more dangerous than he thought she was.
feat. rachel zegler as blanche snow, freddy carter as flo prince, jessica chastain as hildy la verne, and steve buscemi as “doc” diamante.
