[4:23 PM] Uchiha Shisui & Itachi A/B/O
This is wild, but you shouldn't be surprised with what I come up with. I couldn't miss this opportunity with these two Uchihas. I'm still so sad about the short amount of screen time we got of Shisui.
Warning: 18+, threesome (two alphas x omega), double knotting, breeding, pregnancy A/B/O Master list
.
[Five months prior]
Shisui picks you up, his strong arms each beneath your knees, spreading you wide. He slides you up and down against his lower abdomen until you sink onto his cock. “Fuck, you’re still so tight even after I’ve stretched you out with four fingers…”
Shisui already made you feel full… you don’t know how you were going to…
Your arms grip deathly around his shoulder, nails digging into his skin to hold on to him in case he dropped you. “Don’t drop me…”
“I got you,” he promised, “you ready, ‘Tachi?”
Your back is instantly warmed with another body. Itachi pressed against your back as Shisui pressed forward, sandwiching you between their bodies.
“Ease in slowly…” Shisui ordered.
“I know,” Itachi answered. You can feel the bulbous head of his cock rubbing at your entrance that was already swallowing Shisui’s monstrous cock. You feel a pair of lips press against your spine, “relax for me, baby, let me in.”
“Give – give me your pheromones…” Seconds later, you were floating higher than clouds on Itachi and Shisui’s pheromones combined.
His fingers spread your pussy lips, and you feel the tip of his cock pushing against Shisui’s to make room so he can enter.
“More,” you don’t know if it was you or Itachi asking.
The moment you feel Itachi’s cock push past the entrance and slide along Shisui’s cock, you arched into Itachi, moaning loudly.
“Good girl,” Itachi purred, “my fucken good girl… taking two alpha cocks at once…”
“Hmm, she is a good girl…” Shisui confirmed, pressing light kisses to your neck. “So good… our good girl… you’re ours…” His hands grip firmly at your ass and slowly lift you before pushing you back down on both cocks. “Slow and easy…”
“You’re our omega, Y/n…” Itachi nips your shoulder. His hand reaches to find your clit with two fingers as he rubs the sensitive nub that he suckled minutes ago. “Ours to fuck… ours to breed…”
“Yes! Yes!” you chanted, rocking your hips. “Please!... Please more… I need more!” Looking down, you can see your lower belly bulging with two distinctive outlines of cocks. The sight was erotic it made you wetter knowing you were taking two alpha cocks at once. “Oh God… you guys are so big… fuck… I love it…”
“You love our cocks plunging inside you?” Shisui teased, “You were so scared seconds ago, but now you’re so brave, taking both our cocks like a good girl?”
Itachi chuckles and grips your jaw, turning so that you face him, “Give us permission to knot you.”
“Hmm, have you had a knot before?” Shisui asked, nipping your collarbone.
“Ye – yes… but just one…”
“Well, we can give you both our knots… fill you up… you can go telling your girlfriends you not only knotted one alpha but two at once…” Shisui’s breath quickened as he fastened his hips, now just holding you in place as the both of them thrust inside you.
Your head buries into Shisui’s neck; the pleasure is sensational. You were close to your second orgasm already.
“Let us,” Itachi growled, his cock seeming to have enlarged inside you. He spread a hand over your belly that’s bulging, “Let us breed this womb.”
You should tell them no, but your body and mouth are saying something else. “Yes! Breed me! Give me your babies!” The thoughts of being full and round with their children and having miniature versions of these men unlocked a desire within you. “Please,” you begged, “I want a baby…”
Shisui chuckles, “Babies?  Or Baby?”
“Can you imagine her pregnant, Shi?” Itachi grunts, thrusting slower but deeper. He was close to his orgasm. “We can take turns breeding her… fill her with our babies.”
“Let’s move to the bed for what’s to come,” Shisui said.
Before you can comprehend it, you’re on the bed, straddling Shisui with Itachi pressed behind you. You push yourself so your weight isn’t squishing Shisui, but he holds you in place. “I don’t want to squish you.”
He chuckles, “Love, you will not squish me at all.” He tugs you until your lips are pressed against his, and you instantly melt into his kiss. Shisui was a magnificent kisser. His kisses are addicting and leave you wanting more.
With your new position, you can rock your hips, starting with a slow pace. Their cocks have expanded, and you could feel them pressing against your cervix, both tips taking turns prodding the entrance for widening.
You groan, it was amazing how your body accepted two cocks and was adjusting to accept two knots.
You wanted this.
You want their knots.
“Oh God…” you moan, rolling your hips faster.
“Turn her now!” Itachi growled, and you’re flipped to the side, with both their assistance, they held your right leg up and began thrusting simultaneously.
Your eyes roll back as your pussy is stimulated and ready. Your cervix opening is welcoming their knots.
“Y/n!” Itachi groaned.
You whimper, pain shooting throughout your body as you feel the first knot take place.
“Ahhh…”
“Oh my… oh my God…” you moan. The second knot has expanded, squeezing with the other knot to lock in place.
“Fuck, Y/n – take it, take our knots!”
.
[Present day]
“She’s severely dehydrated and malnourished,” You hear a faint voice say.  “I’ve given her an IV, and that has seemed to clear her out of the danger zone. However, most importantly, she needs… well… her alphas – as you know, omegas need their mate – mates semen during pregnancy…”
“Yes, doctor, we understand.”
Your eyes shot open, and three men surrounded you: Shisui sitting on the bed to your left, Itachi standing at the end of the bed with his arms crossed, and this unknown person to your right. A doctor?
“Hey,” Shisui smiled, which was enough to warm your heart. He leaned over and brushed your cheek with his knuckles. How are you feeling? “
His touch instantly made you feel much better. You unconsciously reached for his hand and palmed your cheek, leaning into it.
Just like that, the heavy and uneasy feeling you have been feeling since finding out you are pregnant went away.
“A pregnant omega will crave for physical touch of her alpha – alphas… it will help soothe the pregnancy as it progresses.” Still nuzzling Shisui’s palm, you glance at this person. “Fetus can drain mother’s strength; their alpha must provide what she needs.”
“Understood,” both Shisui and Itachi answered, synchronizing.
The rest of their conversation was blocked out as you drifted back to sleep.
.
“Y/n…”
Was it your fingers rubbing in between your legs?
It felt so good…
“Is it good?”
“Yes…” you breathed, your hips bucking against your fingers.
“Look at you fucking yourself on my fingers…”
Your eyes crack open to see Shisui towering over you; his hand is between your spread legs. His fingers slowly stroking in and out of your pussy.
“Keep going… take whatever you need, baby,” he leans down and brushes a faint kiss against your lips. “Tell me what you want, hmm?”
“You,” you whispered, “I need you.” You grip his forearm, “Inside me… please, please, Shisui.”
His fingers slip out of you, and you cry at the loss of his touch. He quickly pulled his sweater off and began undoing his belt buckle.
“Please,” you begged, touching between your legs.
Shisui gripped your wrist, “that’s my job.” He undoes the button of his pants and shoves it along with his boxer briefs down enough to free his aching hard cock. He grabs the back of your knees and pushes them into the bed to spread you wide. He grinds the underside of his cock along your pussy, sliding back and forth until you beg again.
“You want it? Put me inside you,” he growled.
You reached for him, guiding his tip to your entrance for Shisui to thrust home.
“Be gentle,” another voice growled.
“It’s been too long ‘Tachi… I miss this pussy…” Shisui choked with controlled thrusts of his cock. “So good…”
Itachi stood at the side of the bed, watching Shisui slowly fuck you. You reach for him, and he comes to you.
“No more running away,” he ordered softly, kissing you on the lips. His hand trails to the end of your sweater and slips his hand inside until it finds your bra. Pushing your cup out of the way, he finds your nipple, tweaking it with his finger and thumb. “You need us…”
You hummed, agreeing you were a fool to run.
He pulls away and pushes your sweater up, pushing the other cup away so both your breasts jiggled free. “Your breasts have gotten big already.” He palms both tits and massages them. “Are they already making milk?”
“No – not yet…” You’ve noticed the change in size and the color change of your nipple. They’ve gotten darker.
Shisui releases his hold on your legs and grips your hips. “’Tachi, look at this fucken cute bump,” he spread one hand against your belly.
Itachi hums, “I see, I can’t wait for it to get bigger in time.”
The cock inside you twitches, and you squeeze around it, “please, so close…”
“Me too, baby, me too…” Shisui pants, fastening his pace. He rubs your clit, heightening your sensitivity. “Fuck, suck her tits ‘Tachi… she loves it…”
Itachi swoops and latches on a nipple, sucking hard while tugging and tweaking the other side.
“No… no… no!” You moan, it was too much.
“Cum Y/n, cum for us…” Shisui coos.
Your body trembles as your orgasm explodes. Shisui cums seconds later, his cock jerks with each ejaculation. He slips out of you and falls beside you.
“Fuck baby, you milked me dry.”
“It’s my turn,” Itachi declares.
In a split second, you’re shifted over Shisui with the lower half of your body elevated. Itachi makes quick with his zipper and frees his cock, slipping right into you with ease. He pauses, savoring the feeling of being inside you once again.
You braced yourself above Shisui and looked behind your shoulder at Itachi, “Give it to me, Itachi.”
It starts with two painfully slow thrusts before he picks up the pace. The headboard bangs into the wall, along with the squeaks of the bed.
Shisui holds on to your waist, anchoring you in place for Itachi’s hard thrusts. “That’s it, baby, take him just like how you took me too.” He leans to take one of your peak nipples into his mouth, the side that was abandoned by Itachi’s mouth. His whole mouth tries to devour as much as possible, nipping and sucking until your whole breast is red and swollen but satisfied. “Can’t wait for milk to leak… I’ll be sucking these tits all day and night.”
You moan, arching your back. Your second orgasm was already near, Itachi’s cock showed no mercy for your pussy. You squeeze around his cock and earn a sharp slap to your ass.
“Behave, love. I’ll let you cum…” he rubs the stinging pain away before delivering another smack. “Promise us you won’t run away anymore.”
“Promise you won’t leave us… we’re nothing without you…” You look down at Shisui. His voice carried a hint of vulnerability, seeking reassurance from you.
Getting involved with them was not supposed to be permanent, alpha and omega help each other through heat and rut without lifelong commitment. That was what it was supposed to be: you helping two alphas through a rut. Your heat had triggered at the last second, probably from overwhelming pheromones of two alphas. Your common sense went out the door, and when it returned, you were filled with embarrassment and shame remembering the blurred moments of the five days of mind-blowing sex that included multiple knots… twice the amount of knots.
The moment that you could, you fled the scene.
It wasn’t a complex equation – nearly four weeks later, ten pregnancy tests all showed up positive.
It was worth the attempt to take the emergency contraceptive pill five days after the very first knot, but with two alphas, the pill didn’t stand a chance.
As if being pregnant was not challenging enough without your alpha – alphas beside you, you fell into a heap of difficulties from being separated from them.
The soreness coming from your left shoulder was a mark you had completely overlooked. That very same day, you found another one, this time on your right ear. You were marked twice!
The unbearable ache of separation pushed you to your wits’ end.
You arrived at Uchiha Development, and the lady at the guest service desk immediately requested you to follow her to a hidden elevator. You were told it led straight up to Mr. Uchiha Itachi’s office.
The drop in elevation pressure intensified your fatigue, and the moment the elevator doors opened, your eyes met those of your two alphas, their expression a mix of confusion and shock at your unexpected arrival – then you collapsed.
Itachi ceased his thrusts and leaned over your back, “Answer us, Y/n, promise you will never leave our side ever again.”
“I promise!  I promise I won’t leave ever again,” you cried, “I can’t – I can’t leave again… it hurts…”
Shisui shushed you with a kiss, “Enough…” he looked past you, “You heard her Itachi, she promised. Now, make her cum.”
“Please, please, please,” you begged, looking over your shoulder. “Need to cum again… need your cum, Itachi.”
Itachi reaches for your jaw and angles it so he can kiss you. “You’ll receive it,” he promised.
Skin slapping skin echoed louder by the second.
“Harder!” You cried.
Itachi roars, pounding into you.
You cried out, bracing yourself as your second orgasm rips through your body. Itachi’s cock spasms, and he cums, continuing to keep thrusting.
“Take it, it’s all yours love…” Itachi’s soft voice demands. “You have all of me, I am yours…”
“Me too,” Shisui says from below, “I am yours, and you are ours…”
“Ours,” Itachi repeats.
“Yes, yours,” you uttered before you collapsed the upper half of your body on Shisui, snuggling into his neck. “Yours… only yours….”
You were full of their cum you barely felt Itachi slip out.
“Did we make a mess out of her?” Shisui asked with a playful tone.
Brushing his loose bangs back, Itachi smiles, “Yes. Yes, we did.”
.
It should come with a warning that an omega can be disoriented during pregnancy if they are separated from their alpha… alphas… for too long.
It took 48 hours of being in the presence of your alphas for you to feel like yourself again.
It is crucial that a newly pregnant omega is always in the presence of her alpha, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. Their body and hormones have become imbalanced. A pregnant omega can feel weakened, shaken, and unsteady if they do not receive the following P3S (Pheromone, Saliva, Scent, and Semen) from their alphas.
In extreme cases, some omega can die if they do not receive P3S from their alphas.
“Well, that explains it…” you muttered, snapping your pregnancy book shut. If you had read this earlier or been educated about omega pregnancy, you could have avoided all the mishaps.
“Ms. Y/L/n?” You, Shisui, and Itachi looked up at the nurse who called your name.  “We’re ready for you.”
“I’ll be fine, just wait for me,” you said to the two men beside you.
“No, we are coming too,” Itachi replied, helping you stand.
You should have known it was futile to deny them.
You can feel the stares of the other pregnant omegas in the lobby, watching you with two alphas.
Yes, they are mine, both of them.
.
“It is good that you sought your – your alphas out before things spiraled out.” The doctor said she looked at your labs and went over the results. “Make sure you continue staying hydrated, more hydrated than usual. Do any of you have any questions?”
Shisui and Itachi both opened their mouth to speak.
“Yes.” They both said simultaneously.
The doctor looked at both of them, waiting to see who would speak first.
“You ask your question, Itachi. I think mine might be the same as yours.”
Itachi nodded and turned his attention to the doctor. “How about sex?”
You gasped and looked at the man to your right. You didn’t need a mirror to know your face was turning pink.
“Yep, that was my question, too,” Shisui laughed, “is sex safe during pregnancy?”
The doctor nodded, not even phased at all about the question. “As a matter of fact, sex during pregnancy does increase tremendously as well as… the intensity and frequency for some mated pairs.”
You shut your eyes, embarrassed. The doctor was describing you.
The 48 hours were nothing but sex, sex, and more sex.
“Sex will help the omega through pregnancy, and it can help with morning sickness, back pain, stress… you name it, sex will help. Some omegas have found that having a nest made helps with the short-term separation.”
“How short is short term?” You blurted. Maybe that was your solution: make a nest so you’re not pouncing at either of your alphas at any chance you got.
“A few hours at most… it depends.”
Shisui rests a hand on your thigh, “Don’t worry, baby, we won’t ever part from you to make you feel uncomfortable.”
“Any other questions?” The doctor waited for our response, “Well, then, should we go get an ultrasound done?”
You guys are guided to a different room with equipment set up.
“Can I have you lift your shirt to your breast, please?”
You do as you’re told, you had a small visible bump.
As soon as the lubrication was spread around your belly, the tool pressed against your abdomen shifted around until the technician pointed, “Here they are…” She zooms in on the screen, and you’re left wondering what you were really looking at. “So,” she begins, turning to look at you three. “It looks like you guys are going to be busy here…”
“What do you mean?” Shisui asked, concern lacing his tone.
She taps on the screen twice, “We have baby A here and baby B here…”
“Twins?” We all blurted.
“And baby… C, right here.”
“Triplets!” Shisui and Itachi exclaimed.
“Oh God…” you muttered.
.
You were ready for this pregnancy to be over with. You are four weeks away from your due date, and the pregnancy is hammering down on you. You were exhausted and easily agitated as it became uncomfortable for you to do your daily basic things.
It was a challenge to roll out of bed or roll in general. You needed one of your alphas to always help you. It is mind-blowing how large you have become to nourish three babies.
As you near your due date, both Shisui and Itachi have taken a leave of absence to be with you at all times since you denied a private nurse.
You didn’t need them to treat you like you’re a fragile omega.
Though you were…
You cried at just about every ridiculous thing.
Your mood switched like the light switch.
You just wanted to be sandwiched in between both your alphas, intimate or not. You needed them beside you at all times, and you hated how clingy you’d become.
You pray it’s all due to the pregnancy hormones.
“I’m ready for you guys to come out,” you say to your unborn babies. They have been shifting around in the womb like it’s a jungle gym. Your skin rippled with their movements.
“Not yet, you still have four weeks left.” Itachi rubs your belly, which calms the babies instantly. Some nights, when you are awakened by their movements in the middle of the night, it’s their dads that can get them to calm down. You have a hunch that these babies were going to be daddies’ babies. “Stay in for as long as possible; we want you all healthy.”
“Technically, I can give birth already… it’s safe,” you counter, pressing your hand on top of his.
“Let’s not encourage them to come out early, please.” Shisui brings over a glass of orange juice for you. Freshly squeezed by the man. “If they’re anything like their daddy Itachi, they’ll come right on time. If they’re like me… they might come a little late…”
You sip your juice, “Well, that’s going to be hard, we can’t have one or two come out while one decides to wait or show up late… they need to hurry up and –“ you gasp, clutching your stomach. “Ow…”
Shisui and Itachi are by your side, “what’s wrong?”
“That didn’t feel like a kick… but I need to pee, help me up?” Both men, each taking your hand, supported you to stand, and all of a sudden, you feel yourself go. “Fuck.”
The sound of a pop and more fluid gushed down your legs. “That was my water…” your sentence was left unfinished as you screamed in pain.
.
You sip your warm tea, watching both your men hold the babies. Itachi had two, one in each arm, and Shisui had one, cooing softly. Two boys and one girl. Neither dads have been able to take their eyes off the babies. You tried to take this time to catch up on some rest and were just happy to be able to get some sleep on your back. Watching them bond with the babies warmed your heart too much for you to even think about sleep.
Weeks ago, you had a conversation with them, who was the biological father of the babies. Both Shisui and Itachi said they didn’t care who the father was; they were both going to father the babies with you.
Your daughter was the first to come out, let out one cry, and immediately calmed down when her daddies spoke, telling her it was okay and that they loved her. If Itachi was a girl, this is what she would look like.
Your sons came out five minutes later, taking their time. They made their entrance with screaming lungs, both heads full of dark curls just like their dad, Shisui.
“Are we too loud?” Itachi asked when he noticed you weren’t sleeping. “We can move the babies to the private waiting area?”
The perk of having a VIP hospital room is that you have an additional connecting room for families to wait and stay overnight in comfort.
“No, I love watching you guys with the babies.”
“Do you want to hold them?” Shisui asked. Funny for him to ask when it clearly looked like he didn’t want to be separated from her.
You shook your head, “I held them for months, I’ll take this opportunity to feel 40lbs lighter.” You spoke too soon, one of your sons in Itachi’s arms screamed at the top of his lungs. Your short-lived freedom ended as you raised your arms out, “Bring him here.”
Itachi and Shisui both stood up and walked towards you, Shisui sat at the end of your bed as Itachi handed the screaming infant to you, bouncing the other sleepy one.
“Okay, okay,” you cooed, pulling your hospital gown to the side so you can nurse. He latched on and suckled hungrily. “Just like your dad…” You eyed Shisui, who grins right back at you.
“And this girl is just like her dad,” Shisui rubs her cheek, “calm and collect like her dad… yet mysterious like her mom…”
As if your other son in Itachi’s arms sensed his separation from his brother, he began to fuss. You reach for him, and Itachi brings him to you as you adjust both babies in your arms and nurse at the same time.
“Save some for your sister,” Shisui calls over, “how do you plan on nursing three babies with only two tits?”
Before you can respond, Itachi calmly adds, “Technically, five… us two included.”
. . .

Obito is the greatest manipulator in Naruto, who not only ✨manipulated✨ Sasuke to join the Akatsuki, but also manipulated half of the fandom to think he is a victim or a "broken hero" and deserves sympathy despite everything. Uchiha clan's massacre? Only Itachi is blamed. Not Obito, who set the foundation of the whole thing with the Kyuubi attack. He also participated in the massacre, but let's not get there, right? Because Itachi should have known better. The angry moralists write metas about how Itachi "gets away easily", but then will never mention how Obito is straight up excused for all his atrocities. That man gets sympathy despite committing the worst atrocities on innocent people and then also justifying it. But guess which character and his fans get hated? Itachi, of course. :) People actually justify the Shinobi world war because Obito tried to change the system. It's so messed up. Lmao.
Is there even a tag with 'anti obito' when we have dedicated blogs to hate and write anti Itachi posts?

ItaNaru ItaNaru ItaNaru ItaNaru ITANARU ITANARU PLSSSSSSS
Itachi shouldn't want it.
He knows it's wrong, that he has no right. To covet another is a privilege a man like him shouldn't be afforded after all he's done, and yet he can't seem to help himself. It gnaws at him, makes his fingers curl and his teeth ache.
When he first met Naruto Uzumaki, he hadn't thought much of him beyond a faint relief that Sasuke had a teammate who clearly cared for him. His fierce loyalty had been admirable, his tenacity a weight off Itachi's shoulders, because he knew that no matter what happened, Naruto wasn't the type to stop for anything. If Sasuke needed to be brought back, Naruto would be the one to do it.
There'd been a steady assurance in knowing that. There still is, even now. Itachi isn't sure how things turned out this way. If you'd told him a year ago that Sasuke would come find him not to kill him, but to bring him home, he wouldn't have believed you.
Yet here he is. In a village that can't look him in the eye, who shies from his presence anytime he deems to draw near. They fear him. They look at him with hate, and Itachi knows it's the very least he deserves.
They don't want him. Even Sasuke wants nothing to do with him, and Itachi understands why. Itachi having reasons hadn't made it right. He'd been a child, but he'd been a shinobi all the same when he made his choice. Sasuke is well within his rights to never speak to Itachi again if he doesn't want to. As of right now, that seems to be where things are heading.
Under constant ANBU watch, Itachi lives in isolation. There's a sinking feeling that comes with so many hateful eyes on you when you dare step foot outside. The guilt he feels mounts down on him harder and harder, except—
Except for when he's around. Because for some reason, against all odds, Naruto is there. Right when Itachi feels his lowest, he's always, always there.
He's so bright he's blinding. He's loud, stubborn, and unapologetic about it. With hair like gold spun silk and eyes like blue lakes, there is no hesitation in the way he beams up at Itachi anytime they meet. He doesn't seem to think at all before he crowds into his space, enthusiastically babbling about his day and all that had gone on in it.
He lights up when he spots Itachi, like seeing him somehow makes his day that much better. He bounces over, like they're old friends, like Itachi hadn't once sought to capture and kill him. It's bewildering to the point of being paralyzing.
The unspoken strength Naruto exudes is subtle unless you know to look for it. He's sharper than you'd expect, and Itachi feels lost anytime he peers down at him. Naruto has no reason to show him any kindness. As Sasuke's friend and teammate, he shouldn't.
Yet, he does. And the craving Itachi gets for it gets stronger day by day.
It would be so easy to reach out and touch him. It terrifies Itachi to know that Naruto would probably let him. When was the last time anyone wanted to be around Itachi? When was the last time someone smiled at him, free of cruelty? When was the last time someone looked at him and saw something worth caring about?
Itachi doesn't mean to. He really, really doesn't. He's just exhausted. His life has been one tragedy after the other, and he feels helpless in the face of such gentle, devoted kindness. Naruto treats Itachi like he matters, and Itachi's throat goes dry at the mere thought.
"You still haven't come to Ichiraku's with me." Naruto says it like an accusation, his blue eyes narrowed and cheeks puffed with indignation. "I know you're not a fan of walking through the village, and believe me, I get it. But this is ramen we're talking about. It's worth some hate."
Itachi's eyes trace over the bridge of his nose. His fingers twitch with the urge to reach out and cup his jaw. He imagines how big his palms would feel spanning Naruto's waist. How warm he'd be if Itachi let himself get closer. What he'd smell like, what he'd taste like if Itachi dipped down and—
"Apologies." Itachi says a few beats too late to seem natural, his mouth dry. "I'll come with you now, if you wish. I'll even pay."
Naruto looks suspicious, his nose scrunched up. Itachi memorizes the expression with his heart in his throat. He can feel his pulse racing in a way it never has before. Naruto is right there, and he's looking at Itachi like he sees him.
It's silly. It's just a meal he's being invited to, but it's Itachi that Naruto wants to eat with. He's willingly sought him out, and that alone is enough to make something in his chest swell. He doesn't know why Naruto bothers. Itachi isn't worth it.
"You do know I eat a ton, right?" Naruto asked skeptically. "Like, half my body weight levels of a ton. Just so you know what you're signing up for."
Itachi is dangerous. He's never thought himself a good person, and this only seems to solidify that. The tan expanse of Naruto's throat draws his gaze. The easy smile on his face, the familiarity in his voice. When Naruto leans closer into his space, eyes peering up at him expectantly, Itachi's head spins.
It's wrong to feel this, but it's been weeks. Building and building inside him, like water behind a rickety dam. Itachi is as weak in some ways as he is strong, and he can't help it.
"I know." Itachi says, his voice distant in his own ears. "I don't mind. It's no bother."
Itachi wants to swallow the kindness he's being given whole, wants to keep it safe inside him. He feels like an addict aching for another dose, and the mere thought that he could somehow lose this makes him want to grab Naruto and never let go. Naruto has given him something priceless, has somehow found worth in a man who realistically has none.
"It's your wallet's funeral. Believe it." Naruto reached down and grabbed his hand with such ease it made Itachi's breath catch. Their fingers laced. Naruto beamed at him, bright and bold and so, so kind. All for him. "But also, no take backs. Let's go!"
Itachi has always been selfish. He has given immeasurably, but it's always been for his own wants. He can feel something sparking in him. If Naruto gets any closer than he already has, it might just take light.
Itachi wants. And when Naruto scoots his stool closer, their legs bumping, his smile big, oblivious to the way people stare at Itachi in horror, he wonders what might happen if he let himself take.

The Truth- Itachi
Tumblr media
A/N: This is my first time posting something I've written for Naruto. Please let me know what you guys think!! Shoutout to @tired-biscuit for inspiring me at all times. She's a Kiba girly, and her work is fantastic!!
Read on Ao3
The woods were quiet as you walked through the trees. Peaceful.
You wanted to sink into the landscape, to sit among the moss-covered rocks and hide deep among the brush. Unfortunately, your captain refused to let you.
Itachi Uchiha trailed behind you, following like a dog at your heels. “You attacked the client.”
“I subdued the client. There’s a difference.”
“I’m not sure the Hokage will see it that way.”
He seemed so unbothered. His indifferent demeanor only served to stoke the fire of your anger.
You whirled around to face him. “He was selling children!”
Itachi frowned. He continued to study you with those dark red eyes. “I’m aware of that.”
You fought the urge to reach up and snatch him by his smooth, black ponytail. You wondered how severe the punishment for breaking your captain’s nose would be. It would feel so satisfying to land one hit, to wipe that idiotic, blank look off his face.
“You should have held back,” he continued. “We could have handled things differently. The political implications-”
“The longer we waited, the longer those children would have suffered. I ended it.”
Itachi pinched the bridge of his nose. It was the first sign of emotion he had shown since the incident, and the fact that he was expressing annoyance sent you over the edge.
“What if that was Sasuke?!”
He blinked up at you. His eyes took on a different look then, sharp and glinting. You were sure you had angered him, but you didn’t care.
“You have no idea what they’ve been through!”
“But you do.”
He said it so softly, you almost wondered if it was really Itachi you were speaking to. The clipped, clinical tone had disappeared from his voice. It startled you enough that you physically took a step back.
“It’s not a judgement,” he assured you. “I understand your reaction.”
“You do?”
“I know you didn’t want what happened to you to happen to them.”
Your breath caught in your throat. How had he read you so easily?
Itachi pursed his lips thoughtfully, and slid his hands into the pockets of his tac pants. He stared out into the forest for a few quiet moments, before turning back to you.
“You were acting on my orders.”
“What?”
“I asked you to subdue the client once we discovered the nature of his business. Put it in your mission report.”
You nodded weakly, stunned that he was willing to take the fall for your behavior. You had known when you attacked the man that it could have consequences for the Hidden Leaf, and you were more than willing to face them.
Itachi was attempting to protect you, though you weren’t sure why.
Up until now, you had known your captain as a quiet, reserved prodigy. He completed missions with clinical-like precision and didn’t leave room for mistakes. At times, he even came off as harsh and emotionless.
It appeared that there was more to Itachi than you had ever expected. You would never have guessed that he would be willing to lie for you, to put his own leadership at risk of being questioned because of a choice you made.
Before you could stop it, a tear slipped down your cheek. Itachi studied you for a moment. The tomoe of his sharingan spinning lazily in a sea of red. You began to turn away, suddenly self-conscious under the heat of his gaze.
He reached out, fingers hovering inches away from your cheek. You froze on instinct, eyeing him warily, but after a moment, you didn’t pull away.
His calloused thumb brushed across your skin, gently sweeping away the tear.
He pulled away quickly after that, clearing his throat. “I will leave you to your solace.”
But as he walked away, you found yourself wishing he would stay. The simple gesture had been comforting in a way you hadn’t expected. You hadn’t realized how badly you needed it until he touched you.
You watched his black hair disappear into the trees and wondered what had gotten into you. Were you falling for your captain?
Six Years Later
I can’t die here.
The moment you thought the words, you began to doubt your own resolve. All the determination in the world couldn’t save you from severe blood loss.
Sweat was dripping down your brow and sliding down your dirt-streaked cheeks. Your fingers were clenching so tightly around the handle of your kunai that you were afraid you would break it.
This mission had been a disaster from the moment it started. Intel from ROOT reported that your squad was going after one S-rank criminal. When you found the target, he turned out to be leading an entire group of rogue Hidden Rain shinobi. Things went downhill from there.
You were currently bleeding out as you hid behind a tree, slashed through from what had to be three different blades. Your team managed to take out most of their party, but the original target and the last of his men were somewhere in the woods, hunting you.
You tucked a paper bomb into your flak vest, knowing that if the enemy happened upon you, you could still take them out and finish the mission.
Panic suddenly filled your chest at the thought. What would happen to Sasuke if you died on this mission? There would be no one left to care for him. He would be completely alone.
A twig snapping to your left caused your head to whip around. A hulking, blue-skinned figure peered down at you. He was dressed in a billowing dark robe embroidered with red clouds, and he carried an enormous, bandage-wrapped sword on his back. Even stranger were the deep slits on his cheeks, almost like gills on a fish.
He was so bizarre looking that you wondered if you were already dead. Was he some strange creature here to lead you into the afterlife?
“Hey, Itachi,” he called. “This one’s still alive.”
Itachi?
“Another Rain ninja?”
You tried to sit up, but only ended up slumping back against the rough bark of the tree. Another figure appeared next to the blue man. You stared at him, stunned, and decided that, yes, you were probably already dead.
Itachi Uchiha was looming over you, wearing an outfit identical to the other man’s. Though you hadn’t seen him in years, you would never forget his face, or the feel of his lips against yours. He didn’t seem to share your recognition. He stared down at you, his face devoid of all emotion.
“This one’s from the Hidden Leaf. Do you recognize her?”
“No.”
All you could do was blink up at him, still dazed from your injuries and completely mystified.
“Hm. Think we should put her out of her misery?”
“I wouldn’t bother. She doesn’t look like she’ll last very long anyway.”
He turned away, looking bored, and the strange man followed with a shrug.
You let your head fall back as they began to trudge off into the trees, and wondered what was happening. Did this mean that the Hidden Rain ninja were dead as well? Had Itachi and that strange man killed them?
You lifted a hand to your injured side, sucking in a sharp breath as hot, wet blood oozed through your fingers. Even if your enemies were gone, you doubted you would survive your wounds much longer. Itachi, or the ghost of him that you had conjured in your mind, had been right.
The kunai slipped from your fingers and fell to the dirt with a soft thump.
“Sasuke,” you whispered softly. “I’m sorry.”
A hand suddenly clamped over your mouth. Your eyes widened, but before you could make any move to fight, the kunai you had dropped was placed at your throat.
“Be very still,” someone murmured in your ear.
You went rigid. The voice was male, calm, and somehow, familiar. Your quickening breath puffed against the hand at your lips, but you did as your captor instructed.
After a few moments, once he was sure the others were far enough away, the man pulled his hand away. You turned, slowly, only to come face to face with a pair of crimson eyes.
“Itachi?” you choked. Hadn’t you just watched him walk away?
He stared at you, heart pounding, unsure of what to say. Your eyes held a mixture of shock and fear. To you, he was still the killer that had massacred almost everyone in his clan.
What could he say to you, to convince you that he wasn’t an enemy?
Luckily, he didn’t have to think about it too much. Seconds after his name left your lips, your eyes were rolling back into your head. You fell forward, slumping against his chest, out cold.
You were hallucinating.
That was how terrible the pain was. A dreadful burn traveled across your lacerated abdomen, and you could feel the warmth of blood still seeping through the thick fabric of your vest and shirt.
A choked gasp escaped from your lips as you shifted. Even the tiniest movement of your body had you curling in on yourself, wincing.
“Shh,” a voice soothed. “Try not to move.”
A warm hand came up to smooth down your bloody hair. You blinked, gazing up through the haze to see a familiar pair of crimson eyes. They were clouded with worry.
A weak laugh bubbled up from your lips. “Itachi.”
A few strands of his black hair were hanging over your face as he peered down at you. You had the sudden urge to reach up and thread one of them between your fingers, but you were too weak to manage the movement.
Itachi was your biggest regret. He was the wound that would never heal, the unanswered question that turned over and over in your mind when you couldn’t sleep. It made sense that your brain would conjure him up on your deathbed.
As much as you tried to hate him, you could never bring yourself to. Your love for him now was just as strong as it had been before he massacred the Uchiha clan and left Sasuke behind. You weren’t sure what that said about your character, but you supposed it didn’t matter anymore.
“Sasuke,” you gasped, eyes suddenly going wide. “I have to…I can’t…”
“Shh,” Itachi murmured again. “You will make it back to Sasuke.”
His voice was so soft, so soothing. He sounded sure of his words, and in that moment, you realized just how desperately you missed him. Itachi always held such quiet determination for the things that were important to him. He was patient. Steady.
It was the reason you had fallen for him, after all. Itachi didn’t do grand gestures or showy displays of affection. His love was far more subtle, quiet and gentle, but exactly what you needed.
“I promise you will make it home.”
You nodded sleepily as you stared up at him, trying to fight through the fog of exhaustion washing over you. Itachi’s face began to blur before you, and soon, you couldn’t keep your eyes open any longer. You slipped into unconsciousness, his name still hovering on your lips.
Once he was sure you were under his genjutsu, he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead. You would sleep peacefully now, and he wouldn’t have to worry about you startling if you woke up and found him healing you. He was certain you hadn’t thought he was real earlier, otherwise your reaction would have been a lot different.
He had gotten lucky. You had always been fairly perceptive when it came to his illusions. If you hadn’t lost so much blood, it would have been a lot more difficult to weave one that could affect you.
He set to work, pulling your bloody vest from your body and tossing it onto the floor. He would go through it later and hide all your weapons, just in case you got the jump on him and decided to grab for one.
Then he rolled up your shirt, peeling the blood-crusted fabric from where it had stuck to your wounds. He sucked in a sharp breath. The cuts were deep and still bleeding. He had to stop the hemorrhaging, or it was going to kill you.
Itachi was no medical ninja, but he had seen them heal before, and he could perform the basics. He prayed it would be enough.
When it was over, he sat beside you, gently stroking a hand over your hair. A storm had rolled in shortly after he finished healing you.
Rain was steadily falling across the tin roof, beating out a soothing rhythm. Despite the warmth of the fire he started, there was still a chill inside the cabin.
You shivered on your bedroll, and Itachi grabbed his cloak from where it had been hanging on a broken chair. He spread it over your body like a blanket, hoping it would keep you warm enough. He ached to lay down beside you and wrap his arms around your body, like he used to do on missions when you were younger.
He was closer to you now than he had been in years, and, somehow, that made the longing worse.
Yes, he had watched you from afar over the years, but this was much different. He liked to keep an eye on you and Sasuke, whenever he could manage to sneak back into the village.
If he couldn’t make it there in person, he sent a summons. One of his crows would perch in the Uchiha compound and watch the two of you, always keeping a safe distance.
The last time he checked in, his crow had perched in the windowsill and peered into the kitchen, watching as you ate dinner together.
“How are your lessons with Kakashi-sensei going?”
“They’re fine, I guess.”
“You guess?”
“Half the time he just sits there reading his dumb book.”
Itachi couldn’t help but smile as he watched through the crow’s eyes. He remembered Kakashi’s penchant for erotic literature when he had been his ANBU captain. He was sure you did too.
“A book?” You asked hesitantly. “What does this book look like?”
“Uh, it’s orange. It’s got a red circle with a slash through it on the cover.”
Your lips tightened into a thin line. “I think I’m going to have a little talk with Kakashi-sensei.”
“I’m sure he’d love that.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“He thinks you’re hot.”
The crow watched, head tilted, as you nearly choked on a clump of rice.
“Excuse me?!”
“What?” Sasuke asked haughtily. “I’m not stupid. I see the way he looks at you whenever you pick me up. I don’t know why he doesn’t just ask you out.”
You snorted. “Because that man wouldn’t know intimacy if it hit him in the face.”
“If you went out with him, maybe he would finally teach me something useful.”
“You’d whore me out to your sensei for new jutsu?”
“Well, you’re not teaching me anything…”
“You little brat!” You tossed one of your chopsticks across the table. Sasuke batted it away easily. “You’re doing all the dishes tonight!”
Despite your threat, you and Sasuke ended up doing the dishes together, like usual.
The two of you hovered in front of the sink, him washing and you drying in casual silence.
“Hey, I’ve been thinking,” you told him, as he handed you a dripping plate.“I know I’ve been running a lot of missions lately, but I’m off for the next couple of days. I could teach you a water jutsu.”
His dark eyes brightened. “Really?”
“Yeah. You know, as long as you agree not to trade my virtue for anything Kakashi can teach you.”
“Tch. I’ll think about it. Besides, I doubt you have a virtue anymore.”
You tossed your rag at his head. He rolled his eyes and ripped it off, just as your hand came down to ruffle his hair.
Itachi had dismissed the crow with a pang in his chest, no longer able to bear the brutal ache the sight left him with.
Sometimes, he would stay longer, and watch far past the time Sasuke had gone to bed. His crow would perch on a tree outside your window, peering in as you laid there, tossing and turning in your bed.
Some nights he would watch you bury your face in your pillow and cry.
The pressure of taking care of Sasuke alone weighed on you. Itachi knew it did. You were so young, probably too young to raise a twelve year old boy with the world’s biggest chip on his shoulder. And yet you had taken the challenge without hesitation.
Itachi knew the reason. He knew that you didn’t want Sasuke to grow up the way you did, alone and scared, vulnerable to be harmed by the people who were supposed to be taking care of you.
You had sacrificed a prominent career and any semblance of a social life, all to raise his baby brother and attempt to fix the carnage he had left in his wake.
You hated him. Itachi was sure of that, and he didn’t blame you for it. He knew he would never be able to repay everything you had done for him, for Sasuke.
That was why, when he and Kisame had stumbled across your squad, he couldn’t just leave you to die. They were dispatching the enemy ninja anyway, as a favor for Pain.
He had used a genjutsu on Kisame and sent a shadow clone to continue traveling with his partner, while the real Itachi stayed behind.
You would live, as long as you made it back to the Leaf to be fully healed. He briefly wondered if you would even be able to travel with your injuries.
He supposed he would only be able to tell once you woke, but the thought scared him. He was terrified to face you in a more coherent state. Would you scream at him? Try to fight him? After all, you hadn’t seen his face since the massacre.
Leaving before you even opened your eyes was an option, but Itachi knew how stubborn you were. You were likely to attempt to push past the limits of your injuries and hurt yourself further.
Your breath suddenly hitched in your throat. You were waking up.
Itachi quickly ducked into the farthest, darkest corner of the room.
He watched as you blinked and sat up. Your hands came down to clutch at your aching sides.
You peered around, taking stock of your surroundings. A confused frown was pulling at your lips as you examined the cabin, wondering how you had gotten there.
Suddenly, your gaze flicked toward him. You had sensed his chakra.
“Come out of the corner,” you ordered, scrambling to your feet. “Show me your face.”
He stepped into the light, causing the aging floorboards to creak beneath his feet. The guarded look on your face disappeared. Your mask of composure had completely shattered.
“I-Itachi?” you sputtered.
Dread bloomed in his stomach as he watched horror flash through your eyes. You were afraid of him.
“I-I thought…I thought I was dreaming.”
“I’m as real as you are.”
He stepped forward, longing to reach out and touch you, but you thrust out a hand. “Don’t come any closer!” He frowned, but he didn’t take another step.
“Where are we?” you demanded. “What do you want?”
“Outskirts of fire country. This cabin is abandoned.”
Your fingers twitched to your sides, searching for weapons that Itachi had stripped you of hours ago. He reached into his pocket, fishing out your kunai and un-activated paper bomb.
“Looking for these?”
“You took my weapons.”
“Only so you wouldn’t use them on me.”
You glared. “You didn’t answer my other question.”
One of his dark brows furrowed. “I don’t want anything from you.”
“Then why am I here?”
“You were dying.”
He offered up the answer like it made sense. You gritted your teeth.
“Last I checked, you weren’t in the business of saving people.”
He began to walk forward. You tensed as he came closer, hands curling into fists, but he simply strode past you. He picked up the cloak that had been lying on the floor next to a bedroll. Your bedroll.
You watched, confused, as he wrapped it around himself and headed for the door.
“I stabilized your wounds, but you’ll need to keep an eye on them. You still have to make it back to the village.”
His hands closed around the knob, and the words left your throat before you could think better of it. “Itachi, wait.”
For years, you had thought about all the things you would say or do if you ever saw him again. Now you were realizing that, no matter how carefully you planned it out in your head, reality wasn’t going to be the same.
While a part of you was still burdened with the rage and betrayal his actions caused, indulging in those emotions wasn’t important right now. This could be the only time you would ever get real answers, to change things for the one Uchiha that still had a chance.
He turned, intrigued at the sudden desperation in your voice.
“Please,” you begged. “Sasuke…he’s so young. He’s so lost. I can’t let what happened to you happen to him. I need to know how to stop it.”
Itachi closed his eyes. Every part of him screamed for him to leave, to shunshin out of the cabin and put some distance between you.
“Why would you think I care about Sasuke at all?”
Your breath caught in your throat.
“He was the only one you left alive.”
“So he could one day grow stronger and face me.”
“See, that’s the part that never made sense to me.”
Your voice was shaking as you spoke. You weren’t entirely sure Itachi wouldn’t kill you where you stood, but you needed to say it. Something about what he said to Sasuke on the night of the massacre had never sat right.
“You already knew you were the strongest shinobi of our generation. You already proved that.”
“Perhaps I wanted to prove it to myself.”
“Maybe. But leaving Sasuke alive just so you could face him one day, when his training would take a decade to reach your level…”
“True power and skill take time to achieve. You know this better than anyone.”
“I think you couldn’t do it.”
Sweat began to drip down the back of Itachi’s neck. His fingers tightened around the doorknob.
“I think Sasuke was the one person you couldn’t bring yourself to kill. And I think there’s probably a part of you that still cares for him.”
“Your sentimentality has always been your downfall,” Itachi mused.
“I disagree.” There was an edge to your words. “I’d sooner fall on my own blade than let go of my humanity.”
“And it’s that foolish ideal that will get you killed.”
“You told me once that it was the thing you loved most about me,” you reminded him.
Itachi closed his eyes. It still was.
You took a deep, shaky breath. Itachi briefly wondered if he was still making you nervous, or if your wounds were taking a toll on you.
“For so long, I wondered if there was something I could have done to help you, to change things. I know it’s too late for you, but I will be damned if I let the same thing happen to Sasuke.”
“You care for him that much?”
“Yes, and I’ll do anything. Anything you want. If I have to die to keep Sasuke off the same path, then I will. Just tell me, please.”
Itachi hovered there, saying nothing. For a few moments, there was only the sound of the rain falling against the roof and thunder rumbling in the distance.
“What happened, Itachi? Tell me the truth.”
He thought of all those times he had watched you in the compound, throwing all your effort into raising Sasuke, fighting tooth and nail to give him the love and structure he so desperately craved. He couldn’t forget the image of you breaking down in your bed, finally giving in to the crushing feel of despair when you thought no one could see.
Then, finally, finally, Itachi spoke the words that he thought would never leave his lips. They came pouring out, and he was unable to stop himself.
It was a terrible idea to tell you, to let anyone know his true motivations at all. But he had been alone for so long. He had kept the pain inside for too many years, and it was beginning to destroy him. His body was breaking down from the stress. And now you were here, begging him to tell you the truth, to help prevent Sasuke from following a path of darkness. He had never been able to say no to you, after all. So he sat you down in front of the fire and explained everything.
He told you of the Uchiha coup, how Danzo had threatened Sasuke. How he had finally made the decision to spare his little brother and stave off another great war at the cost of the rest of the clan. It had never been his desire to kill his family, to hurt you and Sasuke so deeply.
“Danzo,” you whispered. “That bastard...”
He nodded. “This secret must stay hidden.”
“But wouldn’t it make sense to come out with everything now?”
“Not while Danzo still lives, and not while the Leaf is still at risk.”
“The Leaf will always be at risk.”
He smiled sadly. “Maybe so. But if I have any sway with the Akatsuki, I will use it. And I have to ensure that Danzo won’t move against Sasuke…or you.”
You nodded, though the thought of him remaining a rogue crushed you. “I understand.”
He leaned forward, cupping your face in his hands and pressing his forehead gently against yours.
“I have never stopped loving you or Sasuke. Not for a moment.”
“Neither have I,” you murmured.
“The way you’ve taken care of him…Y/n, I owe you everything.”
“You know then? You’ve been watching?”
He nodded. “When I can. Sometimes I send a summons.”
“A crow?”
His lips curled up in a smile. Of course you noticed it. You were too perceptive not to, you just never gave any indication that you had.
“So you have seen it then.”
“I was never sure if it was just a normal bird. I thought maybe it was hanging around, waiting for Sasuke to sign a contract.”
He shook his head. “Just me keeping an eye on the two of you. You’ve done an exceptional job.”
Worry clouded your expression as you shook your head. “I don’t know about that. I never know if I’m doing the right thing, if I’m making the right choices…”
You took a deep breath. “I just want him to be at peace.”
Itachi frowned. “He is an Uchiha. That may never be possible.”
“I’ll still fight for it with every breath I take.”
“Then I think you are making the correct choices.”
He brushed his nose against yours, nuzzling the skin.
Your breath caught in your throat at the tender gesture. Itachi still gave you butterflies, even after four years apart. He still sent your heart racing, beating just as fast as it would if you were facing an enemy in battle.
He pressed his lips against yours. He was trying to be gentle, but you could feel an undercurrent of desperation in every kiss.
It was evident in the way his fingers pressed against the small of your back, urging you closer and into his lap. You felt it in the way his tongue intertwined with yours, hot and persistent in a way it never had been before.
You ran your hands down his chest, feeling the taught muscles beneath his shirt. His fingers moved over the base of your scalp, sliding into your blood-crusted hair.
A whimper left your lips as he began to trail kisses along your jawline, then down to the hollow of your throat.
His grip around you tightened, causing you to jolt back at the sharp pain shooting through your side. He released you instantly, jerking his hands away and breathing out an apology.
“It’s okay,” you promised, cupping his cheek.
He shook his head, gently easing you off of his lap. “You’re in no state for this. We shouldn’t aggravate your injuries.”
He was right, but you weren’t happy about it. You desperately wished you weren’t in so much pain. It had been so long since you had been together like this, and there had been no one since Itachi.
He twitched suddenly and a deep frown formed on his face. “What? What is it?”
“My partner has realized I’m gone.”
He received the memories the moment the clone dissipated. It had been walking beside Kisame for a couple of hours when the other man suddenly pulled his massive blade on him.
“What are you doing?” Itachi asked, gazing down at the weapon warily.
Kisame grinned. “You don’t think I’m that stupid, do you? I know you left a clone in your place.”
The clone studied him, eyes dark and stormy. A masterful copy of Itachi’s deadpan expression.
“You went to get your rocks off with that pretty little ninja from the Leaf, didn’t you?”
He was only met with silence. Kisame simply chuckled and lowered the sword.
“Jeez, Itachi. I know this is lonely work, but that girl was half-dead. You’re sicker than I am.”
When he didn’t respond, Kisame simply sighed.
“Just kill her after and hurry back. We’re supposed to be jinchuriki hunting.”
He dispatched the clone with a swipe of the enormous blade, and Itachi knew he was running out of time.
“Will he come back?” you questioned.
He shook his head. “No. He thinks I’m…”
He trailed off, but you understood what he meant from the dark look on his face. You suppressed a shudder, wondering what type of company Itachi was forced to keep by spying on this organization. Probably other S-rank criminals like him, who had done things far more abhorrent.
“Still,” he continued. “I can’t linger. We must get you back to the Leaf.”
“I can make it back alone.”
Itachi reached out to brush his thumb across your cheek “I thought you might insist on that.”
“Itachi-”
“Don’t be foolish,” he urged. “You’re no good to Sasuke if you collapse from exhaustion and die on the path home.”
You sighed. He had a point.
“I’ll take you as close as I can without being spotted.”
You put your bloody vest back on and prepared yourself for the journey. You hardly needed to. Itachi insisted on carrying you on his back the entire way. It took some convincing, but eventually you gave in, knowing you would never be able to make it without stopping.
He was true to his word. After the hours-long journey, he finally stopped about a mile from the village. You had fallen asleep at some point, still suffering from exhaustion, and Itachi had shifted to carrying you in his arms.
When he made it to the woods surrounding Konoha, he gently laid you down into the grass and whispered your name. He shook your face gently, watching with a warm smile as you blinked awake. He had always adored the way you looked when you were freshly woken from sleep, with your hair mussed and dazed, happy eyes that only brightened when they landed on him.
“‘Tachi?” you murmured.
You rose, still weak from your wounds, and leaned against him. He wrapped his arms around you as you buried your face in the crook of his neck. It didn’t feel real having him so close. You were almost convinced it was all a dream.
“When will I see you again?”
“I’m not sure.” He buried his face in your hair, inhaling the scent of you. “But I will be keeping an eye on you and Sasuke.”
He pulled back, cupping your face, and drank in every feature. The look on your face, full of longing and reluctance to leave him, would be forever recorded in perfect detail by his sharingan.
He leaned down and kissed you fervently.
“No matter what happens, always know that I will love you until my last breath.”
He brushed his thumb over your cheek once more and disappeared in a puff of smoke. He was gone before you even got the chance to say the words back.
You hefted your pack onto your back and began the trek into the village.
In truth, it was the longest mile walk of your life. Your wounds had reopened along the way, but you trudged forward anyway, ignoring the brutal burn in your abdomen. By the time you got to the front gate, you were ready to collapse.
You stopped at the hut where the gate guards sat, placing a bloody hand on the counter to steady yourself.
“Y/n?” Izumo gasped.
He exchanged a startled look with Kotetsu, watching in horror as you attempted to slur your name and identification number.
“My…my team…”
You barely got a few syllables out before you crumpled, collapsing into a bloody heap in the dirt. One of them, you weren’t sure which, shouted for the other to call a medic nin. You closed your eyes, drifting into oblivion with the taste of Itachi’s lips still on yours.
You swore you could hear a crow cawing in the distance.
