I feel like theres this modern day narrative that monster high and ever after high were way more revolutionary and diverse than they actually were tbh. Like i respect the headcanons but I genuinely dont think you should be giving Mattel credit in this case. Ever after highs cast came in 'white' and 'ambiguously tan' and it took til the literal death throes of the franchise for them to make a character who was any darker than that. They had darling and apple plausible-deniability cpr/kiss and then entirely ignored the fact this ever happened. Almost every single monster high character from a different country was stereotypical in some capacity. You cannot look me in the eye and tell me the franchise that released Monster Hexchange, a line featuring isi dawndancer, a character named after a fan (who pointed out the barbie wheelchair didnt fit in the dreamhouse) whos a literal internet troll, and a webisode with literal yellow skinned japanese schoolgirls, was a paragon of diversity
