I hate Reddit.

I HATE Reddit.

I don't feel safe there.

I used to use Reddit a lot because the therian and alterhuman communities on there felt welcoming and well informed.

That couldn't be farther from the truth.

As a physical nonhuman/holothere, Reddit is extremely uninformed and quite frankly exclusive. Talk of physical therianthropy immediately gets shut down or passed off as delusion. r/Therian is, in my opinion, toxic as fuck.

There's no doubt in my mind that if I were to post about being a holothere and supporting physical therians, I would be at high risk of being banned. Banned BY MY OWN COMMUNITY. If not, I would get called a delusional zoanthrope. Called delusional BY MY OWN COMMUNITY.

So yeah, fuch Reddit. Fuck r/Therian. Fuck the people who act so high and mighty for ignoring and silencing their own community.

PHYSICAL THERIANS WON'T BE SILENCED. We've always existed, and we'll always continue to exist. We won't let our own community drive us out.

Nonhuman confession: I don't "get" parallel play.

Maybe it's that I just don't psychologically gain as much from being around others like some folks do, human or otherwise. Maybe I am actually allistic lmao. But I see no purpose in sitting in the same room as someone but not interacting with them, when I could just be alone instead, which is a million times preferable anyway because I feel less paranoid and less perceived.

If someone insists I be in the room, why are we not talking or doing something, why would you want me in here for no reason? Idk. This is one mammal or social species thing I just don't get. I've never "parallel played" with another alter/nonhuman though, so maybe it's actually just one human thing I just don't get, and that would be different because communication might be simpler to begin with, but the friend I'm meeting in person soon is still a mammal so 😭

Been meaning to say this for a while, but here's a not so gentle reminder that you don't have to be skinny, white and able bodied to be part of the nonhuman community.

Racism and ableism is sadly rampant in this community and I want this blog to be safe for the beings that feel excluded! Fully prepared to accept my alterhumanity as a symptom of mental illness.

Why?

Because it changes absolutely nothing.

Maybe it's a delusion. Maybe it's a reaction to dissociation. Maybe it's a coping mechanism to hell knows what. Maybe it's the onset of psychosis or related disorders (though I highly doubt it).

But all that doesn't matter, but it's still real to me. It's my experience. It's my identity. It doesn't matter what it's caused by, I still feel how I feel. Just because it's a delusion or disorder to the rest of the world doesn't mean it's not my own personal reality.

At the end of the day, I'm still not human, because that's how I experience my own identity.

I remember seeing so many younger therians say that they were born with their nonhuman identity, mostly in efforts to seem more valid. What was that about?

"You can only be born a therian"

"You can't be a therian because of trauma, you're just a copinglink if it happened after trauma"

"Real therians are born this way"

Like I beg your pardon??? My otherkin identities weren't always there, I'm literally a machine and a building, but those came WAYYY later in my life. I wasn't born as either of those things. It just happened at random, same with me being born as a maned wolf with hoary bat DNA, it just happened. I didn't choose any of that, but it doesn't matter if I did or not, it just happened. Sometimes identity just changes out of nowhere.

Normalize not witch hunting someone for getting their identity wrong..? I thought i had a certain theriotype but ended up being wrong, and then once happily announcing i found its actual label i was accused of lying and then kicked for lying...??????

I also recently got banned for my theriotypes not both being spiritual bc "they cant differ"

Hot take: people who make therian gear (masks, ears, tails and whatnot) should take into account therians/otherkin who don’t just have $300 to throw out on gear. That people’s food for the week, necessities. I understand cost for materials or whatever but this is not accessible or budget friendly. Like ever. $50 should suffice.
