My living situation is making me develop some kind of zoochosis I think.

Physical nonhumans and clinical zoanthropes, how do you deal with it?

I've been wondering if I have some kind of clinical zoanthropy going on as well. I'm not sure, but I've been thinking about it a lot. My shifts as of late are turning into transformations and it's distressing. It usually happens at night when I try to sleep. It pains me that I can't go outside and disappear into the wilderness.

It's probably my body's way of protecting itself when I'm vulnerable, and I know it's some psychological thing, but I'm becoming more and more aware of just how nonhuman I am.

There isn't any humanity in me left.

I'm afraid nobody will understand.

So I know this is going to sound... improbable... but it's been going on for years now - since 2018, in fact. In the worst of my psychosis I believed I was going to transform. Here. On earth. (What a beautiful disaster!) And this... manifested in the form of pain. Bone pain. Particularly in my chin, my jaw, and on the bridge of my nose. I'd liken the pain to a toothache - it's that same sort of stinging pain. I'm properly medicated now, but the pain has not abated. I have this pain almost every day of my life. It comes and goes. Some days it's worse. Some days I think it's over. And - I don't know if it's a hallucination or a somatoform disorder or a conversion disorder or what. I'm not a doctor. And the therapist I talked to about this didn't have an answer, either. It's just... strange. Strange and neverending.

I've been slowly incorporating more animalistic language into my vocabulary and it feels so good.

calling my face my muzzle, my hands are paws, my room is my den, my partner is my mate.

it's euphoric and makes me feel.. I guess more secure in my identity? it's small things like this that really keep my holothere beliefs going.

So I see the alterhuman side of Tumblr is starting to normalize clinical lycanthropy so I js wanted to put this out here

It's not good, it's a delusion, it's just bad this is CLINICAL LYCANTHROPY.

"Losing control" during shifts IS NOT NORMAL.

If you're "losing control" during mental shifts and going into a neighbors yard, killing birds, etc, THAT IS NOT NORMAL. it is NOT. Therianthropy at that point it is a PROBLEM.

If you believe that you are PHYSICALLY an animal or lose control during shifts, that is NOT normal therianthropy.

reminder that letting clinical zoanthropes exist is not "encouraging delusions"

We need a safe space to talk about our experiences. Some of us find comfort in the therian, otherkin, and alterhuman communities because our own community is very small.

It's okay to let people with psychotic disorders talk about their experiences. If you don't like that or it makes you uncomfortable, simply do not interact.

Our disorders don't just go away. We're stuck like this forever, so let us embrace ourselves in peace.
