Nonhuman gender and gendered words

I don't really care if it's weird, but I love calling myself male instead of a man, it's so affirming. After all I'm not a human, so why should I call myself a man? Even words like 'masculine' don't really describe me, because I think that's an inherently anthropomorphizing word.

It's even more affirming for me to be called a stag, bull or a buck.

It's also worth noting that some species affirming things can be gendered in a human society, even if it necessarily isn't to you. For example, I love platform heels - which is probably one of the most feminine things out there for humans - but it's not for me. Heels are one of the most deerlike things I can think of, and they aren't exclusive to female deers. They make my legs feel longer and more slender and stiff, and the sound they make towards the ground reminds me of the sound hooves make. Plus, they make you feel digitigrade. Just thinking about it makes me happy - I'd love to get some custom made ones one day, with the cloven hooves attached. But yeah, it doesn't really matter to me if humans thought of me in a feminine way if they saw me rocking some platform heels, they are affirming to my species, and I know what I am. So who cares?

I'm curious to know if any other nonhumans can relate to this. Are there any animal terms that are both species affirming and gender affirming to you at the same time? And nonbinary creatures, feel free to give your thoughts as well! I guess I'm sort of nonbinary as well, but in a male deer way.

UPDATE 12/21/24: I had to pay half of their bills with the 240 I had, so we're back at $0. ANYTHING HELPS!! I currently have a fursuit head base up for sale that I'm willing to sell for $60 instead of the $75-100 i was thinking of.

the nonhuman urge to get teeth modifications💔 they’re not pointy enough. not sharp enough. not good enough for tearing off massive chunks of meat. i want to smile and for people to see my sharp, menacing fangs glinting in the moonlight. i want them to poke my gums, and when i twist my head and smile, it makes everyone’s guts squirm around like rabid worms. i want to be frightening. more frightening than the dawn after a moonless night. or more beautiful then the moon shining her soft rays down to caress your broken face after a blistering day. not just my teeth, but my claws as well. i have been robbed of my natural beauty, my sharp points and alarming presence in this humanly existence, and i need them back.

Been meaning to say this for a while, but here's a not so gentle reminder that you don't have to be skinny, white and able bodied to be part of the nonhuman community.

from one nonhuman to another - I need help!

hi,

I normally don't make these types of posts, but with my commissions and adopts not doing well, I need as much help as I can get. tl;dr, i need to help pay medical bills/medicine for my partner who cannot do it himself alone. the whole thing is very sensitive and personal so i cant get into it much, but it would literally save his life. my commissions and adopts are always up if anyone is interested, and donations or tips are always welcome. it would mean a lot to us if you could help out considering that i currently can't hold up a job due to my own mental health being too poor to handle it.
