Anyone else wish huddling/cuddling was more normalized with folk outside your partner? With it getting cold outside, I wish nothing more than to be close and huddle with all my loved ones. And not in a romantic sense, but more in a sense where a pack of animals keep close with one another to conserve body heat and make it through the winter.

It’s hard to bring this up to humans. Of course you can get hugs from family and snuggles with a significant other, but anyone outside of that will take it the wrong way. But I’m an animal! I yearn to be touched! I want to cuddle close to my companions and keep them warm! I want to feel connected!

I WANT ALTERHUMAN FRIENDSSSS

Today I went hiking with my boyfriend and his parents and felt INSANELY shifty the entire time. It was great! Only problem is that they wanted to talk the whole time, and while I love chatting with them, the animal brain makes it hard to form words. (I tend to go nonverbal when shifting.)

I decided to leave my phone in the car while we hiked since they all had theirs and we’d be together the whole time. Jokingly, they did ask what I’d do if I get lost, and “jokingly,” I said I’d just howl and they’d howl back, and I’d follow the sound of their calls to make my way to them.

However, when I hike, I would truthfully prefer it if I was able to be on all fours. I love to go caving, and I do so much better when I’m squatted low to the ground and using both my arms and legs to move around. Hiking should be the same! I should be able to climb around and use my whole body to get from one spot to the other. Not just my legs! I could also really benefit from having my tail to help me balance. Human legs make you so… ungraceful.

Realization:

I don't feel dysphoric anymore about not shaving my legs because the gender dysphoria of having hairy legs is outweighed by the species euphoria of having fur.
