any other therians never rly have a desire to wear masks or do quadrobics?

respect to people who do (especially quadrobics, it looks so difficult lol) but it doesn’t feel very appealing to me at all.

i personally feel like my therianthropy is much less outward expression (like aforementioned things) and much more…. laying in bed, completely still, closing my eyes, and feeling a deep, painful yearning for something beyond the human experience.

honestly, with the big wave of people on here talking about doing quadrobics and gear and whatnot, it has me kind of feeling a bit insecure.

like am i not doing enough to “prove” that i’m a therian? should i want to make myself a mask and learn how to run on all fours? should i want to buy a tail i can wear?

I want to come up with something lioness-like for me but can't think of anything rather than muscle training and getting acrylic claw manicure...

Sometimes I lay awake at night hoping that someone will create prosthetic limbs for nonhumans. It’s essentially the same technology as the high tech prosthetics being made, the mad expensive ones at least, that read the nerve signals from the brain.

I need a tail, I need ears, I need paws, I need a snout. Something, anything.

I just need people to look at me and have their first thought be “oh a dog!”

Hope technology gets that high tech in my lifetime, and if it doesn’t I hope future therians have the opportunity.

As someone who probably isn’t alterhuman/otherkin I find those sorts of headcanons super cool and I kick my feet in excitement… anyway I don’t know why I chose a lion for killer.. I just rlly like lions..

I’ve been seeing a lot of tiktoks lately about ‘fake therians choosing their theriotype’

But we shouldn’t jump to conclusions with everyone.

You might see a MLP fan say they’re a pony therian.

You might see a furry who’s theriotype is the same animal as their fursona.

You might see someone with the very common wolf theriotype.

To use myself as an example, you might see an autistic with a special interest of the lion king be a lion therian.

Some see these types of therians and think ‘they’re not a real therian, they just have a favourite animal.’

But to me, my lifelong attachment to lions was the most telling sign that I am one.

Following that post about gender and nonhumanity: being a lion is so important to my transmasculinity. I keep forgetting to touch on this.

When coming out to friends, I symbolized my transness with lions. I've always likened my gender and presentation to not only male lions but also maned lionesses. Sometimes, I even characterize my lion animality through that of a maned lioness; my masculinity is the forefront of my identity, but it cannot be placed within the social categories of "man" and "woman". Instead, those categories are chopped and screwed because of beasts like me.

I fucking love it.

In my previous reply I mentioned maned lionesses. To freshen my knowledge of them I went researching. And I found out some interesting things.

They are much more vocal, like the males. Females roar less. And I roar a LOT. Also my medium-length hair feels especially like a mane when I'm shifted. Marking the territory, roar loudly so others know it is my place, my love for going on long hikes "patrolling territory" - that's pretty much the male lion's "job"... and then learning that maned lionesses do behave like the males. hmm.

Interesting.

The only thing stopping this train of thought is that these females are this masculine due to high testosterone levels, and I, even psychologically, can't relate to all the male-themed genders (I settled with demigirl.) Human male-themed genders. Human. Oh my :|

Hello! We saw your "send me a theriotype and I'll draw it fat" and we were thinking if we could please suggest maybe a lioness? (Perhaps a golden-furred one?) Our host is a lioness, and we are bodily fat, and we think that would be neat to see if you ever do end up drawing it!

(We would also like to ask if the lioness could perhaps be drawn with PCOS, if that is possible, but we're unsure what drawing that would look like- we are bodily intersex and think that would be cool to be represented as well.)

I imagine lioness w/ PCOS sport a slightly scruffier chin & a patchier the average neck; longer fur growing in that can’t quite pass as a mane but works perfectly for decorating and adding a bit of personality. Longer fur around elbows & hips too- giving a special regality to a golden god
