We're back for more wallpapers since we got some new headmates! little ramble on having multiple incongruent types:

being a cheetah is so weird to me because i have never felt connected to them, i have never liked them all that much. i had no specific opinion about them more than i did any other animal.

with dogs, it was so easy. i’ve always loved dogs and wolves, they’re my special interest and i am absolutely obsessed. i acted like a dog as a kid. when i played games i was always a dog or wolf. i barked, made nests, howled, chased people, play wrestled like a dog. so when i learned about therians years ago it was simple to go “yep! that’s me, i’m a canine therian”. like a box easily checked off.

and then recently i started seeing more posts about cheetahs. and even though i’ve never felt a connection to them, i’ve never been drawn to them, i’ve never been interested in them, i looked at pictures and videos of cheetahs and went “yes, that’s me. this is a photo of me. that’s what i am.”

it felt natural. but when i started questioning myself, i was trying to be logical about it. why would i be a cheetah? it doesn’t make sense. i don’t care about cheetahs. i’m a dog. i can’t also be a cat. and i would convince myself that no, i just think cheetahs are cute i guess.

but then every time. i see a photo. “hey, that’s me.”

i looked for a documentary about cheetahs and i watched it to see how i would feel. it was a documentary about someone like me. i feel like a cheetah.

every time i convince myself “no, i cant actually be a cheetah. i’m probably just projecting. i probably would feel the same about any cute animal” but i look at cats all day at work and i’m like,,, no. i look at foxes and im like,, no. those aren’t me. cheetahs and dogs is me.

so yeah. i guess theriotypes and kins don’t always have to make sense :3 and i should trust that i know who i am.

Foxes, like all kinds of foxes! Sometimes, it's more specific, other times, it's just everything

Cheetah, specifically in the way that cheetahs are just really large lesser cats. We're just a large little guy

Angels. Here's where it gets a little more complicated. Angels in Heaven, otherhearted. Fallen Angels, a more personal, spiritual, innate feeling. We identify with all Angels, we see ourselves reflected in them all, but we are a Fallen Angel. If that doesn't make sense, let me know.

There's one other one, I know it. I can feel the empty space, but I can't quite pin down what it is.

Since this blog will mainly be around expressing ourselves, we'll use colours to coordinate with our synaesthesia. If anyone is barred from accessing our content because of the potential inaccessibility, comment and we'll help! We're disabled, so we understand try the struggle of accessibility for different people as much as we can. Anything important will always be in the default colour.

If we get any terms wrong, or anything, feel free to correct us! We aren't technically new to the concept of exploring our nonhuman side, but we are new to the community and the vocabulary used.
