Soooooo, I may have seen something that bee post with like a million notes. I suddenly can't find it, but if you haven't seen it, it basically amounted to "vegans can eat honey. it doesn't hurt the bees. They actually prefer it. They make too much and it means a giant ape protects them from predators and the elements. It's a win win. They could leave at any point but they don't unless their beekeeper is doing a bad job taking care of them. Them staying the closest thing to consent for use of an animal product as you can get."
Obviously, big companies still do things that we shouldn't ignore, but local bee keepers and hobby beekeepers often treat their 20,000-80,000 little pets very well. (Obviously, you should still judge on an individual basis)
Anyway, I may have spent an hour and a half making this:

Looking for a simple way to reduce waste in your life? Try reducing your food waste to start! Yes, bad food can be composted, but for many that's a nuisance, or not easily feasible- and, food you throw out is money in the bin. So here's 5 easy steps to reduce your food waste:
Keep a food journal for 1 week, with two columns. Column A is food you've bought (and the packaging it came in), column B is food you (or someone else) have eaten.
At the end of the week, tally up the difference, and write up everything you had to throw out: the packaging as well as any components you couldn't eat (bones, stalks, seeds, etc).
Assess this list. Next to each item of packaging, figure out if there is a low or zero waste swap. For example, glass milk bottles instead of plastic, loose veggies instead of in those silly bags, whole chicken rather than a bunch of pieces wrapped in too much plastic, bulk bin nuts rather than a lined bag, etc. Next to each item you couldn't eat, write things you could possibly do with those components. Broth from bones, calcium powder from eggshells, pickled watermelon rinds, anything, even if you might not actually want to eat it.
Use this information to write up exactly what you should have bought. Eliminate straight away anything you didn't eat, implement the lower waste options, and note next to each item what you could do with the excess.
Use what you have learned to approach your next shopping trip differently. You can use that exact list, or you can write a new list just as mindfully. Perhaps you need to shop more frequently for less food, so things stop going bad before your next trip. Perhaps you need to plan ahead and bring a list to the store. No matter what, it'll take time for you to adjust- but just repeat these steps every now and again to refine your approach to food, and you'll be well on your way to cutting down waste.

One thing has been haunting me for a while now as I read Pet Shop of Horrors: Tokyo for the first time—what has Tetsu been eating??
I'm all for Count D getting less murderous. It seems like his experiences with Leon and Chris have made him want to help out at least some humans and nudge them in a better direction, rather than setting people up for karmic animal deaths as a matter of course. He's helping a little, rather than judging and condemning and scaring quite so often. Or at least he's relatively neutral toward people while he tries to mess around and help out the local animals. He still ends up setting people up for self-defeat sometimes, but Tokyo has featured way fewer stories with that angle. And that's a nice character beat! I wish we'd spend a little more time on his introspection in-manga, but I can see what the creator is going for with this direction.
However, there's still a totetsu in the pet shop. There's at least one "pet" that eats humans as the center of his diet, and there's very likely more than just the one. D specifically got Tetsu to come stay at the pet shop by offering him food! Even if he's gotten less gung-ho about killing people, the fact that we've seen him/his pets cause the deaths of hardly anyone at all feels almost like a plot hole. Is there a list of missing persons in Kabukicho lining Tetsu's stomach, and we just don't know because Lau Wu Fei doesn't ever suspect or get involved with that side of D?
I'm all for character development, but in my heart D isn't D unless he's feeding the occasional creep and/or asshole to his menagerie.

My top anti-binge food rn is roasted sunflower seeds with the shells on. They are sooo nutty and crisp, and they force me to slow down and eat more mindfully. You can eat for what feels like ages and still consume a very small amount! Plus they are full of healthy fats and nutrients, great for the heart 🩷
