Stop touching your face with those crusty musty dusty hands! There are so many germs on your hands which can give you pimples and stuff on your face.

jewellery! helps so much in enhancing your look! you could do small hoops earrings, necklaces/ bracelets- (also figure out which colour- gold or silver- looks best on you!

a guide to summer hygiene. ᥫ᭡

warmer weather is finally making an appearance and that means summer is even closer! let’s be real, a lot of us want to live and breathe “hot girl summer” but the heat? the sweat? yeah, that can make being an it-girl in the summer hard. it’s prime time for us all to be worrying about whether or not we smell good when we’re out and about under the summer sun, so allow me to be your big sis and hand down my best summer hygiene tips and tricks so that you can guarantee you’ll be smelling fresh as flowers all summer long!

let’s begin …
୨ৎ — body odor 101
we all absolutely dread bad smelling body odor, and some of us (me included) fear it. so let’s talk about how that not-so-nice smell can come about on our bodies.
sweat itself is odorless! it’s the bacteria on our skin that can make the sweat smell! we all have normal flora (natural bacteria) that live within our bodies and on our skin, which like the name suggests, is completely normal for our bodies to have! but sometimes that mix of bacteria and sweat can cause some pretty foul smells.
it’s also important to know that there are other factors that can be associated with body odor! hormones, diet, certain medications/vitamins/supplements, and obviously your hygiene habits can impact how you smell!
we also have two different sweat glands: eccrine glands & apocrine glands!
eccrine glands — they secrete sweat directly onto the skin to provide a cooling effect on our bodies
apocrine glands — most commonly found glands in the armpit area as well as the groin area ; this is where the body odor can stem from! due to the hair that grows in those two specific areas, bacteria can mix better with the sweat our bodies produce
important to note: your body hair is nothing to be ashamed of! whether you’re a woman, nonbinary, a man, or however you identify, your body hair is natural and it’s all completely up to you, and you alone, to decide whether or not you shave, trim, wax, or keep your body hair! having body hair does not mean you have poor hygiene!
୨ৎ — it all starts in the shower
it’s already a very obvious given that showering every single day is a must when it comes to achieving good and proper hygiene, so please make sure you’re hopping into the shower daily my loves! especially if you spent the entire day sweating, which will most likely happen during the warmer seasons!
like we discussed in the previous section, body odor is a mix of the sweat we produce and the bacteria that is living on the skin. so, if you are more prone to sweating or you were grinding at the gym or you went for a walk in the heat, do not forget to shower!
double cleansing the body
just as we double cleanse our face and hair, we should also double cleanse the body! i’ve mentioned this in a previous post with hygiene tips, but it’s good to do an initial cleanse to remove all the sweat, grime, and dirt from the day and then follow up with another cleanse to ensure that you’re body is squeaky clean and smelling fresh!
1st cleanse: can be an unscented or a scented soap/body wash, does not have to be an antibacterial wash (but it can be if you so choose), can be a bar soap or gel/liquid body wash
2nd cleanse: i recommend this 2nd cleanse to be something scented, but it doesn’t have to be! having at least one body wash/soap be scented can just amplify that clean and fresh smell of your body!
soap is soap. body wash is body wash. simply put: either way, you will be clean! you don’t have to go out and buy medical-grade soaps to clean your body. Dove is a great and affordable option! they have a great selection of bar soaps and body washes that will leave you smelling good and feeling clean!
loofas are not your friend
i’ve also talked about this in another post, but loofas harbor so much bacteria! and, again, bacteria + sweat = bad b.o.
African net sponges have been a god-send for me! they last for years, are machine washable, stretchy (making it easier to wash those hard to reach areas), and dry completely which makes it harder for bacteria to develop because bacteria thrive in moist/wet environments! which is why loofas are a no-go! standard wash cloths are also a great option, so long as you’re replacing it after every shower!
୨ৎ — post-shower rituals
what happens after your shower also plays a huge role into your hygiene! good and proper hygiene doesn’t stop in the shower!
dry all the cracks & crevices thoroughly
for my angels with coochies, please make sure you are completely dry down there! and make sure your underarms and any other cracks (and yes, i also mean the backdoor crack) and crevices are 100% dry!
put on deodorant immediately after your shower
as soon as your underarms are bone dry, put on deodorant! specifically an antiperspirant one! if you shower at night, it’s absolutely key to put on deodorant after your nightly shower because you could be sweating a lot more than you might think while you sleep! that antiperspirant is going to help keep your underarms smelling good and also help prevent that buildup of bacteria mixing with your sweat and creating a not-so-sweet smell.
cool off with a fan
if you take warmer/hot showers like me, i seriously recommend sitting in front of a fan after your shower or getting a fan (that fits in your bathroom) to help you cool off after your shower.
you probably just took the most amazing shower ever and you feel so nice and clean, but it’s hot as hell in your bathroom? get a fan! as you’re drying off the rest of your body and going through the rest of your post-shower routine, do you really want to do all of that in a hot and steamy room? getting sweaty all over again?
୨ৎ — every day & on-the-go tips
put deodorant in your purse/bag
if you’re a heavy sweater, bring deodorant with you and reapply it as you go about your day! you’ll never know when you might need it, especially if you’re spending all day outside in the summer!
carry body wipes with you
again, if you’re out all day and you’re needing a little freshening up, body wipes will be your best friend! these are especially good if you need to wipe down your underarms and then you can reapply deodorant so that you’re not layering a good smell over something that may not smell so good!
pack extra clothes
if you’re outside somewhere whether it’s a festival, amusement park, or even the park and you know you won’t be heading home for a while, pack an extra set of clothes! if you have the room in your bag, pack a new pair of underwear, shirt, pants, & even socks!
travel sized perfumes and/or body mists
i feel like people already know this, but seriously put a travel sized bottle of perfume/body spray in your bag! it’s always a good idea to reapply a good fragrance!
change your bed sheets weekly
again, this is another tip that’s pretty much a given, but during the warmer seasons it’s even more important to change your bed sheets regularly!
final notes —
the warmer seasons are just around the corner! i know a lot of us feel like we blossom and flourish in the spring/summer! me, personally, i feel the most beautiful freshly showered and ready for the day ahead! so think of your hygiene routine as a part of your beauty routine!

• drink amla (gooseberry) juice daily for super thick hair.
• eat curry leaves (4-5 every morning) to prevent premature greying and strengthen follicles.
• drink fenugreek (methi) water on an empty stomach for hair regrowth.
• eat nutritious food and healthy foods
• avoid too much sugar and dairy – they can cause scalp inflammation and hair fall.
other powerful hacks for hair health
1. scalp massages every day – use fingertips or a scalp massager for 5-10 mins to boost circulation.
2. derma rolling (microneedling for scalp) – stimulates new hair growth and thickens strands. please don’t get too harsh (once a week)

The way you dress and present yourself plays a huge role on how you perceive yourself and how others perceive you, it can also help you gain pretty privilege, but what if you are late for school or you're...just lazy? Maybe it's cold outside or you're in a tired mood. Today I'm gonna talk about staple pieces that can't be missed in a girly girl wardrobe.

Never really used them, but if they are the right color they can be BOMB, you just need to know for which style you're going for, if you are more for the street wear I suggest you to get a full pink track suit or a brown one, you can also get some with very cool logos, this to get an idea:

If you want to try something not so pink, you can change the color of your pants, wear suits with other colors but still a very feminine design or wear neon pants and a more neutral hoodie, the choice it's up to you!

A few DIY beauty secrets I began doing to elevate my "natural" look | IT GIRL DIARIES

something that I noticed over the years, when looking to enhance your natural beauty, there are 4 main points that build the first impression, hair, eyes, brows and lips..
I have naturally bushy brows that I used to manage with eyebrow gel, but it would start flaking during the day, which gave me the ickk. So, I began laminating them with a kid-friendly relaxer every two weeks (my eyebrows grow pretty fast, which is why I do it so often and i don't get them professionally done because i don't trust people with my brows lol).
I always tweeze my eyebrows instead of waxing them; they seem to grow back slower that way + it's easier to do, just grab a tweezer along with a pocket mirror and you can do it anywhere if you see a hair out of place. ( don't over do it though, i made this mistake and it went horribly, just keep them neat )
Get your lashes laminated !!! Natural lashes are so classy and I don't have to worry about putting on mascara or falsies. This I'd get done professionally though lmao, I would do this myself but I'm way to scared to be messing with anything chemically so close to my eyes, so it isn't necessarily a diy but still, get it done!
ALWAYS make sure your hair, eyes (lashes) and eyebrows are done! You don't have to have a silk press, falsies and freshly waxed brows 24/7 but make sure they're neat. These are the key features that attracts people's attention when youre speaking to them
I have tight 4b type hair, and I used to have to lay my edges with gel or edge control because of how fluffy they'd get when I wore my curls out, but it was super damaging from constantly pulling on them and having them laid down. So, I started relaxing my edges every 3-6 months. Now, all I use is a bit of hairspray to keep them tamed, and now it doesn't puff up even during workouts and it lasts my whole silk press. Yes, my curls are still thriving.
I do weekly deep conditioning, monthly hot oil treatments, routine trims, and always use a heat protectant and frizz control when doing silk presses to stretch them out and minimize heat application. ( my hair has grown so much, leave your hair alone and only feed it when it's hungry! )
you'll hear everyone talking about silk bonnets, but as someone who hates the feeling of having anything on their head or in their face, I always took it off unknowingly throughout the night and it defeated the purpose, so i got silk pillow cases instead, game changer! i don't wrap my hair as often anymore and i don't experience frizz anymore.
I apply a face mask every week depending on what my skin is lacking, whether it’s moisture or something else. It just keeps my face looking fresh and plump in between professional monthly facials.
I use a lip tint every third day. It makes makeup application easier, and it doesn’t wear off throughout the day so i don't have to re-apply lipstick continuously. It also gives my lips a bit more colour so now I just leave the house with a pretty gloss or plain lip balm.
I take zinc supplements religiously!
Vitamin C everyday, all day. Lemon wedge in my greentea for breakfast, orange for a lunchtime snack and a naartjie for a late night movie. My skin is glowinggg!
hair removal cream! this is so slept on, i no longer shave or wax, both of them have caused ingrowns for me and accentuate my strawberry legs. i use hair removal cream now and i don't think I'll ever go back! i use it probably every week or so depending on how much growth i have, it's so easy and mess free. apply it before you get in the shower and use an exfoliating glove to slide it off gently and continue with your normal wash routine. always apply tissue oil and moisturizer after! baby soft skin all day, everyday!
It's not much, but these small changes have completely transformed my overall look. i do them specifically for those actual no makeup days where i want to give my skin a break from makeup or where im working out but still want to look prettyyy and done up..it's like a wash and go except it's for your face lmao, anyways

my glowy skin tips
turmeric scrubs. literally will make you shine. i make mine with raw turmeric.
shea butter, olive oil + coconut oil (omit from face), and almond oil. i apply my mix to my body and face still wet from bathing. then immediately follow up with spf then vaseline.
stop eating like shit if you are. my skin changed drastically when i stopped eating fast food. + dehydration shows in my skin badly so i make sure to drink at least 80oz of water a day.

one of my favorite compliments that i receive is, “you smell so good!” i strive to be that person who walks into a room and have people think, “oh my god, what are you wearing?” or “wow, you smell amazing!” and i’m sure a lot of you do too! smelling good is a big chunk of what makes me feel beautiful. having my signature scent just gives me that personal, little touch about myself that makes me feel so gorgeous, stunning, and ethereal. it’s taken me some time to perfect my signature scent, so i want to share some quick tips on how you can achieve that for yourself too!

let’s begin …
୨ৎ — what’s your favorite scent(s)?
there’s so many scents out there, but ask yourself this: what scent, or combination of scents do you lean towards?
let’s talk a little about a few different scent categories!
florals ; jasmine, rose, lily / soft & powdery
— floral scents give, in my opinion, very feminine but sophisticated vibes. it’s a wonderful fragrance that can make you feel fresh and give that romantic spring aura around yourself.
fruity ; strawberry, citrus, tropical / fresh & juicy / playful & sweet
— fruitier scents have this summer freshness to them! they’re also perfect for layering with other scents, which makes this specific scent category very versatile!
gourmand ; vanilla, caramel, chocolate / sweet, decadent & delicious
— gourmand scents are perfect for anyone who wants to smell delectable and rich! this is another one of those scents that can layer nicely with other scents. it’s perfect as a stand-alone thanks to those richer and more decadent smells, but it could also be great as an underlying scent amongst another main fragrance!
amber ; warm, rich, exotic, vanilla / hints of wood, musk, & spice
— amber scents can provide comforting fragrances along with a feeling of luxury laced within it. this scent offers a more mature vibe to whoever wears! i think it’s that perfect gender-neutral scent while still offering more feminine or masculine-leaning options!
there are a plethora of different scents out there including clean and fresh scents, more woodsy scents, and even scents that remind you of the ocean!
the key takeaway in this section is just to figure out which scents you feel more drawn to, which scents make you feel beautiful, which scents make you feel like that girl; what scents do you love?
୨ৎ — experimenting
when i’m curating my signature scent, i always ask myself these two questions: 1) how does this scent make me feel? and 2) how are others reacting to this scent?
i always strive to boost my own confidence, and having a scent that makes me feel like an absolute angel helps! also, taking into consideration how the scent(s) i’m wearing gets other people around me reacting also gives me an extra confidence boost. and who doesn’t love being told they smell good?
the experimental stage is my favorite part! it’s just all about playing around with different fragrance combinations and seeing which ones just make you think “oh my god, this is everything!”
fragrance layering — essential to your signature scent
having one cohesive scent is amazing, and maybe that’s what some people want! but think about it: wouldn’t it be more likely for other people to have that same singular scent as you if you stick to one type of fragrance? this is exactly why i believe layering different scents is absolutely essential in creating your signature scent!
when you layer scents, you’re actively creating a scent combination of your very own! chances are, when you layer scents, no one else is going to smell like you. other people may have similar fragrance notes, but they aren’t going to have the exact combination that you have!

Burberry Goddess — scent type: gourmand + amber
Orabella Blooming Fire — scent type: warm floral
EOS Body Lotion Strawberry Dream — scent type: fruity + soft gourmand
you want to make sure that the scents you’re layering combine well together. you can see that the scents i’m layering have similar scent types, but there’s still a nice difference between all of them to still provide that “signature scent” feeling!
**tina’s tip: if you’re at the store and trying out different scents, use the little tester strips and hold them together and take a whiff! it’s a real easy way to see what scents you like together and what scents should probably keep a distance from each other!
consider your body chemistry
keep in mind, how the fragrance smells from the bottle can change when it’s applied onto your body! all of us are different, so some scents are going to smell differently on our person. i wore billie eilish’s perfume (the gold bottle) a lot in the winter, and my coworker loved how it smelled on me and i convinced her to get it for herself, but she ended up hating how it smelled on her and she even told me she had to return it because it didn’t smell like how it did on me.
if you’re really leaning towards a couple scents at the store, don’t be afraid to try it on yourself! spray a little on your wrist, let it dry down, and then give your wrist a sniff. see how you like it! see if there’s any differences you notice! you might be obsessed with how something smells in the bottle, but there might be a chance you might hate how it smells on you.
keep tabs — which scent is getting the most attention?
i’m not saying you have a keep a journal and make tally marks on which scents are getting the most compliments, but i just mean make mental notes for yourself!
like i said earlier, who doesn’t love being told they smell good? so when i’m finding my signature scent i like to make mental notes to myself of which perfume(s) are getting the most compliments!
as a little disclaimer: i know i’ve talked a lot about not caring about what other people think, and i will always stand by those statements i’ve made about that, but when i talk about not valuing other people’s opinions i mean that i don’t want to give any value to other people’s opinions of myself; of me as a person, how i live my life, and how i view myself. and that same thought process goes out to you lovely angels! i wouldn’t want you guys to put any value into what anyone has to say about you and your life, but when it comes to something as small as how i smell, well, it doesn’t hold as much importance to me versus how someone thinks about me as an individual, you know what i mean? now, back to the blog post!
see which scents are making people go “you smell so good!” or “what are you wearing? it smells amazing!” but keep in mind of how that scent makes you feel. maybe other people absolutely love the perfumes you wear, but maybe you’re not the biggest fan of the scents, so maybe you want to find different fragrances of the same or similar scent types of the ones that other people are complimenting and find ones that you really love!
having a non-official “vote” of which scents get you the most compliments can actually help you find scents that give you your own personal confidence boost while still getting to hear that beloved “you smell so good!” comment!
୨ৎ — seasonal scents
another fun way of finding your signature scent is by also having a designated scent for each season! i personally have a spring/summer scent and a fall/winter scent!
you can associate florals & fruit with spring/summer and warm vanilla & amber/gourmand with fall/winter, but it’s all up to you! think of the vibe you want to give off during the different seasons. maybe in the spring & summer you want something more fresh, playful, and juicy and maybe in the fall & winter you want something warm, cozy, and sweet!
i’m all about associating smells with memories and vibes, so my biggest piece of advice for seasonal signature scents is to pick fragrances that go along with the energy you want to give!
final notes —
curating your signature scent doesn’t have to be a stress-inducing endeavor! make it fun for yourself and take time to experiment with different smells! when you find that scent or combination of scents that you feel like really embodies you and your energy, really own it. it’s your signature scent, it’s the scent that’s going to make people remember you by, it’s the scent that makes you feel like that girl!

This is a guide on daily routines inspired by Thewizardliz! This routine is perfect to stop being lazy and pathetic and finally start taking care of yourself!

✸ ꒰ morning routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆
🧼 First things first, after you wake up make sure to drink water to boost your metabolism throughout the day! Also, create a mind movie so you can watch it everyday after you wake up.
Now, take your journal and start writing about your dream, ideal higher self, ask yourself questions like ‘What reality do i want to create?´ 'Who do i look up to?’ ‘What is the behavior I need to change about myself?’ ‘What's a new habit that I would like to create?’ ‘What is a thing I can focus on right now?’. After we have in mind who we want to become, it's important that every little decision you make today is centered to achieve your goals, and become your dream self. You can listen to a podcast while doing this so you get motivation!
💶 Then, head to the bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror and start repeating positive affirmations, such as ‘I am so beautiful’ or ‘My hair looks so pretty today’, even if you don't believe it, having a positive mindset is going to help us to stay in track with our goals!
Take care of your teeth, Liz says that our smile is one of the most important things in a person, and one of the key things that is going to make you more attractive! so, make sure to brush your teeth, floss, clean your tongue, etc.
🛣 Liz has a rather simple skincare routine, since her skin is so sensitive, it only consists of using a foam cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream to help with her eye bags.
Next step is to research and find our own personal clothing and makeup style, find out your body type, personal color, face shape, etc. It doesn't matter if you have to mix multiple styles that already exist to make your own! The most important thing is to feel comfortable while wearing those clothes or having that type of makeup on your face.
🏔 Liz doesn't like to force herself to have breakfast, she just dont eat if she's not hungry, however if you are hungry rather than focusing on calories focus on how nutritious your meal is. Whatsoever if you are not hungry and you are not going to eat, make sure to always take your vitamins and supplements!

Yes, it's time to drink a little more water!
⛰ Liz doesn't have a settled study routine but, it's important to spend our time wisely, if you can finish an assignment way before the time it's due, DO IT! Also, she emphasized that knowledge leads to confidence. If you put effort in your studies, every little thing in your life will slowly fall into place.

First, set healthy goals, like toning up your body or building muscle, try not to make ‘just being skinny’ your goal.
🧩 second, don't measure yourself with a scale or measuring tape and focus on how you look in the mirror, are you satisfied? if you are then you are done with the intense workout routine!
Liz goes to the gym and has her own personal training program, but here’s some kind of exercises she recommends; weight training, pilates and dancing with her main focus being toning up her abs and butt.
🏄‍♀️ Remember to drink water and that consistency is more important than perfection, go at your own pace, it doesn't matter if you can't do a 2 hour workout and look snatched in 3 days and you can only do a 5 minute workout, every little effort adds up!

Before showering, do dry brushing to exfoliate your skin and increase circulation (1-2 times per week). Then use shampoo and conditioner, research to find the best one for you, what may help others won't help you. Liz also uses a hair mask 1 to 2 times per week to get that shiny silk hair.
🎾 After showering take some time to shape and pluck your eyebrows depending on your face shape and what impression you want to give! 
Liz uses face masks 1 to 2 times per week to cleansing her face deeply, then she does her skincare. After applying all the products do a lymphatic massage on your face and neck, you can also cool down your face with massagers or cold spoons for an extra depuff.
🍾 For self care, you can journal again, search for shadow work prompts, think of what things you should unlearn and relearn and don't forget to practice gratitude. Or you can take time to clean your room or house, you deserve to have a clean safe place! 
Oh! and don't forget to drink water again.

🧃 Time for dinner! (only if you are not full yet), again, make sure to focus on nutrients rather than calories. Don't forget to drink a glass of water with your dinner. You can watch a documentary while eating to keep gaining even more knowledge.
Now, do your oral hygiene routine again. Also, put on eyelash conditioner and serum to wake up with perfect lashes! Then wear a silk cap or do a protective hairstyle to protect your hair from getting damaged while you're sleeping.
🍵 Then get in bed and drink a cup of tea with collagen to start relaxing your body. and it's finally time to manifest! watch your mind movie again and use your most useful method (affirming visualizing, subliminals, etc.), don't forget to ask god, the universe or whatever you believe in for signals and help!
Afterwards, you can read an inspirational book like ‘atomic habits’ or ‘the art of thinking clearly’ to keep nourishing your brain. keep a reachable goal like reading 5 pages everyday and then decide if you want to continue reading or not.
🥬 Before sleeping listen to a guided meditation, liz have one to be more confident and one to attract money, choose one that aligns with your goals!
Finally fall asleep in a healthy sleeping position, Liz sleeps in her back looking at the roof, but you can choose your favorite position, don't forget to get a pillow that fits the position (example: tall and lofty pillow -> for sleeping on your side)
