Hi guys,
Since we are loving skincare talk this week I wanted to share with one of my skincare secrets. Ladies we all know the struggles of *that time of the month* and if you’re like me then you might get a facial spot which is so annoying! Personally I love to prevent them when I can but sometimes those little nuggets sneak up on you.
When I was a bridesmaid in April the night before the wedding I had a break out and of course freaked out so I looked online for solutions and was pointed in the direction of Kiehl’s. After reading a lot of beauty bloggers, a lot of them were recommending to try the Truly Targeted Blemish-Clearing Solution, £26.00. This unique product is an invisible liquid blemish patch with 2% Salicylic Acid that’s specifically formulated to provide visible results on blemishes and post-blemish marks. It's a great way to treat a spot quickly and honestly has worked so well for me! I use this product when I'm not wearing makeup and it works perfectly under makeup too!
When I got the solution the lovely lady at the Kiehl's stand also gave me a sample of the Expertly Clear Blemish-Treating & Preventing Lotion, £42.50. The lotion is a hydrating blemish treatment with 1.2% Salicylic Acid and 2% Niacinamide specifically formulated to help clear and fade marks and help prevent future blemishes., without over-drying the skin. I have been mixing this with my moisturiser everyday and I must admit this month my hormonal breakouts haven't been that bad.
Of course the more you use these products, the better results you see. I have been using this products for a month now and I do find it makes a difference with my complexion and any blemishes I get seem to go a lot quicker with I use the treatment.
As always all products mentioned are linked above.
Lot's of love,
Bella x x

10 Essential Steps for a Simple Daily Skin Care Routine: Dermatologist Tips
Introduction: Why a Simple Daily Skincare Routine Matters
Have you ever wondered how a simple daily skincare routine could change the health and appearance of your skin? Many of us are tempted by fancy treatments or quick fixes, but it’s the basics that matter most. A simple skincare routine not only helps prevent common skin concerns like dryness or acne, but it also keeps your skin looking youthful and glowing.
Dermatologists, especially the Best Dermatologists in Ashok Nagar, recommend keeping your routine simple and focused on the essentials. You don’t need to load your skin with multiple products every day. Instead, it’s about finding the right products for your skin type and concerns, and using them consistently. If you're looking for the Best Skin Treatment in Ashok Nagar, starting with the right skincare routine is your first step toward healthier skin.
Let’s dive into the 10 essential steps that can help improve your skin’s health, supported by dermatologist-approved advice.
Skin Care Tips Recommended by a Dermatologist
Before jumping into the steps, it’s important to understand what dermatologists recommend for effective skincare. They stress the importance of simplicity and consistency. Many products on the market promise instant results, but it’s important to choose items that are gentle yet effective. Here’s what dermatologists suggest:
Know your skin type: Whether it's oily, dry, combination, or sensitive, knowing your skin’s needs is crucial.
Stick to the basics: Cleanse, moisturize, and protect your skin daily.
Hydrate your skin from the inside: Drinking enough water helps to maintain healthy skin.
Let’s now move into the 10 steps that can transform your skin routine.
10 Essential Steps for a Simple Daily Skin Care Routine
Step 1: Start with a Gentle Cleanser
The first step in your skincare routine is to cleanse your skin. It’s essential to remove dirt, oil, and impurities that accumulate on your skin throughout the day.
Here’s why it matters:
Cleanse your face every morning and night: Even if you haven’t applied makeup, cleansing is still crucial to remove oil and pollutants.
Choose a cleanser suited for your skin type: Oily skin benefits from a foaming cleanser, while dry skin needs a moisturizing formula.
Tips for choosing the right cleanser:
For oily or acne-prone skin, look for a foaming or salicylic acid-based cleanser.
For dry skin, opt for a hydrating, cream-based cleanser to avoid stripping natural oils.
Step 2: Hydrate Your Skin with a Toner
After cleansing, it’s time to use a toner. Toners balance your skin’s pH levels and provide an additional layer of hydration.
Why use a toner?
Balance and hydrate: Toners remove leftover traces of dirt and prep your skin for moisturizing.
Target specific concerns: Some toners contain ingredients like vitamin C or tea tree oil to target pigmentation or acne.
Toner tips:
Choose alcohol-free toners to avoid drying out your skin.
Look for toners with natural ingredients like aloe vera for hydration.
Tumblr media
Step 3: Apply a Serum Targeted to Your Needs
Serums are packed with active ingredients designed to target specific skin concerns. Whether you're struggling with acne, pigmentation, or fine lines, there’s a serum for you.
Serums work wonders by:
Treating skin concerns: Vitamin C helps brighten skin, while hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates.
Being more concentrated: Serums are formulated with powerful ingredients, meaning a little goes a long way.
Tips for using a serum:
Apply serums on damp skin to help them absorb better.
Use a serum with antioxidants if you're looking to fight signs of aging.
Step 4: Don’t Skip the Moisturizer
Moisturizing is the backbone of any skincare routine. Hydrated skin is plump, soft, and glowing, while dry skin can lead to issues like irritation and wrinkles.
Here’s why moisturizer is essential:
Locks in hydration: Moisturizers keep the skin hydrated by preventing moisture from escaping.
Skin protection: Moisturizing creates a barrier against harsh environmental factors.
Moisturizer tips:
Use a lighter, gel-based moisturizer for oily skin.
For dry skin, opt for a rich, creamy moisturizer to restore moisture.
Book Your Appointment Now!
Step 5: Protect Your Skin with Sunscreen
Sunscreen should be applied every single day, whether it's sunny or overcast. UV rays cause premature aging, pigmentation, and even skin cancer. Dermatologists stress that applying sunscreen is one of the most important steps in preventing skin damage.
Here’s why sunscreen is crucial:
Prevent sun damage: Sunscreen protects your skin from UV rays that cause long-term harm.
Daily protection: UV damage can happen even on cloudy days, so apply sunscreen every morning.
Tips for sunscreen use:
Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher for daily use.
Reapply sunscreen every two hours when spending time outdoors.
Step 6: Exfoliate Gently Once or Twice a Week
Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and helps your skin renew itself. However, over-exfoliating can irritate your skin, so do this step only once or twice a week.
Here’s how exfoliation helps:
Promotes skin renewal: By removing dead cells, exfoliating gives your skin a smoother, fresher appearance.
Improves product absorption: Exfoliating allows your other products to penetrate the skin more effectively.
Exfoliation tips:
Choose gentle exfoliants with small beads or chemical exfoliants like AHA and BHA for smoother skin.
Never scrub your skin too hard. Be gentle with your face.
Step 7: Care for Your Eye Area
The skin around your eyes is delicate, which makes it more prone to puffiness and dark circles. Using an eye cream can make a huge difference.
Why focus on the eye area?
Prevents aging: The skin around the eyes is thinner and ages faster, so keeping it moisturized can help fight wrinkles and crow's feet.
Reduces puffiness: Eye creams with caffeine can help reduce puffiness and dark circles.
Tips for eye care:
Apply eye creams with your ring finger to avoid putting too much pressure on the delicate skin.
Look for eye creams that contain ingredients like peptides and hyaluronic acid.
Step 8: Hydrate from the Inside Out
What you put inside your body directly affects your skin’s health. Drinking plenty of water and eating skin-friendly foods can help maintain moisture levels.
Why hydration matters:
Boosts skin elasticity: Staying hydrated helps maintain your skin’s firmness and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
Flushes out toxins: Water helps remove toxins from your body that can cause skin breakouts.
Hydration tips:
Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Eat foods rich in antioxidants, like berries and leafy greens, to nourish your skin from the inside.
Step 9: Target Hair and Scalp Health
Healthy hair and a healthy scalp contribute to overall skin health. If you're experiencing hair thinning or scalp issues, it’s important to address them as part of your skincare routine.
Why hair care matters:
Scalp health affects skin: A healthy scalp promotes better hair growth and prevents dandruff.
Hair thinning treatments: If you're dealing with hair fall, consider treatments available at VR Speciality Clinic.
Hair care tips:
Use gentle shampoos that don’t strip natural oils.
Try scalp treatments to promote hair growth and prevent dandruff.
Step 10: Regular Checkups with a Dermatologist
While these steps are essential for maintaining healthy skin, regular visits to a dermatologist are equally important. They can help you spot early signs of issues like acne, eczema, or even skin cancer.
Here’s why regular checkups matter:
Personalized advice: Dermatologists can recommend specific treatments based on your skin type and needs.
Preventive care: Regular checkups help catch any skin issues early on, such as skin pigmentation concerns, that may require professional intervention.
Tips for dermatologist visits:
Book a consultation with a Best Skin Specialist Doctor in Ashok Nagar, Chennai for tailored skincare advice.
Don’t wait for serious skin issues to arise—prevention is key.

Nothing more right than this
this is your reminder that your skincare routine doesn’t need to rely on expensive products and specific aesthetics to work
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
yes, it’s nice to have expensive skincare products, but you need to know that a facial cleanser specific to your skin type, a moisturizer and sunscreen used daily can already make a 180 on your skin, even if they’re cheap. it’s better than nothing.
i know that fitting into clean girl aesthetic also fits awesomely with skincare, but you can also be a goth girl, a maximalist or not have a specific aesthetic and still look clean.
skincare is self care and it’s treating yourself good, not a capitalistic trend for you to spend all your money on specific it girl products.
also, let’s not forget that:
drinking water is skincare. having 50 products and an one-hour skincare routine will do nothing if you don’t drink the ideal quantity of water your body needs per day. drinking water helps with skin hydration, elasticity, detoxication, cicatrization, helps preventing acne and swelling, gives your face a healthy look and much more.
eating right is skincare. people who eat more heavy and fastfood than nourishing and healthy food are much more prone to have acne, oily skin, insulin spikes, premature aging, face and body swelling and other more serious skin problems like dermatitis. fastfood is basically small amounts of poison to your body and they’re difficult to digest, has few nutrients and should not be eaten as much as possible and/or with responsibility. it’s harms are super underrated.
having a good night of sleep is skincare. when you have a good night of sleep, your body regenerates your skin cells, helping you to look younger. it also produces collagen, regulates cortisol, improves blood circulation (without it, your skin looks pale and lifeless), repairs damage caused by sun and pollution and more. i’m talking about 7 to 9 hours of sleep (with REM!!) per day for adults, while teenagers need 8 to 10 hours per day.
moving your body is skincare. it has the same effects as the points of the other topics + improves self-esteem and mental, emotional and physical wellness. you don’t need to workout, you don’t need to run 10km/6 miles per day, you just need to regularly move you body in a way that it feels good for you.
