hello! I've been seeing a lot of smosh vidcon content lately as well as rewatching shayne guesses and it made me brainstorm a bit!

How about a Spencer x reader where he freaks out about his favorite creator being at vidcon (the reader obvi) and the other cast members trying so hard to get them to meet and they hit it off? *you know Kiana would be allll over helping a bestie out lol*

or maybe even the same kind of thing but instead of meeting, reader is one of Spencer's fav youtubers in Shayne's guessing favorite youtubers video? Shayne immediately knows it's spencer and kind of outs his crush! reader is a big fan of smosh so she sees the video and it goes from there!

summary: when you see a smosh video of spencer saying you’re one of his favorite youtubers, you begin to interact online. then, when you both attend vidcon (and spencer’s friends convince him to talk to you) you hit it off

a/n: hey darling! so i kind of went with both of these ideas and i hope you like what i did 🤭 i included some fake insta/yt in this because it fit so this is partially a social media au. fem!reader. enjoy!!

     “Well, this is obviously Spencer.”

     Shayne tapped his pen against the desk as he looked at the screen in front of him.

     Three YouTuber names had appeared next to him for the viewers to see. 

     “What makes it me?” Spencer’s teasing voice came from off camera. 

     “C’mon,” Shayne said. “We got Retro Game Corp, MandaloreGaming, and (Y/n) (Y/l/n).”

     He continued. “Everyone knows you love retro shit. MandaloreGaming sounds like just the kind of nerd thing you’d be into. And (Y/n)—that one’s just self explanatory. I mean, Spencer’s obsessed with (Y/n). Ask anyone in the office.”

     “Ok woah,” Spencer piped in again. “I don’t know about obsessed.”

     “Dude, you just told me yesterday that you watched her videos until two in the morning the night before,” Shayne addressed him.

      Then he faced back to the screen, to the viewers. “Spencer’s got a little bit of a crush on (Y/n). It’s uh, it’s honestly adorable.”

      A woman’s muffled voice came from offscreen. 

     Shayne laughed. “Kiana said Spencer would have (Y/n)’s babies.”

     “Dude!” Spencer yelled at Kiana offscreen. “What if she sees this!”

     “There’s no way,” Shayne laughed. “There’s no way any of the YouTubers from this video are seeing this.”

      “Imagine,” Spencer joked. “I’m like, ‘hey (Y/n), hit me up’, and then she sees this, bro.”

      “Hey,” Shayne raised his eyebrows. “You never know. I mean, I married a YouTuber.”

      “Just an excuse to bring up Courtney,” Spencer coughed.

      “Anyway,” Shayne put his hands on the table in front of him. “We’re getting a little off track here. We’ve established Spencer’s in love with (Y/n). Now—do I even have to guess?—show me Spencer!”

      He pointed to the side as an imagine of Spencer popped up on the screen. 

      “Well, thanks for that easy round,” Shayne joked. “Now, let’s see the next set of YouTubers…”

     And that was where you stopped watching the video every time. You’d seen the whole of Shayne Guesses Favorite YouTubers before, but when you went back to rewatch it, it was always this clip.

     You’d been sent this specific clip by hundreds of people. Your followers and subscribers on all different platforms. The comments ranged from ‘oh my gosh look at this’ to ‘you have to see this smosh video’ to ‘petition to get Spencer and (Y/n) to go out’.

     What they didn’t know, was that you’d seen it long before they began tagging you in it.

     You were a huge Smosh fan, and had been for years. Imagine your shock when you yourself were named in one of their videos. 

     You’d only been a creator for a little over a year now, but you’d quickly gained a following and were becoming more and more popular online. It still all felt so surreal, and seeing yourself named as someone’s favorite YouTuber—especially on one of your favorite channels—felt like a huge moment.

      That, and you were flattered by Shayne’s comments about Spencer. You thought it was sweet that he enjoyed your content and—you couldn’t stop the blush from spreading to your cheeks—you. 

      That was what prompted you to leave a comment under the video—a comment which Spencer responded to.

    And from there, you began interacting. Leaving comments and likes on each other’s videos and instagram posts. Leaving fans to obsess over your every interaction, to make compilations, to wonder if you were dating.

     Because you’d be lying if you said you didn’t read most of the comments about you two. 

    You enjoyed your little online back-and-forth. You’d known who Spencer was before the Shayne Guesses video had come out. Watching Smosh on-and-off for years, you’d seen him in multiple videos.

     It still felt so unreal for him to know who you were—not only know who you were but like your videos.

     And now look at you, messaging him and liking his posts like you were old friends. Spencer pretty much liked and commented on every one of your feeds or stories or uploads.

     After your original comment on the Smosh video, things just…took off. You didn’t really know how it started, one comment led to another, and suddenly it was like you had always congratulated each other and left witty comments on each other’s pages. 

     You smiled as you stared at the screen of your phone, looking over your’s and Spencer’s latest interaction. You couldn’t deny that he was really cute. You’d always thought so. 

     You thought of Shayne saying that Spencer had a crush on you and you felt your smile grow bigger.

     Your empty suitcase caught your eye as you looked up, sitting on your bed and reminding you that you still had to pack.

     You set your phone down. Fangirling over Spencer could wait. You still had yet to pack for your flight that that was in two days, and you didn’t want to leave it ‘till the last minute—or, more last minute than it already was.  

     You had been lucky enough to be invited to VidCon this year, and you were thrilled about getting to go as a creator and meet other artists who had inspired you. You were less thrilled about the packing.

      You stood up and walked towards your closet, starting to decide which outfits you wanted to bring, daydreaming about what VidCon would be like. All while thinking about Spencer.

VidCon was amazing. 

      Today was the first day, and you couldn’t wait for all the festive still to come. You had already seen so many cool presentations and been a part of so many workshops and met so many interesting people. 

      And now, as you stood at the table set aside for you, staring at the slowing line of people still waiting to meet you, you thought that this was definitely your favorite part.

     You’d gotten to talk to people who watched your channel and hear how your content had impacted their lives or inspired them to create. It really made it all feel worth it. It made you love your job and all of the opportunities it had given you.

     You’d been here for nearly two hours already, and still there were a few more fans waiting to speak with you and get a picture.  

     You smiled to yourself as the last of the people filed through, letting the momentary silence wash over you. You had just picked up your phone to take a quick selfie for a later post, when you heard a commotion to your left.

     You turned to the source of the noise and had to do a double take when you saw the entire cast of Smosh at a setup similar to yours, having their own meet and greet.

     You didn’t know why in all of your thinking about Spencer you hadn’t assumed that Smosh would be at VidCon. It seemed obvious now. They were YouTubers, weren’t they?

     Speaking of Spencer, you saw him talking to Courtney and your heart did a little flip in your chest. After interacting with him online these past few weeks, and watching his channel for these past few years, it seemed crazy to see him in person. 

     As if sensing your presence, he looked your way and you turned away in time so it didn’t look like you’d been staring. You didn’t think he’d caught you watching him. 

     “Wait? Spencer, is that (Y/n) (Y/l/n)?” Courtney’s voice carried over the several feet that separated you.

     “Oh, is it? I hadn’t noticed,” you heard him say sarcastically, even though your back was turned to him. You stepped a little bit closer to their location, pretending to be fixing something on your lanyard.

     “Dude, you have to go talk to her,” you heard a male voice—Shayne? You didn’t dare turn around—say.

     “No way man,” Spencer answered, “What would I even say?”

     “You’ve been commenting on each other’s instagrams for like a month, you’ll think of something,” Courtney said.

     “Yeah, but that’s different. This would be, like, a real conversation,” he answered. “I don’t actually know her. What if she thinks I’m just some creepy fan, and it’s like bro back off.”

     You bit your lip, stifling a giggle. Oh, what he didn’t know.

     Then the music in the venue picked up and you couldn’t hear their conversation for nearly a minute. You walked a few feet back over to your table, picking up and looking at a few of the gifts fans had given you, finding a new way to look busy. This went on for another minute before you heard a new voice say,

     “What’s this about Spence and (Y/n) (Y/l/n)?”

     “Just that Spencer’s going to go up to her,” Courtney announced. 

     “I’ll get the popcorn,” the voice said. 

     “No, Kiana,” you heard Spencer say. “That’s not what’s happening.”

     “You’ll regret if forever if you don’t go talk to (Y/n),” The voice—Kiana—stated. 

     “No way. That’d be like if I asked you to just ‘go up and talk to’ Darren Chris,” Spencer said

     “My favorite white guy,” Kiana joked.

     “Hey bro, I thought we established that was me!” Spencer said in outrage. 

     “You will be if you go and talk to (Y/n),” she finished. 

     “I will not be manipulated,” you heard him say, and you stifled another chuckle. 

     “No, but you will be shoved,” Kiana said.

     “Wait what?” Spencer got out, before you heard a scuffing sound.

     You turned around just as Kiana pushed Spencer and suddenly he was right before you. 

     “Hey,” he said, looking uncomfortable, shooting a glare behind him at Kiana. “I heard there was a meet and greet?”

     You smiled. “You just missed it, actually.” 

     “Damn, next year then,” he said.

     “I suppose I could make an exception,” you teased. “I wouldn’t want to be the one to take away anyone’s Favorite White Guy title.”

     Spencer winced. “How much of that conversation did you hear?”

     “What conversation?” You winked at him. 

     “I can’t remember,” Spencer said, smiling as he rubbed a hand along the side of his face.

     You were both silent for a moment.

     “So,” Spencer started, breaking it. “I would tell you that I love watching your content—until a very reasonable hour of the night, might I add—but you kind of already know that. And I bet you’ve already been told that by hundreds of people today.”

     “Not by anyone nearly as cute though,” you replied, before leaning in to mock-whisper. “And I don’t mind hearing it again.”

     “Also,” you continued. “I could say the same to you. I love Smosh—I’ve watched your channel for years. You guys are all so talented.”

     “Really? No way,” Spencer smiled. “You watch Smosh?”

     “Really,” you smiled back. “I did know who you were before the Shayne Guesses video, you know.”

     “Don’t remind me,” Spencer said, shaking his head.

     “I thought it was sweet,” you told him, laughing. “And if that video had never happened, we wouldn’t be here right now.”

     “Or at Buca Di Beppo tonight at 8?” Spencer said, with trepidation.

     “Or that,” you agreed, nodding. “Are you asking me out on a date, Spencer Agnew?” 

     You felt a blush creeping up your cheeks. 

     “I guess I am,” he said. “Unless you’re going to slap me, in which case no.”

     “Only if the date goes badly,” you teased. “And if you don’t make 100,000 more accounts to subscribe to my channel with.”

     Spencer grinned. “Done. And I can introduce you to the rest of the gang.”

     “Are they good with me crashing your guys’ dinner?” You asked. You couldn’t believe you were going to meet the members of Smosh.

     You couldn’t believe you were going on a date with Spencer. 

     “Oh, they already know about it. They’re listening to every word of our conversation right now.” Spencer pointed a thumb behind him and you looked over his shoulder to see all of the Smosh cast watching you.

     They all waved at you.

     “Hey girl hey!” Kiana called to you, smirking at Spencer. 

     You waved back at them, grinning. 

     “Well, I don’t want to keep you from meet-and-greet-ing any longer,” you said, turning back to Spencer.

     “Isn’t that what we’re doing right now?” Spencer joked, gesturing between the two of you.

     “Doesn’t count,” you said back. “Technically we’ve already met on the internet.”

     “Yeah, well, you’re much prettier in person,” Spencer said, as he backed up towards the rest of the Smosh cast.

     “Well then,” you said, only a little bit breathless. “I guess I’ll see you tonight.”

     “Unless I see you on the internet first,” Spencer said, turning around and walking away. 

     You couldn’t wait. Not only did you have your date with Spencer to look forward to, you also had the rest of VidCon to get to know Spencer better and hopefully hang out with him before all this was over. 

     You turned to leave as well, walking in the opposite direction of Spencer as you tried to think where you had to be next. It was hard to focus when all your thoughts were occupied by something else. Someone else.

     You were almost out of earshot when you heard Kiana’s voice, carrying over the crowds of people.

     “Get over here, loser. I’ll take my thanks in the form of cash and/or worsted weight yarn.”

josh washington mementos/headcanons/etc

- a baseball cap from the first baseball game his dad took him to as a little boy

- would often beg hannah and beth to come to his games and to play with him in the summer ( + he was very involved in their lives and was the type to show up at parent teacher conferences because it annoyed them lol)

- dvd collections of his favorite movies (mostly horror /his dads films + he has a couple barbie movies because han made him watch them when he was younger)

- chris got him into video games in elementary school but josh eventually found his niche to be ambient horror games

- a sketch of a forest sam was going to throw away but josh couldn’t believe she considered it “bad” and kept it (+ a sketch of him)

- i think the color scheme of his clothing/room is gray, dark blue, umber, evergreen

- a stack of notebooks with storyboard drafts, doodles, prop designs

(he’s never shared them bc he doesn’t think they’re good enough and would rather a have “real” career than indulge in his silly producer dreams hence why he opts to take psychology in college + he thinks it will help him understand himself better since therapy/his healthcare provider have failed him)

- i think he takes halloween so seriously (probably prompts the group to do group costumes) and has a collection of costumes that have amounted over the years that he designed himself. i think it’s one of the earlier manifestations of his love for prop/costume design that he can embrace without feeling self conscious

- matching christmas socks that emily & jess bought for all the guys

- obviously a prankster so he has a bunch of those little toys from when he was younger like the gum that zaps your finger, fake insects, candles that don’t blow out etc

- a crocheted bear that beth made him that he always keeps on his bed

- i think he loves snowboarding (often drags chris to go with him) and has his own gear that he intentionally picked out

- a photo album his mom gave him several years ago of him and his sisters growing up. he forgot about it until he found it at the back of his closet after the twins died :(

- he is so good at deflecting and can mask his emotions very well (i think there can be some wonderful symbolism in josh’s love for costume/mask design and his ability to mask his true feelings to play a part in someone’s story)

- his mom became reserved after the death of the twins. she used to be beloved by the group but with conflicting grief/guilt/and sympathy everyone feels, she stops talking to them. i think josh’s dad blames him to an extent if only subconsciously (bc josh was drunk & passed out + he’s the oldest and was “responsible” for things going smoothly) but it bubbles to the surface when they argue. josh doesn’t like coming to his dad about his mental health bc he minimizes it and i think after the twins disappearance his mom checks out when it comes to josh’s wellbeing.

help i just rewatched dnp tell the truth and i have questions about the apartment because i thought i understood but then the way they talked about it confused me for some reason

so they seemed to imply that the “fake” apartment was mostly for shooting gaming videos then they talked about not wanting to shoot videos in front of their actual beds. i had assumed that they filmed in the fake apartment and never showed us the real apartment outside of occasional clips (like what they mentioned when they reacted to the pinofs) but now i’m second guessing myself lol. so do we know if any of their regular filming areas were in the real apartment or was it all in the fake one?

all their regular filming areas (gaming room, dinof room, amazingphil room) were downstairs in the "fake" apartment but they very much filmed in the other one as well just not like, regularly. the mukbang was filmed in their main flat for example, and a lot of just random clips as well. the main thing about the filming flat that made it so funny and such a conspiracy was phil pretending like he slept in the tinyass room he filmed his videos in lmao. like at least dan's filming room was just like, a desk. phil wanted to keep the illusion that he filmed in his bedroom because that's what he'd done for so long but that meant that when it became glaringly obvious they didn't live in the apartment his filming room was in he obviously didn't sleep there and it was just 💀

Another installment of random Sonic Headcanons

Sonic doesn't like buttercream frosting, Tails doesn't like whipped frosting, and Knuckles always wipes 90% of the frosting off his cake

When Tails is doing something, whether it's working in his lab or just making dinner, Sonic will shadow box the air behind him. He stops when Tails turns around to look at him, but the fox very much knows that Sonic is throwing fake punches at him lol

Tails, Cream, and Charmy play animal crossing (or the Sonic equivalent lol) together

Matter of fact, I think like all the characters play video games together. I'm sure they have different types of video games they like (I can see Sonic playing animal crossing but Jet? Not so much) but it's not odd for them to enter an online lobby

I've said this before in this post about shadows development, but I think he sheds a lot. Hedgehogs aren't actually supposed to lose quills unless they're super stressed, but because Shadow's DNA is only partially Mobian Hedgehog, a few things are off

Two questions:

1: Thoughts on Deltarune Toriel and her relationship with Kris alongside what her ultimate in the story will be like? Personally, I think we may get a lot of development with her if she joins us in the chapter 3 Dark World, but that’s just me.

2: Thoughts on also what Asriel’ stole in DR will be like? Considering how much of a fan-favourite he is and how Toby’s definitely aware of that, it feels we might good some subversion thrown out with him, whatever that may be like. Love to hear your thoughts on this as well.

um..... honestly I don't have that many thoughts on either of them as characters in deltarune, haha. as I've said before, I'm not really into making theories for its own sake and most of what I do is just speculating on really vague stuff, based on dialogue and themes- okay so maybe I do make theories LOL I just like doing analysis better, but I really don't have anything new to say about toriel or asriel, that hasn't been said before......

..........except, I'm not totally convinced that asriel actually exists? in deltarune?? like he exists in the lives and memories of the characters obviously, but on a meta level I don't know if he has like. a character file, a sprite, etc, if that makes sense. I dunno, I sort of suspect that might be why kris can't reach him- nothing actually exists outside of hometown and the dark world, because that's all that needs to exist to make the setting of this video game. I kinda hope that's not true because it would make me pretty sad and I'd love to meet an adult asriel, but I can also totally see it happening! on the other hand, that idea has been done before in so many other settings that involve a metanarrative or "fake"/artificial location (I can think of at least three off the top of my head) and I'm sure toby also knows that so he might not go for that angle, or do a different kind of twist on it. after all dess also "doesnt exist" within the game proper outside of other characters referencing her, same as asriel, but she's clearly a physical entity in the code. it might be that rather than not existing at all, asriel just hasn't been "built" yet because it's not time for him to appear, if he's going to. so like- he exists within the story of deltarune and he's just off having fun at college, but outside in the next layer that sits in between the game world and our world, where gaster is doing whatever, he doesnt. gaster (if we're to assume it IS him behind everything) hasn't made him yet. yknow. or hasn't acquired him. toby still has custody. I hope that makes sense

he's a nerdy, sarcastic hipster guy who was on season 17 of the "little celebrity" reality show.

since the season ended, he's gotten super into fitness. with his new reality tv fame (lol) and new physique he's been having a lot of luck in the dating scene. he hasn't found his manic pixie dream girl yet but he's having fun looking. he's also continued working at the bookstore and is now auditioning for more acting and modelling gigs - he thinks he could really have a career in entertainment. he's not selling out, he's doing it in an intellectual and ironic way, obviously. and if it doesn't work out, at least his adventures will be great material for the screenplay he's working on.

a lil concept/design sheet of the gangs' costumes for my deltarune halloween comic! :]

multiple paragraphs of yapping about it under the cut bc i actually put way too much thought into who got which costume lol

i kept a few things in mind while trying to decide each character's costume, the biggest of which were probably A) it should still look good when combined with their dark world outfit B) i wanted them all to be classic halloween monsters (so no other characters like mario or minecraft steve or w/e) C) none of them could dress as a monster who is another major character in ut/dr just cuz i thought it'd be a little weird lol (so no skeletons or ghosts for example) and D) i tried to keep in mind each character's family life/accessibility to a costume in the first place (so kris + noelle have the more elaborate costumes vs berdly and susie having theirs be more low effort/over their normal clothes)

originally i had sketched susie as a zombie/frankenstein sorta creature, but then i remembered susie calling kris the 'school zombie' (plus kris's general zombie-like neutrality) so i ofc switched that over to kris. had the idea that the dark world would make their halloween costumes more 'real' so thats why their brain is out in that one lol

didn't have too many other ideas for susie, as a lot of the ones i was having broke some of the rules i listed above. at first i was thinking maybe werewolf but i felt that the ears/tail might lean a little too cutesy for her, and then i was thinking maybe like godzilla-esque but didn't know how to do that when susie is already vaguley godzilla-esque by herself. i also wanted to keep her costume looking more low-effort due to her parents (if they even exist) probably not caring enough to get a nice costume. which is how we ended up at toilet paper mummy susie

noelle is a witch because i thought it'd be cute + i wanted her to be matching with catti (who i think would also obviously be a witch for halloween). her costume is the most elaborate (complete with matching candy pail), both because i think she'd like dressing up for halloween and well. the mayor's daughter certainly has appearances to keep up doesnt she? (also quite proud of her little shawl changing to look sort of like angel wings in the dark world :] )

berdly i also struggled with. my first impulse was to make him some kinda video game character, but like i said i kind of wanted them all to be more classic halloween monsters, plus i didn't really think any of those ideas would mesh well with his dark world outfit. ended up going with vampire bc i feel like its one of the more nerd-coded halloween monsters out there. i liked drawing his little fake fangs it makes him look silly

Bit of an Ocelot headcanon I've developped recently...

...Is he faking his voice?

Obviously, the reason his voice changed from game to game is because the voice actor changed, duh. But I was watching a playthrough of MGS1 recently, and when Ocelot gets his hand sliced off, the way he says "my hand!" is just a tiiiiny bit high. Don't get me wrong, I've watched enough Markiplier videos to know that even men with deep bassy voice can screech like banshees lol It still took me back to Snake Eater era Ocelot for a brief second and that made me wonder...

Ocelot has spent his life molding himself into whatever he needed to be, but his own personality and tastes still shine through his love of the American old west. The spurs, the revolvers, the way he walks as if he spent his life riding a horse (I'm very surprised we never saw him with a cowboy hat before actually) etc... Cowboy culture is gruff and manly, and I bet a young Ocelot would've wanted to emulate that. And then there's Snake, who speaks with this deep, raspy AF voice. Meanwhile, Ocelot's own speaking voice we can hear at the end of the game in the post credits scene is very smooth and soft.

Would Ocelot go as far as change his voice to best fit the manly cowboy archetype and sound more like Snake? Yes, yes I think he could and he would.

one thing i’ve loved about zelda games is that on the surface it looks like a western knight game but it’s actually a heavily asian-inspired game complete with forest yokai, dragon gods, and literal ninjas. i just love the aesthetic of zelda games. so cool.

also i’m sorry to say but porco rosso is the best ghibli movie, don’t come for me, i love the little red pig more than anything else

You all now, I originally I didn't reblogg because I wanted to comment without engaging in an argument with some reddit coded white knight, who makes his entire identity being obsessively hateful towards the only queer and only female Lord of the game whose entire deal is wanting to abolish feudalism and divine rule.

Now on the other hand, I'm doing it because it became instantly super fun, knowing that it obviously pisses him off. Also I'm doing him a favor by not doing that on Twitter. Like, I had my fair share of over the top edgy takes and bad jokes here on Tumblr, after which I took a pause from it and now decided to make this the site where I'm on my good behavior. I'm a good girl now here. Twitter on the other hand? Ever since Elon took it over, I really don't give a shit about my account there, so thats where I go all out with little fucks to spare, so I really would have gone all out with the M'Lady Fedora chud jokes. It would have been super funny.

And yeah, I don't believe his fake moral outrage, thats literally after I told him how shitty the implications of him justifying Faerghus stealing all the fertile lands of Sreng and forcing them into a frozen desert were, especially in our current day and age. Should I have done it? In retrospect probably not immediately, but he really doubles down and decides tha thet validity of faerghian colonialism, because Faerghus has a right to defend itself, is the hill he wants to die on.

Also he is still all about how brown people lie about racism in his video games, because there is no way that a medieval catholic coded church lead by whiter than white dragon people who view humanity in its entirety as inheritly lesser creatures could ever be xenophobic, lol.

Finally, I still don't know what this deal with this Moonlitboar person was, the only thing I know is that he allegedly said something shitty, got backlash and pissed off afterwards? While...you know...meanwhile Edelgard fans constantly receive targeted harassment, like a fanfiction author being bullied off of social media and even a fanartist getting harassed during a convention recently, and there is constant bait and harassment post in the Edelgard positive tag, not to forget this guy tagging Edelgard even when his posts don't have anything to do with her.

All in all, I get the slight suspicion that this guy is not just a clown. He is the entire Margrave Matthias Raoul Gautier.

One of the things I struggle with because I attract Aquariuses in general is their refusal to be vulnerable. I find that they prioritize self preservation and control over everything, which imprisons them in their own head when all they crave is love. Lol how you gonna experience love without letting go of control and being vulnerable? Make it make sense. So I guess my question is how do you know get an Aquarius moon to open up/how do you know if an Aquarius moon likes you romantically?

Now THIS is a tough one!! I've dated several Aquarius Moons (they are my Gemini Moon's kryptonite, I suppose...) and I still haven't fully figured it out lmfao. You really hit the nail on the head with your whole ask though, pls!! I felt this message too hard, whenever someone refuses to be vulnerable my little Scorpio Sun is like >:(

Honestly, it can be really difficult to tell when Aquarius Moons are into you, especially if they're also an Aquarius Sun, or another air sign (since they often have naturally flirty personalities majority of the time). As you mentioned, they tend to bury and hide away their feelings due to that fear of vulnerability.

For getting an Aquarius Moon to open up, I think there's a few important things:

Be your authentic self | Aquarians have a pretty good radar for fake people. They tend to hate people-pleasers and those who tone down their personalities to cater to others. Be shamelessly yourself, and in turn, they'll feel more comfortable being themselves

Be vulnerable with them first | Create a safe space for difficult conversations and big emotions! If you show them that you trust them enough to be vulnerable, they may do the same

Don't pressure them | Do not pressure an Aquarius to talk about their emotions, that will make them do the opposite. Remind them and prove to them that they can tell you anything, talk about big feelings, and so forth with you any time they need to

Don't beat around the bush | Be very blunt with Aquarians. They hate sugarcoating and passiveness from others; speak what's on your mind around them and they're more likely to do the same

I would say there's a few signs off of the top of my head, to tell that an Aquarius placement, especially Aquarius Moon, likes you:

They're open about their feelings/are vulnerable around you, at least at times

They bring up personal/sensitive topics that Aquarians usually hate talking about (ie: tough family life, struggles with inner self)

They start getting "clingy" with you (they ask to hang out often, they don't let the conversations burn out, etc)

They do things to intentionally get a reaction out of you! Aquarius placements tend to be very sarcastic + instigate the people they love. They like getting (usually harmless) reactions out of the people they're interested in

They go out of their way to make your life easier. As humanitarian as Aquarius placements are, they're not the biggest "people persons" out there. If they're actively doing small acts of service for you, acting chivalrous (specifically when that's not their typical character; this can really depend on their entire chart) - can be a big sign they're interested in you

They put an effort into your interests: they download the video game you said you liked, they watch the TV series you recommended, they listen to that song you keep looping - even though it may not be their type of thing

Honestly though, if you want to find out whether an Aquarius Moon likes you, you may have to make the first move (like very very obviously flirt with them) to get their attention/make them realize there's something there, or you may have to flat-out confess your feelings first.
