Raveeennn!!! When u said Malleus isn’t as popular in JP than it is in the English/int. server, who would you say takes up that #1 spot in the JP fan base? if you know.

It's hard to calculate for certain since there are no official Twst popularity polls (though there are several unofficial polls run by Japanese magazines or websites, with thousands of votes and mixed results) However, I have consistently seen Floyd in the top or second place spot overall, and he has a TON of yume works on Pixiv (~15.5k), whereas Malleus only has around 3k. Other popular characters include Jade at 12k, Azul at 10k, and Idia and Leona at 7k+. For reference, there are ~5k Ace yume works on Pixiv, which is more than Malleus despite Ace often badly losing to Malleus in EN popularity polls. This indicates that Ace may overtake Malleus in the JP fandom. I think it's also worth noting that, in 4 consecutive years of yumejoshi polling, Idia and Trey were the only Twst characters to appear in all 4 years whereas Malleus only appeared in one year (while both Octavinelle members and Ace appeared twice each). I've actually previously speculated on the cultural differences between JP and EN and why it might have resulted in Malleus being so popular in EN and Trey is popular in JP. In most JP character popularity polls (which typically feature only students and staff) I've seen, Malleus ranks 9th or lower. Meanwhile, it feels like you can't walk two steps in the EN fandom without running into a post showering Malleus with love. Malleyuu is the most popular reader insert ship on AO3 and, in one fan-run poll considering 46 characters, Malleus still won over 50% of the votes (though please note the sample size is much smaller than what you’d find in a JP poll). Second and third places (Idia and Azul) only got ~33% apiece by comparison. As you can see, there is a very noticeable gap in Malleus’s popularity between the JP and EN fandoms.

Is it weird that I like to make a heart with my hands despite being a loveless aro? I do this a lot because I think it's cute, but not for reasons related to love or romance.
it's just an action, it doesn't have to be that deep. hearts may have an association with love, but they're also a shape and just a cultural thing. you do you.

Suzu how does it feel to know you own Scaramouche’s whores in this app like a bunch of dogs in heat?
first, guys, i promise i will write tomorrow. i just couldn't get the cogs turning today 😑
on that note though, i blushed when i read this. this a high compliment to me. starting this blog was my first sense of some kind of independence after my mom died. i never expected my little blog to get as big as it has or even anyone to notice my writing at all. my writing, believe it or not never really got noticed when i was in highschool or my brief time in college, so the fact i get this kind of title attached for a character i am very very dedicated to makes me very happy.
everyone, thank you so so much for all your continued love and support. from the bottom of my heart 🥺❤️

What's your dream lineup for the MCU X-Men?
Honestly? I hate the MCU movies.
I have zero excitement for X-Men because Disney definitely won’t let directors DO “Claremont-esque 80’s space soap opera X-Men or Grant Morrison’s batshit crazy era.
Even “X-Men ‘97” I dislike because I don’t like the pacing (the original series did a better job at “sitting with” certain comic stories and decades for a while)….
I was someone who was pissed about FOX being bought out- I LOVED Logan and the first Deadpool and was excited about the possibility of an “X-23” film or “Multiple Man” film…
Even the original X-Men films, I thought were fine, even if they weren’t as good as the comics- directors at least showcased powers in an interesting way and films like “DoFP” I thought did a great job at humanizing Xavier (something the comics consistently fail at)
Even FF, which was the supposed “benefit” of Disney having full rights, looks like it’s going to bomb- it’s not like we’re getting a cool Doom out of this Capitalistic merger.
Truthfully- I feel like MCU and WB is running super hero films into the ground and will inevitably kill the genre in a year or two, with how things are going.

Situation: two people are on a sidewalk. They're both going in the same direction. One person (Y) is farther behind, but they move a bit faster than the person (Z) ahead of them; so if everything continues as it had been, there'll be this awkward moment where Y is right behind Z for a while, then the awkward moment continues when Y is right in front of Z for a while, until eventually the differences in their speeds means that Y gets far enough in front of Z that it's no longer awkward. Has anyone ever come up with a good solution for this, for either Y or Z? (For Y, "speeding up for a bit so that you don't linger by Z" is LESS awkward, but still awkward.)

Do you think twst has any chance to make at least one fan ship canon? Like for example they hint on someone from nrc main cast is dating, or even something deeper with yuu. Or absolutely nothing of that happens because it's a disney game at the end?
Tumblr media
No way, absolutely not 😂 They'll always tease it, but never actually commit to it. That's why Ace has an ex and not a current girlfriend (the other part of it is just him being an asshole). That's why Eliza/the Ghost Bride doesn't actually marry Idia; only expresses an interest in him but ultimately settles for someone else. That's why Vil has several adoring fans but those fans are not depicted as gunning for him as their boyfriend/husband (when the most crazed of fans irl would). That's why Lilia confessed to Maleanor but she chose someone else and later died (while the other person Lilia "loves", Raverne, went missing), thus "freeing" Lilia up. That's why Cater always talks about cute girls (and even fellow peers) but doesn't go out of his way to act on those flirtations. This has less to be with "oh, it's Disney" and more to do with the genre of the game (joseimuke). If anything, I feel like people might expect there to be canonized romance because it's Disney--a company closely associated with happily ever afters and fairy tales--not expect no canonized romance. However, a joseimuke game often presents characters in a platonic or questionably platonic light so the players can project whatever relationships with the characters they wish, whether that’s between the character and themselves, between the character and an OC, or between character and character. To canonize a "love interest" for a character hampers the self-insert appeal for fans of that character. There have been multiple instances of gacha fanbases becoming upset when the games try to introduce a "canon" or even a “rival” love interest for a beloved waifu, husbando, etc. because it makes fans of the now "taken" character feel ignored, rejected, or generally (for lack of a better term) "cheated on". That goes for shipping between the player or an OC and the character as well as shipping the characters with one another. This would also potentially upset the fans who headcanon the characters as a certain sexuality and/or with a certain dynamic in mind. I'd imagine Twst would want to avoid this at all costs, as it causes drama in the fandom and could eat into their profit margins.
I'm also very much against the idea that one character will be the romantic "end game" for Yuu. I often see one particular character (who shall not be named, as I do not want to stoke unnecessary discourse) being hawked as "the canon love interest", but if I'm being honest those kinds of claims make me uncomfortable. In stating one character is "the canon love interest" (even as a joke), it unintentionally invalidates those who don't wish to be forced to "be" with that character, and especially if they have a preference for someone else. This would be even worse if ever canonized; fans of that ship will rejoice but everyone else would be dissatisfied. Again, it just hinders the self-insert design of joseimuke games and is extremely counterintuitive in that regard.

Bruce: My cousin's a lesbian. Maybe you know her?
Renee: It doesn't work like that. We don't all know each other.
Bruce: She lives in the Diamond District. Her name's Kate. She has a black and red motorcycle.
Renee: *walks away so she doesn't have to tell him they've been dating since 2013*
