Welcome To My Ramblings

Hi, I am ImpishMisconception.

I am 37 years old, just had my birthday on September 1st. I am single and I don't have any children. I live in Toronto Ontario Canada.

I don't work, I live on ODSP (disability) as my only source of income.

My pronouns are she/her and they/them. (These pronouns may change and I will update them if need be as I continue discovering myself.)

I am a Cis female and for now identify as Cis female (which may change or may not, I do not know right now.)

I am Asexual and Bi-romantic. (This is subject to change as I learn more about myself, I maybe Bisexual or Panromantic or Pansexual. I don't know right now.)

I have Autism, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Depression, Anxiety, and Vertigo.

I was homeschooled by Christian (Protestant) Conservative parents and indoctrinated into Christianity.

I am now an Atheist and have been for about four years now.

My hobbies are going for walks, reading, playing hidden object games, playing Mahjong, playing The Sims, listening to music, daydreaming, watching YouTube videos, watching movies, and watching reruns of the TV shows Granada's Sherlock Holmes starring Jeremy Brett, Mash, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, and Star Trek TNG.

and i agree with everything you’ve said. i also tend to feel like matt leans on oliver a lot which leads to ollie taking the fall and brunt of most things + taking on more than he should, since he knows ollie will pick up his slack.

oh you bet, thanks for asking! it's stuff i like to think about and its nice to talk to someone about it (and normally i don't bite, save for when I lose sleep/am travelling and am feeling paranoid about strangers asking for personal info, sorry anon from last week! but dms also are ok for things like that because then i feel more like im having a conversation and less like im performing for an invisible audience)

and yeah ol hits close to home for me so when i'm not drawing him Silly or using him as a strawman which is most of the time (sorry), he tends to be a reflection of my own anxieties about being Professional and being Forced into the Leadership Role but Also Not Delegating it because he Doesn't Trust Anyone Else etc etc, and he tends to also be a projection of the anxieties of simultaneously defining what being Canadian is and having to embody that while also realizing that its kind of milquetoast or built on sand and arbitrary and completely made up and Not the universal unifying magic bullet it is supposed to be but what the fuck else is he supposed to do, which is a theme that i have been mulling over.... well, since i was like, nine and left the country.

likewise bert hits close to home for me because..... home, so when i write him its usually expressing a frustration at the way things are/have been, and kind of satirizing the State of Things. It is difficult for me to not make him a complete wreck and I tend to focus on his toxic sides because it's Very Personal for me, but I don't want my vent comics to be like, the only version of him out there either? it's also hard for me because i feel like simultaneously i am the person who is the first to point out his faults and flaws because i can't escape them, but i'm also the person who is trying to love him unironically without shame through gritted teeth, hahaha...

so i mean even if everything i say rings true or doesn't, it's not the be all end all of their characterization, what i say is just more filtered through Me and My Experiences and I fully acknowledge that and you're also welcome to take things in another direction. lord knows i am in my own very specific rut right now that contributes to a lot of blocks i have. [and my authority on Albertanness has to be tempered with other Albertans, remember that time all the albertans got angry at me for the song i used on the i am alberta video LOL]

#161 Ken & Barbie asesinos: los vídeos perdidos de los asesinatos (2021)

Karla Homolka fue a la comisaria para denunciar a su marido por haberla golpeado con una linterna en la casa. Karla temía por su vida, y tenía motivos, era lo que le decía a la policía. Su marido Paul Bernardo era una persona horrible y podía demostrarlo.

En 1993 Karla Homolka denunció ante la policía que su marido era el violador de Scarborough una serie de 9 violaciones denunciadas, donde un hombre abordaba, humillaba, golpeaba y violaba a mujeres durante 1987 y 1988 a mujeres de entre 14 y 21 años. Era cruel y maniático, pero fue clasificado con cara de buen chico. Así establecieron el retrato robot.

En 1987 Paul Bernardo conoció a Karla Homolka, él tenía 23 años y ella 17, se dice que la sedujo, la agasajo con regalos y la llevó en una nube de algodón. Había tanta química y tanta complicidad que en su viaje de bodas en Hawái en 1991 le confesó que era el violador de  Scarborough lo que, según el propio Bernardo, no la asustó, sino todo lo contrario, le resultó atrayente.

Paul abandonó  Scarborough cuando conoció a Karla y de ahí que las violaciones en la zona pararan, ahora empezaba otro reino del terror, donde se establecieron como matrimonio. Y es que al principio vivían en el sótano de sus suegros mientras ahorraban para su propia casa.

Cuando Paul conoció a Karla, esta no era virgen y eso lo tenía desesperado, y como Karla tenía dos hermanas que se le parecían tanto, Lori y Tammy, le pareció bueno proponerle a su casi esposa (era la Navidad de 1990) que le entregara la virginidad de su hermana pequeña de 15 años. Durante los últimos meses Paul se había obsesionado con ella y era la mejor manera de empezar su matrimonio y el mejor regalo de Navidad. Ese sería el final de Tammy Homolka.

Esa noche Tammy se quedó a solas con Paul y Karla, le dieron alcohol y la durmieron con etanol, que su hermana había robado de la clínica veterinaria donde trabajaba, la sedaron y Paul la violó con el beneplácito de su novia. El abuso de la sustancia y ponerla sobre la cara de Tammy hizo que esta vomitara el alcohol y se ahogara mientras Paul y Karla lo grababan todo.

La autopisa determinó que Tammy murió ahogándose en su propio vómito al pasarse bebiendo y a Paul y Karla eso les vino muy bien. Había esquivado las acusaciones y ahora tenían un video con el que conmemorar los abusos que ambos ejercieron sobre la adolescente, más adelante todo el mundo descubriría, incluido la familia Homolka, que su hija mayor participó activamente en los crímenes de Paul Bernando que, desde luego, solo había hecho que empezar.

Un mes después de que Tammy fuera asesinada, Paul y Karla salieron del sótano de los Homolka y se fueron a su propia casa, para después casarse en una ceremonia del sueño.

Más adelante, en las cintas de video, se descubriría una cinta sexual consentida entre el matrimonio Bernardo, donde Karla imitaba la voz, los gestos y llevaba la ropa de Tammy para la satisfacción sexual de su marido. Karla participó activamente, de forma burlona, sobre la memoria de su hermana pequeña.

El 15 de junio de 1991, Paul mataría otra vez, esta vez a Leslie Mahaffy de 14 años de edad, a quien secuestró y violó ese mismo día. Luego la asesinaría y descuartizaría su cuerpo, para tirar los restos en el lago Gibson cerca de St. Catharines, Ontario.

Los restos de Mahaffy fueron descubiertos el mismo día de la boda de Paul y Karla, según testificaría ella más adelante, Paul se encontró a Leslie en la calle mientras merodeaba buscando una víctima y la trajo a casa, despertando a Karla para decirle que tenía una chica atada en el sótano.

El 16 de abril de 1992, con la ayuda de su esposa Karla, Paul secuestraría a Kristen French, de 15 años de edad. Luego, la expondría a tres días de calvario en los que fue violada y torturada, hasta que encontró la muerte por tanto maltrato. Su cuerpo fue hallado en un camino vecinal, dos semanas después de desaparecer camino a su escuela.

Los detalles de estos crímenes son horribles, Leslie y Kristen eran apenas dos adolescentes que sufrieron lo inimaginable a manos de dos monstruos. En esas circunstancias, Paul se mostraba tal y como era un sádico sexual, torturador, con un horrible temperamento agresivo.

Justo por esto, cuando Karla Homolka se presentó en la comisaria acusando a su marido de ser el violador de Scarborough entendió que lo mejor era decir que sabía que existían cintas con las agresiones de Leslie y Kristen. Dos crímenes que la policía sospechaba que estaban relacionados, pero que no sabía por donde tirar, exactamente igual que pasó en Scarborough. Pero no dijo nada de la muerte de su hermana Tammy.

Paul fue detenido y se presentó como una víctima inocente a la que su mujer despechada le había denunciado sin pruebas. Paul había escondido las cintas, sabiendo que su libertad dependía de que su mujer no testificara en contra de él, así que se guardó las espaldas y de esto va realmente el documental. De como Karla Homolka engañó a todos.

Paul Bernado es escoria, un violador, abusador, torturador y asesino de adolescentes que merece su cadena perpetua y morirse en la cárcel como la basura que es, ojalá no vea nunca la luz del sol y se pudra lentamente. Y hasta aquí la narrativa de Paul Bernardo.

Pero, ¿qué hay de Karla Homolka? Que se mostró colaborativa, inocente y sumisa, como con su marido. Y la policía se lo creyó. Entraron en la casa de los Bernardo, la pusieron patas arriba, miraron dentro de los colchones, entre las paredes, el destrozo en la casa causado por la frustración de no encontrar las cintas dejó a los policías exhaustos y sin nada.

Paul informó a sus abogados de donde se encontraban las cintas, estaban en el baño, en la lámpara, si la desenroscaban encontrarían la parte hueca entre los dos pisos y ahí estirando mucho el brazo estaba una bolsa con las 6 cintas.

Cuando la policía acabó en la casa sin nada, entraron los abogados de Bernardo y recuperaron las cintas, las visionaron y descubrieron el horror. Lo cruel y sádicos que fueron el matrimonio Bernardo contra Tammy, Leslie, Kristen y una cuarta chica que llamaron Jane Doe.

Pero Karla ya había conseguido luchar por su acuerdo, en él aceptaba 12 años de cárcel, 5 por Leslie, 5 por Kristen y 2 por Tammy. Un chollo si no habías visto las cintas y no sabías que Karla era igual de horrible que Paul, que se complementaban, como en todos los aspectos de la vida.

En el juicio salió todo el horror, los abogados de Bernardo iban a acusar a Karla, pero ella ya había firmado su acuerdo, por ello cuando durante una de las sesiones del juicio se visualizaron las horribles cintas. La defensa de Bernardo aseguró que pese a la crueldad de su defendido y lo agresivo que era durante los años que fue el violador de Scarborough nunca asesinó a ninguna mujer. Es más, fue Karla Homolka quien llevó a su amiga Jane Doe a la casa, la drogó y se la entregó a Bernardo para que ambos "jugaran con ella" pero que esa joven salió con vida de la casa.

Las muertes de Leslie y Kristen las produjo Karla, según Bernardo, mientras él salía a comprar comida y gasolina, o cuando se preparaba para soltarlas. Y en el caso de Tammy fue su esposa la que robó los sedantes, y se los aplicó directamente en la cara de su hermana.

Pero Karla Homolka era lo único que tenía la fiscalía para ir en contra de Bernardo, ya que él mismo tenía los vídeos. Así que Paul Bernardo fue sentenciado a cadena perpetua sin posibilidad de salir, y Karla fue tratada como una víctima más de su marido. Sumisa, complaciente, obediente... Nada que ver como se mostraba en los videos, donde, en ocasiones, llevaba la iniciativa y era cruel y malvada con las chicas.

Cuando se cumplieron los 12 años, Karla salió de la cárcel y su familia prefirió creer que Bernardo manipuló y golpeó a su hija durante años, antes de asumir que esta tuviera un rol activo en la muerte de su propia hermana. Y pensándolo bien, era lo mejor. Karla se fue, aprendió francés, se casó con el hermano de su abogado y tuvo 3 hijos, participó ocasionalmente en actividades en el colegio sin que nadie supiera quién era realmente. Cuando la prensa la descubrió fue un revuelo y la ciudad se volvió en contra de ella (que cambió su apellido). Karla Homolka no debería estar cerca de adolescentes.

Incluso realizó una entrevista en francés donde se mostró de nuevo como una víctima de su exmarido, pero ¿lo fue? Ella dice que durante años la tuvo amenazada no solo para que participara de sus horribles deseos, sino para que no se le ocurriera delatarle.

Nadie pone en duda lo horrible de Paul Bernardo, no hay ni un atisbo de duda respecto a su maldad, su crueldad y su oscuro ser. Pero Karla... las cintas se destruyeron para no vapulear más la memoria de Leslie, Kristen y Tammy. Esas jóvenes merecían descansar después de tanto horror, y ese era el mejor final para todo el mal que generaba el matrimonio Bernardo. Pero la sociedad no está preparada para entender que existe la posibilidad de que Karla fuera una sociopatía capaz de disfrutar el dolor de otras personas cuando su marido lo infligía, pero que no quería ser su víctima directa. Las amigas de Karla (de entonces) aseguran que ella ya era golpeada antes del matrimonio. O quizás ella también sabía jugar su papel de víctima.

Parece que nadie puede entender que es posible que al matrimonio le gustara el sexo duro de manera consensuada, pero que el temperamento horrible y las dinámicas sexuales establecidas y depravadas de Paul se salieron de control conforme Karla se mostró cooperativa y sumisa, y que para no pagar con ella sus frustraciones encontró en las víctimas una manera de que Paul se desquitara sin ser ella la que lo sufriera, y que cuanto más participativa se mostrara más lejos estaría de ser ella el blanco del odio hacia las mujeres que tenía su marido. Pero eso no hace a Karla inocente, la hace culpable cuando no hizo nada para detener toda aquella espiral de dolor, tortura y muerte.

Los que visualizaron la cinta quedaron traumados ante lo horrible de la pareja, y esto conmocionó a un país, pero ¿se puede salir indemne de algo así?
