Ferngully. At least 3 of our 10 were all Ferngully. I have no idea why we had so many copies, but apparently we taped it off the telly at least 3 times.

We also had a few weird tapes we got from our granddad that had a random bunch of cartoons and animated shorts on them. This was how we watched the Ukrainian Cossacks cartoon from the 60s, along with a terrifying cartoon about a pincushion man massacring a city of balloon creatures, and a stopmotion animation about a little keychain toy miner who got dropped down a crevasse from a hikers belt into a cave system. Those ones I haven't been able to find again on my own? And I'm not sure how my granddad got them in Ireland in the 90s either, but got them he did!

Later we went to Xtravision so we had a wider range of things.

We visited ours (a local independent video rental store, not a Blockbuster) every weekend to pick out some movies en familia. It was there that my dad found a copy of "Paint Your Wagon" and reacted in shocked disbelief that we hadn't heard of it. He rented it on the spot and it went on to be one of my favourite musicals.
