What a lot of folk forget (because of 9/11) was that the Trade Centre Towers were hated by the general public and were seen as an eyesore. There were talks in the early 2000s to update and modernise the Trade Centre (mostly the Plaza) for the mid 2000s but that never happened for obvious reasons.

Personally, I think The Towers look nice. Well, that’s just me.

i feel like we don't appreciate these days how much the twin towers sucked, like, design-wise

they were contemporarily hated for just being these giant grey monoliths

like there probably could've been an easier way to get rid of them, but they probably needed to go either way
