Food Fantasy is a funny game because despite its heavy nostalgia factor it’s objectively kind of shit gameplay wise, as well as the fact that the developers just blatantly stopped caring about the global players (completely discontinued EN voiceovers among other things), but also because it has me saying shit like “I think Rum and Mapo Tofu should aggressively make out” and “Do you think Tiramisu and Vodka have explored each other’s bodies” and “Cloud Tea really hit the cuntagon”

There was a time when mum and I patronized LeNu Chef Wai’s Noodle Bar (樂牛私房面家) often. Then there was a lull period of many months before we had dinner there again. As with previous trips, I will top up a few dollars for the Apple Black Tea and Silken Tofu with Century Egg (皮蛋豆腐) appetizer. Mum just requested for her usual Braised Beef Tendon Dry Noodle (红烧牛筋干捞面) which is dry style noodles and beef tendons topped with crispy sesame seeds crusted anchovies and crunchy peanuts on strips of cucumber and seaweed.

As for me, I went with the soup option of Braised Beef Combination Noodle (红烧牛三宝面). The bowl of beef noodles came with wagyu beef, springy beef tendon and shank meat with pickled sour vegetable in a flavourful and wholesome dark brown broth.

Din Tai Fung (ディンタイフォン) at Tenjin

Dessert was my dinner at Din Tai Fung in Tenjin, and it was an absolute treat! I go here quite often—not for the bubble tea that everyone raves about, but for their tofu desserts, which are always so smooth and delightful. This time, though, I decided to branch out and try their parfait for the first time, and it didn’t disappoint! It wasn’t just pretty but packed with surprises—layers of creamy sweetness and a touch of tea jelly for a refreshing twist. The little jug of black tea to pour over instead of syrup added a fragrant depth that made each spoonful feel so sophisticated. Of course, I couldn’t skip the mini tofu with tapioca, my go-to order, perfectly balancing silky and chewy textures. Dessert for dinner might just be my best habit yet!

had the most delightful halloween weekend in years ♡ saturday, i attended a book festival where i got listen to a panel of contemporary romance authors speak about the history of the genre (lots of talk on gothic horror romance). then spent the rest of the day doing a bunch of spooky festivities— witchy wine tasting, pumpkin patch beer garden moment, and a night of indulging various hors d'oeuvres ౨ৎ

then had had a much needed slow sunday... slept in, ordered brunch to go, took a long lavender bath, mostly read throughout the day, baked banana pumpkin bread, and binge watching sabrina the teenage witch ⋆ ˚｡⋆୨🎃୧ ⋆ ˚｡⋆
