It's ace week and SGB has a variety of aspec characters, so I figured it's a good time for a new promo post!

This is an AroAce!Matsukawa centric coming of age story that focuses on the following things:

-having a father with high expectations and very narrow minded ideals

-trying and repeatedly failing to live up to those expectations despite a great deal of effort

-eventually realizing it was never possible to live up to those expectations

-the ways people change (or refuse to change) over the course of their lives

-how relationships evolve when feelings and circumstances become more complex

-to whom loyalty is owed and at what cost

-not understanding what the big deal is with romance and sex, but also thinking those things are unavoidable because everyone makes it seem like that

-finding people who are similar, understanding, and supportive

-a long journey of self-discovery and (eventual) self-acceptance

Generally speaking, it has fluff, light-hearted events, occasional silliness, emotional moments (of both the pleasant and unpleasant variety), humor, and angst.

It's also, and I cannot stress this enough, a slow burn. So slow. So very slow. As of right now it's 383k words, and it's around halfway done. That kind of slow.

So yeah, give it a look, let it draw you in.

baking never feels more like science to me than when i'm trying to cobble together an intricate multi step recipe together from several different recipes and tutorials online because the recipe I'm imagining doesn't exist....

#genuinely feels like a science experiment making something fancier than a frosted layer cake #have to do all kinds of volume and weight conversions because one recipe is japanese and the other is indian and the other is english lmfao #none of the recipes are probably the exact volume I need so i might have to make some minis with my extra stuff #i have to find a very precise sheet pan size tomorrow for the patterned cake i'm gonna use as the outer bit #otherwise i'll have to make my own from parchment paper??? or tin foil??? man idk.....#i had to write out all of my instructions and ingredient lists so i don't have to go between 6 different websites tomorrow/sat #i had to do research on fucking. gelatine 😭because it's impossible to find gelatine sheets here and they're used in EVERY mousse recipe #and there's apparently a huge debate on what the ACTUAL conversion of sheet gelatine to powdered gelatine is for baking #I also had to type up like an exact order to make each component because most need a significant amount of cooling time #grayson im gonna try my hardest to make you this fancy ass lemon cake and i pray i succeed this time where i failed on my own birthday #2 yrs ago but also i think this will go better bc i'm not doing a jelly insert or a candied mirror glaze #I'm also making my own candied lemons and lemon curd even though i don't have to #mostly because i wanna try doing it and the sheer power of getting to say i made the whole thing from scratch *#minus the actual cake mix because i don't have a good from scratch cake track record and box mixes are so so reliable #and i have too many moving parts to worry about finding a new cake recipe #every fucking cake recipe now is a fucking genoise sponge for SOME REASON #which is NOTORIOUSLY DIFFICULT AND A HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS BECAUSE IT USES NO RISING AGENTS #i want to throttle whoever it was that made online recipe people turn to only using variations of a genoise sponge for their cake recipes #honestly i need to maybe join the baking subreddit and ask for some good old baking/cookbooks with reliable baking recipes #ones that aren't crazy labor intensive for fucks sake i'm not a french patisserie #my stuff #it would be cool to one day have baked enough and have enough know how of how standard baking recipe components work #so i can just come up with my own recipes on my own #and just use whatever flavors i want #i feel like i would enjoy being a baker except if i had to make wedding cakes

i think it would be very funny if lime kept stealing all of mochis side quests because he thinks theyre fun even though he doesnt need any of the rewards and everyone is pissed because they could actually use the things she gives in exchange but lime keeps fucking taking all the side quest resources before anyone has a chance to report back

personally i like to envision a time where matt tries to be a dick and rags on foggy for his snacks and foggy just shoots back asking matt what's with the large coke sitting on his desk then. that's the second large coke i've seen grace your desk this week. and it's not even a bottle you got at the store that's a cup. that's a large cup. should i mention the can in the garbage too. and matt shuts up from there for the afternoon.

The little primrose that I have seems to bloom sporadically all year around as long as I bring it inside and don't let it freeze #in the winter. This was a flower that came up randomly like mid november lol #3. Rainbow where you can see a little bit of a second rainbow near the bottom of it :0 #4. CHILDREN.... love to see them.....#5. Halloween Candy ranking tierlist. not important enough to post on it's own. so throwing it in with one of these I guess lol #I am also not really a candy person at all and prefer bready stuff like cakes rather than chocolate bars (if I even have to have sweets #at ALL which usually I prefer savory food). I suspect the apple is controversial but.. I do love apples .... huzzah #actually am having applle and peanut butter snack right now as I'm writing this lol #6. Various bowls/cups/etc. that I got from a store at COMPLETELY different times like.. years apart from each other #yet at some point realized that they all mostly match in paint color and seem to be part of the same pattern #But I totally didnt make that connection until a few years ago when I was putting up dishes. I just bought them all invidually because it's #like 'oh cool! a cat' *1 year later* 'oh cool! a cat!' etc. lol.. I guess it must be a popular design if it's been around being sold that #long.#7. carne asada burrito and matcha bubble tea... oughhgh.... again one of my very rare meals where I actually go and get something..#probably my favorite meal currently. Something about the Chronic Anemia makes me crave beef burritos madly despite only having one #maybe twice a year or so ghjbhj.. plus the beans.... onions.... many of my Diet Forbidden foods... Also of course the little aishas #are there.... somehow they shall split the meal together even though it's like 10x bigger than their bodies.. they are also hungry #and vastly anemic... huzzah to them...#8. I've had this shirt for a long time but it fits very weird so I can never find a way to use it in outfits?? But I recently had #an appointment where a doctor needed to be able to look at my back and it's one of the only actual Shirts that I have (mostly i just own #long robes or tunics or jumper dress type of things that would be hard to lift up or etc. like... I dont even own a single normal 't-shirt'#or anyting aside from one giant tshirt that I sleep in in the summer lol.) So I wore this there.. #i got some more gf foods tho #and safe foods w less gluten than my other safe foods #did u know there is canned chicken noodle soup except instead of chicken there is RICE :O #i don't like many soups so i didn't notice at first #but i might have a new safe food here soon #i got a few to try #and #i got veggie straws as my designated gf easy reach snack #it might be better than my designated gluten snack👀#ALSO AND #i got THREE count 'em THREE types of gf chicken nuggets in the freezer rn #one is the old one i'm almost out of #and the store didn't have those so i got two of my other fave gf chicken nuggets and one has hidden veggies in it #they're all my baby grills #ALSO ALSO #I GOT #KING ARTHURS GLUTEN FREE FLOUR AND LACTOSE FREE CHOCO CHIPS #i make cookies like. twice a week so i will try making gf ones #i know i don't mind the texture of gf cookies and cakes so it should still be safe #and i got gf dry pasta but i remember those are kinda funky so we'll see #i coulda gotten rice noodles but idk i didnt wanna this time. i'll save that for asian store trips #im very very excited for the rice soup bc if i like it then a lot of gf safe foods are gonna get replaced i feel it in my bones #you can't compete with chicken rice and clear broth #it's tasty AND won't piss off my stomach in any way #no gluten no lactose just vibes god bless peace and love on planet earth #and it's fast and easy #there's some protein carbs and veggies #AND high sodium for my pots #pizza rolls could never✋✋✋✋✋✋#handmadeorganicpost
