reminds me of this set of panels in B&R vol. 2, when Damian is so angry at Bruce for giving him a dog to “teach him responsibility” and, despite every previous scene of Damian being hyper-violent towards everyone and everything around him, he never shows any of that to his new dog. Sure, he’s annoyed at his puppy (read: annoyed at Bruce), but he’s gentle as he pushes Titus away - letting him bump on his elbow, pushing him with only the flat of his palm and without any real force. Compare to the previous scenes of Damian gleefully beating the shit out of criminals or killing a bat in the Cave, this is the first subtle look we get into Damian’s patience with his pets

This panel really manages to show Damian's patience and gentleness. Look at his arm, all scratched and bleeding yet not a single hand laid on the kitten Alfred gifted him.

Alfred: Catnip. It's medicinal.

Titus, opening the bag: Why is it glowing?

Alfred: Those are the medicinal properties.

Ace: Have you been seeing Dex-Starr again? I told you, that cat is bad news.

Haley: Who's Dex-Starr?

Alfred: Not relevant. Just help me hide it before our human sees.

Bat-Cow: How about inside the haystack?

Ace: No, it's from a Red Lantern. It could catch fire. Under the floorboards, perhaps.

Alfred: Absolutely not. I was instructed to keep it away from damp environments.

Haley: Why does it matter? Doesn't Damian let you have catnip?

Alfred: Catnip is fine. Damian doesn't want me being around Dex-Starr.

Haley: Why?

Alfred: It's complicated. Are you gonna help or not?

Titus: I know, Goliath! We can hide it under his bedding.

Alfred: Great idea.

Jerry: *squawks*

I need Bruce to be "Dad with the cat he said he didn't want" with all the batfam pets.

It started with the bats, that he was so afraid of as a kid. He got used to them and sees them as family now, and they let him pet them? Bats think he is one of them. (In canon, anytime Bruce meets bats creature, they finish by seeing him as one of them. It's so funny, he is just some guy that bats love)

Then there was Ace. Dick wanted a dog, Bruce said no, because they don't have the time for a dog! And yet, he got one. In my canon, Ace is Bruce's support dog they got after Jason's death, so when he is alone he isn't really. Anyway, Bruce loves Ace very much. It's the Bathound and not the Batdog because it sounds like "bad dog" and that made Ace sad, he will get you if you call Ace "batdog".

Then there was Damian's army. At this point, he lost the plot. He got a kid with an Al Ghul, what did he expect? Well, they are his grandchildren and he loves them. Cut to him reading alone in the garden surrounded by Damian's pets, you barely can see him with Wiggles and Batcow around him, and the others standing close by and on him. He complains anytime Damian brings a new pet, but he will be caught by the security cam talking to it with a baby voice the same night.

Please I'm begging you for some punchline headcanons/drabble with pets (from the manor or Harley bringing her hyenas as part of the treatment 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Punchline is initially neutral towards animals! They exist, some of them look cool, but that's the extent of it for her when she grows up under the Joker's thumb.

Animals, on the other hand, l o v e her.

Titus, an excellently-trained dog with perfect recall, ignored Damian in favor of sniffing Punchline and headbutting her hand for pets and scritches the first time he ever caught her scent. Punchline, who had never pet a dog before, ended up gently resting her hand on his head and smiling confusedly at him. This led Damian to be one of the first people to willingly guide Punchline upstairs and into Wayne Manor, instead of finding her there after breaking out of her cell again. He introduced her to more of his pets, curious to see what would happen.

Alfred the Cat wound himself between her legs and purred up a storm. Punchline's smile grew more genuine at that, but she just stood there and stared at the cat until Damian introduced her to Ace.

Ace gave her hand several licks, then went into a play bow to encourage her to interact with him. By this point, Damian understood that she didn't know how to do anything with a pet, and spent the day info-dumping animal behaviors and the best care practices to her. Punchline got introduced to another cat, some birds, his pet snake, and Bat Cow.

Bat Cow tried to snuggle up to Punchline. Bat Cow doesn't care about anything except good food and getting groomed, and yet she actively followed Punchline around the grounds. She's like a fucking Disney princess in clown makeup.

"I want to take a more active role in Punchline's rehabilitation, father," Damian demands, before Bruce has the chance to finish stepping through the front door and shrug his coat off after coming home.

Bruce knows the look on his son's face. It's the face he gets when he's just spent several hours tending to his many animals. Bruce only hesitates for a minute before agreeing.

In the weeks that follow, Punchline gets moved fully into the Manor and given a room to stay in so she doesn't have to keep breaking out of the cell. And every morning, without fail, at least one of Damian's pets can be found curled up in bed with her.

I was surprised that no one has ever humanized these cute dogs! I decided to fix this mistake!

and of course I couldn't help but draw those two again. I don't think Jason gets along well with Ace.

So insight to me and then batfamily is I have two dogs one is a husky and one is a mutt of a Shepard and a lab.

My dog (the mix) I am very lucky, wakes up at the slightest noise, will bark if he hears anything. Also extremely protective. I get up he's following me. I relay on him so much day to day.

My husky is lazy, he plays with his ball and fucks with his brother that's about it.

But dogs are useful in the oddest of ways. Anxious, you swear your hearing things , something's there dog is dead to the world all good. Someone's at the door dogs up and paying attention. Don't want to get up have to dog need to go out.

I wonder if for the batfamily how helpful Damain's farm truly is. Comfort after a nightmare, dog is sleeping your safe nothing is coming. Knock at the door you can't maybe bring a weapons here comes Titus.

You swear something crashed but Alfred and Ace are unbothered alright.

Dick who doesn't want to move ever again, Titus has to go out and Damain is no were to be found.

Ace who is laying on Tim or even Jason grounding.

Even batcow who damain can just sleep with she will wake up if something is amiss ok.

You can bring a dog into the bathroom while you shower nothing can walk through that door without them noticing you don't have to leave the shower curtain open.

Bruce who popped a stitch and can't move right "Titus go get Damian" who gets Alfred

Alfred the cat purring on injured people's chest.

Tim who can stay up at night without constant anxiety, Titus is sleeping it's ok.

Animals are the best.

Bruce turns around revealing Titus dressed in a Robin outfit that fits him perfectly. Ace is beside him in full Bathound armor.

Damian: “…”

Bruce: “I also made an extra set of Bathound armor for him…”

Damian: “and you did all this without me?!“

From cows who fight crime, to all the cats who inexplicably find Tim on patrol and even a dragon, there's plenty of animals connected to the BatFamily. But which is the best?

While I'm against the various batfamily canines being used in combat, I think it would be cool to see them used in a search and rescue capacity. More than anything though, they're just really fun to have around, and a nice throw back to an older time.
