STP: Thorn Scarring & Disability
I'm going to gently tap the fandom with a stick: scars are not just a simple cosmetic detail which can be ignored/removed "stylistically" or given to make characters "cool." They impact a person's daily life, confidence, and way of interacting with the world, and need to be handled with consideration. Therefore, as a disabled person with background in accessibility, I think it's my turn to cover this one.
Going to specifically address this with Thorn, but it applies to others as well (not just because she's the most blatant example, but also as she's a character who the fandom likes to "heal" by removing all traces of her scars. Going to address what this implicates below).
Tumblr media
Some important details:
She is deliberately depicted with heavy wounds of a variety of different depths. It can be assumed that they have been accumulated and left open for a significant amount of time.
We know the ones along her hands are the deepest because of Narrator's remark wherein "[she] picks up the blade, slicing through what little skin remains" of her hands and wrists. It is very likely these are not only permanent, but also have the possibility of muting or eliminating tactile sensation in her fingers either temporarily or permanently. She would therefore interact differently with the world if written outside the context of cannon
Further mobility issues may result from the wounds along her limbs. Because scar tissue is less flexible than normal skin, this would further constrict movement.
Some of the shallower ones may heal, yes. But deeper scars typically fade, but not vanish entirely.
This inherently makes Thorn disabled, and removing her scars IS disability erasure.
And it isn't just about physical disability, either. Witch & Thorn deal with removing stigmatization surrounding feminine beauty, and removing that detail does also impede the body positivity which she carries for survivors. Scar victims, especially people with deep scars are often considered "ugly." This especially applies to women, who are expected to cover them up or face value judgements regarding their appearance. The game does the opposite, by placing her hands at forefront within the kiss scene. The reason the kiss is so important is because people who are "non-traditionally" beautiful are still worthy of love - something which Thorn struggles to accept with throughout her route.
Tumblr media
Overall, I think that people need to understand that they're not merely a literary symbol. But even within that context, the message of Thorn's route is that you can't eliminate your past/go back to who you were before, and that's okay. Because even if scars fade, they aren't something we can simply pretend didn't happen. They remain a part of us throughout the rest of our life, but we don't need to keep bleeding in the present.
Anyways! I hope this explains it. And if anyone does want advice on how to write these out, you're welcome to ask me!

i refuse to let clamp off the hook for underutilising himawari's fucking fascinating character setup and traits but on a less serious level im obsessed with the concept of her as an instigator of chaos.
like she's way less airheaded than she seems and it doesn't come off like Default Airhead Girl Behaviour or even Default Girl Companion That Ships Her Friends primarily (like not as hard as some other series by comparison I mean she's very I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE by default) specifically she just seems like someone that thoroughly enjoys being a little shit in a sincere way and giggling at her dumbass friends and has a shade of high emotional intelligence about it all. like she's just girl of all time. she's i don't know where im going with this just take this low effort meme from when i watched the holic stage play on youtube this isn't a coherent thought it's like 2am ill come up with better thoughts later
Tumblr media
#ive seen kaguya sama and i know chika is a little bit rotted as a human being but we need to think about himas agent of chaos potential#this is all my personal intepretation but in general i find her a very cool character and working with the barebones framework is still fun#shes got so many interesting character traits#like how shes totally hooked on horror and spooky stuff more than the guys#but it has a distinct contrast with her deep fucking trauma and daily struggles with her curse-but-not-cause#theres smth that feels part coping mechanism part catharsis and part just straight up gap moe abt that#like....girl of all time#also her being depicted a lot either in rly bright sunny tones OR gothic lolita and no inbetween#i mean the joy of holic is everyone is basically posable dolls dressed up in whatever outfits you want but like its still a theme#and like we are given tidbits and small bits and pieces of her personality and interests and its not enough but its rly cool to think abt#they underused her frfr but what we do learn in how she reacts to stuff and bounces off other characters is so AAA#its wild how shes kinda a main character but kinda not in such a deeply fleshed out character driven story#i know shes a key player w loads of strong emotional moments but shes overshadowed a lot and it makes me wanna write mad headcanons#i find myself wondering how she copes day to day with her situation and how itd impact her personality around other people and self image#IDK you could write entire books abt her#but mostly: shes sillay#shes a little bit of a blank slate fill in the gaps but my brain is more than happy to supplement vibes and guesses#hima does not read as het to me because queer friendship groups work on stand user logic#i have a few fic ideas where it deep dives on her life as an adult and her push and pull w social interaction#but its early days on that so any details would b not very interesting past the conceot stage lol#i rly gotta get my ass to writing more fic but brain is a fuck writing longform is haaard unless its like idk visual novel formatting#anyway this is just nothing im not aiming for interaction here i just have half baked thoughts abt himawari the girl of all time#also hima kinda goes through hell and back so doing her dumbass 3 person comedy routine w her dumbass frisnds must be of big fuckin solace#its like that post about just being a girl who wants to have fun . she wants to have fun w friends#AND THAT IS OK justice for hima idk i love her even if she got the short end of the stick for deeply long term focused character writing

10 World-Building Aspects You Probably Overlooked
When crafting a fictional world, it's easy to focus on the big pictureโ€”epic battles, grand landscapes, and memorable characters. However, itโ€™s also important to flesh out your world-building to create a โ€˜realโ€™ world. Some aspects to consider when world-building are:ย
1. Local Cuisine
Consider the types of food your characters eat and how it reflects their culture, geography, and economy. Unique dishes can reveal societal values and local ingredients.
2. Currency & Trade
Explore the forms of currency used and the trade systems in place. This can include bartering, precious metals, or unique items as currency, influencing economic interactions.
3. Timekeeping Practices
Different cultures may have their own methods for measuring time, whether it's a unique calendar system, seasons, or celestial events, affecting daily life and traditions.
4. Cultural Taboos
Consider the unspoken rules and taboos that govern behavior in your world. These can drive conflict and character motivations, adding depth to societal interactions.
5. Local Flora and Fauna
Unique plants and animals can shape the environment and influence the culture, whether through medicine, food sources, or as part of local mythology.
6. Rituals and Festivals
Incorporate unique rituals or festivals that celebrate historical events, seasonal changes, or important life milestones, providing insight into cultural values and traditions.
7. Language Nuances
Explore dialects, slang, or even the use of sign language that reflects the culture and social dynamics, enriching dialogue and interactions between characters.
8. Architecture and Housing Styles
The design and materials of buildings can reflect climate, resources, and cultural values. Unique architectural features can tell a story about the society that built them.
9. Social Hierarchies and Classes
Examine how social structures affect character relationships and interactions. Class distinctions can influence everything from daily life to political power.
10. Environmental Impact
Consider how the natural environment shapes societal behaviours, resource usage, and conflicts. Climate and geography can drive migration patterns and societal development.

do you know what?
I miss long seasons.
I miss seasons that had 20 episodes and half of them could be cut and nothing would be lost to the story.
I miss the episodes where nothing fucking happens but you get to see the main cast goofing around with one another. You get to see their interactions, their relationships develop, their day-to-day lives and how they all fit together in them.
You get the Christmas/halloween/valentine's special -is it needed? certainly not. but is it good? is it entertaining? does it give the show and characters life? do we, the viewers, enjoy it? YES!
give me long stories!! give me little quarrelling spats between characters that can be resolved in one episode with no need to have an impact on the greater story! make these stories real!
let me enjoy them before they end!!!
I absolutely love Hazbin Hotel and the little world that's been created, but I can't help but feel disappointed we're only getting two seasons of 8 episodes.
back in the early 2000's 16 episodes would have been ONE season, never mind the entire thing.
show my angel dust and husk and nifty and sir penthouse living their daily lives in the hotel! show me Charlie brainstorming ways to redeem sinners! give me Charlie forcing the hotel staff to do cringe-y exercises! give me an entire episode of Vox trying to follow alastor through security cameras! Give me husks typical day! Give me a special through the eyes of nifty on a mission to irradiate the hotel of bugs! Give me sir penthouse and the egg boys up to no good!
give me something other than the bare necessities to make the story flow
6 months have nearly gone by in the hotel, and it feels like 1 month.

The South Node in astrology symbolizes the traits, habits, and behaviors we've brought with us from past lives or early experiences. It's our comfort zone, the familiar ground we often retreat to because it feels safe and natural. However, while the South Node reveals our inherent strengths and tendencies, it also shows us what we need to release in order to grow. Holding on to the patterns tied to the South Node can keep us stuck, preventing us from evolving into our full potential. True growth comes from recognizing these tendencies, understanding how they impact our lives, and consciously deciding to let go of what no longer serves us. By doing this, we open ourselves up to the lessons of the North Node, embracing new paths that lead to deeper fulfillment and personal development.

To grow, you need to release your tendency to rely on others for validation, avoid conflict, and overcompromise in the name of harmony. To foster personal growth, it's essential to release your need for control, emotional intensity, and the tendency to dwell on the darker, more complex aspects of life. While these traits may have provided depth and insight, they can also lead to unnecessary complications and emotional turbulence. Moving toward your Taurus North Node invites you to embrace simplicity, stability, and a more grounded, peaceful approach to living. The Power of Elegance, Grace and Poise | IT GIRL DIARIES
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elegance is a subtle strength that goes beyond physical beauty or material possessions. It's about how you carry yourself, your actions, and the way you engage with the world around you. Cultivating grace and poise in your daily life can elevate your presence and make you stand out effortlessly. Having elegance as a characteristic can enhance your femininity immensely, attracting the right people and opportunities.
The Art of Mindful Movement
Elegance begins with how you move through the world. Every gesture, whether it's walking into a room or offering a handshake, can exude grace when done with intention. Moving deliberately and confidently, without rushing, demonstrates a quiet control over your environment. Graceful movements are gentle and fluid, reflecting a calm mind and self-assurance. Drop something? Don't pull an Elle Woods and stunt a bend and snap, this causes to much exposure and attracts attention in the wrong manner. This will change the way others approach you and who approaches you.
Speaking with Intention
The way you speak is another powerful reflection of elegance. Speaking clearly, slowly, and with thoughtfulness shows a refined presence. Listening attentively before responding, and choosing your words carefully, allows you to convey wisdom and consideration. A poised individual speaks with purpose, never raising their voice or dominating the conversation, but instead engaging others with respect. A foul mouth is common in today's society, even I, myself sometimes fall victim to this. Having a foul mouth can indicate a lack of vocabulary or intellect so try and steer away from using this language, find other words to describe the way you feel in a situation, always remain cool calm and collected.
Cultivating Kindness and Patience
True elegance lies in how you treat others. Kindness, patience, and respect are hallmarks of a graceful person. Offering a smile, listening without interruption, and being present in your interactions can leave a lasting impact. Elegance isnโ€™t just about what you do, but how you make others feelโ€”valued, understood, and appreciated.
The Power of Simplicity
Elegance thrives in simplicity. Whether itโ€™s in your personal style, your home, or the way you approach challenges, less is often more. A graceful person is not distracted by excess but instead focuses on the essentials, projecting refinement through simplicity and order. Itโ€™s the small, thoughtful actions that create an atmosphere of calm and sophistication. Choose minimalistic over maximalist.
Composure in Challenging Situations
A key element of elegance is maintaining composure, even in difficult situations. Never lose your cool! Staying calm under pressure, responding rather than reacting, and maintaining an air of confidence helps you rise above challenges with grace. Composure reflects inner strength and elegance, showing that you are in control of yourself regardless of external circumstances. This doesn't mean you can't give it to dumb people on occasion, if someone needs to be put in their place, do it with grace.
_____
You can cultivate an aura of elegance that will enhance every aspect of your life. Elegance attracts the right people and sets boundaries before you voice them. How you look and present yourself to the world is very important. First impressions always matter!

Let's talk about worldbuilding.
Worldbuilding is a crucial aspect of writing fiction, particularly in genres like fantasy and science fiction.
Remember that worldbuilding is a dynamic process that evolves as you write. Don't be afraid to experiment and make changes to your world as needed to serve the story.
Here are some tips to help you build a rich and immersive world:
Start with a Core Concept: Every world begins with an idea. Whether it's a magic system, a futuristic society, or an alternate history, have a clear concept that serves as the foundation for your world.
Define the Rules: Establish the rules that govern your world, including its physical laws, magic systems, societal norms, and cultural practices. Consistency is key to creating a believable world.
Create a Detailed Map: Optional, but helpful. Develop a map of your world to visualise its geography, including continents, countries, cities, and landmarks. Consider factors like climate, terrain, and natural resources to make your world feel authentic.
Build a History: Develop a rich history for your world, including key events, conflicts, and historical figures. Consider how past events have shaped the present and influenced the cultures and societies within your world.
Develop Cultures and Societies: Create diverse cultures and societies within your world, each with its own beliefs, traditions, languages, and social structures. Explore how different cultures interact and conflict with one another.
Flesh Out Characters: Populate your world with memorable characters who reflect its diversity and complexity. Consider how their backgrounds, motivations, and personalities are shaped by the world around them. (See my post on character development for more!)
Consider Technology and Magic: Determine the level of technology and the presence of magic in your world, and how they impact daily life, society, and the overall narrative.
Think about Economics and Politics: Consider the economic systems, political structures, and power dynamics within your world. Explore issues like inequality, governance, and social justice to add depth to your worldbuilding.
Show, Don't Tell: Instead of dumping information on readers, reveal details about your world gradually through storytelling. Show how characters interact with their environment and incorporate worldbuilding seamlessly into the narrative.
Stay Consistent: Maintain consistency in your worldbuilding to ensure coherence and believability. Keep track of details like character names, historical events, and geographic locations to avoid contradictions.
Leave Room for Exploration: While it's essential to have a solid foundation for your world, leave room for discovery and exploration as you write. Allow your world to evolve organically and be open to new ideas and possibilities.
Revise and Edit: Carefully review your worldbuilding to identify any inconsistencies, plot holes, or contradictory elements. Pay attention to details such as character backgrounds, historical events, and the rules of your world's magic or technology. Make necessary revisions to resolve any issues and maintain the integrity of your worldbuilding.
Happy writing!

Childress (30117) persona chart - what will your pregnancy be like?
Tumblr media
Sun placement - the central theme of your pregnancy
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 1st house/Aries Sun: Your main focus will be on you and yourself only. You might become more selfish during this time, believing you deserve "the best of the best". You might take up a high-impact sport (such as boxing, martial arts, American football, hockey) or a speed sport (sprinting, speed skating). If Sun is afflicted, you might prioritize yourself in the detriment of your baby's health (it could also point out to a possible abortion, but there needs to be more indicators in the chart for that)
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 2nd house/Taurus Sun: Your main focus will be on your financial assets, material possession and self-worth during your pregnancy. Most of your time will be spent on buying stuff for the baby - bassinet, bottles, clothing, room decor etc. If Sun is well aspected, you might feel more desirable as a woman during your pregnancy, embracing your new body; likewise, if Sun is badly aspected, you might criticize yourself for gaining extra weight and feel less desirable
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 3rd house/Gemini Sun: Your main focus will be on learning as much as you can about pregnancy & childbirth. You will desire to be informed about different types of childbirth, different symptoms during pregnancy, whether they're normal or not. If you have friends who are already parents, you might seek advice from them about childbearing and what it is like to raise a child. If Sun is badly aspected, you might have a harder time making decisions regarding your baby
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 4th house/Cancer Sun: Your main focus will be on your growing family, especially your baby. If you have family traditions passed on through generations, you might repeat those traditions while pregnant. You might start a diary where you keep record of your baby kicks. You will be emotional during your pregnancy, but you'll be able to regulate your emotions. If Sun is afflicted, you might prioritize the baby over your own well-being
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 5th house/Leo Sun: Your main focus will be on children in general. If you have family and/or friends with children, you might socialize with them more, watch how they interact with their parents and other children, and imagine what your own child will be like. You might use different apps to visualize what your baby will look like. You might also enjoy your life more and consider pregnancy to be one of the best period of your life (ofcours, if Sun is well aspected)
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 6th house/Virgo Sun: Your main focus will be on your physical health and your daily responsabilities. You might pay more attention to your diet during your pregnancy. Developing a relationship with your doctor/midwife will become crucial for you during pregnancy. Delegating tasks to other people might prove to become more difficult, as you want to feel like your in control of everything that happens in your life. You might resort to light physical activity to manage stress
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 7th house/Libra Sun: Your main focus will be on your relationship with your partner. You will make choices according to both your opinion and your partner's opinion. You might allocate more time to pampering yourself and doing feminine activities such as getting your nails done, doing your makeup, finding new clothes which are both fashionable and fit your new body, going for photoshoots in flower fields
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 8th house/Scorpio Sun: Your main focus will be on the life-altering transformations you'll be facing as your pregnancy progresses. Your life will likely change A LOT after you find out you are pregnant. You might become more private with the people around you, feeling like you have to protect yourself from those who ask too many questions and/or potential stalkers. You will pay more attention to the sex life with your partner. If Sun is afflicted, you might develop a deep fear of having a miscarriage
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 9th house/Sagittarius Sun: Your main focus will be on travelling and acquiring wisdom. You will likely become more optimistic and generous during the pregnancy. As the Sun rejoices in this house, you might start thinking about the meaning of life, with its different philosophies and religious beliefs. If there are other indicators in the Childress persona chart, this placement can indicate getting pregnant in college (same goes for Moon in 9th house)
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 10th house/Capricorn Sun: Your main focus will be on your career, status and public recognition during your pregnancy. You might become more popular only for the fact that you're pregnant and glowing. The father of the baby will likely become more important to you during the pregnancy. If Sun is afflicted, you might focus more on your career to the detriment of your baby
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 11th house/Aquarius Sun: Your main focus will be on your wishes and aspirations, your community and your friend group, but also on eccentric matters. You might develop an interest in the latest baby gadgets, which will make your life easier after pregnancy. If you're an introvert, you might feel more extroverted during pregnancy or vice versa. You will likely post more frequently on social media or start a new page/channel focused on the pregnancy
๐Ÿงธ Sun in 12th house/Pisces Sun: Your main focus will be on your spirituality, escapism methods and night life. You might have premonitory dreams about your baby, such as finding the gender of the baby, their feelings during the pregnancy or even their past life. You might also intuitively know your baby's real due date, regardless of the one mentioned by the doctor. If Sun is well aspected, you might quit addictions for good, not just during the pregnancy. Likewise, if Sun is afflicted, you might cope with potential problems during pregnancy by starting (or continuing) bad habits, which end up becoming addictions
Tumblr media
Miscellaneous obs
๐Ÿผ Sun/Moon aspecting asteroid Child (4580) or Miminko (60000) indicates having a strong connection with your baby during pregnancy

The 6th house (our boundaries & habits) pt. one ๐Ÿ’—

In discussing the 6th house, Howard Sasportas emphasizes, โ€œOur true vocation is to be ourselves, no more, no less. And the consequences for not respecting the truths of our nature are stress, frustration, and disease.โ€
แฏ“แกฃ๐ญฉ This quote highlights why comparing your routines to others can be so harmful. You have to work with your energy; forcing yourself into routines that donโ€™t align with it can lead to frustration and, ultimately, burnout.
แฏ“แกฃ๐ญฉ As I mentioned in another post, โ€œThe 6th house might be the best tool for setting boundaries because it aligns with the Virgo-Pisces axis. Your structured routines, daily interactions, and habits (Virgo/6th house) directly impact your mental health, sleep, and subconscious mind (Pisces/12th house) and vice versa. You canโ€™t care for your mental health (Pisces) without analyzing or expressing your feelings (Virgo), and you canโ€™t verbalize how you feel without actually experiencing those emotions (Pisces). Itโ€™s all about balance. For instance, neglecting self-care (Virgo/6th house) could lead to consequences like hospitalization (Pisces/12th house).โ€
แฏ“แกฃ๐ญฉ The planets and signs in the 6th House show how your daily routine can take an ugly turn when energy is not directed in your best interests. Some examples of how that energy has manifested from friends and family:
แฏ“แกฃ๐ญฉ Leo (Mars) in the 6th House: When she neglects nurturing her daily routines, she feels insecure about her image (Leo) and drained of her energy (Mars). For her, showing up to work looking her best (Leo) is essential, especially as a teacher, where every day is a performance. On days when she rolls out of bed without spending time on her looks, she doesnโ€™t feel sheโ€™s giving her best. For someone else, like a Pisces placement, going with the flow might be less stressful, but for her, itโ€™s different. She feels judged by her coworkers (Mars in the 6th can bring that feeling of scrutiny), so she toned down her bold outfits and unique hair (Leo), but this, in turn, made her feel less driven and engaged (Mars) in her DAILY LIFE and job (6h).
แฏ“แกฃ๐ญฉ Aquarius (Moon) in the 6th House: If she doesnโ€™t take time for herself, she gets drained very quickly. Aquarius Moons need to prioritize rest and personal space to recharge. When she neglects to nurture her daily routine, she feels overwhelmed and frustrated (moon) with the collective (aqua). She was working at a nonprofit working with refugees and asylums, and she was very invested in her work to the point where she wasnโ€™t taking any sick days or mental health days, and it took an immense toll on her. Keeping some emotional distance is suitable for Aquarius' energy because it helps them solve problems objectively (aqua energy) and help others without getting too stressed out. The Moon controls our emotions and our need for comfort. When Aquarius is in the 6th House about daily work and service, the emotionally demanding nature of daily routines can clash with their objectivity. If they donโ€™t take time for routine breaks and emotional self-care, this can make them feel compassion fatigue.
แฏ“แกฃ๐ญฉ Aries (Jupiter) in the 6th House: She thrives on motivation and needs to feel inspired by her work to stay engaged. If a job doesnโ€™t light that fire, sheโ€™ll move on quickly in true Aries fashion. With Jupiter here, she often jumps from one position to the next, seeking purpose and expansion. When sheโ€™s not compensated fairly or feels her insights arenโ€™t valued, she becomes drained and unmotivated (Aries) in her daily routines (6H). Jupiter in Aries in the 6th House brings a lot of energy and optimism to work, but she needs to feel that her role has room for growth and respects her drive to stand out. The 6th House represents daily routines and service, and Aries energy wants freedom to take action. Jupiter, ruling growth and wisdom, makes her want to feel like her work is both challenging and meaningful. Without these elements, she quickly becomes restless, feeling stuck and undervalued.

แกฃ โ€ข . โ€ข ๐ญฉ โ™ก so think about it like this: when you embody the energy of your 6th house and shape your daily routines using that energy you will notice a boost in energy, motivation and feel good knowing you are setting your boundaries with others and keeping promises to yourself. BUT, when things are going wrong you will know because you will be feeling the OPPOSITE of that energy or the shadow side of it.
แกฃ โ€ข . โ€ข ๐ญฉ โ™ก You don't need to have a planet in your 6h to decipher this for yourself, it just adds another layer of investigating if you do (Look at the sign and house of the planet that rules your 6th house to get a better sense of it. For example, if your 6th house is in Taurus and Venus rules your 9th house, you may find that learning new things or exploring spirituality makes your daily life better, while ignoring these things may make you feel bored or uninspired).
But anyways, back to the 6h, based on my friends charts, the shadow side looked like:
Leo or Sun in the 6th: The shadow side might show up as insecurity or feeling judged. You need to feel like you're being seen and appreciated for who you are and what you have to offer.
Aquarius or Saturn in the 6th: The shadow side can look like over-investment, leading to emotional burnout. You need to feel like your work is full-filling and impactful but also without it taking a toll on your physical and mental health AND ALSO that it does not negatively shape your feelings for the causes you are passionate about.
Aries or Mars in the 6th: The shadow side may involve impatience, frustration, or a restless need for change. You need to feel like a beast! Like you are THAT GIRL!!! (its about drive its about power we stay hungry we devour). but fr, you need to feel like your work has purpose and the energy you are exerting has MEANING with visible results.
Like I said if you don't have planets in the 6h that's okay. Look at the energy of the sign alone first, for example:
Capricorn in the 6th house (can apply to saturn in the 6h too): you have a strong desire for structure and consistency in your daily life. The shadow might be feeling stressed out because of too much work or not enough free time.
Gemini in the 6th house (can also apply to mercury in the 6h): You need mental stimulation and a variety of tasks in your daily life. On the other hand, with the shadow side your energy could be spread out or you might feel like you have too many commitments and need to relax.
Taurus in the 6th House (can also apply to venus in the 6h): you like stable, comfortable, and valuable routines. The shadow side can show up as not wanting to change, being set in your ways with habits, or sticking to old habits that donโ€™t do you just because they feel comfortable.
Cancer in the 6th House (can also be applicable to moon in the 6h): You approach daily tasks with care and intuition and usually like working in a place that makes you feel supported. The shadow side could be an emotional attachment to routines or a weariness from always wanting to help others without setting limits.
Virgo in the 6th House (could be applicable to mercury in the 6h too): You naturally keep things in order and pay close attention to the little things when you do daily tasks. Perfectionism, overthinking, or being too hard on yourself if things arenโ€™t done right could be signs of the shadow side.
Libra in the 6th House (could apply to venus in the 6h as well): In your daily life, you look for balance and harmony; routines often feel best when theyโ€™re pleasant to do and look good. On the dark side, you might not be able to make up your mind or put the needs of others ahead of your own to keep the peace, which can make you feel angry and have you acting out in passive-aggressive ways or being snappy.ย
Scorpio in the 6th House (could apply to pluto in the 6h as well): Youโ€™re intense and deeply committed to your routines, so you often change how you do your daily work and health (aka constantly transforming). When you push yourself too hard, you might become obsessed, or if you donโ€™t think your efforts are being valued, you might mistrust others, especially your coworkers or the people you interact with daily.
Sagittarius in the 6th House (or jupiter in the 6h): you need freedom, grow, and feel like youโ€™re on an adventure. On the other hand, the shadow side could include restlessness, trouble committing to one thing, or ignoring responsibilities if they feel too limited or u feel trapped.
Pisces in the 6th House (or neptune in the 6h): You're naturally caring and must go about your days gently. the shadow side might be avoiding routine, or feeling too busy with daily tasks and if they donโ€™t have a sense of purpose or creativity, the shadow side may also show itself.

Do you really love yourself?
Many times in the past, I believed I was operating out of self-love. However, it was only when I began focusing on personal growth and engaging in shadow work and inner healing that I came to understand that my previous perception was not accurate.
Sometimes, we believe we're being kind to ourselves because we do things that feel good or seem helpful at first. We might do these things because we want to feel better or think they're good for us.
To become aware that something might not be truly self loving, we need to pay attention to how things make us feel in the long run. If something we're doing ends up making us feel unhappy, stressed, or even harms us over time, that's a sign that it might not be coming from genuine self love. So, it's important to regularly check in with our feelings and reflect on whether our actions are bringing us real and lasting happiness and well-being.
These are some examples you may relate to, where we might think we're operating out of self-love, but it may not truly be the case:
Self-Care:
Binge watching TV shows for hours, thinking it's self-care, but it leads to neglecting other responsibilities.
Regularly indulging in unhealthy foods as a form of self-care, but it negatively impacts physical well-being.
Spending excessive amounts on shopping to feel better momentarily, mistaking it for self-care, when it strains finances.
Oversleeping every day, believing it's self-care, but it disrupts daily routines and productivity.
Isolating yourself from others under the guise of self-care, but it can worsen feelings of loneliness.
Skipping regular exercise, thinking you're prioritizing relaxation, but it affects overall health in the long run.
Using substances like alcohol to cope with stress, thinking it's self-care, when it may lead to dependency.
Personality:
Constantly seeking validation from others to feel worthy, assuming it's part of your personality, but it indicates low self-esteem.
Always being the peacemaker in conflicts, believing it's your personality, but it might be suppressing your true feelings.
Refusing to ask for help in any situation, thinking it's part of your personality, but it can hinder growth.
Being overly competitive and comparing yourself to others, thinking it's just your personality, but it can lead to dissatisfaction.
Being excessively introverted to the point of avoiding social interactions, thinking it's part of your personality, but it may contribute to isolation.
Always putting others' needs before your own, assuming it's your personality, but it could be detrimental to your well-being.
Constantly seeking new experiences and never committing to anything, believing it's your personality, but it might hinder progress.
Career:
Overworking and not taking breaks, assuming it's necessary for career success, but it leads to burnout.
Staying in a job you hate because it's what you're used to, thinking it's for the sake of career stability, but it prevents growth.
Avoiding asking for promotions or raises, assuming it's humility, but it might hold you back professionally.
Pursuing a career path solely for financial gain, thinking it's practical, but it can result in dissatisfaction.
Accepting workplace mistreatment in the name of job commitment, thinking it's dedication, but it's detrimental to mental health.
Focusing solely on climbing the corporate ladder, believing it's the key to success, but it may lead to neglecting other important aspects of life.
Not pursuing opportunities for skill development, thinking it's contentment, but it can hinder career advancement.
Romantic Relationships:
Ignoring your own needs to constantly please your partner, believing it's love, but it leads to codependency.
Staying in a toxic relationship because you're afraid of being alone, thinking it's love, but it harms your well-being.
Sacrificing your own dreams and goals for your partner's aspirations, mistaking it for love, when it hinders personal growth.
Avoiding conflicts at all costs, assuming it's love for peace, but it prevents healthy communication.
Idealizing your partner and overlooking their flaws, thinking it's love, but it prevents realistic understanding.
Rushing into a new relationship immediately after a breakup, thinking it's moving on, but it might be avoiding emotions.
Disregarding your own values to align with your partner's, believing it's love, when it compromises your authenticity.
Friendships:
Going along with friends' decisions even when you disagree, assuming it's loyalty, but it might lead to resentment.
Pretending to enjoy activities you dislike to fit in, thinking it's maintaining friendships, but it's not authentic.
Ignoring your own needs to help friends excessively, believing it's friendship, when it impacts your own well-being.
Staying friends with people who consistently bring you down, thinking it's loyalty, but it negatively affects your self-esteem.
Avoiding confrontation with friends, assuming it's maintaining harmony, but it might lead to unresolved issues.
Letting others take advantage of your kindness, thinking it's friendship, when it's actually being taken for granted.
Faking interest in others' conversations to avoid feeling left out, thinking it's friendship, but it prevents genuine connections.
Personal Growth:
Staying in your comfort zone and avoiding challenges, thinking it's self-preservation, when it hinders progress.
Setting unrealistic goals for personal development, believing it's ambition, but it can lead to disappointment.
Constantly seeking external validation for your progress, assuming it's self-improvement, when it should come from within.
Overloading your schedule with self-help activities, thinking it's maximizing growth, but it might cause overwhelm.
Avoiding reflection on your mistakes and shortcomings, thinking it's self-compassion, when it prevents learning.
Perpetually focusing on your flaws without celebrating achievements, thinking it's humility, but it can lead to low self-esteem.
Ignoring your emotional needs in favor of pushing through challenges, assuming it's resilience, when it might hinder emotional well-being.
Physical Health:
Skipping Meals to Lose Weight: You might think that skipping meals will help you lose weight quickly, but it can lead to nutritional deficiencies and harm your body's energy levels.
Overexercising: Working out excessively with no rest can seem like a way to get fit, but it can lead to injuries, exhaustion, and even weakened immunity.
Crash Diets: Trying extreme diets that drastically cut out food groups might seem like a fast way to lose weight, but they often lack important nutrients and can be harmful to your body.
Ignoring Sleep: Prioritizing work or entertainment over sleep might seem productive, but sleep is crucial for your body to recover and function well.
Relying on Supplements Alone: Thinking that supplements can replace a balanced diet might seem convenient, but they're meant to complement, not replace, healthy eating.
Ignoring Pain: Believing that toughing it out through pain or discomfort is a sign of strength, but it's important to listen to your body and seek medical attention when needed.
Not Staying Hydrated: Forgetting to drink enough water might not seem like a big deal, but proper hydration is vital for many bodily functions and overall well-being.

What is hyperfixation like?
So, I didnโ€™t care about Sherlock Holmes at all until about six weeks ago.
I watched BBC Sherlock as my gateway drug, then read a bunch of fic, started listening to the podcast Sherlock & Co, bought a copy of the new queer anthology When the Rose Speaks Its Name, started watching the Jeremy Brett series, and now Iโ€™m reading Bending the Willow: Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes while simultaneously cycling through BBC Sherlock - AO3 - Sherlock & Co - When the Rose Speaks Its Name - Jeremy Brett - misc. Sherlockian googlings on a daily basis.
I can feel dopamine coursing through my veins every second that I get to interact with Sherlock Holmes related media, which is a considerable amount of time. I draw fanart at work and scribble gay little thoughts in my journal. There is not an atom within me that isnโ€™t vibrating for Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes byproducts.
And yet nobody in my real life wants to talk about it with me, no matter how hard I try. I tried reaching out to my brother who has always been an ACD Holmes fan and he literally hasnโ€™t replied to me in a month. Heโ€™s got kids. All Iโ€™ve got is a new Sherlock Holmes hyperfixation.
I posted some of my new art on Instagram and received a very weak response even though I was really excited about it and still think itโ€™s some of my better work. I deactivated my account because I was so sad.
The isolation impacts me negatively. It pushes me further and further away from โ€œreal lifeโ€ and into escapismland, because thatโ€™s where all the dopamine lives. I find myself on Tumblr or making edits on TikTok where no one really knows me or cares about me but people who care about the same media I do might respond.
It would mean everything to me for someone to care both about me as a human and about my interests, especially in the first few months of a hyperfixation when I literally cannot shut the fuck up about it.
But instead I am doomed to this lonely life of soaring highs, swinging from media fixation to media fixation, telling strangers on the internet that I am desperately in love with fictional characters, and crash-and-burn lows that most people donโ€™t even understand.
I am a 30-year-old woman technically diagnosed with both bipolar and autism spectrum disorder. I am a weird gay aunt who will never have a longterm partner or children or possibly even close friends. I am actually a really nice and cool and hot person.
And I am only in love with Sherlock Holmes.
For now.

Shout out to Unknown for demonstrating that serious injuries do have long-term affects on your body and your mind.
There isnโ€™t an episode that goes by where we arenโ€™t reminded of everything Qian has gone through to get to where he is. And itโ€™s not just from flashbacks. Itโ€™s in the scars that remain on his body. The nightmares that haunt his sleep. In his interactions with women. His fierce protectiveness of his family. Qianโ€™s triggers and responses to them make sense and donโ€™t just appear out of the blue for dramatic effect.
So much of the emotional and physical trauma that Qian has experienced continues to impact his daily life in a way that makes him feel less like a character with a tragic backstory and more like an actual person with lived experience.
