You have no idea Simonā€™s rented a flat the next block over.
Itā€™s the quickest walk, from your place to his, and he makes it frequently, especially at night.
You donā€™t know he stands in the shadow of a tree, waiting for your lights to flick on and off. On, and off, all night long.
Orion keeps you up, he knows without a doubt now. The tired eyes and tired smile you gave him the other day when he fixed the washer filled him with shame, miserable and scalding, a burn searing across his heart.
He gave you a baby, and then disappeared.
He estimates you get up every three hours. The dim, muted light from your bedroom window flickers alive, and then the living room follows shortly after.
If he was there, things would be different. Heā€™d get up with Ry, get him tucked into bed beside you, snuggled up to your breast. Heā€™d rub the apple of your cheek to gently wake you, just enough so youā€™d know whatā€™s going on, but not enough to truly open your eyes. You would trust him, trust him to take care of you, and the baby, trust that heā€™s there. Youā€™d be half asleep as he pulled your tank top down and helped Orion latch, half asleep when Simon turned you in the bed so the baby could switch, Simonā€™s chest warm at your back, his hand holding Orion steady. Heā€™d stay awake and vigilant until he was done eating, burped, changed, and settled back into his crib. Heā€™d kiss you afterwards, long and sweet, and then press his nose to your hair and breathe deeply, before waking up to do it all over again in three hours.
Itā€™s all a fantasy, a secret dream heā€™s built and tucked away in his mind-
but it will all be real. Soon.
He starts with a dinner.
Itā€™s around six when he strolls up to your front door. Heā€™s got two orders of takeaway fish and chips, a favorite of yours (he remembers) and a strawberry mango smoothie (heā€™s not sure if you like these or not, if heā€™s being honest, but he knows nutrition is important right now. The internet says youā€™re burning a lot of calories, but you also need more sustenance and nutrient rich foods.)
Youā€™re surprised to see him, when you open the door, too big sweatshirt rolled up at the sleeves, ratty shorts raw hemmed between your legs. He enjoys the way your thighs touch, how they press together, and remembers them as warm and soft. Heā€™s (not so secretly, based on your first night together) pleased by your body. Soft and sweet and curved, but strong too, strong enough you made him a baby, to be a home to his son. And to him.
His favorite little kitten.
Your eyebrows crease together achingly slow as you take him in, and the spot the takeaway bag. You point to it, small smile twisting your lips. ā€œYou brought me food?ā€
ā€œNeed ta make sure youā€™re eatinā€™ enough.ā€ He grunts, and then steps closer, crosses the threshold, herding you inside with a hand on your hip. He does a preliminary sweep of the flat, and then sets the bag and smoothie on your kitchen counter. ā€œBaby asleep?ā€
ā€œJust went down.ā€ You sigh, leaning backward against the cool tile. ā€œWas really fightinā€™ it today. Iā€™m hoping heā€™ll sleep for more than the usual two, three hours heā€™s been getting.ā€ Your head tips back into the cabinet, exposing the vulnerable marrow of your throat, and you roll, glancing at the plastic cup filled with cold pink slime. ā€œAnd a smoothie?ā€ He chuckles.
ā€œWasnā€™t sure ah, if you liked ā€˜em or not butā€¦ it looked good.ā€ You glance at your feet, sweet smile shyly peeking at him.
ā€œThank you.ā€ You whisper. Your voice is thick, trembling on the last vowel, and his stomach pitches. ā€œItā€™sā€¦ really nice of you, Simon. To bring me food. Iā€¦ā€ you glance up, eyes full of tears, and heā€™s drawn towards you like a magnet. ā€œIt was really hard today.ā€ Your voice cracks.
ā€œHey, hey, itā€™s okay.ā€ He tugs you into his chest, palm stroking slowly over the back of your head. ā€œI know it is, mama. I know. Itā€™s okay.ā€
ā€œItā€™s not.ā€ You sniffle against him. ā€œItā€™s s-so hard, and Iā€™m likeā€¦ Iā€™m not even a human- Iā€™m j-just like a milk machine and I canā€™t sleep and canā€™t leave this flat. I feel like Iā€™m failing, like Iā€™m doing everything wrong and Iā€™m leaking and I-ā€œ
ā€œOkay, shhhh. Itā€™s okay.ā€ His arms tighten around you, nose skimming along the top of your head. ā€œIā€™ve got you, cā€™mere.ā€ He cradles your cheeks, tilting you upwards to look at him. ā€œYouā€™re not failing, youā€™re doing a great job. Orion is safe, and happy, and healthy. Youā€™re healthy, and safe,ā€ he wipes the tear rolling down your cheek. ā€œand weā€™ll work on the happy part.ā€ He takes a deep breath. ā€œā€˜m gonna take some leave, be around for a bit. Iā€™ll be here, to help.ā€
ā€œYou donā€™t have-ā€œ
ā€œI want to be here sweetheart. I wish I had been here all along.ā€ Heā€™s earnest in his plea and hopes you can see, all the things he wants to give you, all the things heā€™ll do. The space in his heart heā€™s carved away for you, for Ry. The aching sore spot under his ribs that stings when heā€™s away from you. ā€œAlright? Iā€™ll be right here.ā€ He pulls your hand into his, and then up to his face, dotting his lips across your palm, promise whispered away into your skin. ā€œIā€™m right here, mama. Iā€™m going to take care of you, of both of you, okay?ā€ You close your eyes, take a deep breath.

Since thereā€™s no Alfred to stop them anymore, they have been running rampant.

be clear on your goals for ur fitness girlie era. is this something that u wanna maintain in ur day to day life for general health? do you wanna gain/lose some weight? do you just wanna be stronger?
knowing what ur trying to achieve makes finding workouts that target your goal specifically more easy (the more specific the better)
WHERE DOES NUTRITION COME INTO PLAY ;
you should be fueling ur body properly in order for ur body to function well when ur in ur fitness girlie era. if ur goal for example is to gain weight but u notice that u have a habit to eat very little, make a log.
WIEIAD LOG (NUTRITION CONTINUED) ;
i started a what i eat in a day log for a couple reasons. one bcuz i love lists and documenting things about myself, and two bcuz i wanted to make sure that i was eating well and eating good quality foods. bcuz i notice that when i eat well -> i feel well.
eat to fuel your body, dont eat just to eat
include fresh foods
make sure that you eat healthy portions (calling four almonds a meal is NOT healthy, and calling six pizza pies a meal is NOT healthy)

overall just be mindful of what u decide to fuel your body with. an easy drink that helps to be mindful with what u fuel ur body with is with SMOOTHIES.
im so sick of ppl sleeping on smoothies cuz if u dont like to directly eat vegetables or if u want an easy way to intake fresh fruits and veggies smoothies are the way to GO.
ROMANTICIZATION ;
the fun part of the whole journey, romanticization. made a pinterest board for ur fitness journey aesthetic and make it super pretty. invest in cute workout clothes to motivate urself to workout.
formulate a playlist for ur workout, something that gives u energy and motivates you. find a workout class or a youtube channel that you love. dont make working out BORING. get a workout buddy, make some video diary entries about working out/ur workout for the day.
make a blog that records whatever workout that u did. find fun ways to work out, like dancing or going on hot girl walks. create an atmosphere where u can work out and treat the time that u spend working out as a time to nurture and nourish your body.
PATIENCE AND PERSISTENCE ;
motivation isnt going to get u through a sustainable fitness girl journey, motivation can only get you so far. its DISCIPLINE that gets you the results that you want and consistency.
be patient with yourself even if u fall off ur routine and grind, ur only human so let yourself live. as long as you dont make falling off a habit, you'll be okay.
make sure that u emphasize the mind -> body connection bcuz thats super important. working out is not just about working up a sweat; it's about connecting with your body and embracing the mind-body connection.
FUN AND EFFECTIVE WAYS TO WORKOUT ;
le sserafim workout - i've done the le sserafim workout once or twice and it absolutely destroyed me šŸ’€ but in a good way. its challenging but its also rly effective so i recommend.
dancing - if ur into dancing, find a way of dancing that u enjoy to do. some examples include ; ballet, kpop dances, jazz etc
join a sport - join a sport with a friend to make it more fun! but theres lots of different sports that u can play and not only is it good for ur health, but its also super fun

Many penguin species huddle together in massive colonies, but pairs of yellow-eyed penguins go out of their way to be alone, nesting deep in New Zealandā€™s scrublands and forests out of sight of other penguins. When pairs reunite at the nest after one has been away fishing, they greet each other with a piercing cry that Thor Elley, an endangered avian species researcher at the University of Otago with Māori roots, likens to ā€œa whistling tea kettle rolling down a hill.ā€ The speciesā€™ Māori name, hoiho, roughly translates to ā€œnoise shouter.ā€Ā 
Screaming and antisocial behavior may not seem like beloved traits, but these penguins are revered in Māori culture as taonga, or treasure, even gracing the countryā€™s $5 bill. They are ā€œprotected by sacred origins,ā€ Elley says.
But one of New Zealandā€™s favorite endemic birds is also one of its rarest. The International Union for Conservation of Nature estimates that only between 2,600 and 3,000 hoiho exist. About a third live on New Zealandā€™s South Island and nearby Stewart Island. The rest inhabit sub-Antarctic islands some 300 miles to the south. In the past 15 years, the northern population has plummeted by roughly 75 percent, and researchers expect that group could disappear within the next two decades if the trend continues.Ā 
The decline stems from a litany of factors. Red cod, once a pillar of the hoiho diet, has become scarce, and blue cod, although larger, are harder to catch, eat and feed to their chicks than other staple fish. Penguins also drown each year in commercial gillnets. And a pair of diseases, avian diphtheria and, since 2019, a mysterious and fatal respiratory illness, also infect virtually every chick. Janelle Wierenga, a veterinary scientist at the University of Otago and Massey University, says potential vaccines and drugs are likely years away.Ā 
To keep the species afloat, wildlife hospitals and conservation groups have taken the radical step of removing every single hoiho chick on the South Island from its nest and placing it in human care for its first week or so of life. Chicks are treated with antibiotics to heal the mouth sores caused by avian diphtheria. Theyā€™re also fed fish smoothies to boost their strength. Itā€™s unclear how, but this extra care prevents chicks from developing the respiratory disease. ā€œIā€™ve got the feeling that the diseases are a secondary problem, and the primary problem is the penguins donā€™t get the sustenance they need,ā€ says Thomas Mattern, an ecologist at the University of Otago.Ā 
In 2023, the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital hand-reared 214 hoiho chicks. Without human intervention, 50 to 70 percent of those chicks would have died, Lisa Argilla, the hospitalā€™s senior wildlife veterinarian and director, estimates. But these herculean efforts can only offer a short-term reprieve. ā€œWe are trying to buy this population as much time as we can,ā€ she says. ā€œYou feel like youā€™re fighting a losing battle, but we couldnā€™t live with ourselves if we didnā€™t fight for these penguins.ā€

He deserves more than white bread. I come from an upbringing that spews the notion that itā€™s okay to be the loudest one in the room, to nag, to scream at your husband, to be rude and disrespectful to men and to expect them to consistently bend over backwards for you. To do everything themselves. To go hungry because itā€™s more convenient. I reject this. I detest it. Watching my father sit silent, take the constant bullshit and never be valued taught me a lot. How much I didnā€™t want to be a woman who caused that, and how I didnā€™t want a man like that.
I want a man who is strong and capable. Who is stable and who I lift up every day. Who I will clean and cook and serve every day. He knows I am an extension of him and will be the servant he needs to have each day be as peaceful as it can be. The same way he leads and takes away the final decisions so I can have peace, I take away the chores at home so he can have peace. I am lucky that this man is not a fantasy, he is my owner and I sleep in his bed. This is our life.
He knows he will wake up to a fully packed lunch box every day - and not just a soggy white bread sandwich thrown into a bag with no thought, a real sandwich with different toppings and spreads, and good quality bread. Or a big bowl of chili or soup. Or pasta. Different chips everyday. Homemade protein bars, cookies, brownies. A fresh smoothie every morning. Because he deserves to have thought and quality put into his day working hard for us. He needs sustenance for his 10-12 hour shifts doing manual labor. Heā€™s deserves more than just white bread.
He will come home to me kneeling at the door every evening. Dinner will be on the table at 7:30pm sharp (his choice of time). He will have his clothes laid out for him. He will have the freedom to relax when he is home. He will instruct me. Mold me. Teach me. Guide me. He will discipline me if needed. He will never take an ounce of disobedience or disrespect in his home. There will never be screaming. He will never be a doormat.
and thatā€™s why he deserves more than white bread.

Piers was still sleeping in the bedroom, but the alarm would be going off at any minute now.
Two hours ago she had urged him to nap, noticing a decline in his health from lack of sleep, and nutrients. Right now she had a smoothie of sorts ready for him, and one for herself as well. They would both be needing sustenance, with him being malnourished due to stress and bad habits, and her feeding for two.
She had told him right before they fell asleep about the news she found out about six weeks back. If everything went well, she could probably keep it hidden for another couple of weeks. And she didn't want everyone knowing just yet. Her and her boyfriend needed to discuss some things first.
She really wished she could drink, the sound of the alarm and Piers yawning awake bringing new anxiety.
