Is it just me or does every group of 4 protagonists have the same 4 personalities? I'm not pulling from a massive pool here but I feel like 3 different fandoms is more than coincidence

You have:

-the leader

-the red, angry one

-the smart one

-the wildcard

Then eventually there's a fifth and sixth member of the group that are just as important but at the same time aren't grouped with the other 4 quite as often as the main 4.

And we can't forget about the one that brought them all together in the first place.

some stories are written precisely to elicit strong emotions from the reader INCLUDING negative ones. some stories and characters are meant to be upsetting, they are meant to challenge you and make you uncomfortable!! when a story makes you feel Big Feelings sometimes you are meant to sit in those feelings and ask yourself why! fiction is a great space to explore these emotions in a safe environment. you, as the reader, are meant to think critically about the art you are enjoying and that includes asking yourself questions like why has the author presented their art in this way and what are they trying to tell me. and then you get to have fun picking it apart and figuring it out and deciding what, exactly, the art means to you.

the thing is. juno & nureyev's relationship has been such a major guiding thread throughout the podcast and the major drive of season 5, and the fandom has built itself so much (as fandoms often do) around shipping the two of them.

and yet nureyev doesn't show up at all in the last episode! or, he does, but it's only implied (for all we know it could be like. alessandra strong)(i know it's not but it would be really funny) and we don't hear his voice.

and it's so important to me that despite the room that their romance has taken in the plot and in our hearts, his absence reinforces that the point of juno steel's story wasn't a lady getting his man, it was about learning to grow as person for himself and for his friends (and not just his love interest), and it was about finding his footing in life and being at peace with himself and his place in the world. and he did! his growth and relative serenity is so apparent and just. a balm to the soul

and the fact that his man is back is just a nice add-on, not a necessity for his happiness

mumbling grumbling because I finally upgraded BG3 to patch 7 and it doesn't work with my mac anymore, PLUS my save files for Aldiirn's game are incompatible with the patch 6 beta so I have no way to access his game currently. 🥲

I still have comic scripts to last me a while and was thinking of getting a gaming PC after a couple folks offered to make custom body/face mods for him....... but this stinks!!!
