Why Do People Prefer Salted Roasted Pistachios and Almonds in Snacks?
There are very few options available to us when it comes to snacks because some people are health cautious due to which they go for dry fruits while some go for any other dishes. In dry fruits, people can go for some salted roasted pistachios because it is nutty and tasty. People eat dry fruits not only because of their taste but they have several benefits like health benefits, energy boosting and many other nutrients are present in it which we will discuss in this article.
Why Salted Roasted Pistachios?
These salted pistachios are a true culinary treasure and are known for their irresistible taste and vibrant green color. These pistachios need to go under a roasting process after which they are just seasoned with the right amount of salt to enhance the natural flavour. After getting properly seasoned we get a delightful combination of nutty richness and some salty tang that can make your taste buds happy.
Richness in Nutrients
Salted pistachios are not only an option of tasty nuts for you but they can even act as a boon for your health. Most of these nuts are packed with lots of essential nutrients like healthy fats, dietary fiber, protein, and several types of vitamins and minerals. They are one of the great sources of vitamin B, vitamin E, and minerals like magnesium and potassium.
Healthy for Heart
As we know that pistachios contain lots of nutrients that can contribute to better heart health, better digestion, and more energy. These crunchy pistachios have gained a reputation because they are heart-friendly as they have some healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats which can help lower the bad cholesterol levels and reduce the chances of heart disease.
Versatile Cooking Ingredient
Salted pistachios are not only limited to snacks but people can even add these nuts in several dishes just to enhance the taste of dishes. The unique flavor profile of pistachios makes them a versatile ingredient in both savory and sweet dishes. People can add it on salads to get crunch from it and they can even add it in yogurt to be incorporated into baked goods.
Why Caramelized Almonds in Snacks?
People have multiple options to choose their snacks but people who care have some heart problems can go for caramelized almonds as they have all the required nutrients to maintain blood pressure. The normal almonds are already crunchy from the outside but for better taste, these almonds are now seasoned with caramel which people can't control eating as a snack option.
How to Boost Energy with Almonds?
Normal almonds are a great source of lots of nutrients and even some doctors prefer to have almonds regularly people want some tasty stuff then the manufacturers add caramel to it. There is a contrast between the crispy outer layer and the natural taste of almonds that enhances the overall taste. These almonds are a good source of healthy fats, dietary fiber, and proteins people even prefer this as a snack rather than oily foods.
Conclusion
The potassium present in these nuts helps in maintaining healthy blood pressure levels and promotes cardiovascular well-being. After being seasoned with either caramel or salt they become even more tasty and crunchy.

This has been in my notes for a while:
“Why is that coffee named 666 in the Morning? It sounds cursed.” Tim asked, glaring at the menu board beyond the counter.
“Oh-oh-oh! That’s because it is, my friend,” Tucker said, rapping an arm around Tim’s shoulder. “666 has six shots of Arabica Espresso, six shots of Roasted Hazelnut Root, Smoked Vanilla, Blood Red Sea Salt Caramel, Void Chocolate, coconut, and pistachio syrups from The Year 1666’s original line—,”
“The banned line?”
“Yep! But it’s no longer banned, so don’t worry about it,” Tucker said. “Anyways— from the original line, and brewed for six days and six nights, without filtering the grounds. There is no milk or sugar, the syrups are sugar free. So it’s just bitter flavors, and pure black coffee from the tenth layer of hell.”
“That sounds disgusting,” Tim said then paused before adding, “I’ll take six.”

Can I please request Sirius Black being comforted when he's depressed and being looked after by his wife, the reader, during the events of Order of the Phoenix? Can be dot points, a fic, i don't mind! thanks xoxo
Tumblr media
Y/N has always been the mother figure of the group, even before she was dating much less married to Sirius. Always coddling the boys, making sure they drank their water and had all three meals. Also their homework. Oh my DAYS Remus was good with due dates but Sirius and James? Y/N needed some anti aging cream for her stress lines early.
Sirius was always getting into trouble and needing Y/N to bail him out be it detention or Azkaban.
Y/N is used to having to cheer him up, taking care of him but that doesn't mean she doesn't feel the same amount of pain whenever she sees him down. He always gives her those sad puppy wet eyes and she coos at him every single time. Kissing away his tears and pressing her forehead to his, reminding him how she would always be there to be the gentle wind that would push away the clouds to bring back the crystal blue skies.
Never feels like a burden, Y/N always reiterates how much she wants to take care of him. How much she doesn't care that he's been whiny and pouty. Y/N always holds his face firmly before kissing his face all over, making him smile before chuckling. She loves his smile, so charming and full of hope. Something she always looks forward to seeing.
Baking him cookies, his horrid mother never did that for him. He loves the ones you make, he says you put something special in them! (It's just a pinch of salt in the chocolate chip cookies.) Also baking WITH him. He's been trying to make pistachio cookies but he just can't make them green enough. (Need to blend the pistachios to make a paste)
Cooking with him. He loves all the domestic things. Feelings he could never get from his old home. Pasta, steaks, soups? Soups are your favourite to make in the Autumn and winter. Especially pumpkin soup during the Halloween season? (We're all just a little basic sometimes) In the spring, toss some salads together and sear some steaks. Maybe even make a nice roast on Sundays.
Washing his hair for him! Y/N running her fingers though his hair, gently massaging his scalp. Very particular about his shampoo and conditioner. He only trusts Y/N with his hair. Well Y/N and his barber. But Y/N has to be there if he's cutting his hair. Just in case!
Silent cuddles or small chatter. He's so comfortable with Y/N to the point where silence can be just as comforting as words of affirmation.
Allowing him to hold her. He's always afraid she'll be taken away from him. Just like James and Lily. He can't lose Y/N too. it would break him completely. Being away from Y/N was already torture enough. Sure enough, he also wants to be held sometimes, his head in Y/N's chest or tummy. Something soft for him to lay his head on while she plays with his hair? A sure fire way to get him to calm down and lull him into a happy state.
Get him to write letters to Harry! Harry always has some silly story to tell. especially with the DA being established. Loves hearing about his nephew's terrible love life.
Remus will always be down for a cup of tea and a chat, after all.. he did get fired ☠️ (Just not during the full moon, he can get quite grumpy)
Allowing Sirius to shift into his Animagus form, giving his dog form a wash and he can lay in the bed with Y/N. MAKE IT CLEAR HE NEEDS A BATH FIRST. Fleas are unacceptable in bed. Or in the house anywhere really.
Allowing him to be clingy and Y/N being clingy back, they may be codependent but hey, he's rich, she doesn't care, they don't need to work. They can spend all day together or helping The Order. But knowing The Order, he probably gets let off easy if he needs time.
Taking long naps, and I mean LONG. Three of four hours MINIMUM. Waking up at Merlin knows when and watching some TV with each other and falling asleep all over again.
Sorry this took so long?!! I won't lie, I forgot I HAD an inbox since I use Tumblr on my phone. I HOPE THIS WAS OKAY. SORRY FOE THE MASSIVE DELAY ❤️❤️

Ranking of Nuts:
Chestnuts. The GOAT. Have you ever had a fucking roasted chestnut, that shit is delicious. Probably the only type of nut I would genuinely choose over like, a cookie or whatever 9 times out of 10. Fucking fantastic. If you've never had a roasted chestnut, try one.
Hazelnuts. That shit that made nutella nut. Whatever hazelnuts are really good, especially paired with chocolate (many know this).
Pistachios. Love a good pistach. Fantastic ice cream flavor and also good on their own just salted. Great nut.
Peanuts. Solid nut. We have all had peanut butter. You can choose to eat the shells too if you're a real man and you have no fear of splinters. Anyway, solid nut. Solid nut (imo).
Macadamia nuts. Not very good.
Cashews. Comparable to macadamia nut.
Almonds. Honestly? Almonds are not very good. Sorry. I know they have a lot of enthusiasts.
Brazil nuts. Not good. Large in size though.
Pecans. These nuts fucking suck ass. Why did they decide to make a pie out of these? Literally not a good tasting nut. Bad.

feeling creative in the kitchen again so here's some food dreams i have for the foreseeable future:
i made a rice bowl for breakfast/lunch (honestly i usually just combine these meals together lol) and along with rice in my rice cooker i put a TON of ginger, scallions, soy sauce, mirin, fish sauce, + a drizzle of sesame oil 2 flavor my rice as well as an egg to soft boil it, i ate this with fishwife mackerel and 1/2 an avocado
miso glazed cod broiled til it's golden !!!! just craving that delicate flakiness that cod provides and i know i have some in my freezer i can thaw, not sure what to eat it with tho, any ideas are welcome !
my gf picked up a baguette from the patisserie near us and i have some kerrygold salted butter + radishes for a snack
i made another batch of miso brown butter chocolate chip cookie dough to scoop and freeze for single serve cookie emergencies
dreaminggg of some kind of creme brulee or panna cotta with cardamom and plums or pears ? or maybe a tart? possibly topped with toasted brown butter pistachios? i'm not sure but i have the most delicious plums and pears in my fridge that i need to use in something and im feeling very inspired by creamy desserts right now
craving the buttery richness of a thick slab of salmon basted in herbs and a good butter or something along these lines
a brown butter and sage gnocchi and sweet potato dish of some kind? not sure, this idea is still marinating
my easy go to meal is a turkey sandwich with pesto and goat cheese and i got these jarred roasted red peppers i think would be delicious with that
i've made a really delightful avocado, radish, bean salad before with a bright vinaigrette that could be tasty especially when eaten cold (it was like randomly 90 degrees today after being fall vibes for weeks so. crispy cold veg sounds delightful all of a sudden)

Homemade Basil Pesto Recipe
Homemade basil pesto is a wonderfully versatile and tasty sauce/spread made from a handful of flavorful ingredients. It comes together in minutes and tastes worlds better than store-bought because it’s so fresh. (Just like with lemon curd, store-bought pesto is nothing like real, FRESHLY made pesto!)
The uses for pesto are virtually endless, and you can use it in recipes like pesto pizza and pesto shrimp. Or use it as pasta sauce, drizzle it over grilled chicken, eggs, or roasted vegetables, spread it on sandwiches or homemade bread, or even swirl into hummus or minestrone soup.
homemade basil pesto
Today’s homemade basil pesto recipe is my absolute favorite. It’s classic, simple, flavorful, and completely fresh. You’ll appreciate how easily it comes together and that it tastes infinitely better than store-bought versions. Homemade pesto can be a dip, sauce, or spread and pairs wonderfully with so many flavors. Bottom line? Pesto is an easy way to instantly elevate any savory dish.
Originating in Genoa, Italy, pesto was traditionally made by crushing the ingredients with a mortar and pestle. Now it’s typically done with the convenience of electric tools like a food processor or blender. You don’t need to cook it at all, unless you want to roast the garlic first.
This Homemade Basil Pesto Is:
Fresh and flavorful
Incredibly versatile
Ready in minutes
Made with just a few ingredients
Easy to customize with what you have on hand
Extra flavorful with roasted garlic
fresh basil
parmesan cheese, roasted garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, lemon, and basil on countertop.
Key Ingredients You Need & Why
Basil: Fresh basil leaves are the base of this pesto recipe. Rinse and pat dry before using.
Pine Nuts: Pine nuts add structure and a light nutty flavor to the pesto. If I’m having trouble finding pine nuts, sometimes I’ll swap them for walnuts, pistachios, or almonds.
Parmesan Cheese: Fresh parmesan cheese adds a little saltiness and helps the pesto stick together. In place of parmesan (aka parmigiano-reggiano), you can use any Italian-style hard cheese, such as pecorino romano, asiago, or grana padano.
Garlic: It goes without saying that garlic adds incredible flavor to homemade pesto. I urge you to try using roasted garlic because the flavor isn’t as harsh as raw garlic. (Here’s how to roast garlic.)
Olive Oil: Olive oil is the main liquid and helps create a creamy, rich consistency.
Lemon Juice: 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice brightens everything up and really helps the other flavors shine. Many recipes don’t call for it, but I highly recommend it.
Salt & Pepper: Both add flavor and you can add them to taste.
Make it your own: For a twist, try adding your favorite herbs like cilantro, mint, or parsley; your favorite spices like cayenne, ground ginger, paprika, or crushed red pepper flakes; or add a dash of your favorite hot sauce.
FAQ: What Can I Use Instead of Basil?
When fresh basil isn’t in season, it can be really pricey or even impossible to find. I like to use kale, spinach, or arugula in its place. You can find the kale variation I like to use in this pesto pasta salad recipe.
FAQ: What Can I Use Instead of Pine Nuts?
Pine nuts can be really expensive, not to mention hard to find! Walnuts, pistachios, and almonds are all great 1:1 substitutes and you can’t really detect a flavor difference in the finished pesto.
For nut-free pesto, try pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, or cooked and cooled edamame.
pesto in food processor
Overview: How to Make Homemade Basil Pesto
Basil pesto comes together in a matter of minutes using a food processor or blender; just a few pulses and you’re done. The ingredients blend together rather easily, so if you don’t have a fancy food processor, don’t worry. It will still taste like pesto and it will still be good. (It’s hard to mess this up.)
Blend the basil, pine nuts, cheese, and garlic together in a food processor or blender. Add the olive oil and pulse/process to blend. Scrape down the sides of the blender bowl, then add the lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pulse this mixture until everything is blended together and relatively smooth. Taste and add more seasoning and any extra herbs/spices if desired.
Can I double or triple the recipe? Yes, you can easily scale up this recipe if your food processor/blender has the room!

How to Use Homemade Pesto
If you need inspiration, here are MANY ways you can use this basil pesto:
Pesto Tortellini: Use as a sauce over cooked tortellini with parmesan cheese and fresh diced tomatoes.
Shrimp: Try my creamy pesto shrimp for dinner—it’s super quick!
Pizza: Use it in place of pizza sauce on pizza crust; here is my pesto pizza recipe.
Pesto Bruschetta: Bake slices of a fresh baguette in a 400°F (204°C) oven until golden. Top with pesto, parmesan cheese, and diced fresh tomatoes.
Stuffed Peppers: Use pesto in my sausage stuffed peppers recipe instead of the chicken broth. (Same amount—tastes fantastic.)
Focaccia: Skip the herbed olive oil topping on focaccia (step 8) and spread 1/2 cup of pesto all over the dough instead.
Star Bread: Use my star bread recipe and reduce the amount of sugar in the dough to 1 Tablespoon. Spread 1 heaping Tablespoon of pesto onto each of the 3 circles. (3 Tbsp. total.) Top each with a light layer of shredded cheese, herbs, and/or chopped pepperoni.
Pesto Sandwich: Spread pesto on toasted bread, and add your favorite cheese or meat, greens, and tomato.
Pesto Grilled Cheese: Brush 2 slices of thick-cut crusty bread (like artisan bread) with pesto, add provolone or cheddar cheese, butter the outside of the bread, and cook both sides on a griddle or skillet until golden brown.
Swirl in Soup: Swirl a few spoonfuls into a bowl of minestrone soup.
Hummus: Blend 2 Tablespoons of pesto with parmesan garlic hummus.
As a Dip: Use it as a dip for homemade bread, breadsticks, crackers, or pizza pull apart rolls.
As a Spread: Spread it on olive bread or seeded oat bread.
As a Topping: Drizzle over cooked meats, fish, eggs, chicken meatballs, or roasted vegetables.

FAQ: How Long Does Homemade Pesto Last?
You can store this basil pesto in a jar or sealable container, then tightly seal and refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 2–3 months. Let it thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
To prevent your pesto from browning in the fridge, pour a layer of olive oil on top before tightly covering or sealing the pesto.
You could also freeze the fresh pesto in small amounts, in a greased ice cube tray, and then thaw the amount you need for a recipe when you need it, so you don’t have as much leftover to store in the fridge.

1/3 cup (48g) pine nuts*
1/3 cup (25g) freshly grated or shredded parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Pulse until everything is blended together and relatively smooth. Add a drizzle more olive oil to thin out, if desired. Taste and add pepper (and/or more salt) if desired. I always add a pinch of pepper.
Store pesto in a jar or sealable container, tightly seal, and refrigerate for up to 1 week.

You can freeze it in greased ice cube trays and thaw small portions at a time. Let it thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Parmesan Cheese: In place of fresh parmesan (aka parmigiano-reggiano), you can use any Italian-style hard cheese, such as pecorino romano, asiago, or grana padano.
Garlic: If you don’t have fresh garlic cloves, use 3 teaspoons minced garlic from the jar.
Other Pesto Variations: Try adding your favorite herbs like cilantro, mint, or parsley. Add your favorite spices like cayenne, ground ginger, paprika, or crushed red pepper flakes. Or add a dash of your favorite hot sauce.
I’m only posting this because it actually sounds kind of good

Seven Sentence Sunday/ Inspiration Sunday
Thank you for the tag @ladytessa74 ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
Seven sentences and moments that inspired them:
The rest of the afternoon for TK is spent on the couch with Jurassic Park on the TV while Carlos wanders around with a dust cloth and straightens things out. He stops for fifteen minutes and gets TK to sit between his legs so he can knead his thumbs into his shoulders and loosen the tension in his neck, and then starts on the food prep.
The credits roll, so TK gets up to join him by the kitchen counter and just be present. He follows Carlos’ beautiful hands and his large, toned arms as they stretch and flex – taking the serving platter out of the cupboard, piercing cornichons with cocktail sticks, emptying a pot of lemon-and-herb seasoned olives from the farmers’ market into a shiny black bowl. He slices a sourdough baguette into rounds; he folds slivers of turkey meat and roast beef; he empties bags of pistachio nuts and cashew nuts into a blue dish and a red dish respectively; he places salted breadsticks into a cut crystal glass and rains Mateo’s Cheese Balls into a matching cut crystal bowl. He opens the fridge, which in itself is a bizarrely sexy action, and counts the beers and ginger ales.
Carlos always worries that they won’t have enough of anything before hosting a hang, never realizing that his company is the thing about him that everyone wants the most.
