Tim Drake is such a middle child I’m sorry but when I think of the robins I’m like “oh! Dick Grayson! Best acrobatic, kind hearted but sassy. The og team leader or most skilled of just about most hero teams he’s on! Has worked to get out Batman’s shadow, despite (or due to) being around him the longest!!”
“Jason todd, super interesting character arc! Dead robin, back from the grave with vengeance and murderous tendencies! Screwed up father-son relationships and a particularly violent moral code, known for tracking down the worst of people!”
“uh that guy. yeah he drinks coffee a lot or something idk he’s been on his laptop in the corner for 3 days. we tried to chase him out with a broom and he won’t leave.”
“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 we’ve got mf Stephanie ‘𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭’ Brown…”

YJ is not allowed on social media
Most capes have like an official hero social bc people just leave comments like ‘captain colds out again no class?? 👀’ instead of flagging down a hero or getting the police to get the nearest hero so most crimes are discovered through viral videos
And yj decides that they need to be on social media so they make ig and tiktok accounts which somehow led to them running a smear campaign against Lex while he was running for president
it’s mostly videos of Cassie in a superman onesie flying around pretending to save damsel in distress!Kon while Bart in an ill fitting bald cap is sitting behind a desk clearly made of cardboard as he mutters about how he’ll show everyone the truth and petting a picture of a cat with drawn on angry eyebrows then the video cuts to Bart way too close to the camera saying ‘A vote for Lex Luthor is a vote against happiness’ then the video ends with Cassie in the same superman onesie with a lightning bolt taped to the front of it claiming ‘this message was endorsed by captain marvel’ [a week later captain marvel makes a posts responding to the video in a captain marvel onesie reaffirming Cassie’s claim]

as fire loves innocence (rr! sniper tim)
inspired by @yjcorefourenjoyer's sniper! tim idea, who graciously let me run around in their sandbox. :D
beta'd by @pinkcowzz :)
first sniper tim idea here! (not reverse robins tho)
Some extra content cause I wanted to! The Reverse Robins idea ABSOLUTELY got to me...
It grates on Tim. The way Damian looks at him, like he's a piece of gum, stuck to his shoe. Or maybe it just hurts, because Tim is Screech and Damian is supposed to be his older brother or at least something akin to such and Tim has always looked up to the Screech title. He passive-aggressively snipes back and forth with Damian about the problem with his gun for days.
A weak, cowardly weapon.
A deadly force of destruction.
It was laughable, how much Tim is affected by it. He can tell that Damian is trying to keep civil with him, but can't quite distance himself from his strained relationship with Bruce (and by extension, Tim himself) and Damian's disdain for guns. And Tim understands, which might be the worst part. Damian was, from what he can collect from data, trained from birth. An assassin, groomed to the highest order.
In comparison, Tim is just Tim. Sometimes Alvin Draper, now occasionally Screech. Or well, honorary Screech or whatever Bruce deems him, because Tim has yet to earn the title. But it's fine, because Tim earns what he works for, always claws his way out of agony and frustration because it's just what he does. It doesn't matter that his father is in a coma now that his mother is all but confined to a wheelchair, being taken care of in a facility far from Gotham. Tim has to be strong. Be patient.
Do heroes cry, he asks.
There is no response.
++
Except there is.
Tim wakes the morning after his parent's deaths and silently screams, sobs into his hands. It wakes up Bruce, because of course it does. Bruce cradles him in his arms but it doesn't help, doesn't stop the rise of self-loathing and hatred and Tim just wants to snap and break apart. He is not strong or patient. All he feels is shattered. His father's gun didn't save his mom and Tim didn't save them either.
His parents are dead, killed by Captain Boomerang. He was too slow and not good enough. It's funny, it's hilarious. Damian has been telling him that the whole time, but Tim's just too stupid, isn't he?
So what was the point?
What was the point of putting away a gun when all he wants to do is take his father's pistol and shoot a clip into Captain Boomerang's chest or maybe his head until he's dead and gone.
Bruce is going to take Screech away from him. It's an oddly loud thought, floating with the others.
Tim has nothing to do. He's not even fully-fledged as Screech. Just some kid who managed to get lucky and force his way into becoming a ward of Bruce because he deduced Screech's identity. (It was the way Damian's hand always twitched to his side, reaching for a weapon. Tim does that sometimes, when he's scared and all he can feel is the weight of his father's hand on his shoulder and a gun at his hip.)
Just some kid who couldn't even prevent his parents from being killed because he was too busy gallivanting off in the distance, never taking training that seriously.
He was so close to saving them.
It's not your fault, Tim, they murmur.
But nobody's blaming Bruce for taking away your guns when you needed them, are they?
And Tim simply can't. It's too much, the guilt and frustration crawling through his throat, scorching its way through his mouth. Damian's slightly guilty shuffle (which is loud on purpose, because Damian never makes a sound unless it's deliberate) sets him off. Tim is burning and lashing out and everything is spiraling out of control.
He doesn't feel safe, not with Alfred, not with Bruce, not with Damian. He just wants to feel safe and competent and good enough again.
The whispers follow him. Poor orphaned Timothy Drake. It was so nice of Bruce Wayne to take him in.
Tim wants to strangle them.
++
Tim waits until Duke is out of town. Damian, in space. Bruce, engrossed in a case. It's almost terrifyingly easy to slip from Timothy Drake's life into Alvin Draper's. It's far too easy for him to simply disappear.
Timothy Drake lies at the bottom of Gotham harbor, oh-so-unfortunately unrecognizable beyond a few items on his person. Drowned to death after losing unconsciousness and falling into the harbor. Two bullets through his lungs— caught off guard as a civilian.
(Just another drowned, forgotten civvie.)
Meanwhile, Alvin Draper rises from the ashes, burns the last remnants of Timothy Drake from existence.
Paris, he thinks, is a good way to start his career.
Far enough so that the last vestiges of Timothy Drake are scattered in the winds, smoldering cinders blown out. Far enough so that Alvin can forget the blood on his hands.
You have potential, Lady Shiva says.
I wish I had more, he does not say. Instead, he drags his fingers across her collection, looks at the flintlock hanging innocently in the middle. He grabs the bō staff instead.
She looks at him, eyebrows raised.
We will be facing the most dangerous criminals in Asia, she reprimands. Choose again.
He pockets the flintlock, secure against his waist, but holds tightly to the bō staff.
Alvin smirks a little.
"Hope you don't mind using a favor or two on me," he murmurs.
"My friends are generous," she concedes, a dangerous glint in her eye that says watch yourself.
a/n:
so. had some thoughts about this one. the timeline is definitely really messy haha but the main plot is: tim stalks batman, gets caught by damian -> obeah man incident (mom in wheelchair, dad in coma) -> tim becomes screech (robin but damian's vigilante title) and bruce's ward -> captain boomerang incident -> tim fakes his death
tim, i think in this au, struggles way more with feeling unsafe and incompetent. in this au, his predecessor came, already trained and bruce not needing an emotional crutch. AND tim's parents/ much of his connections to them (aka his father's approval and gun lessons) have been taken from him AND he doesn't really have this mindset where he tries to push back everything so he won't be seen as the angry/ emotional one (aka there's no jason-precautionary-tale hanging behind him)
tim chose the bō staff cause bladed weapons remind him too much of damian, but he'll put some at the end of his staff + start using guns eventually :)
also wanted to ease him into using more lethal weapons cause he's still teetering on the edge. it's a long long fall from here.

Young Just Us AU (or not depends tbh) of a yj that are more morally gray than their typically portrayed as. If they didn't kill canon they don't kill here, but pretty much everything else? well, if it gets the job done. Here the yj is kinda like how they were in the show, an off the books 'black ops' type of team, but with way less supervision.
They have little to no relationship with the league after realizing how badly they failed them as kids. The only they keep in contact with each other is that they both know yj knows too much and is too powerful to be in that complete gray area.
With everyone else mostly retired it's the core four (but others come help if their in town), and their known as a powerhouse team who is scarily good at what they do. They've got three major powerhouses and a world class strategist, all of who have some very impressive feats under their belts.
Their funded by Tim who is still CEO/Majority shareholder of WE, though he's starting to get involved with Drake Industries, he's in the odd place of partner/son/colleague place with Bruce that he can never quite escape. But after the timestream/eurotrip thing he's ready to take the next step forward, without batman.
Kon and Clark have reached a point where they understand each other, but for both interacting is just painful all round. so they aren't super close but will always come if the other calls, both say they'll try harder in a year or two, who knows if they ever will. kon doesn't know how to forgive clark for their earlier relationship, that, he is working on.
Cassie and Diana are still great but Cassie can't forgive the way the league has treated her people, especially as their leader. so she works/trains with Diana but want's nothing to do with the rest of the league.
For Bart, he and Wally have some cain and able shit going on so post max's death they still interact on occasion but thats about it. all parties are doing their own thing and everyone is ok with that.
this entire au is YJ becoming more independant and kicking ass and finding a bunch of loners they mentor/adopt

in defence of dick grayson
y'know what pisses me off? when people write a tim drake that hates and LOATHES dick grayson just so that he's closer with jason todd. obviously, there's nothing wrong with wanting two characters to be closer to eachother, but at the mercy of ruining a perfectly good relationship is just strange man.
dick WAS tim's robin, not jason. dick IS tim's first experience of brotherhood, and he had a lowkey hero worship for him as well. like this bitch travelled all the way to bludhaven, and sat in the scorching sun 'meditating' in the name of it being dick's training course(which was dick's excuse to be rid of tim 😭).
ya'll love to overdramatize their relationship with eachother because of that one issue in red robin, even tho they were COMPLETELY FINE after it. both of them were going through so much at the time, and were just not in the right state of being. you can point out dick's flaws cuz he has a hell of a lot of them, but don't act like tim was mentally stable in that moment of time. he lost so many people he cared for in such a short period of time and he was angry at everyone, not just dick. yet the general population seems to point their aggressions towards only him for some odd reason.
again, DICK FUCKED UP! BAD! but everyone writes him as this irredeemable monster which kills me a little bit inside, because this is a dude fresh in his 20's who was made to care for this gremlin child(who is extremely blood thirsty and maybe perhaps has a stick up his arse) and take on a crime ridden city while posing as his (assumed) dead father. it makes me so mad because they were the epitome of brothers and had such a sweet bond before all of this, but then the people just had a sudden switch up abt his character and collectively decided to say its fuck dick day !!
anyways, moral is tim and dick are brothers and have a deep rooted trust for eachother that even the other batbros don't have. stop portraying dick as a villain who doesn't give two flying fucks about tim because that's just untrue on so many levels. they are both flawed characters who made many mistakes, but ultimately they would still die for each other 👍
if u guys have anything negative to say abt this post, pls do so in a civilised manner. u have words for a reason, use them sensibly 😊

i know this has been rehashed over & over but one of the reasons i love tim drake is this:
Tumblr media
he’s arguably the only male robin that became robin solely out of duty, not trauma or birthright.
dick had anger issues that bruce wanted him to channel into being robin.
jason grew up on the streets & wanted to be robin to protect people like his mom
damian does it because he doesn’t know how to do anything else
tim? tim lived a privileged life. yes, his parents were emotionally unavailable which does cause trauma, but he really didn’t have any personal reason to fight crime. he did it because he knew batman needed a robin in order to properly help people. he did it because he knew there was crime to be fought. he left his life of privilege and comfort.
he’s the only robin who really, truly, has a choice. and he chose to put his life on the line to help others

What video games do the Batfamily play? Part Tim Drake.
Alrighty. Let's start with the biggest gamer of the bunch.
To begin the games I will die on a hill to defend that he plays
Myst: it’s a classic puzzle game. Tim stands by it for being revolutionary for the time and helping to build the industry.
HOI4: Listen I cannot stress enough how much of a HOI4 fan Tim is. Obviously he falls into the bi socialist side of the venn diagram and avoids the other players at all costs, but damn does he love this game. It’s easily his most played game, he’s installed so many mods for it (yes included the mlp one), he typically goes socialist, but sometimes does anarchism, syndicalism, or communism just to change things up.
WoW: it's either this or League. Pick your poison. I don't know enough about either to say what he plays in them.
Other games
COD, listen y’all thought Jason would be the COD player. No it’s Tim.
TF2: I as a medic main cannot properly give an assessment of who Tim would play, but my picks are Spy, Demoknight, and Engineer.
That said he had also tried Overwatch, but he couldn't get into it as much.
Pathologic: again he's into niche games with a cult following and games that are known to be hard.
Inscryption
Pony Island
System Shock
Portal
Half-life
Quake
Doom
And much much more
Gamer preferences
Grand strategy, war games, mmorpgs, honestly any game that is widely known in gamer communities. He's not into cozy games and finds them boring and underestimating. Also not one for rhythm games, he doesn't have anything specific about them, just not for him.
PC gamer, Tim likes to mod and the freedom that being a PC gamer allows. He emulates anything not available and that he can’t find. He also owns just about every console and collects physical copies of games.
Tim uses Steam and has the highest level of everyone. He has the most games in his library by far and most of them he doesn't touch.
He's a completionist. He will 100% that game and he will get all of the achievements.

this is hardly the only reason i would like to hit scott lobdell in the head with a shovel, and not even close to the main one, but. it gets added to the list.
(the fact that this is meant to be the equivalent of the infamous heads-in-a-bag scene in utrh makes it all the more insulting smh. where are the heads. let 👏 jason 👏 behead 👏 people)

You get to go back in time and bring child!Jason one item. What is it and why
Okay this one is really hard.
On the one hand, I could go to the time when Jason is living with his mum at home, and I could give him Bruce. Bruce would pay for Jason’s mum to get the help she needs. His dad would probably still die in prison though because Batman would send him there anyway. Bruce would end up taking Jason in after putting him through the foster system (Ma Gunn’s home) which failed. That way Jason would still have his Mum but stay with the batfamily if he chose to become Robin just like Tim. That way in the future he’d still die as Robin and become Red Hood. Which, selfishly I feel has a good outcome because Red Hood is perfect 😚
Or I if I go back in time for him while he’s a child but already Robin. I could warn him about his Mum and Ethiopia. Not really an item but definitely useful information. I don’t know what kind of outcome that would have. I feel like deep down Jason feels the injustice the people of Gotham face and he would ultimately become Red Hood. But without his death to trigger him I don’t know for sure if that would happen. Though knowing him he’d probably still go to see for himself if his real mum is alive, just in case there’s a small chance I was wrong. Which would still result in him being red hood. Yay.
Or you know maybe I could give him a gift card for therapy and tell him he’ll need it.
Not an item but I’d love to give him a hug :( He’s just a lil boy he’s suffered too much already.
Wow this has made me realise that I’d probably vote for Jason to die again if it meant getting Red Hood •_•
Okay I’m going to stop overthinking this because I’m too indecisive if you hadn’t got that already.
The one item I would give him is a cat. He’s been through so much as a kid and even when things are looking up back at the manor, it’s only natural for him to feel alone or even unwanted. This cat will be his best friend. After one of Bruce’s lectures, he will no longer sulk until he falls asleep. Instead he’d cuddle the cat because it loves him and is always there for him. I didn’t say dog because for a kid who lived on the street, I think he needs a calmer more docile pet to be his companion and emotional support, rather than a dog who can get a little jumpy. I just want Jason to have a little friend who can love him and he can love back.

I’d like to clear up some common misconceptions about the Attack on Titan Tower, aka when Jason infiltrated it to attack Tim
If you want to read this for yourself, here are some links: readallcomics - I have the best luck with this site on destop zipcomic readcomicsonline - this site can be temperamental
1) Jason did not go there to attempt to kill Tim
Jason seems to have 3 separate goals for this: - size up the new kid. - make sure he knows Bruce just sees him as another soldier - prove to Tim just how dangerous the job is (heavily implied, in my opinion, especially after Tim tried telling Jason he was wrong about how Bruce saw him) He also voiced his anger over being forgotten by everyone. Depending on your interpretation of Jason and his character, this could also be a reason. To me, this feels more like an afterthought because they moved to the Hall of Fallen Heroes before he said this, and Jason likes to be dramatic.
Side note on this. Jason never says anything about being replaced.
2) none of Tim’s injuries were life threatening
Once again, Jason was not attempting to kill him. He beat him up pretty badly, but it was designed to prove a point
3) Jason did NOT cut Tim’s throat.
That happened during Hush which predates both Under the Red Hood and Titan’s Tower. Jason was pretending to be Hush, put a knife to Tim’s throat, and put enough pressure to make him bleed (it was not an actual slice) to get Bruce to react to him. That injury was not life threatening either
4) Jason developed a respect and a bit of envy for Tim after fighting him
At the end of the issue while he’s leaving (while outside the tower), Jason acknowledges Tim’s skill. Jason also wonders if he could have had a life more similar to his, where he had friends and a better support system, if he could have had a different life.
5) Tim was NOT a damsel in distress during the fight, and he did NOT develop a fear of Jason.
Tim was making quips and dissing Jason the entire fight. Tim was not afraid of him nor did he bat an eye at being attacked by Jason. He also vocalized just how much he had to work for his cape because of how Jason's death affected Bruce
Also, the next time Tim saw Jason after this, he made sure to kick Jason in the groin
6) Jason wrote "Jason Todd was here" and signed it with a hand print on the wall.
It looks like it could be in blood, but Tim's not injured enough for there to be that much... and blood darkens after a while. There's a bit of time between Tim getting knocked out and the rest of the Titans finding him and the writing so it's probably paint. Again, Jason likes to be dramatic
7) more Robin!Jason slander by Raven
Once again, we get the mention that Jason was "aggressive". I swear, this is the only thing writers remember from Death in the Family and not the point that that behavior was out of the ordinary for Jason. This is a personal pet peeve of mine in the comics.
8) almost forgot to add the most important part, Jason made a homemade Robin costume and wore it under his Red Hood outfit because he could
Again, Jason is a dramatic bitch.

Dick: [looking at his phone] WHAT?! This is slander!
Jason: Something wrong?
Dick: Someone on Twitter just posted a picture of Red Robin and Nightwing titled "Twink and Twas"!
[Everyone laughing]
Tim: You know what, I'm going to take it as a win
Steph: Face it Dick, the people have spoken, you're officially old
Dick: I am NOT!
Damian: [makes a so and so gesture] Quite debatable
Jason: [snorts]
Dick: [squints at phone] Wait- this was posted from Central City- [gasp] Wally! How could he this to me?!
Duke: Uhh, where are you going?
Dick: [heading towards the door] Central City. I need to have some words with my traitor best friend
[Steph and Jason glance at each other]
Steph: Should we tell him that we hacked Wally's account?
Jason: Heck, no. You want to go follow him to Central and see the fallout?
Steph: Ooh yes~
[Jason and Steph leave]
Damian: [turns to duke] What exactly is a "twink"?
Duke: [chokes]

So there's this one moment when... (DP x DC)
(insert someone) forgot the taboo word ("I wish") when contemplating an issue quite seriously. Hey, human error is still a thing alright. Don't go and push that person for forgetting, especially since it's a recent thing.
Maybe it's Jazz, wondering how to remove her brother from their parents' custody considering how neglectful they are. "I wish I can consult someone about this situation," she mused.
Ofc, "wish granted," said by a certain genie.
Poof! One Batman (or maybe it's Two-Face; I'm not quite well-versed in DC but he's a lawyer at some point right?) appears so suddenly while Batman (or enter hero/villain/vigilante) was fighting.
My brain just wanna go to Two-Face route of which he'd learn the Fenton Situation(TM) in a roundabout way, and as a villain he is, offers to her pointblank for him to just straight out murder her parents and adopt Danny (and her), use his lawyer (cough villain cough) powers to summon a damned CPS here, etc, etc.
Coz he might be a villain, but he at least have SOME standards (as in, not going to hunt child-looking ghost without a PROPER RESEARCH, what the hell). And Danny honestly seems like a Bruce bait. And have that half-and-half thing. Certainly seems like a son between Dent and Brucie lol. Adoption for fuckery to Bruce, yes.
OR
It might be ANY of the students, wanting to know what to do with their future.
Sam, wanting to be activist for plants, wishes some guidance and Ivy appears. Paulina, Killer Croc. Tucker, Red Robin. Danny, freaking Al Ghul. Honestly, it can be anyone and any hero/villain. Up to you.
AKA
This is how Amity Park gets known by the US by large. And how the government employs lunatics to hunt down their hero-that's-slandered-as-a-villain gets known to JL. You really should thank Desiree. Two birds, one stone!
