Nonhuman expressions of affection are great. Purring. Exposing weak points as a show of trust. Head bonks. Preening and chewing. Nuzzling. Biting. Intertwining tails. Feeding each other. Little chuffs, chatters, beeps and squeaks. Fluffing up of feathers, fur or other things. Dancing to impress. Cleaning their fur, scales, feathers or skin. Sharing body heat. Ears pointing toward those you care about to show your full attention is on them. Slow blinking.

I'm so fucking stuck. On one hand, I'm pro atypical dysphoria and am essentially pro transid and pro paraphilia (anti contact for the big 3 and non consensual paraphilias) in nature, but I can not stand the fucking radqueer community. There has gotta be an alternative at this rate because some of them are cool and some of them are fucking wack jobs.

ok anyways
i am a mudi and many fictional characters! im homelander hughie campbell im everything and yet nothing.
im unhuman yet present as human, im a rabid dog on a leash yet to be tamed.
im not the average human with long brown hair and weird skin, i am a wild cat on the streets ready to scratch you.
im an animal trapped in a hot car, waiting for its owner, not the car’s owner.
im everything and nothing, people like you fear me because im ready to bite when needed.
The whole concept of otherkin and fictionkin is stupid. It's like taking roleplay way too far and deluding yourself into thinking you really are some other species/fictional character instead of just pretending to be one and acknowledging it. You are an animal, a ghost, a vampire, a demon, an angel, a troll, a werewolf, or some character in a TV Show/video game/movie/play/book/whatever. You were never something else in a past life. Reincarnation is not possible. You are a human being and you have always been one. Being an otherkin or fictionkin just being desperate for attention and seeking validation to be special taken to the extreme. Attention whores at their finest, ladies and gentleman.

Be Openly Scary
Society is scared of a lot of things it shouldn't be. A lot of those things can't be helped, a lot of those things don't hurt anyone, and a lot of those things are not what people even think they truly are.
So you know what?
Talk about your hallucinations, your delusions, your psychotic symptoms. Share things about your gender identity whether it be nonconforming, trans, xenogender or anything else. Scream about your nonhumanity and animal urges. Be open and unwavering about your systems existence, presenting as more-than-one wherever you want. Use and introduce your pronouns, even if people find them weird or offputting. Rock back and forth, pace, twitch and stim in any way you please. Wear things that reflect your identity in public. Get tattoos and body mods to your heart's content. Tell people about your personality disorders.
Don't make yourself small because others can't handle you. Be open where safe. Be you. Be scary.

❌ I hate this stupid body
Generic, makes you sound lame, no fun at parties, generally a downer
✅ I despise this vessel I am entombed within.
Foreboding, mysterious, makes you sound like an eldritch horror trapped biding your time

Okay serious post time🩷🩷🩷
And I'm holding you very, very gently while saying this
Stop blaming other people for the reason you get harassed.
We have multiple accounts. Multiple. And on every single one that was active we've been accused of "making things worse" for other systems because we weren't palatable for neurotypicals. I'm tagging this as a few other things too because it applies to those groups as well.
The catgender xe/xim Skye age 14 isn't the reason the guy on the street called you a slur. Transphobia is
The therian who genuinely believes they're an animal isn't why people mock you. Just bad morals are
And finally, that tulpamancy system isn't why you get fakeclaimed. Ableism is.
Infighting is useless, harassing other systems isn't fighting misinformation, transmeds sucks, otherkin people are cool. Blah blah serious post is over, if you blame your siblings for your oppression, you're no better than your oppressors 🩷🩷🩷🩷

Listen. How about you just.. use whatever term you feel most comfortable with. No matter if it doesn’t fit the most common definition or if you made it yourself or if it will likely change soon. Just be comfortable with now, and that can also mean going unlabelled. Because in such a time where knowing everything about you is encouraged, it’s fine to admit you just don’t know something yet.

Exotrauma
Having exotrauma from a "cringe" or "silly" source sucks. It feels like you're taken infinitely less seriously than those who have trauma from grittier, adult-geared and/or "acceptable" sources. Which in and of itself just isolates you and makes it worse.
I'm not just a silly little thing from your silly little Roblox game that could never show signs of trauma because it's 'just a kids game'--and I'm not your blorbo either. It feels like there's 2 common options for how people treat fictionkind with exotrauma:
Oh my poor little scrunkly, my little cardboard box meow meow.... Going to hold you because I love babying you and treating you like you're not even a person because I see you only as my favourite character. (Mind you, this is distinctly SEPARATE from actual friendly support, you can tell the difference.)
You're not a fictional character, get over it lmao. Yeah I know you are them but like you didn't ACTUALLY live through that, stop claiming it, it's disrespectful. Why are you upset at my memes about your death lol. Get a life.
So like... Maybe fictionkind are people. Maybe I don't want to think about the worse parts of my source. Maybe I don't want my trauma shoved in my face as a little funny joke, even if the context is changed. Maybe, just maybe... Leave alterhumans with fictional sources alone. Even if their source is lighthearted, even if it's for kids, even if it's the most "cringe" media you can think of.
Sonic the Hedgehog might've seemed fine in-source but maybe he's fucked up from all that he's been through. That warrior cat alterhuman isn't just being edgy, maybe they're suffering from the memories of fighting to survive day in and day out. Bluey is allowed to be not okay, and their source shouldn't dictate their experiences. Do you ever think that some Pokemon or trainers don't have amazing, adventurous lives travelling around with their best friends? Mario might have nightmares and flashbacks from his source. Mickey Mouse is allowed to be hurt, and allowed to express that. That MLP alterhuman isn't always going to be just a happy colourful magic pony with no issues whatsoever.
We are PEOPLE, and our sources being "happy", "for kids", "light-hearted", "fun" or anything of the sort should NOT dictate how we are treated here, what our experiences are "allowed" to be, or how we are expected to act. Treat fictionkind--of all sorts--like PEOPLE.

Fictionfolk aren't necessarily fans of their fictional sources
by Orion Scribner, January 24, 2025
For fictionkin, fictives, fictional introjects, fictionflickerers, fictherians, and other sorts of fictionfolk and people who have experiences of deeply personal connections to fiction, one's source in fiction is not necessarily one's favorite story or something that one "vibes" with.
Many fictionfolk feel uncomfortable reading, watching, or playing their source because it feels uncanny to see their truth turned into pretend entertainment, or because the canon feels like it got things half right and half wrong, or how it portrays them. That can feel sort of like seeing something misreported on the news that you know didn't happen like that, or overhearing strangers talking about your private life. For people whose memories from another world turn out to be similar to a piece of fiction in this world, one can feel uneasy about the mystery of how that happened.
Some fictionfolk participate in the fandoms for their sources... carefully. Fans can get uncomfortably personal if you say you are one of the characters, so fictionfolk often choose not to talk about that in fandom spaces, only in alterhuman spaces. Seeing how fans reinterpret you in art and discourse can bring up all sorts of feelings. Some fictionfolk decide they won't look at their source's fandom.
There are fictionfolk who wish they didn't feel that connection to that piece of fiction. There are fictionfolk whose source is a story they always disliked or found offensive. Maybe they have a lot of thoughtful criticism, or maybe it simply feels disagreeable to them. Sometimes recognizing one's connection to fiction starts with exploring why a story bothers you so much.
There are fictionfolk who dislike the authors of their sources.
Some fictionfolk are experts on their fictional sources. There are also fictionfolk who recognized that their memories and feelings have the strongest similarity to a piece of fiction that they have had never even watched and would prefer to never watch. Or they watched just enough of it to recognize it and then "nope out" on watching the rest.
Funnily enough, it turns out that feeling a profound connection with a piece of fiction doesn't have to come along with liking the piece of fiction at all.

"There's no scientific backing for endogenic systems and tulpas" says the Lemur Therian
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, I didn't realize Mr. Lemur that you needed scientific evidence to support people's identities and experiences.
So um, just for the rest of the class, @that-lemur, can you show us the proof that you are, in fact, a lemur internally?
Because without scientific backing, I just don't know why anyone should believe you, by your standards... 🤷‍♀️
Oh wait.
When it's your identity, your position is...
Tumblr media
Got it!
Anyway, reminder that the Alterhuman community is inclusive. It has always been inclusive since the term was coined, including plural and walk-in identities. (Walk-ins generally referring to a type of spiritual headmate who walk in to a system.)
Tumblr media
So yeah, if you're routinely posting in inclusive spaces, people will probably assume you're inclusive and safe to interact with.
Now, I find it pretty ridiculous that someone in the alterhuman community is using a lack of scientific basis to argue someone's identity is invalid.
But I also need to say that this factually incorrect!
Practically every source, including dissociative experts, have confirmed that endogenic and non-disordered plurality exists or at least may be possible. Anti-endos have yet to produce even a single doctor who has said otherwise.
And more recently, there was an AMA with psychiatrists researching tulpas in an fMRI study for Stanford University. One of their big findings was changes in the brains of tulpa systems during possession of limbs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is actual, neurological data.
Beyond that, here's a big document of other research and studies related to endogenic systems.
I could go all day with pro-endo sources. But here's the bigger thing you need to understand.
Bigotry like this has no place in the alterhuman community. Because if you decide that someone's identity isn't valid because they don't have "scientific backing," others will see that as permission to say the same about you.
The system medicalist ideology of requiring scientific validation is harmful to all alterhumans, not just endogenic systems.
