Trauma is not always gigahyperultra bad things that happen to people. What's traumatic to one person might not affect another person in the slightest. Trauma is individual to the person experiencing it. If you have memories of something traumatic that you have been told repeatedly can't be traumatic because its "too tame", this is your sign to start accepting that trauma

I hate the "u want kids to experience trauma!!1!1" reaction to saying the future is plural.

It's like. Of course fucking not. Ofc we don't want kids to go through trauma. Who the hell would want that.

But we know that kids will go through trauma. Kids are going through trauma right now. Kids are recovering from trauma right now. Kids are barely surviving bc of trauma right now. It's a fantasy to think trauma will be stoppable.

The future is plural is saying that we wants kids to grow into healthy, happy, plural adults. The future is plural is saying more plurals will live lives that they want to. The future is plural is saying that kids won't have to go through more trauma because doctors, or friends or family don't believe them, or force them to go through therapy/be on meds they don't want to be.

Jfc. It's a strawman to think we actually want kids to go through trauma. That's bullshit. We just want plurals to be happy, however that looks.

fun fact! the sysmed notion that "most endos have trauma they don't remember" is genuinely fucking disgusting.

here's some horrid things that little piece of sysmed rhetoric causes, in no particular order:

- self doubt

- looking for trauma that isn't ready to be remembered yet

- self harm related to the previous point (repeatedly engaging with the trauma to be "valid" despite how much damage its causing)

- looking for trauma that isn't there (and getting distressed when none is found)

- faking (in relation to the prior point; faking having trauma to be "valid")

- system repression/denial/etc

- "taking away resources from traumagenic systems" (aka... you prompted the endo in question to go to therapy that they didn't need for trauma they don't have)

- unnecessary splitting

- unnecessary integration

- unnecessary dormancy

I swear if I see an anti-endo say endogenic systems are claiming a trauma disorder when they're not, I'm going to scream. Like, yes, some endogenic systems do, but that's because they also have trauma?? Nobody is claiming you can have a trauma-based disorder without trauma, they're claiming plurality without a disorder.

I'll always say this:

Every disorder has a non-disordered counterpart. If it doesn't cause distress or affect at least one major area in functioning, it's not a disorder. This includes stuff like DID. Plurality is not a disorder, but DID is.
