As of Jan 21st, 2025, a full copy of the constitution is no longer available on whitehouse.gov. I feel like this is a good time to remind everyone that the biggest threat to authoritarianism and facism is a well educated and informed population. Inform yourself and fight.
a copy of the document can still be found on the archives website. I think now is probably a good time to read it if you haven't and download it, incase it is erased from here as well.

“your body my choice”. they are scared. they are scared because they are seeing the reaction of women, they are seeing the 4b movement, and they are scared. keep. going. women. you are so powerful right now, no man will ever change that. no matter how powerful he thinks he is.

Young USAmericans will straight up say “Why do we have to pick between two super old dudes! I hate this” and then proceed to vote at half the rate that octogenarians do. Like idk bestie maybe if you had actually showed up to the polls to vote for a candidate you respected during the primaries this wouldn’t be an issue

This debate is proving that we need a maximum age a person wanting to run for president can be and it needs to be like. 55, 60 at the absolute MAX.
EDITING TO ADD: I keep getting people re logging this saying "no make it like 70 or whatever, my (insert family members here) is in their 70s/80s/90s and they function better than these two!" Okay, cool. But I'm suggesting 55-60 as the limit to keep people who function like these two OUT of the White House I do not care if your great grandma is in her 90s and fully functional, I care that these two are going in to their 80s and clearly not, and that there are SO many other politicians who also aren't.

If you are getting sick of the two-party system and elections running candidates you hate, or incumbents you can't rebuke without electing someone so much worse, or partisan primaries repeatedly giving you the wing of your too-large-tent party that sucks... You need to look into making voting reform a big part of your political priorities.
Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) can be a big part of that!
And in 2024, RCV (also sometimes called IRV for "instant-runoff voting") is going to be on a lot of ballots, so check your state and get informed! Here's a list that I'm not sure is comprehensive, but I did research it for you to have somewhere to start:
First off, here's a post with some resources for you to do your ballot research with! I used Ballotpedia to look up this list, for example, after most of the RCV news only mentioned the 4 states with the most straightforward "vote yes for RCV" measures.
In Alaska... the state approved a RCV system in 2020 that has been a model success, but now the people with narrower support who lost their elections to broadly popular moderates introduced the Repeal Top-Four Ranked-Choice Voting Initiative to repeal it. This will be on the Nov 5 ballot as an Initiative, and people need to Vote No.
In Arizona... it's possible that optional RCV and a workaround RCV ban will both be on the ballot. The ban from the Legislature doesn't stop RCV but prevents the primary system often used with it - the goal is to make RCV harder to implement. It will be on the Nov 5 ballot as Proposition 133, and people need to Vote No. The Eliminate Partisan Primaries Amendment has RCV options and has turned in its signatures, so it may be on the Nov 5 ballot - Keep Watch and Vote Yes if it appears.
In Colorado... a Top-Four Ranked-Choice Voting Initiative modeled on Alaska's could bring RCV to state executive, state legislative, and congressional office elections. This may be on the Nov 5 ballot - Keep Watch and Vote Yes if it appears.
In Idaho... a Top-Four Ranked-Choice Voting Initiative modeled on Alaska's will bring RCV to Congressional office, state legislature, elective state office, and county elective office elections. This will be on the Nov 5 ballot as an Initiative (1), and people need to Vote Yes.
In Missouri... the Missouri GOP has been shoehorning in deceptive Constitutional Amendments to reduce voter influence for the past several elections. This year it's a ban on RCV hidden under a useless ban on non-citizen voting (which is already illegal and the state Constitution already says "citizens" when saying who can vote). This will be on the Nov 5 ballot as the Require Citizenship to Vote and Prohibit Ranked-Choice Voting Amendment, and people need to Vote No.
In Montana... signatures have been submitted for two separate constitutional amendments, one establishing Top-Four primaries and another requiring a majority-vote system to be implemented (which would likely be a run-off or RCV system). These may be on the Nov 5 ballot - Keep Watch and Vote Yes if they appear.
In Nevada... In 2022 the first round of a Top-Five Ranked-Choice Voting Initiative was approved by 52.94%. It has to be approved again in 2024 in order to be implemented. It will bring RCV to Congressional office, statewide executive, and state legislature elections. This will be on the Nov 5 ballot as Question 3, and people need to Vote Yes.
In Oregon... a Ranked-Choice Voting for Federal and State Elections Measure will bring RCV to Presidential, Congressional office, governor, Secretary of state, attorney general, state treasurer, and commissioner of labor and industries elections. This will be on the Nov 5 ballot as a Measure, and people need to Vote Yes.
And a bonus in South Dakota... it's not RCV, but the Top-Two Primary Elections Initiative (Amendment H) would be a significant voting reform, and it will be on the Nov 5 ballot. Do some research if you live there and decide if this would help or hinder elections.

REMINDER TO VOTE TODAY!
No, not just vote. Vote for Kamala Harris. The lives of queer, trans, afab, people of color, non-Christian religions, disabled people, literally any minority group you can think of are at stake! We can win, we can survive this. If you are an American citizen 18 or over, vote for Harris. This isn’t the time to “send a message” by not voting. This is your last chance.
The world is bleak for Americans if Trump wins. He is not for America, he is for himself. He is for the cishet able bodied able minded white man.
I am begging you, as a queer disabled person, to vote for Harris-Walz. This isn’t the time to deliberate.
By not voting for Harris, you are voting against the above minorities. I don’t care if you “still support them”. You are directly putting us in danger. Don’t be stupid, don’t be rash, don’t put others in danger. Lives are at stake here. Please, vote now.
Edit: Thank you all so much for your support- you guys did a great job sharing this around, I saw so many of you going out to vote, and it warms my heart and gives me hope. Unfortunately, the results are in, we lost. I’m devastated at the news, as are so many. I can at least sleep easy knowing that we all did our best. We did our part, and that’s all I could have ever asked for. Thank you so much, and I’m sorry we could not have done more.
Good luck.

I don't normally post about politics but here goes nothing.
If you voted for trump, man or woman, I want you to read as follows
I want you to understand how thoroughly you fucked everyone over. I want you to look at your children in the eyes and tell me if there is anything more than innocence or resentment.
If you have a mother, I want you to look her in the eyes. I want you to tell her that she'll be stripped away of her rights and she doesn't get a say in what happens to her anymore.
If you have a daughter, I want you to look at your babygirl and explain that there's nothing you can really do if anything happens to her. I want you to tell her that a gun meant more than her in your vote.
If you have a wife, I want you to look at her and see the fear in her eyes knowing that she is married to someone who couldn't care less about her rights and views her as property. I want you to try and tell her that you love her and see her struggle to respond.
I want you to sit down with your children and have to hold back tears while teaching them how to have even a small chance at surviving a school shooting.
I want you to look at the couples in your life that are not stable enough for a child and have to tell them that if they get pregnant by mistake they'll have to suck it up.
I want you to look at the women in your life and tell them that if they're raped and unfortunately get pregnant, that they'll have to go through that hell all over again.
I want you to go to a book store and see all the books you've ever loved disappear. I want you to look for The Holy Bible and be unable to find it when it's banned.
I want you to think back to the book Fahrenheit 451 and it's story. I want you to understand that this is the reality you want us to live through but worse.
I want you to look at the people in your life and have to explain to them that you're sorry. Women, people of color, gays, trans, etc.
I want you to look at future generations who never get to experience the same rights as you were blessed to have before and I want you to say you're sorry.
I mean hey,
Was it worth it??
Was it worth getting your guns back and "voting for your pockets"??
Was it worth the people who killed themselves out of fear?
Was it worth having the women in your life be told "your body, my choice"?
I hope it was.
I want you to remember what your choice was.

I am terrified and utterly devastated at the election news, and the nightmare that all trans people, poc, immigrants, women and girls, and other minorities will be facing in the aftermath. the weight of knowing that the president-elect's administration will not recognize or protect your identity and your rights is something no one should have to bear.
as a non american who's country will still be affected by the election, I want to express my unwavering support and solidarity for everyone who is suffering right now. so many of my family and friends live in america and while I cannot begin to comprehend the depth of fear and the gravity of the situation you are in, I stand with you and I am here for you. I am so unbelievably sorry that you are having to endure this, and I want you to know that every act of resilience and courage is incredibly admirable. we see you, we hear you, and we will not let you be forgotten or silenced. I promise that I will do everything in my power to fight the hate and ignorance that threatens your well-being. we are all helpless to stop this, but whether it's through advocacy, education, or simply being there to listen and offer comfort, I am here for you. remember that you are loved and valued beyond measure. your life is valuable, your identity is important, and your courage to live openly and authentically is staggering. your existence is not a political statement; and you have every right to live freely without fear of persecution or discrimination or your rights being taken away. one day you will live freely. do not stop fighting back.

Abortion pills by mail in every state.
please share this even if you don’t need them, because it could find its way to people who do!
I’d also like to say that what abortion is, is health care and basic human rights for those who want it for reasons that aren’t nobody’s business but their own
what abortion isn’t, is a man’s business. so you may keep your opinions away from my body. thank you
