BOMBSHELL: APRIL 8, 2025 — SUPREME COURT SIDES WITH TRUMP, BLOCKS 16,000 DEEP STATE REHIRES
The Supreme Court just dealt a fatal blow to the Deep State. In a 6–3 ruling, the Court sided with President Trump, reversing a California judge’s order to reinstate 16,000 “probationary” federal employees — the very operatives embedded to sabotage Trump’s return.
THE SHADOW ARMY JUST GOT VAPORIZED.
These weren’t harmless clerks. These were sleeper agents, injected into federal agencies during Biden’s collapse — a last-ditch firewall meant to resist Trump from within.
But the Supreme Court just pulled the plug.
They’re gone. And they’re never coming back.
This isn’t just paperwork. It’s war.
And the battlefield just tilted hard in Trump’s favor.
DEEP STATE LOSES ITS LAST HUMAN SHIELD
That California judge tried to freeze Trump’s purge under the illusion of “workforce protection.” But the Supreme Court didn’t blink. They upheld Trump’s constitutional authority to fire federal employees — especially the unvetted infiltrators posing as probationary hires.
The ruling wasn’t legal housekeeping — it was a wrecking ball through the permanent state.
THIS ISN’T A COURT CASE — IT’S A COUNTEROFFENSIVE
This is part of something bigger. The digital war on bureaucracy is here.
Elon Musk knows it. Trump’s allies know it. The Doge Army knows it.
They’ve had enough of bloated government, censorship, fake regulations, and hostile sabotage of America First innovation.
The swamp is being drained by force.
THE JUDICIAL COUP HAS BEEN EXPOSED
For years, activist judges have hijacked courts to block Trump and shield their regime.
Now the mask is off. The Supreme Court just declared: We’re not your puppets.
This isn’t just a win — it’s a strike against a corrupted judiciary that thought it could operate above the Constitution.
IMPEACHMENT JUST GOT REAL
Now the House GOP has new firepower.
Multiple Republicans are signaling impeachment proceedings against judges who violated the Constitution to stall Trump.
This is no longer political theory. It’s a tactical operation.
The judicial coup didn’t just fail — it got marked for takedown.
THE RESET HAS BEGUN
April 8, 2025: The day the Deep State got burned.
Trump is dismantling their firewall. One institution at a time.
The 16,000 embeds? Blocked.
The rogue judge? Discredited.
The system of sabotage? Malfunctioning.
This isn’t the end. It’s another strike. 🤔

You know, the MCU had so many great opportunities to really highlight Sam's pararescue background and flesh out his origin story on-screen.
I'll forever be sad we haven't gotten any flashbacks to him rescueing people in his EXO 7 wings.
Was he still serving when Tony was captured by the Ten Rings people? Could he have been frustrated at potentially getting pulled from his unit so that he and Riley could try to extract some billionaire weapons manufacturer.
Could've shown the times he butted up against authority, where he felt that following the orders given were the wrong move and wasn't right. (Something that tied into "Well, the number of people around here giving orders is down to zero, so yeah.")
Also, if Sam's EXO program was around before Iron Man 1, then the air force already possessed that kind of flight technology. Was the EXO 7 also Stark tech back then? Or was it developed by the Air Force itself? Did Rhodey know about it? Was he involved in its development as head of the weapons R&D sector? (I headcanon yes, cos I'd like history between Sam and Rhodey.)
Were the wings developed as a weapon/offensive measure first before they were then used for rescue purposes? (the military cynic in me says yes) Could this have been another interesting ethical dilemma Sam thought about.
Or maybe it could've been revealed that after field testing the EXOs in rescue ops, the air force was getting reckless with them and started sending Sam and Riley out on more dangerous offensive missions, and that's when Riley was killed (routine op was just the cover story).
Could've really hammered home the theme of Sam distrusting the government and that they will always end up using any weapon (or symbol) that's given to them. And he didn't want to be used again.
Anyway, this post got really away from me! This started as me thinking 'Gee I wish Marvel showed more of his backstory...the emblem of the 58th rescue squadron is LITERALLY an angel with its arms holding the weight of the world and shielding it with its wings. And if that ain't our angel Sam then...'

#it also has a sword#if Sam had a sword too i think i'd die#sam is a guardian angel to the world#sam wilson#sam wilson headcanon#sam wilson meta#idk#i think there's plenty of ways the MCU could've included critiques of the military that still could've gotten past the DoD hollywood office#the easy thing would've been to just blame any bad decisions on hydra lol#well they were running rampant through shield so they were probably also in other branches of government#cabnw#captain america

Favourites from November walks with Barney & Flynn, in years gone by.
#digging in the archives#November 2024#isn't shaping up to be the best November there ever was...#I woke up today to the horrifying results in the USA.#horrified for Americans who didn't vote for this... & for Palestinians... Ukrainians... & ultimately the rest of us too.#Always scary that an election in another country has so much impact across the globe.#I can only hope that Trump's impact on the US itself is less terrible than feared...#& that other governments & international organisations step up to counter potentially disastrous foreign policy decisions.#politics#worrying times#election 2024#dogs#barney#flynn#border collies

on the subject of individual actions, they do matter, which is why men flip out when the measured birth rate stagnates/doesn’t increase or drops. they worry and they get upset and they cry and they scream and they publish articles about how men are in a crisis and it’s all our fault because we are making selfish individual choices that don’t benefit their collective. it adds up. you may not think your individual impact is much, but men as a group, especially men in high places, usually pay a whole lot more attention to the individual choices of women than you might think. and they react. that’s all i’m saying
#it is usually hard for this generation to conceive of it but don’t underestimate the worth of your individual decisions#bc men and corporations and government organizations are paying attention to what women do and don’t do and won’t do allllllll the time#they are gonna gather data on us anyway. make it count

I feel like I don't really see people talking about how many parallels Egwene and Moiraine have in the books so here is my venn diagram. Feel free to add any more parallels from the books
#edit: Realized that they are also both from ‘governing’ families (Mayor vs King)#I might do Siuan and Egwene next but I feel like people talk about those more#moiraine damodred#egwene al’vere#wot book spoilers#wot#wheel of time#egwene al'vere#moiraine sedai#I could have included distrusted by Rand in here but I feel like they kinda have opposite arcs for that#wot amol spoilers#including Egwene sacrificing herself in here was painful to me because I hate that decision so much but it is a parallel

The Transatlantic Railway, part 7
We've finished all of our public consultations, and now we have prepared the final presentation to obtain the project's approval. Please review the slides carefully before you come to a decision. Whatever happens, thank you all for taking part in this project – your contributions are just as vital as from those who will actually build the bridge. Although, as our estimates suggest that this project will completely eliminate unemployment in the UK, US, and Ireland, it's quite likely you'll have the opportunity to work on the bridge's eventual construction.
With that, we now have the final poll of this project:
If you're curious, here are some citations:
Cost of the bridge: estimated based on looking at the cost per kilometer of like two bridges on wikipedia, multiplying by the length of our bridge, and then taking order of magnitude estimates
And for the US federal budget (you can hover over for dollar amounts, click on each box to see that department's spending breakdown):
#network rail#network rail polls#transatlantic railway#I had to say brought to you by the US Department of Defense because otherwise this decision would be too easy#It's strange how the US government spends more money on healthcare than defense#and then has a very effective military (possibly the most effective) but then doesn't have univeral healthcare#Anyway that's not really relevant but it was worth a mention

vg is a game where there a lot of parts I enjoy on paper and then you have to reckon w execution that keeps like. keeps immediately killing narrative tension before it can build
#I love rook as someone defined gy radical hope and bullheaded belief#but so much of what they run up against is just. poorly written obvious shitty government figures#or people who you’re supposed to dislike because they oppose u rudely#instead of being able to take a myriad of approaches to them and try appeal or at least understand their mindset#and then there’s the entirely seperate problem of the game lingering in issues that rook isn’t responsible for (team drama) which! FINE! I#enjoy a bad bitch shouldering responsibility as a way to keep control of the situation#but at the same time the game WONT???? let you linger in the guilt and shame and grief of calls rook literally makes?#I want guilt over weisshupt man! I want people tearing ur throat out over ur idealism ensuring u went in without a plan#how are you here empty chair therapy sessioning yourself over a friend’s death FIFTEEN MINUTES AGO when ur previous shouldering#responsibility for shit u can’t control did not come CLOSE the the magnitude of it costing someone’s life#and then there’s shit like Zara just. up and dying before really doing anything and Lucanis’s arc getting prematurely killed if you made a#critical choice which renders that writing decision even more baffling?#the entire time I was playing the confrontation with Aelia I was like wow this feels MADE for calpernia man this is relevant to her!!!!#tunes talks critical#the Gods’ main instance of vulnerability is expressed in a codex found in like#the second to last mission!!!!#veilguard critical

i think the biggest problem facing democracy is lack of understanding of the system. and i think that's why norway will end up taking a right turn in the next election as well, even though this government has been okayish navigating a frankly brutal int economy that the opposition definitely would have very different priorities in.
#like do i wish theyd taken stances further to the left? yes i do#i think this centre-left coalition has done an amazing job of being deeply uninspiring and pleasing nobody#and there are things passing now that are just a big fuck you to rural voters#but these are RIGHT-FACING DECISIONS#AND THE WAY TO AVOID RIGHT-FACING DECISIONS#IS NOT TO ELECT A RIGHT WING GOVERNMENT

I forgot that the New Republic once had Luke Skywalker go ask his ex if they could borrow her space navy
Like they really had him rock up to Bakura like "hey Gaeriel I know it's been like 15 years but there's minor crisis and all our battleships are occupied can we borrow yours pretty please"
#and then she like?? convinced her government to say yes???#horrible decision really#star wars#the corellian trilogy#assault at selonia#luke skywalker#gaeriel captison#star wars expanded universe#star wars eu#star wars legends

first day back at work after a holiday & I've already had to abruptly end a work call so I could complain to my mother about capitalism for an hour
#Let me be clear: I don't give a SHIT about small businesses#Starting a small business is not the solution to community development problems#Who owns the assets? Who makes the decisions?#Oh you want to replace governance with JUST SOME GUY? BUT DON'T WORRY A COOL ONE?#Yeah that sounds like it'll work long term for sure.#Me Fein

Help I’m thinking too hard about the unexplored world building implications of the seven kisses lead to pregnancy in a world where there seems to be/have been a patriarchy and also somehow it works interspecially despite humans and akiridions having entirely different modes of existence/bodily function
#that movie is still fucking me up (derogatory) almost four years later#like Aja overcomes a seemingly patriarchal issue of ‘princesses can’t be warriors’ that she at least thinks is systemic sexism until#she learns her mom was a warrior#but also her parents created a new global government so perhaps systemic patriarchy was a thing before they upended the old system (that#morando was trying to restore??)#but also what are the implications of this world that had make warriors predominantly but also the men got pregnant? I mean the women still#have breasts and the baby thing is quite fast so perhaps women stayed home with newborns?#and also that culture would probably have some sort of milestone associated with each kiss right? like Aja mostly didn’t care about Rules or#The Way Things Should Be Done so it makes sense she didn’t think too hard about milestones especially when surrounded by human dating cultur#BUT ALSO in the first episode(s?) the go out of their way to say that humans are biological and akiridions are ‘energy based’ so like how#does that factor into this whole shitshow?#did she maybe think the whole species thing meant she and Steve couldn’t ever have kids (which could be an issue with the whole ‘Royal’ thin#thus deserving exploration too)#and like also there’s the Aja and krel’s parents were somewhat less fertile or Aja and Krel have at least one dead sibling thing cause she#says 3 or 4 babies#and we don’t necessarily know if she and Krel were even from the same pregnancy since she consistently calls him little brother#and how do repeat pregnancies work? is it on multiples of seven or like is there something else to it?#don’t even get me started on vex having had a family (implied to be a wife and kids) nor how his relationship with Nancy will work in the#long run cause Jesus#I hate rott so much this isn’t even its worst writing decision#trollhunters rise of the titans#3below#3 below#aja tarron#krel tarron#tales of arcadia#toa

Big decisions about abortion and LGBTQ rights make better headlines but SCOTUS just eviscerated the Chevron doctrine and no one but my dork-ass lawyer colleagues knows how immense this is (even if Chevron was arguably dead in the water before, and they just finally pulled the trigger to put it out of its misery).
#scotus#Chevron#wonder what my old admin law prof is thinking#she’s a leading national expert in admin law I wouldn’t be surprised to see quotes from her soon#anyway y’all I’m not gonna bill shit for the next hour#just going to read this decision and think back to the weeks we spent learning Chevron in law school#even if the doctrine was dubiously dead already#but this is some massive precedential upheaval#and I don’t think non-law people exactly get it#even after working for the federal government in an admin law area#and even after going to law school and being a lawyer now who’s very familiar with it#it’s dense and impenetrable in many ways#it’s not easy to digest and understand the impact of especially if you don’t grasp the layers of the ‘admin state’#I could keep rambling but uuuuuuuugh#real lawblr

back in the dark ages, after the romans left britain due to some concern about an empire collapsing or something, after the anglo saxons showed up and [data forgotten] and were now in charge, people stayed out of london
the usual story is that they found the dense, empty, rotting streets somewhat upsetting (and besides, where were they gonna get food during that bleak time of general collapse and decay in britain?)
but maybe they could actually just sense, at some level, the awful poison that would be the uk government, and couldn't bear the stench of its future evil
fuck this bastard country
#uk politics#current events#(this is my usual sentiment towards this government but im currently feeling it extra aggressively due to today's supreme court decision)
