And this is why I have faith for the next Presidency.

Yes, Trump has a number of loyalists in Congress. But it isn’t all Republicans who are loyal to him. There are those who will vote against him.

Hopefully as he tries to get more extreme things through congress that number will grow and grow.

Considering how smug Mike Johnson has been looking recently now Trump is the incumbent it’s nice to see he’s been dragged down a peg or two.

I do hope something is sorted soon though, as I feel for those staff who may go without pay due to the shutdown.

This is a nice sentiment but extremely naive. The entire point of the Democratic party is to make a show of trying to do what the people want and saying "we'll get them next time" when the Republicans push things further right. You know the analogy of a frog in a pot not realizing it's being boiled alive. It's red team's job to boil us and blue team's job to make sure we don't notice, or at least make it seem like there's no way to stop it. Trying to make the DNC into what's talked about above is a fundamental misunderstanding of who runs the party and who those people serve.

That's why there's going to be a peaceful transfer of power to a man who incited an insurrection against the capitol. That's why the liberal media immediately started saying it's time to abandon "the woke agenda". That's why they will always insist on working across the aisle even when (especially when) that means watering down actually good legislation. It's all to make Republicans seem like the bad guys when both parties are being bankrolled by the elite and the billionaires.

The Democratic party abandoned the working class a long time ago, it's time for us to abandon them.
