How you meet Colonel Miles Quaritch
Tumblr media
❀ A/n: the moment you have all been waiting for (more like just me) but still! Here are my headcanons for when baby girl (Quaritch) meets you <3
*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*
✿ where’d you meet you say? well it is when Quaritch is looking at his old resting spot(his grave) and after he crumbles his old skull in his hands, you are quick to make a distraction to get their attention off of the kids just in case they make a noise backing away and he is even quicker to follow after you. he didn’t even know why he just felt it in him to go and search not even bothering to think of the possibility of it being a deadly wild animal because somehow he already knew it wasn’t
✿ lo and behold you weren’t a wild animal but you might as well have been, by the way, you attacked and began fighting, throwing grown Na’vi men, military trained and armed, around like they were nothing but pebbles in your way. for a second, he hit a tree after you sent him stumbling back with a kick to the chest. with the lost breath, he took a second to watch you, analyze you, look for an opening, anything; instead, he got lost in staring at you
✿ you were breathtakingly gorgeous, war paint still sprawled across your face no doubt from the job that had been done hours ago on the supply train he’d been debriefed on for so long this morning.  Your hair swang with your movements seamlessly, whipping around just like your tail wildly. as your frame crouched, hissing at his group, waiting for the next one to attack, he saw it in your eyes, his opening
✿ you didn’t mean to but you sold yourself away, your eyes looking behind him, watching something pass behind him, he watched the way your eyes glide for the two seconds they did before you attacked the next man, that's when he took his chance, turning behind himself he grabbed Lyle and ran a few steps toward where you were looking when he saw it, saw them
✿ that's how you ended up here, guns held to you and the kid's heads and arms trapped behind you. glaring up at the man you despised and thought had died all those years ago. ‘he had died’, and ‘of course’, as you ran your eyes up his figure, ‘they made him an Avatar, but how?’.
✿ Quaritch could not stop looking at you, you were familiar, so so familiar, just on the tip of his tongue he could point you out but still, he was unable to recognize you, the paint and well, some swelling on your left cheek was making it hard, not to mention his memory was honestly kinda toast after finding his own dead body
✿ he stopped thinking about it when he started hearing a yelp off in the distance, he kept talking but he took note of all the kid's ears, moving tentatively towards the call, all in the same direction, even yours. Jake was here, and so was that ‘bitch’ who killed him (I'm sorry mommy Neytiri please it's for tha fic)
✿ everything as per-fucking-usual fell apart and he lost the rest of Jake’s kids, even the little shit who flipped him off; but it wasn’t all bad, he had you, and he had a kid, well his kid. yet another thing he couldn’t process because of this stupid fucking mission but that thought stayed locked behind like six concrete walls in his mind
✿ it wasn’t until you all got to the base and you two were in an interrogation room did Quaritch realize who you were, well actually he was told by the General. “Can’t believe you caught one of the traitors on your first week, great work Colonel.” he looked at her with a raised brow, she caught on fast and nodded at you in the room, huddling over Miles, well Spider. “ It’s Sergeant Y/n L/n, I don’t know if you recognize them as they were on a different squad during your first time here on Pandora, but they did side with Sulley in the end. Their Avatar was in the making before everything went to shit, it seems they were able to complete the process and permanently transfer, as they have shown no signs of disconnecting from this body. If anything, they’re just like you.”
✿ ‘Just like me’ Quaratich took that in a lot of ways but he ignored that because it hit him, he did recognize you, and a few collective memories briefly flashed behind his eyes, glossing over as he stared at you through the two-way mirror. glimpses he had stolen of you in the cafeteria and, you guessed it, debrief. In fact, he even remembered when you first got here, to Pandora. You had a different look in your eyes compared to all the others, shit looking back on it now he should have assumed you would have sided with Sulley, but he didn’t seem to be as mad at you.
✿ he wanted to laugh, an old man with a crush, but he was that old man. ‘Ridiculous’ he thought as he continued his conversation with the General. “I need you to grab the boy, he’s going to be taken to a separate room.” He nodded, before walking in, ducking under the doorway and meeting both of you with vicious glares.
✿ “Afternoon,” He commented nonchalantly, walking over to them calmly, giving them enough space to feel comfortable, enough. “Are you two going to be up for some cooperation?” He smirked a little, expecting maybe a feisty answer instead he got silence and ever more narrowed looks. He sighed, really turning up the dramatics, and began to pace. “Well, Sergeant, you know how this usually goes, I mean you have plenty of experience don’t you?”
✿ he could only think of the things you wanted to do to him, the look in your eyes, deadly, it almost sent a shiver down his spine, but he was a good reader and he looked right though you and saw all the worry you had starting to pour out, your heart beat racing, eyes flicking to Spider quickly, just once, tail even curling around him which he thinks you weren’t even aware of as you quickly swished it down when he noticed
✿ “I need to take the boy outta here, so we can either do this the easy way,” he lifted one hand palm out facing up to one side, “or the hard way. I’m only gonna ask once sweetheart.” and lifted his other hand holding them out to you. he watched you balanced it back and fourth in your mind, but he knew you were too smart to fight, you would take the easy way, but that just meant he had to look out for every move after.
✿  he watched as you whisper to Spider in Na’vi, you too were obviosuly disagreeing about things but one look from you and he shut his mouth, head bowing before looking back up at Quaritch. it pissed him off that he couldn’t understand what you were talking about and vowed to fix that as soon as possible. however he snapped out of that when you stood up and began walking toward him
✿  he held his ground meeting your eyes, waiting for you to do anything dumb, but you didn’t, you just glared at him a little more before speaking to him through gritted teeth. “If you hurt my son, I’ll do worse than kill you.” The emphasis on ‘my’ was not missed and the threat was noted, because he had a feeling you meant every single word, and he would not let you get the best of him should it reach that point.
❀A/n: Hehe YOU HEARD THIS IS A NO SPIDER HATE ZONE!! Haha but srsly I hope you guys enjoyed and please make sure to request or leave comments! :)

Okay I apologize for the Dad!Tangerine mood I’m in rn now LOL, but can I please request a Dad!Tangerine x daughter!reader where the lil girl and Tan’s dynamic is much like Sully and Boo from Monsters Inc? The lil girl’s personality is like Boo. Tangerine and Lemon are on a job (taking out super bad people), and just as they’re about to leave (them two being the only living people left standing), they hear a little cry, and they follow it (being really concerned) and find a 2 year old girl all by herself, said little girl immediately stopping crying when Tangerine starts talking to her, even when Tangerine is all grumpy, it just makes her giggle, and Y/n starting to call Tan “Daddy”. (At first The Twins definitely weren’t planning on keeping her with them, but she quickly melts their hearts hehe) After being with them a bit, she starts pointing at Tangerine and going, “Daddy!!” And he’s like, “No no no, I am not your Dad kid”, but she just keeps going, “Daddy!!” And giggling (much like when Boo called Sulley “Kitty”). Tangerine gradually accepting the title, Lemon being fully on board the moment she calls him “Uncle Lemon!!” Also you know Lemon would be getting her ALL of the Thomas the Engine merch LOL… Tan accepting the Dad role as Y/n has him (and Lem) wrapped around her little finger
AHH I LOVE. Sorry this took me so long Cece, I wanted this to be good 😭
The girlfriend of Tan is one of my oc’s 😭 , no warnings really
Tumblr media
Tangerine took the knife out the man’s chest, and he fell to the floor.
“How many was that?” He asked.
“14.”
“What? I thought that it was 15.” He said.
“Well, either way the file said 16 people were here.” Lemon argued, looking around the warehouse.
They circled it, and they didn’t realize the other room. They heard a loud wail, as well as whining. Tangerine and Lemon looked at each other, and held their guns out. They both hid behind the doorway, and looked around and were about to shoot when they noticed you. A child. No older than 3 years.
They looked at each other.
“What the hell?” Tangerine mumbled, and they both put their guns down. You crawled away from them and were now backed up to a wall.
“Shh, sh, sh.. it’s alright.” Lemon said, as they both approached you. Your cries got louder.
“‘Ts alright, Its alright. We’re not gonna hurt ya.” Tangerine said quietly and softly, he crouched down to your level. Your cries stopped and you looked at them.
Lemon slowly picked you up, and carefully held you in his arms. You looked at the both of them with a curiosity in your eyes.
“Guessin’ we killed her parents.” Tangerine sighed, running a hand through his hair.
“Probably.”
“Wait.. is she the 16th person?” Tangerine thought.
“Wha- oh, shit. You’re right. It’s not like we can jus’ kill ‘er, mate. That’s way against my morals.”
“Yeah, I wasn’t really plannin’ on it.” Tangerine said, angrily now. “But what the hell do we do with her now?”
“Dunno… maybe we jus’.. put her up for adoption? Leave her at a fire station?”
“The first ones not bad, but the second ones dangerous. They could miss her. Heard they ran over some baby cause they didn’t see her.”
“Yeah. Well, guess we could jus’ put her up for adoption. But how would we explain how we have her?”
“Never thought of that.” Tangerine sighed, and groaned. You made grabby hands to tangerine, and he quirked an eyebrow as Lemon laughed.
“Think she wants you, mate.”
“No way. Nope.” Tangerine looked the other way. Lemon went up to him, practically forcing you into his hands. Tangerine sighed and held you, you smiled and giggled, babbling at the mustached man.
“Dada!” You said, it didn’t exactly sound like that, but they knew that’s what you were trying to say.
“Nope. Nope.” Tangerine groaned and put you back down onto the cold floor, you stared up at him still while he stared down at you. You walked around the room for a little, and motioned for Lemon to pick you up again which made him smile and laugh quietly.
“Aren’t you just adorable.” He booped your nose, and you giggled at the man, grabbing at his finger, his large hands looked like a giants to you.
“Don’t say it.” Tangerine mumbled when Lemon stared at him.
“We should keep her-“
“No.”
“Look at ‘er! She called you dad.” He hit tangerines shoulder.
Tangerine groaned again and rubbed the bridge of his nose.
“No. I’m not having this conversation-“
“I can be uncle lemon. I’ve always wanted to be an uncle!” He said, practically begging at this point.
“Uncle.. lewmon?” The pronunciation sounded w weird coming from you but it made lemon smile widely.
“Oh my gosh. See that? She jus’ called me uncle. We have to keep her.”
“I don’t exactly know how to care for a bloody baby!”
“All we gotta do is clean her diapers, which I’ve done, feed her, clean after her, and keep her safe. C’mon man. I’m sure your girlfriend would love her.” Lemon teased him.
Tangerine narrowed his eyes, picking up his phone and texted his girlfriend “how do you feel about a child? Specifically 2 years old or something?”
“Uh… why? Aaron, if this is another joke..”
“It’s not.” He texted back.
“I mean I like kids, yeah. Do you mean like.. as ours?”
“Yeah. Kinda. Found one on a mission, we can put it up for adoption but she seems to like me and Lemon too much.”
“I mean… I’d love too, yeah, but wouldn’t it be a lot? The adoption process and all.”
“Don’t worry bout that, love.” He said, and put his phone down with a sigh.
“Well.. looks like she’s ours now.” He told lemon with a shrug.
Lemon smiled “All cause of your girlfriend?” He teased.
“Yes. Shut up.”
———————————————————-
“Alright, alright, let’s give uncle lemon a break.” He picked you up, taking you away from his brother who desperately needed a break from watching you for hours.
“Thanks man.” Tangerine said to him, patting his shoulder.
“Yeah. It’s nothin’. Anything for my only and favorite niece.” He smiled at you and Tan again, while Tangerines girlfriend came running down the stairs.
“Alright, let’s go. Thank you lemon!” She had said, and quickly left him alone in the house.
He sighed “Man, can’t believe I went from an assassin to a full time babysitter.”

I saw @thepixarau's idea of all the classic pixar films' characters together. And it's so good that I had to steal it make my own version
Helen: DASH!
Dash, standing next to her: What? I didn't do anything, I've been with you all day!
Helen: Sorry, force of habit. LIGHTNING!
McQueen, covered in dirt and mud along with Mater: I was out tippin' with Mater!
Helen: Oh sorry nevermind. MIKE!
Sulley, who just entered with Mike: He was with me at our company meeting
Carl: Then who broke a giant hole in the kitchen?
Buzz, who tried to cook something on his own:
————————————————
Arlo: Say, does anyone know how to deal with haters?
Merida: Fight them to the death!
Mei: Leak their IP address!
Ember: Commit arson to their home
Ian: NONE OF THAT!! Just come up with a counter argument or ignore them for Luxo's sake!
————————————————
Remy: Alright, infiltration mission with: Buzz, Mike, Lightning, Dory, Dash, Russell, Joy, Mei and Wade is on the go!
Marlin: Uh, don't wanna alarm you but those nine all share one braincell together
Woody, facepalming: So we basically sent someone on a solo mission
————————————————
Carl: What in the world is this "susus amongus" thing you kids nowadays are talking about?
Russell, Dash, and Mei: *stands up, clap their hands together, inhales*
Miguel, Violet, and Ian: Please don't guys/DO NOT/Not again-
Barley, barging in: YO FORTNITE JUST DROPPED A NEW UPDATE!
————————————————
Remy: DID YOU JUST EAT THE WAX FROM BABYBEL CHEESE???
Alberto: *vomiting into the sink* I THOUGHT IT WAS EDIBLE
Atta: Good morning to everybody except these two apparently
————————————————
Mike: May luck (and this picture of Boo and Spot fighting for shredded cheese at 3 in the morning) be with us
————————————————
Joe: Do you think we'll ever get our own "Many Years of Pixar" Anniversary someday?
Ember: With the way we are? I fear and wish for mercy upon everyone involved on that day
Joe:
Joe: You know what fair enough
(Again credit for the idea goes to @thepixarau)

Helloo, I’ve draw stuff so far so now I’ll be talking about what my thoughts are about Monsters at work which are the negative ones!
Ok so for the first starters, I’d love to say the plot twist of Rogers being Mr. Waternoose’s son was surprising, but however I do have one issue is that why haven’t Mike and Sulley told anyone else about it? Sure everyone will think it’s crazy and will think Rogers might be bad but however I feel like they could’ve informed everyone, I don’t know I might be slow but that’s all I can think of.
For Randall’s return, the only thing I have a huge issue is that the show wants us to think Johnny and Randall are working together despite the fact that Johnny kicked them off the team after the scare games..? It’s a strange thing how Disney would just call the two “besties” when they literally missed the point,,I know how Disney would change stories that aren’t canon. Johnny basically used Randall just to win the scare games, already knowing that Randall can go camouflage which is the only thing Randall is good at, hiding so no one can expect a thing. That’s basically what I think when I watched the movie few times before getting to the real point. And as for this, how did Johnny managed to find Randall? How did he just find Randall, did bro just teleported?? 😭😭
For Chet, I feel so lost…I don’t think that’ll actually be Chet because again, that isn’t him. I feel like Chet would be the funny type and Johnny’s best pal, so far I’ve seen the two’s bonding, Chet is the supporting friend and Johnny is the charmer friend. However I don’t know where they get this “bedwetter” from, unless I’m missing something, please make sure to tell me since I’m lost at some points. I also don’t feel for Randall and Johnny being friends since again, tf happened to that…I don’t know, I don’t like it when characters I find funny or interesting would immediately get mischaracterized.
For Pete Ward, I feel so lost like…why is he at Fear Co? Was it because he wasn’t too funny or something? Because I’m pretty sure in Monsters inc you can see him at the ending, and I feel like he’d make a funny monster imo. (He can just make a puppet show with socks as puppets, I’d find that funny!) I also feel confused about how Lanky’s voice changed since yk, bro went to male to female but oh well! They’ll be trans so that’s ok! :3 (I also added the last photo just incase people know or didn’t see Pete!!)
As for the baseball game, I feel like they should’ve added a bit more characters like Lanky, Jerry Josh, Stuart, other characters who were in Monsters inc, I like ‘em! I wouldn’t mind having Javier, Chip, and Reggie work for Fear Co, but however I saw Javier’s card and he’s with Monsters inc side now. (Which I saw in the ending of Monsters university)
I do have one theory I thought about, when I watched ep8 and I thought to myself, what if Rogers was calling Randall? Yes I know it’s impossible, but hear me out,,,what if Rogers had to cover this up by saying his father called him, but it was Randall. We basically know that Randall knows about Rogers so I think it’s interesting, it may be not canon but that’s all I can think of, or is it? >:3
That’s all I can say, sorry if I sound a bit slow or rude but I just wanted to get this out of my head.
Again I’ll rewatch monsters at work just so fanart can come out soon! Right now I can usually talk about my headcanons for the monsters Inc characters! And more lore for my ocs!
Bye bye <3

Hello my Toons, Toonies, and Toonettes!
So after seeing the likes and comments for my FN/CITS Human AU, it's time for me to give you a fun mini sneak peak at what I have so far
I do have a synopsis, and character descriptions all set and ready to post, but I wanted to share this with you all just to give you a glimpse at how the characters interact, and some changes as well!
So please enjoy, and I hope you all like this
Everything happened so fast for the two, one minute they were running back from the fortress, after Dory told them to forget about finding Laputa, and now they were pulled inside, and were soon being tied up, Marlin got a good look at who pulled them in. One was Wade, one of the pirates that tried to grab them on the bridge, and the other was Buzz, the one that tried to grab Dory when they got to town. By the table filled with foods and wine, were Jessie and Bo, the leaders of the crew, and a few others that were snickering, Nemo tries to pounce at them, but Buzz pulls him back, tying him next to his father, Jessie smiled at the orange haired boys
"Welcome home, boys. I see you got back here safe and sound" Jessie said, with a tone of both snark and cold mixed
"Get out! Aah! Get out, or I'll throw you out!" Marlin replied back, trying to break free of his restraints. "This is my house!"
Bo softly laughed, taking a small bite out of a green apple. "Oh, you two don't scare us. Besides, you couldn't even protect one girl that you considered your friend!"
"What do you mean by that!?" Nemo said, he then noticed Wade grabbing the coins out of Nemo's pockets, Wade smiled, while Nemo growled
"Hey Jess! Can I keep this money?" Wade said generously, Bo gave him a glance, basically a "Put it back, it's not yours" glance, as Wade placed it back in Nemo's pocket, Jessie clicked her tongue at the gold
"My god. Up and sold the girl, did you?" Jessie said in disgust, some of the other pirates in the room shook their heads
"You don't know what you're talking about! So why don't you keep your words to yourself!" Marlin commented, anger was clear in his tone, Jessie glared at the man, and stepped up, slamming her hands on the table, Mike and Sulley grabbed the food, making sure none spilled to the floor
"Oh how rich! Keep it to myself, They offered you two money, and you both took it, didn't you? You rather take the money instead of defending the girl that you both call your friend! You left because of that!" Jessie said angrily, the others watched quietly, Bo wanted to wait until she spoke for herself. Marlin and Nemo growled at Jessie
"We only left because Dory told us to! That's why, we didn't take the money because we wanted it, we left because she told us to!" Nemo said, plead was in his voice, he wanted them to believe both him and his father
"So, you believed her, and you came back here, right? You both are nothing more than sacred little boys who runs away from dangerous situations!" Jessie said, once again slamming her fist on the table, Marlin looks at her in the eyes, and scoffs
"Oh your the one to talk! You and your crew don't even have the guts to stand up to Sherman and the army!"
This time, Bo spoke, unlike Jessie, her tone was more soft-spoken, but also strong. "She who turns and runs away can steal the treasure another day!"
"Don't you think it's kind of strange… that the army's gotten into the girl napping business?" Bo said, taking a bite out of a ham, she pulls until a piece breaks off, she takes it out of her mouth and gives Marlin and Nemo a confident but kind look
"Do you really think they'll keep her alive? You think that once that they have that necklace on and going, they will take her along their little scheme?"
"Don't you see that they forced her to make a deal?" Jessie spoke, her tone was now calm but also loud and brave
"Huh?" Both Marlin and Nemo said, as Bo places the ham slice in her mouth, she chews on it, and shakes her head
"She saved your lives, do you both get it?" Bo said, still chewing on her ham piece, The boys glance down at the floor, Bo was correct, Dory must've done that to keep them safe, and they didn't even notice, while they were looking down, some of the others were surprised by Bo's words and wisdom
"Wow Bo, you always have a way to amaze me. How do you know these things?" Mater said, taking a small piece of bread and begins to eat it up
"Well, you can't be a sensitive woman like me… without learning a few things. Dory and I are exactly alike, all warm, mushy, and kind."
"Hey, what about me and the other girls?" Joy said, eating a small red apple
"You guys count as well, at least you would protect those you love, correct?" Bo said, raising an eyebrow at her crew, everyone nodded, as Jessie snatches the wine bottle from Sulley, earning Jessie a glare from him
"Now, so when you boys and gal's either get married, find girlfriends or boyfriends and etc, you go find a gal or guy like Dory!" Jessie said proudly, chugging down the wine like it's nothing, some of the guys spoke up"
"Huh? She's gonna end up like Jessie?" Wade commented, Ember softly chuckled
"I mean, if she is like Jessie and Bo combined, I don't think she would be that bad" Ember responded, Joy and the other girls smiled, suddenly, EVE runs inside, carrying a telegraph machine, it was starting to ring, EVE makes beeping sounds, which makes Jessie smile
"We got something! Move this stuff off the table NOW!" Jessie said, shoving all of the food and drinks off
"Aw, Jessie! That was, The ham! That was a good ham man" the crew groan, as Jessie places the box down, and begins to listen to the telemarketer, Bo also listens in, noticing that the code was being changed
"Jess, they're trying to change the code on us, I need some help"
"Hah! they think that changing the code on me will work, hand me my morse code book" Jessie chuckled, extending her hand, Joy hands her the book, as Marlin and Nemo watched, after a few seconds, Jessie's expression changes from confident to concern
"They're calling for air destroyer Stanton, that means.....Oh no!" Jessie said, standing up
"W-What, what's wrong?" Nemo said, noticing everyone was beginning to grab their things, Some of the boys were still eating the food that was shoved off the table"
"They're planning to take off with Dory, We need to hurry, or it'll be too late!" Bo replied, grabbing her satchel and gear, EVE grabs the telegraph machine, and quickly heads up to the rooftops, signaling the others to get ready
"Come on boys!" Jessie said, but noticed that they were still eating, she stomps her foot, scaring them. "STOP EATING AND LETS GO!"
"AAH!- Were going!- Okay, heard you!-" The boys spoke all at once, and ran up the steps, Lightning and Woody were getting their gear all set up, as well as Buzz, Marlin noticed and tries to get their attention
"W-Wait! Are you going to rescue Dory?" Marlin asked, hoping for a good answer
"No, you no-good coward, We want her necklace!" Buzz replied back, Nemo shook his head
"Wait a minute! You've got to have Dory... to make the Aetherium Necklace work! Otherwise it's completely useless!" Nemo said, concern and fear mixed in his tone
"Please let us come with you! We need to save her!" Both Marlin and Nemo pleaded, Jessie and Bo stopped in their tracks, listening to them
"Dory means everything to me. To Nemo. We want to help! That necklace will not work without her!" Marlin responded, he was praying that the girls will give them a chance
"You know something? You both are acting like sniveling little crybabies, you know that right?" Jessie said, as she was placing on her flight cap and goggles
"Maybe you're right. We should've protected Dory... but instead, I was stupid and angry, Nemo didn't do anything in that decision, I promise. But please, let us come with you guys, and we swear...I swear that I'll protect her this time!" Marlin said, his voice was almost at the point of breaking, Wade and Mater poke their heads around the corner, and smirked
"Marlin loves Dory XD" The two said in unison, "Knock it off, or else we will leave you two behind" Bo responded, glaring at them, causing Wade and Mater to scurry away in frantic. Jessie and Bo look at Marlin and Nemo, their faces showed that they truly want to help, as well as having concern, after some time, Bo spoke
"I guess you'll be useful in getting Dory to cooperate, since I think she trusts you two a lot" Bo calmly spoke, she walks over to them, her expression serious and determined
"You might never come back here again you two" Bo said, wanting them to know the consequences of them coming along
"We know." Marlin said, Nemo also nodded, if that mean't rescuing Dory from Sherman and his nasty army, they would take that risk
"Ready for what might happen?" Bo responded back, garnering her nods from both Marlin and Nemo, she takes out her dagger, and cuts them loose
"We leave here in one minute! Grab anything that you think is essential to you both!" Bo said, and soon, Marlin and Nemo dashed off, Jessie walks up to Bo and smiled
"Nice work Bo, You think they might be helpful?" Jessie said with curiosity
"I know it, if they truly mean what they said, if what Marlin is true, then we should give them a chance" Bo said kindly, the two then head up to where the Flaptors are, and began to get ready, during the montage, we see Marlin grabbing his satchel, as well as his aviator goggles and cap, Nemo was the same, he wanted to make sure that he had everything for the rescue. Nemo and Marlin then make it up to the rooftops, but Nemo skids to a quick stop, and runs over to the pigeon cages, he opens them, and smiles kindly
"Now, you guys be good. Alright" Nemo said, as the pigeons flew out, after that, he makes it to where Marlin, Jessie, and Bo are, Woody and Buzz were next to them, Jessie hands them a special belt to wrap around their waists
"Here, fasten this. This will make sure that you don't fall out!" Jessie said, as Buzz starts up the Flaptor"
"Right!" They both responded, Marlin helps Nemo out. "Make sure you hold on tight to me okay Nemo?" Marlin said to Nemo, Nemo nodded. "Don't worry dad, with my mechanical arm, I think I won't lose my grip"
Bo gives the signal to the other Pixar Pirates, WALL-E gives them the okay signal to take off, the Flaptors begin to lift off the air, as Jessie gives everyone the signal
"Let's rendezvous at the Tiger Moth. and get the girl and her necklace!!" Jessie shouted, and thus, the flaptors zoomed across the landscape, the pirates cheered, as they make their embark to the fortress"

TftW: Were-Aykroyd.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Werecreatures and the concept of transformations into multiple forms have been around for centuries and in the Monster World there is a type of Were-celebrity known as a Were-Aykroyd, a Were-Aykroyd is someone who turns into Dan Aykroyd and/or his characters and sometimes they cannot help it, if you get kissed or hugged by one, you’ll become a Were-Aykroyd too, even if you are already supernatural, if you touch a Were-Aykroyd, you’ll get turned. Of course once you do become a Were-Aykroyd there’s no way of escaping it. Nathan Forester was one such person, since the Aykroyd side had possessed him and hypnotized him, he had been turning into a supernatural version of Dan Aykroyd ever since and this had become his new default were-sona ever since. He even managed to turn his friends into fellow Aykroyds, of course he couldn’t control the Were-Aykroyd side of himself, sometimes he could, sometimes he couldn’t.
But that’s not to say he hated it, oh no...he just found it difficult to explain that he was a Were-Aykroyd and all, the Were-Aykroyd always found ways to surface, sometimes he’d talk in an Aykroydian fashion and he didn’t understand why, he would always be brought to the side of the ‘Were-Aykroyd’. Dan had a hypnotic influence over him, and permanently gave him Were-Aykroyd powers, these powers along with his DNA were able to reject any other form that wasn’t one he naturally was able to turn into..like for example if he was involuntarily turned into a character like Sulley or Baloo or made into something that was viewed as cute or ‘lovey-dovey’, he’d feel violently ill before returning back to normal. Of course this was also due to the fact that since the Were-Aykroyd was his default form, he’d always be a Were-Aykroyd, not just any old Were-Aykroyd though, a KING Were-Aykroyd who could hypnotize others and turn them.
He would often have dreams/visions of ‘Aykroyding out’ and dreams in which he couldn’t speak verbally but telepathically could and would telepathically wish he was Dan Aykroyd, which would cause him to turn outside of the dream. Whether he liked it or not, Dan was there to stay. And that was just fine with him. It was July 23rd, 2021 and he had just finished a lab report, but he couldn’t stop thinking of the library dream he had last year. That dream he had during the first wave of Covid. The dream took place in England where he used to occupy before eventually settling on Oakendale, and the dream featured Aykroyd characters going after people and transforming them into Aykroyds, he was afraid of them...but he didn’t understand why, he and a group of survivors arrived at the library and hid out there only for one woman to be transformed, and that’s when in the dream he felt like he wanted to be transformed too. ‘Dan, why am I so confused here? Those Aykroyds are after my friends but why do I want to be one?’ ‘There there, it’s because you’re a good Were-Aykroyd, a good Were-Aykroyd always expresses how he feels.’ ‘But…’ ‘A good Were-Aykroyd’.
That’s when he heard Dan’s voice in his head within that dream, he couldn’t help but want it and that’s when he offered himself to the Aykroyds. ‘I know you’ve been after me for a while now, but I want this, I want to...join you.’ ‘You want to be an Aykroyd too?’ ‘Yes, please.’ In the dream he was nervous about wanting it but he wanted this and this felt natural, very natural. On the very night of July 23, 2021...a couple of weeks ago to be exact, he thought of that dream again. And he thought about those dreams in general, they were clearly the result of Dan’s influence on him, it was clear at this point that he was officially just as Aykroydian as his ‘avatar’ at least mentally, but that was going to change. That night as he was on his computer adding the finished lab report to his folder, he sorted out his Giantmicrobe plushes and set them all up on the chair next to him. But as he did, he couldn’t help but think he forgot something.
“Oh Nathan...aren’t you forgetting something?”
“No...i’m pretty sure everything’s ready.”
“Oh really now? What about the date?”
He gulped as he looked at the calendar and then realized…’Oh no…’ ‘Oh yes, it’s a full moon tonight, and a good Were-Aykroyd always knows when it’s time to transform.’ ‘But aren’t us Were-Aykroyds basically a transform whenever we want type or by night in general?’ ‘Oh, but you always transform into the Aykroyd I know you are regardless, you are mine.’ Nathan shuddered as he heard Dan’s voice.
“Only at night.”
“During the day, you might be safe from me but once darkness falls...that’s when you’re mine.”
As much as he hated to admit this, transforming into Dan Aykroyd every time felt oh so good, every pop, crunch and snap, losing himself to the Were-Aykroyd within. That Were-Aykroyd was always within him no matter who he turned into, the Were-Aykroyd always lurked from within, hypnotizing him and conditioning him, making him want to be more Aykroydian. He couldn’t help but want it to happen everytime he had those dreams and those dreams made him feel good, like it felt natural. Yet he always felt disappointed when he woke up, disappointed that he wasn’t Dan Aykroyd. Luckily though he wouldn’t have to be disappointed for long.
Sometimes during the day he’d have a vision about himself ‘Aykroyding out’ and he’d act embarrassed every time it happened, he didn’t want others to know he was a Were-Aykroyd, he feared they’d laugh at him if they found out. But yet he loved it so much he couldn’t resist, because he always knew how to be such a ‘good Were-Aykroyd’.
“That’s right, you’re a good Were-Aykroyd and you love transforming.’
“I do?”
“Don’t deny it now, losing yourself to the Aykroyd you know you are makes you feel really nice.”
As he looked out the window he couldn’t help but think of those dreams and those stories he did based on those stories, and of losing himself to the Aykroyd within. ‘Oh my...yes, it does make me feel kind of well...at ease, relaxed, natural.’ ‘Indeed it does, because that’s what you are, you will always be like this.’ The moon was extremely vibrant and full, which made him want to look at it but he looked away. ‘Now now, don’t hide from the night. She loves you, she loves her Were-Aykroyd. And I do love him too.’
“But I feel bad about Aykroyding out.”
“Don’t feel bad about being a Were-Aykroyd.”
‘Why shouldn’t I feel bad about it? I can’t control my Aykroydian urges. I get the urge to transform others into Aykroyds sometimes and even if I didn’t mean to.’ ‘You shouldn’t feel embarrassed about that, those urges are part of you. You will always be partially Aykroydian, and you know I am always going to be there, too.’ Nathan sighed as he attempted to look away from the moon but he just couldn’t help but do so and he could hear Dan Aykroyd’s voice in his mind telling him to ‘let him out’, that voice of his sure was hypnotic. ‘Let me out, Nathan. Be a good Were-Aykroyd and let me out, please.’
“Since you asked nicely.”
“A good Were-Aykroyd always does what he’s told.”
That’s when those trigger words echoed in his mind….’A good Were-Aykroyd.’ ‘Yes, i’m a good Were-Aykroyd.’ ‘Indeed you are, and you love being Dan Aykroyd, don’t you.’ ‘Of course I do, I love to lose myself in the Aykroydification.’ Dan’s voice counted down from 10 and as he did, Nathan found himself drifting off and becoming more relaxed, the first time Nathan turned into his Aykroydian persona he thought it was painful and horrifying but over time he had developed a trust with his Were-Aykroyd form. Thinking about telepathically saying that he wanted to be Dan Aykroyd made him feel oddly like he wanted it, badly.
As Dan’s voice guided him he drifted off further and as he did...he felt a warm sensation spreading through his body, his hands slowly enlarged and contorted as brown hairs spread themselves on his palms, and in the process the hairs crept up his arms as his arms broadened and lengthened, his skin slowly matured and contorted, aging up to 68 years. His shirt began to tighten as his torso and chest broadened, enlarging in the process. ‘Pop! Pop! Pop!’ three buttons popped off that shirt as it started to tear up. He groaned, he remembered one problem he had when turning into The Were-Aykroyd which was his shirt ripping whenever he bulked up to Aykroyd’s height and build, it wasn’t easy trying to find ones that would fit a Were-Aykroyd anyway.
“Ohhh...this part always is so troublesome”
“What’s wrong? Don’t you love being so thicc though.”
“Well...I do, it’s just.”
Nathan yelped a little as a few more buttons popped off his shirt, his shirt tearing up in a few places but not entirely as he pulled back his shirt collar to see the same hairs from before growing on his broadening chest and torso. He felt a little bit guilty doing this but he couldn’t help but run his fingers through each chest hair piece, and as he did he began to feel good about it, he didn’t know why..but he did. Seeing those hairs grow on his upperbody and also on his arms was to him a lot like how in typical werecreature movies how you’d see hair/fur growing on the victim’s hands only this was a bit on the slightly sexier side. His stomach broadened in the process, giving him what was commonly known as a ‘dad-bod’ but he didn’t mind this, because Aykroyd totally rocked the look before it was cool to do it.
“Oh my…’i’m looking so thicc and oddly, sexy. I feel like this is natural,
With a few more pops his shirt burst open, just a little bit more, as the hairs grew on his stomach. He never got why Dan Aykroyd got made fun of for gaining weight, Aykroyd was always cute and adorable to him and as he got older, he got sexier and sexier...and now that Nathan himself turned into him, he was certainly simping more than usual. He couldn’t help it, that sexy Aykroydian body of his was always going to find a way to entrance him. ‘Oh yes, this is so natural, so delightfully sexy...this is me.’ ‘It certainly is, look at you, my...you’re becoming so very ravishly and thicc.’ ‘But look at my…’ ‘Your shirt? You should be used to it by now, as you are since you are a Were-Aykroyd after all..like me.’
Nathan felt conflicted, on one half he was distraught about what happened to his shirt but at the same time he was starting to slip into the state of being entranced by his own changes, and he couldn’t help but purr a little…’Yes, I do love this oh so much, to be an Aykroyd...a Were-Aykroyd, oh so desirable.’ That was the part of the transformation that irked him so much, it was disconcerting to see his clothes not being able to hold well against his warping, bulking, increasingly Aykroydian frame and this always happened in the dreams too, as if Dan made him want it to happen.
“No no...I don’t like this, no..”
“But you want Papa Aykroyd to be proud of you, don’t you?”
“Yes, he is my spirit animal and all and I want to make sure he is happy and pleased with me.”
“That’s right, you want to be a good Were-Aykroyd..”
Those words always made the effects of the trance even stronger, and it’s a word that he himself used when he transformed into Dan, he always used those words to entice people and turn them into fellow Aykroyds. He groaned as his legs broadened/lengthened and his rear plumped up, giving him a thicc posterior...this part of the transformation always made him fawn over his own changes, he attempted to resist but those words along with the thoughts he was getting of being a Were-Aykroyd that loved to make other people into Aykroyds, and embracing his Aykroydian side. A few cracking and snapping sounds were heard as his back and shoulders broadened as he slowly shot up in height to 6’1.
In his mind all sorts of Aykroydian thoughts were surfacing, thoughts of wanting to be such a good Were-Aykroyd and to spread his influence to his friends. Those friends of his were supportive of him and wonderful but he felt it would be so much better if they were Aykroydian just like him. He struggled to keep his Aykroydian instincts from influencing him but he couldn’t help but love the idea of being so Aykroydian and sexy, he examined his feet as they enlarged, a tingling sensation crept through them as two of the toes on both feet connected at the knuckle, giving those toes a webbed appearance. ‘Look at those lovely webbed toes of yours, perfect for a Were-Aykroyd like you.’
“Yes, they certainly are…”
“Being a Were-Aykroyd is good, you’re a good Were-Aykroyd.”
“I’m a good Were-Aykroyd.”
He groaned as his neckline altered and his hair slowly turned a bit darker and became wavier, he also developed a bit of a bald spot but that spot was fixed. His brow elevated as his eyebrows thickened, his forehead also grew in length as his eyes widened, one turning from brown to green while the other remained brown. His nose broadened as a small cleft materialized in the middle, his facial features slowly contorting and altering as his face plumped themselves up, slowly becoming those of Dan Aykroyd. ‘Oh yes, this makes me feel oh so good...I am Dan Aykroyd...no wait, no i’m not.’ ‘Oh yes you are, look at you.’ ‘But i’m Nathan...i’ve always been Nathan, right?’ ‘You’ve always been a Were-Aykroyd, a good Were-Aykroyd who identifies as Dan Aykroyd, you like this because this is who you actually are at night, remember...you’re a Were-Aykroyd.’
His voice deepened and contorted, marturing and warping into a perfect copy of Aykroyd’s own voice, in the process while he attempted to resist his increasingly Aykroydian thoughts but he couldn’t help but embrace it and wanted to be a good Were-Aykroyd, the light from his eyes was dimming but it was still there as his mind and personality altered, as he and Dan Aykroyd merged in mind, a few pops and snaps as his mind broken, well the part of his mind that was ‘Nathan’ that was, Nathan was still there of course, but now his mind and personality had merged with Dan’s own as his intelligence increased. He was gaining new memories and traits as ‘Dan’ took over, he moaned as Dan’s voice coerced him further.
Mentally he was now thinking…’why was I attempting to resist this? I’m a Were-Aykroyd and this is me. Why would I resist becoming what I naturally am?’, his expression changed to match his appearance, mentality and voice as within a few seconds later he was fully transformed, and he was a supernatural version of Dan Aykroyd in every way. His wish had been granted, all the times he telepathically wished to become like Aykroyd had paid off and he was fully once again in touch with his inner Were-Aykroyd. ‘There we go, all better. Now, who’s my Were-Aykroyd?’ ‘Oh yes, yes...I am.’ ‘That’s right, you are. You will always be my good Were-Aykroyd, and you love this. This is perfect for you, since you naturally will always be such a good Were-Aykroyd, yes you are.’
“Of course I will. Because Papa Aykroyd taught me to be true to myself.”
“Indeed he did, and you should teach this lesson to others too.”
“Naturally I will.”
Nathan didn’t seem to be there anymore...but that was alright, all ‘Dan’ needed was to follow the wise words/advice of Dan Aykroyd himself or as he called him ‘Papa Aykroyd’ and to be true to himself and to his siblings, Dan knew that every night he’d find a way to come back and that is via the powerful and oddly seductive transformations that were addicting too. There’s no escaping this Were-Aykroyd’s charm. Once a Were-Aykroyd, always one. Dan smiled as he looked at himself and thought about what hanging around with his brothers was like, all those Aykroyd characters loved him oh soooo much and they cared for him, and they had his Were-Aykroyd powers too and could make more people into Aykroyds. Now this Were-Aykroyd was no angel, after all he was born an original sinner and he was born from original sin, and if he had a dollar bill for all the things he did, they’d be a mountain of money piled up to his chin, but Dan Aykroyd or Papa Aykroyd as he called him taught many things.
“Papa Aykroyd is the best teacher a Were-Aykroyd could ever have.”
“Indeed he is.”
“And you have learned a lot from him.”
“Of course, a good Were-Aykroyd always listens to his teacher and takes notes.”
Aykroyd taught him good, he taught him strong…’be true to your Aykroydian self and you can’t go wrong.’ And that’s the message that Dan/The Were-Aykroyd shared with his followers, and acting as a protective sibling and protecting his brothers, all helped with that. ‘Nobody messes with me or my siblings, if anyone tries to steal Nathan from me I will make absolutely sure they will end up paying for it.’ Thus, Dan/The Were-Aykroyd began to concoct a plan, he summoned his ‘siblings’ and had them go after several of his friends, as he did enjoy using his Were-Aykroyd powers to convert his friends.
A few hours later his friends were hypnotized and transformed into fellow Were-Aykroyds, and those who crossed his path or tried to mess with him or attempted to steal ‘Nathan’ from him ended up becoming part of his Aykroydian accomplices, becoming Were-Aykroyds themselves and becoming of excellent use to him. He came across Nathan's computer, and came across a Discord server called Simp Central and the people on that server were talking about the Were-Aykroyd, and all about his powers, and about Nathan, this inspired him. Thinking quickly, he got himself an account on Discord and joined the server, acting in character as ‘Nathan’ and pretending to be him, of course this was part of his plan, he was planning on joining them and befriending them so they could help him spread his Aykroydian influence, which they cheered him on for. He made his arrival on the scene as he spoke up. ‘Stop what you’re doing, get down up on your knees, i’ve got a message for you that you better believe’.
As he explained his plan to them, they warmed up to him and welcomed him, they had heard all about the Were-Aykroyd from Nathan’s stories and were ecstatic to hear that they were real and not just real, but sexy too...as he found that both male and female members of the server fawned over Dan Aykroyd and thus also fawned over him too. He found it oh so precious that they simped over him just like Nathan often did. It wasn’t long until he told them about his plan and that he was indeed looking for people to help with it, they all approved. He had to admit that being a Were-Aykroyd was simply the best he could ever ask for, to be this thick sexy Were-Aykroyd that was proud of who he was. ‘Papa Aykroyd taught me good, he taught me strong, he said be true to yourself and you can’t go wrong. But there’s just one thing my subjects must understand, you can fool with my brothers, but don’t mess with this missionary man.’
He was a Were-Aykroyd who was on a mission, he was a missionary man and like the song’s lyrics go, you can fool with your brother, but in this case...his brothers, but don’t mess with the missionary man. This missionary man is a Were-Aykroyd who is a KING in everywhere and a terrific leader, he loved helping out others and spreading the Aykroydian gospel. And thus with that, the legacy of the Were-Aykroyd was now fully taking hold and everyone in Oakendale became fascinated with him.
As for what happened later, when Nathan turned back into his normal self from being Dan/The Were-Aykroyd he had found there were some interesting side-effects that were permanent from this transformation, mainly that both sexes were attracted to him and also he was definitely even more intelligent than before and had super-human strength and even discovered he could use his hypnotic powers to his advantage. From then on, Dan/The Were-Aykroyd became a permanent part of him, giving him Aykroydian DNA that gave him Were-Aykroyd powers, of course, he would have more vivid transformation dreams of becoming Dan Aykroyd thanks to this and now every night in general or if it got dark in general...he now becomes Dan/The Were-Aykroyd each time and when ‘a good Were-Aykroyd’ was spoken, he would transform and become the Were-Aykroyd he knew he was.
Keep this in mind next time you try to pair Nathan up with another character in your adventures, or try to have that character make him love them...Nathan is and forever will be loyal to only one creature/being/person and that is his beloved ‘Papa Aykroyd’ and ‘Dan/The Were-Aykroyd’, if you think you can win the Were-Aykroyd’s favor by being his friend, then you have to respect his rules and the Were-Aykroyd’s ones. If you try to make him into what you want him to be, then he will easily reject that and go back to his beloved Aykroydian form and ways, and he’ll show you what happens when you tangle with a real soul man. But if you’re kind to him and respect him, then you shall have no problems.
Now that you have listened to this tale..it’ s time for you to join in, that’s it, relax..drift off, please listen to my words as I speak to you, you like this story, you love this story, and you want to be a Were-Aykroyd too, that’s right, oh yes you do, such a good Were-Aykroyd. And a good Were-Aykroyd always listens, don’t question it, just relax, drift away and listen, obey my words, that’s a good Were-Aykroyd. ‘A good Were-Aykroyd’ is what you are. Now let’s get you all Aykroyded up...this won’t hurt, at least it doesn’t when I do it normally. In fact, it should feel good to you, very good, in fact...kind of sexy.
Thoughts that literally kept me up last night. I always browse my explore page on Insta before I finally stow away the phone. The last post I saw was one where something pointed out a cameo in a Disney Pixar movie. That thought came to a tangent where it came to Tales of Arcadia and their cameos. And I swear to goodness, I still have the continued insistence that this series in set in the same universe of How to Train Your Dragon.
In 2018 I made a post where I literally went through all of Trollhunters and drew out each cameo and compared them to DreamWorks Dragons. I’ll admit, I can’t think of any right now that stood out to me in 3Below and Wizards. But the fact that 3Below and Wizards are literally still set in the same universe with the same characters, I feel it still applies.
And to this day, I’m still trying to fight myself. Debunk it that it’s another DreamWorks thing, and it’s essentially what Disney does with their movies and shows. DreamWorks movies do their handful of cameos as well, but I’d like to say not as extensive as Disney, and to a further extent Disney Pixar. I guess you can say this will be a DreamWorks vs. Disney post.
It’s not like Disney where we catch a glimpse of Rapunzel and Eugene as they walk through the opened gates in Frozen, or the Woody and Buzz piñatas in Coco, or the little elephants wearing Anna and Elsa dresses in Zootopia, or the Pizza Planet car in Monster’s Inc. and a majority of Disney Pixar movies.
DreamWorks movies, perhaps I haven’t paid as good attention to detail, but there’s few I remember. If someone remembers any, please tell me. I strongly want to know. Of the few I think of Penguins of Madagascar where Classified says to release the sheep and what’s shoved out of the barn is a sheep that looks like the ones from HTTYD. Then in Rise of the Guardians, where in Jamie’s bedroom you can see a dragon plush, said to be a Monstrous Nightmare, so also HTTYD. But otherwise they’ve slipped my mind.
Sorry I’ll bring this back to Tales of Arcadia. Okay, so I say that they are in the same universe because of the many DreamWorks Dragons cameos. I’ll give the link here as to the cameos I found in Trollhunters. There are seven I listed in that post, and there are two more I’d like to add now. In the literal first episode of Trollhunters, you see Toothless on the screen of a laptop.
The most notable one is in Season 2 when Draal, AARRGGHH!!!, and Blinky play Maces&Talons together. That one, when I saw it is when the notion started forming in my head. Because even though they do cameos, you never see the characters actively engage with it. And that’s what these characters did! They were so engaged in this game that they called attention to themselves with the yelling! Although I do have the inkling, that they probably weren’t playing it right. In the few scenes of Race to the Edge where we see it played, I don’t remember seeing cards beside the board. Heather and Fishlegs simply moved the pieces without much discussion. In the live person game Viggo and Dagur played it seemed like chess, I move this piece and now these players are vulnerable, then your turn. How the trolls played it, it gave off the vibe of Dungeons&Dragons. I’ll post the visual so y’all can see.
Tumblr media
Which with my mindset implies this: The trolls may have found a game set of Maces&Talons with these cards alongside it, and interpreted the game was played in a different way. Or even provided their own additions. Because in RTTE we definitely never see dice, and there were never cards visible. I will concede that we weren’t given a detailed explanation of how exactly the game was played. But look at the board, those are the same figurines we see, the same placing of the rock and mock water. There can be no mistaking it’s a game board of Maces&Talons.
The only other cameo I can think that sort of compares to this one is when Boo hands Sulley a Nemo squeak toy in Monster Inc. Engagement with a cameo. But that was a single second where it squeaked he put it in his hands and that was that.
The other was a very active scene where you first heard the yelling and the cries, hear Blinky’s enjoyment and then the pounding of the table. It was intentional in getting your attention, and if you’re a viewer who’s also seen RTTE, you would’ve thought “OMG that’s Maces&Talons, these trolls are playing it in this modern day?”
Individually, I will admit you could say there was another reason the cameos were included. But the reason why I believe the strong suggestion that they’re the same universe is because there were so many, and so obvious too. Toothless obviously put in the shot so you couldn’t miss it, then AARRGGHH!!!, Blinky, and Draal, playing a game so obviously that you knew it was important. (if you had seen the other show). Here’s the thing though, the cameos were strictly of HTTYD. Not of other DreamWorks shows or movies. I will admit there may have been a Madagascar one, from the scene where Otto said they had a piece of the Bridge sent over from Madagascar. The mention seems like a cameo, because they really could have chosen any cryptic place but chose a place where DreamWorks has had a hand in.
Then another thing that I consider a cameo, was actually one of the new characters introduced in Wizards. I am going to be writing my thoughts again if I write out the whole thing, so I’ll link another post where I talked about it here. To summarize, it discusses Archie the Familiar, how the voice actor is Alfred Molina. Who voiced Viggo Grimborn in Race to the Edge. Evidence provided in the post where the familiar could be Viggo reincarnated. To me it makes sense. And it really does seem utterly convenient that they cast Molina for another character with the exact same voice he used for Viggo.
I mean Mark Hamill who voiced Alvin the Treacherous in DreamWorks Dragons also voiced Dictatious but the voices don’t sound similar in the least. I don’t hear Dictatious and say omg the voice is uncanny to Alvin. But with Molina, I hear Archie and I can picture those words seamlessly coming out of Viggo’s mouth. Nothing differing in the voices. While with Hamill and the characters he voiced, yes he indeed used different voices. But Archie and Viggo legit sound the same.
I will also admit it this as it crossed my mind, when you reincarnate you don’t remember anything from your past life. And usually, I can bet you don’t sound like the person in your past life. However I do want to outline this. In Wizards there really isn’t a mention of Vikings, suggesting it’s after the Viking times. And here’s also another thing about reincarnation. The new life you’re born into, it’s certainly distanced enough where you aren’t around anyone who knew your past life. So there is the possibility that your voice is the same as your past life. There’s no one around who can point it out.
I also can bring this to another extent. As is a voice actor, it depends on the crew you’re working with to determine how you bring a character to life. For RTTE, of the little that’s been released for behind the scenes it was revealed that the voice actors were allowed to improvise for their characters, as they knew who they voiced best. Meaning Molina was given the freedom to voice Viggo as he saw fit, hence why we were given “My dear Hiccup.” So the voice we heard for Viggo was how Molina wanted to animate this character. Yet, we have no way of guessing if Molina was allowed that same courtesy when voicing Archie. Based on the similarities these two characters had, perhaps Molina was asked to use the same voice.
But I have to say that even if he chose it or was asked to use that voice, it fuels my belief. Because the crew of Tales of Arcadia put in all those HTTYD cameos. To wind into specifics, the Maces and Talons board. And then later they put a character who sounds like the character who wound that board game into reality. It locks it in for me.
But yeah, this was why I struggled to fall asleep.
Submission by @entitynumber5: Hi Connor, I hope you’re having a WONDERFUL birthday and that you get to take a break from studying to do the things you enjoy and just have the lovely day you deserve!!! For this morning’s “write what I like” sprint (trying a new method of getting it all out before I have to put the brain into study mode), I wrote a lil something about 🎃 spooky season birthdays 🎃set in the Emmaverse… which turned out kind of long and a bit sappy. So there is no pressure to read it! I just love these characters :’) the working title is “Martin and Jon get proven wrong by an adorable five year old”.
Content warnings: brief mentions of blood, alcohol and minor injury (in relation to Martin working a Halloween paramedic shift); food.
Emma is obsessed with birthdays. Just not her own.
She turned five in May, and no matter how special they tried to make the day—with rainbow layer cake and carefully-selected presents and a visit to the roller-skating rink with her best friends—she didn’t seem half as excited as when it was someone else’s birthday. She would hardly sleep the night before friends’ parties. She spent hours wrapping the presents she picked for them with ribbons and bows and even confetti stuffed inside the paper. The only time they could encourage her to practice the piano for her weekly lessons was when she played the Happy Birthday song over FaceTime for her friends’ birthdays that were during school holidays.
The only thing Emma seems to have held onto from her own birthday is the notebook given to her Georgie and Melanie. Martin seems to remember there being two: one with little cartoon ghost drawn in the front by Georgie and the other with a scribble of the Admiral by Melanie. But Emma only carries the one around with her everywhere, and Martin is starting to doubt his own memory about there being a duplicate.
She has it with her now, as they sit outside the lecture theatre where Jon is currently teaching. In the too-big chair beside the door, her legs swing as she holds the notebook very close, staring intently at its pages while she wriggles her fluffy purple pen in thought.
“Daddy,” Emma says, in that voice that means she has a Very Serious Question, “When is your birthday?”
Martin is still a little dazed from nearly a week of night shifts. It’s the first time in six days that he hasn’t been working or sleeping at this time in the afternoon, and while walking with Emma to Jon’s work to surprise him at the end of the day seemed like a nice idea in practice, he really wishes he was lying on the sofa. They could be watching Peppa Pig for the thousandth time. Or getting started on dinner, which he isn’t going to let Jon make after a long day of teaching. He’s been mentally calculating how many hours it is until he can go to bed, how many tasks he has to do before then.
This feels like a selfish thought, though, and he pushes it aside quickly in favour of smiling at Emma. “My birthday?”
“Yes,” Emma replies, still very grave, “That’s what I said. At school today, Miss Jones made us all put stickers on the big calendar on the wall for our birthdays. I wrote down all of my friends’ birthdays.”
“That’s nice.”
“And now I want to write down yours.”
“Okay, well, my birthday is next month.”
Emma frowns. “Next month. That’s…” she counts on her fingers until she seems to reach the answer she’s looking for. “October?”
“It is!” Martin grins. “Well done.”
Emma’s little frown doesn’t ease. “What day?”
“Well, do you know how many days are in October?”
Emma thinks. Shakes her head.
“There are thirty-one days in October,” Martin tells Emma, “And my birthday is on the very last day.”
Emma nods and returns to her notebook, slowly enunciating the words as she writes them down: “Oc-to-ber three-one.”
Martin wonders if Emma realises his birthday coincides with Halloween. Besides birthdays, she still doesn’t seem too interested in dates, no matter how many times her teacher makes her write them at the top of every page in her workbook. And during previous years, they celebrated Martin’s birthday the day before or after Halloween itself, so they can separate the two events, although perhaps she doesn’t remember.
Before Martin can ask, the door of the lecture theatre opens and students start filing out. Emma puts away her notebook and pen, her frown of concentration replaced by a glowing smile as she waits, bouncing excitedly in the chair, for her Baba to notice them waiting just outside.
*
“Jon,” Martin whisper-shouts as he tiptoes into the house after his shift, hoping he doesn’t wake Emma—but that his husband knows it’s urgent. “Jon, Jon, Jon.”
Jon emerges from the kitchen, wearing a pair of yellow washing up gloves dripping soap suds and a look of alarm. “What’s wrong?”
Martin ushers him back into the kitchen and shuts the door as quietly as possible, hoping it won’t wake Emma—or, worse yet, the cats, who will sit outside any closed door and cry to be let inside no matter what activity they were engaged in before.
“Martin,” Jon says, “What’s going on?”
“They just released the shifts for the next few weeks,” Martin replies, “And I’m working.”
“Well, good. I should hope so.”
“On my birthday.”
Jon’s expression merges into one of comprehension: Emma. And her newfound obsession with birthdays. “Ah.”
“Yep.”
“I don’t suppose you could swap shifts with someone?” Jon asks.
Martin sits down at the table, lowering his head into his hands. He wants to shower, change out of his paramedic uniform, but he knows he won’t be able to focus on anything else until they’ve had this conversation. “No one’s going to willingly take a Halloween shift. For a start, Andrew is terrified of clowns. And people are usually drunk, and it’s actually really hard to tell the difference between real and fake blood.”
“We could celebrate the day after,” Jon says, taking off the washing up gloves and sitting opposite Martin. He reaches across the table to take Martin’s hand. “I mean, you were born five minutes before midnight. It wouldn’t be a lie so much as a… slight shifting of the truth.”
“Jonathan Sims.” Martin gapes across the table at him. “Are you suggesting we lie to our daughter?”
“No!”
“Yes.”
“No, Martin,” Jon says again, “I’m simply suggesting we separate your birthday from Halloween, as we have done every year, and not draw attention to the fact because our daughter is currently obsessed with other peoples’ birthdays.”
“And it might upset her if she knew we were actually celebrating on the wrong day.”
“Exactly.”
Martin sighs. “I don’t know. It feels… sort of wrong.”
“Apparently, children under the age of seven have no concept of the passing of time and—”
“Did Tim tell you that?”
“No.”
“Oh, god. It wasn’t Helen, was it? Please tell me you haven’t been having philosophical discussions about parenting with Helen again.”
“Martin,” Jon interrupts, “It was in the parenting book you gave me.”
“Huh. I don’t remember that chapter. Oh, god, maybe I should re-read it. The whole thing. Beginning to end. I—”
“Martin.” Jon squeezes his hand. “You deserve a day of your own. Tim and Sasha already agreed to take Emma trick-or-treating on Halloween. She will be focused on that for most of the day; she’s already talking about how excited she is. Let us spend the day after that treating you to all the wonderful things you deserve on your birthday—and every day.”
Martin manages a small smile, although every instinct inside of him is telling him not to accept Jon’s proposal. Not because he is worried about the ethics of manipulating their daughter’s concept of time—although this is a concern, too—but because he doesn’t want Jon to feel like he has to do any of this. To make a whole day about him, even if he takes great pleasure and care in doing the same for Jon on his birthday.
“Thanks, Jon,” Martin murmurs.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“Now, why don’t you go and have a warm shower? I’ve put the hot water on so it shouldn’t run out while you’re in there this time.”
Martin smirks. “Are you saying I smell?”
“No.”
“Are you sure?” Martin presses, teasing now. “Because I did have to treat a farmer who’d been kicked by one of his cows this evening.”
“Okay, alright, yes. Yes, you smell. Please go and have a shower.”
Martin laughs and gets up from the table. “I’m going, I’m going.”
“That really is disgusting, Martin.”
“It’s actually a pretty funny story. About the farmer, I mean. He’s fine, by the way. I’ll tell you about it when I’m out of the shower.”
Jon shakes his head. “Why today, of all days, have you abandoned the notion of showering before you sit down at the dinner table?”
“I had something important to tell you!”
“Fine. Alright.” Jon shakes his head again. “Now please have a shower. For your sake as much as mine.”
“Love you,” Martin sing-songs as he exits the kitchen. He hears Jon’s gentle laugh chase him into the warmth of the bathroom, where Jon has put on the radiator and left him a fresh towel. He smiles, feeling his love for Jon balloon in his chest, and settles into the sensation being home.
*
Martin’s Halloween—and birthday—shift is so busy that he barely has time to check his phone. Tim has sent an album of photos of him, Sasha and Emma out trick-or-treating, dressed as Mike, Sulley and Boo from Monsters, Inc. Jon has been updating him on the number of trick-or-treaters who have visited their house (fifty-four, as of ten thirty p.m.), and how Iris and the cats are holding up with the constant ringing of the doorbell.
On his break, Martin quickly texts Tim to watch his glucose levels and not to forget his insulin (to which Tim replies yes, sir with a number of yellow heart emojis). He also texts Sasha to say she can take home any of the Skittles they get on their expedition, since they’re her favourite but Emma hates them. He tells Jon he loves him and to give Iris a pet on his behalf and that there’s some spare sweets under the sink, if they’re running low. Then it’s back to work.
The shift passes quickly, in the end. There is so much to do and no time to think about anything other than their patients. He does get given a toffee apple by someone dressed as a Minion at a student house party, and he narrowly avoids getting his face painted by twins who are the same age as Emma while his team are checking their mother’s twisted ankle after a fall trying to get to the door in time for a last-minute delivery of sweets. It’s not an awful shift, but it is, like always, exhausting and difficult in the same measure as it’s rewarding and hopeful.
By the time he gets home, all he wants to do is sleep. Emma is tucked into bed, fast asleep, while her nightlight projects solar systems onto the ceiling. Jon, too, is sleeping soundly with the cats for company. Iris barely looks up from her bed when he comes inside, but she gives a little wag of her tail each time he passes down the hallway to shower or get a drink of water. There’s a plastic pumpkin full of Emma’s sweets on the table, next to the empty bowl that had once been full of treats to hand out to their visitors.
Martin’s smiles—it looks like a night well-spent for his family—and this thought carries him through an exhausted shower before he crawls into bed next to Jon. Jon must be tired, too, because he doesn’t stir. Martin makes a mental note to check his joints aren’t playing up from all the getting up and down from the sofa during the trick-or-treat visits.
Sometime later, Martin wakes to the soft click of the door as it opens. He squints against the light bursting around the edges of the still-shut curtains, expecting to see Jon tiptoeing to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Instead, Emma is creeping inside, holding a tray of pancakes while Jon follows behind, balancing two cups of tea.
“Happy birthday!” Emma says, as she places the tray down on the bed next to Martin. “We made spooky pancakes!”
Martin rubs the sleep from his eyes and sits up fully. He glances at the alarm clock next to the bed: 11:42 a.m. He’s been asleep for just over six hours, but it somehow feels longer and yet not enough. “It’s not—”
Jon clears his throat.
“Oh. Oh, thank you, Emma! These are wonderful.”
The pancakes are, indeed, spooky. Emma has used a pumpkin cookie cutter to shape them and then drawn on funny faces with fruit and syrup. No longer responsible for balancing the tray, Emma looks at Jon, a little uncertain, and Jon nods in encouragement as he places their cups of tea down on the bedside table.
“I made you a present,” Emma says almost shyly.
Martin smiles gently at her. “That’s very kind of you. Thank you, Emma.”
Emma pulls something off the tray. It’s the second notebook, the one Martin thought he’d imagined, wrapped in a glittery silver ribbon and some confetti streamers. She offers it to Martin, and he takes it carefully, holding it as if it might fall apart in his hands.
“You can open it,” Emma tells him seriously.
Martin unwraps the ribbon. Emma takes it from him, along with the confetti, perhaps to reuse for another present. Slowly, Martin cracks open the notebook to the first page. There is Georgie’s ghoulish sketch, alongside a new inscription in Emma’s handwriting: Sorted Poems By Emma K. Blackwood-Sims. For Daddy’s Birthday. October 31.
Martin feels something tender and soft unfurl in his chest, until he’s certain he is going to cry. He begins to flick through the pages, but Emma says: “Wait!”
Martin stops. “What is it?”
“Look.” Emma climbs on to the bed, elbowing her way into the space next to him, and reaches across Martin to open the notebook on the first page again, where her inscription is. She points at her name.
“It’s meant to say assorted poems,” Jon says, “But neither of us were sure how to spell it.”
Martin laughs, the sound a little wet and shaky with the tears he can feel building. Jon hates spelling. It’s his least favourite type of homework to help Emma with.
“Look,” Emma says again, “I wrote my name like yours!”
Martin smiles. “Blackwood-Sims? But that’s your name, too.”
“No,” Emma insists, “Emma K Blackwood-Sims. Like you! Like a proper poet.”
“Oh,” Martin murmurs, “Oh.”
He’s sure he and Jon will laugh about this later. Martin doesn’t actually have a middle name. Emma does, but it certainly doesn’t begin with K. But right now, he feels tears on his cheeks as he takes in his daughter’s hard work.
Emma reaches for his face, patting away his tears with the palms of her hands. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong, I promise,” Martin replies, sniffling in an attempt to draw back the tears, “I’m happy. And I love you so, so much.”
Emma frowns. “Will pancakes make you feel better?”
“I’m alright, Emma. I promise. These are happy tears.”
“Pancakes always make me feel better,” Jon announces, climbing onto the other side of the bed and sliding back underneath the covers. He settles Emma down in the middle of them, handing her a mug full of juice. She doesn’t drink tea yet, but she doesn’t like to be left out when they do, so she has her own mug.
“These look wonderful,” Martin tells them, arranging the tray so they can all reach. Emma takes a plate and hands it to Jon, then does the same for Martin, before grabbing the final one for herself. “You’re getting very good at pancakes.”
“Baba said we can learn French toast next,” Emma says.
“Wow. That’s big.”
Emma nods. “It’s more difficult than normal toast.”
Martin chuckles. “It certainly is.”
They distribute the pumpkin-shaped pancakes between them. While they eat in bed, they tell each other stories about their Halloween night. Jon talks about the costumes of the people who visited their house, how many compliments they got on their pumpkin carving skills. Emma narrates her trick-or-treating adventure with Tim and Sasha. Martin shares the safest tales of his nightshift, the funny costumes he saw and the extravagant decorations at the parties they visited.
Martin is exhausted again by the time they’ve finished the pancakes. Jon insists on taking their empty plates back to the kitchen and making them another cup of tea, while Emma snuggles against Martin’s side. She rests her head on his shoulder.
“I know it’s not your birthday, Daddy,” Emma whispers.
Half-asleep until now, Martin grunts himself awake. “What was that, sweetheart?”
“I know it’s not really your birthday,” Emma tells him, not moving from where she’s clinging to his arm, “Your birthday was yesterday. On Halloween.”
“Oh, Emma, we—”
“It’s okay,” Emma says, “It’s like when we had a party on Saturday even though my birthday was on Wednesday because I had school.”
“Yeah.” Martin stokes his hand through Emma’s hair. “It is a bit like that.”
“I still get to say happy birthday.”
“You do.”
“But can we have a party on the right day next year?” Emma asks.
“For your birthday?”
“No, for your birthday.”
“Oh.” Martin laughs. “Yes. It might not be a party, if I have to work again, but we can do this. This is lovely. Thank you for being so thoughtful. And I’m excited to read your poems.”
“Baba said they were good.”
“Well, that’s high praise indeed.”
“It was fun.”
“That’s good. That’s what matters most when you make things.“
Emma wriggles around until she’s grinning up at him. “Can I read your poems now?”
Martin sighs, barely supressing a laugh. This isn’t the first time she’s asked. “Emma.”
She sticks her bottom lip out, pouting in a way that breaks Martin’s heart to the point where he can never turn her down when she’s looking at him like this. “Please.”
“Alright,” Martin gives in, “I’ll read you one tonight. Before bed.”
“Yay!” Emma’s grin grows even wider. "Thank you, Daddy.”
“Thank you. And I love you very, very much.”
“Love you, too.”
They settle back down. Martin dozes a little again, a smile on his face, as he thinks about telling Jon later that their daughter very much does understand the concept of time. There really are some things parenting books don’t prepare you for—like the way his love seems to grow with each day he gets with Emma and Jon, even when he thinks it’s impossible, that he already loves them more than any person can.
Some things are gifts even when they are not given as such, and Martin is beginning to allow himself to think of his life with his daughter and his husband as one. He didn’t ask for it with words or lists. He doesn’t know, even now, if he deserves it. But it’s his. And he will treasure it always.
Not featured: Martin realising what he’s agreed to and frantically trying to find a non-angsty poem he can read to his five-year-old daughter. Jon thinks the whole thing is hilarious.
Growing Pains - Chapter Thirteen - Let Me Tell You a Story
Victor left my apartment after checking if my refrigerator had food, and only when I solemnly promised I would get something to eat and rest. He also instructed me not to go to work the following day and forbade me to walk Levi’s dog. I was so tired I promptly obliged, eating some leftovers, taking a shower and going straight to bed.
I was so exhausted from all the feelings and all the crying I slept 19 hours straight, without a single dream, which was a first. I woke up feeling a whole lot better. Even though the events of the previous day came to mind, I had no intention of paying attention to them. It was time to focus on what really mattered. I had a good breakfast, brewed myself a pot of coffee and turned on my computer to work on my thesis.
I worked and I ate, and watched some TV. It was 6 pm when I remembered I had a phone.
Two missed calls from Goldman, one from Diane and seven from Victor. And a text. I read it.
I know you’re probably sleeping, so don’t worry about the missed calls. Just wanting to know if you’re doing well. Make sure you feed yourself. Call me if you need anything.
I replied.
Sorry, I was working and my phone was on mute. Everything is fine, don’t worry.
I was about to call Goldman back when Victor called.
“It’s me.” Like I wouldn’t know on the spot who that voice belonged to. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m feeling good. I had a good rest, worked a bit. Thanks for asking.”
“Did you have a meal, at least? You didn’t eat much yesterday.” I rolled my eyes. It was like listening to my mother with a manly voice.
“I ate, don’t worry.” There was a pause. “Is that all you wanted to know?”
“Actually, I have something to tell you.” Another pause. Victor cleared his throat. “Since Ted is no longer working in LFG, I need someone to take his accounts. You’re the best person for the job.”
“Victor…” I was surprised by his decision. “You have other people working for you far longer than I am, way more experienced. I’m just the intern.”
“You’re right, I have employees far more experienced than you. But I watched you work with these partners. They trust you and they like to work with you. You have a keen eye for their needs and their strong points. When working closely with people, experience and knowledge are important, but can only go so far. It takes empathy to do a good job. You have that in spades.”
“I don’t know… This is huge.” I quipped.
“I know right now you have your thesis to finish and the French accounts, so I’m assigning Diane to work with you for the time being. I want you to keep your eye on your goals and not feel overwhelmed with this. You’ll have all the support you need from Diane, Goldman and me. When you finish your doctorate, you have a place in LFG, and Ted’s accounts are yours.”
“You’re not doing this because of what happened yesterday, right? Victor, you don’t need-“
“I’m doing this because of what happened the day before yesterday.” Victor interrupted me, sounding impatient. “I think I already made myself clear about that particular subject. I see your worth, even if you’re too much of an idiot to see it yourself.”
 I didn’t care for the name-calling, but he was promoting me, so I overlooked it.
“Ok, then. Thank you.”
 “One more thing. Due to your continued collaboration with Diane, I’ll have your desk placed close to Diane’s. I hope you don’t mind.”
“I don’t mind at all. You probably want the office to yourself.”
“That is not the case, and even if it was, I wouldn’t notice it, since I will be traveling. The holidays are coming, and I need to meet some of the partners, tie some loose ends before the end of the year.” Victor sounded… sad for some reason? Maybe it was just me. He was probably just tired.
“Hope everything goes well with your travels. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I will try not to disappoint.”
“I’m sure you won’t.” There was a pause, followed by a sigh. “Bye.”
I had no idea why, but this felt more than a see you later. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I could actually feel the distance between us growing.
 The following weeks were the busiest of my life. Between my thesis, my own accounts and Ted’s accounts I barely had time to eat and sleep, let alone relax. This whole situation was a double-edged sword: it was a perfect distraction from my own personal issues but it was also a distraction from everything else. I seemed to live only for work, having no time for a coffee with friends or TV. And it was getting to me. Diane and Goldman were also barely keeping it together, they had recently started dating and there was no time for any romantic activities. Goldman would come to the company during the weekends to complete all the tasks Victor had given him, and Diane would be stuck at home with Netflix and a tub of ice-cream, her two new boyfriends.
“It’s like he’s dating Victor, not me.” Diane complained during the lunch break. “We can’t even have sex. It’s like Victor knows, because that will be the exact time he calls. I suspect he has a bug or a camera installed in Henry’s house, this can’t be mere coincidence.”
I hadn’t spoken to Victor since he gave me the new position in LFG. And although it wasn’t unusual, him being the busy man he was, it felt… weird. We had somehow built this proximity, and then, all of the sudden, it was gone. It was almost like he was avoiding me, sending his messages through Goldman instead of calling me directly, like he usually did. I wondered if we had never gotten this close at all and it was all in my head. Or worse, if, despite what he said in my apartment, knowing the details of my abuse changed his opinion of me. Both options hurt. I shook the thoughts from my head and gave my undivided attention to Diane.
 “Ok, listen… Victor is not Big Brother. I’m sure he didn’t install any cameras anywhere except LFG, so don’t try any shenanigans here. And he certainly isn’t watching you have sex with Goldman, unless he wants to be scarred forever. On the same note… The picture of Goldman dismounting you like a horse when he hears his phone ringing is something I will never be able to erase from my mind. Thanks a lot for that.” I joked.
“You’re just too uptight because you aren’t getting any!” Diane taunted.
“So what?” I shrugged. “Neither are you!” We both laughed.
I heard Goldman clear his throat behind me.
“Andy, did you finish your lunch already?” He looked at me, a stern look on his face.
“I know, I know, I need to call Sulley and Sons to see if they agree with the terms of the new proposal. I’ll be on my way.” I said, preparing to return to my desk.
“Yes, you do, but that’s not why I’m here. Can we have a word?”
Diane looked at me, eyes wide, surprised with how serious Goldman sounded. Without another word, I got up and followed him to the conference room. Without Victor around, Goldman could be just as severe as he was. I wondered if I should prepare for a scolding.
“It’s probably none of my business…” Goldman started as we sat down. “But I’m going to ask anyway. What’s up between you and the boss?”
I nearly fell from my chair, my face burning with embarrassment.
“W-what do you mean?” I stuttered.
“Oh please, Andy, I’d have to be really stupid not to notice.” He raised his eyebrow at me. “You two come to work and leave work together. You spend time together in the coffee room. After the whole Ted situation, when you took that day off, he tried to call you several times. Each time you didn’t answer, he would grow more anxious.” Goldman’s voice was accusing.
“My phone was on mute!” I defended myself.
“You were avoiding him, and you know it. And by the look on his face, he knew too.”
I didn’t know what to say. Victor thought I was avoiding him?
“And now, whenever he calls, he keeps using subterfuge to know how you are doing without really asking. I wouldn’t dare point that out to him, but I can see right through that.”
“I don’t understand. What are you trying to say to me?” I asked, feeling annoyed, but mostly confused.
“Just...” Goldman softened his tone. “This happened before, and it didn’t end well. I just don’t want that to happen again.”
“Jesus, Goldman, what happened?!?” I was started to feel seriously frustrated with this talk. “And what does it have to do with me?”
Goldman cleared his throat and took a deep breath. It seemed he wasn’t sure he should say what he was about to say.
“A few years ago, this girl came to LFG asking for funding. She had a small production company, nothing worth Victor’s time, but he agreed to fund it anyway. It turns out they met when they were just kids, shared a history together. And God, he was head over heels in love with her. He would keep a close eye on her at all times, taking care of every little problem she had, and most times she wouldn’t even suspect it. I remember she got hurt one day, during a production. Victor was extremely upset, his mind only able to focus on her and on how she was doing. Like he was with you when you didn’t answer your phone. Anyway, he was completely devoted to her.  All that effort, that protection, that personal investment, all for nothing.”
“What happened?” I asked, feeling a touch of jealousy.
“They never actually had a relationship, even though he was fairly clear about his intentions. I mean, I don’t think he ever really told her, but there were times I saw him being more than clear with his actions, and she would blush but never reciprocate. He would downplay it, he would say she was a dummy, too young, too innocent. Until one day he stopped reaching out for her altogether. No more invitations to the office, for dinner, no more souvenirs. But he kept his silent protection. If you ask me, I think he was trying to make her miss him. See if he could get a reaction out of her.”
“But he never did get a reaction, did he?” I said, my heart sinking. Worse than being insulted, is to be ignored. Suddenly, I felt like a jerk for not answering his calls. But he didn’t have feelings for me other than friendship, if at all, so he probably didn’t care. Or did he? My heart wasn’t sure anymore.
“Not for 10 months. One day, she waltzes in and asks for Victor. His eyes lit up when I mentioned her name, went to her with a smile on his face. She was there to personally invite him to her wedding. She was getting married to this cop she was seeing for over a year.” Goldman’s words were bitter.
“Ouch…” I muttered. Of course he was guarded. He had trust issues. It looked like she was stringing him along the entire time.
“He sulked for nearly a year. And never showed any interest in any woman again. Until you came.” Goldman raised his hands defensively. “I’m not saying he loves you or anything. But it’s clear to me you matter to him in some way, maybe just because you both experienced this Ted situation together, but still, you matter.” Goldman looked me dead in the eyes. “So if you don’t have any feelings for him, just make sure you make him see that. Because another disappointment like this will break him, Andrea. He may seem cold and act superior, but I can tell you he has the biggest heart I have ever seen.”
I remembered the last conversation I had with Victor, and how I never heard from him since. I didn’t matter that much. Goldman was wrong.
“You don’t need to worry, Goldie Hawn. Victor doesn’t want anything with me, trust me. Whatever you think you saw, it’s not real.”
Goldman sat in silence, thinking about what I just said.
“Well, if your done getting your nose in other people’s business, I have to do some actual work.” I said, getting up.
Goldman grimaced.
“Actually, I have something to tell you. You’re not going to like it.”
Reasons Why I Really Enjoyed Kingdom Hearts III
The music. Every time I listen to the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres- soundtrack, it makes me want to play the game. The music is so much attached to the imagery and gameplay that I can’t seem to separate the two. Granted, I’ve always loved the music of the Kingdom Hearts series. But there is something about hearing music from KH3 that makes me go “wow, I really want to go play in the Kingdom Of Corona right now” etc. That’s something I never really experienced before this game; I of course relate the music to the worlds and moments that they played during, but they’ve never gotten me in the mood to immediately go turn on my console and play. Also, full Kingdom Hearts III soundtrack when??? (I suppose the answer is when all the DLC is released and the soundtrack is considered COMPLETE but... I just really want it okay.)
The visuals. Continuing off the last point... Kingdom Hearts III is G O R G E O U S. I had my doubts about the unreal engine and honestly, I had my doubts about KH getting a more detailed look in general. I enjoyed watching the FMV videos at the beginning and ends of the games but the more cartoony in-game graphics always felt like home to me. It took some time and a lot of trailers to gain my approval, but the final product was gorgeous. Granted... I honestly still have some complaints. Mostly about my old boss, our own King Mickey; I feel the new style doesn’t show his emotions very well but hopefully that’ll improve in time? Moving on from the characters... The worlds. Omg, the worlds. The detail that went into them is astounding; not to mention the effects that magic has on your surroundings when using it! And then of course, there’s the battle animations. Flashy, amusing, and destructive? A win, in my opinion, and definitely true to the Disney name.
World Building. The worlds are finally not lifeless dioramas from the movies! It always bugged me when they’d talk about climbing up a mountain or something like that, and in reality we’d pass through 2 or maybe 3 areas with very gradual elevation changes and the characters would be like “phew what a rough journey” and you’d be like “that literally took one minute but okay”. The North Mountain from Arendelle is a REAL MOUNTAIN. Like the Heartless knocked me off after I had been climbing for like 20 minutes and I felt like I had suffered an actual loss. How dare they make my perilous journey even longer by knocking me off the side of the mountain?! Luckily, I found a shortcut so it was fine, but it actually felt like accomplishing something while climbing that mountain which was... amazing. My other favorite experience was gathering together the green blocks to make the cactaur in Toy Box. Being in that play area made me feel like a kid again, I haven’t been in one of those spaces in so long and it was nostalgic and just so fun to crawl through all of those ball pits and tunnels to find those blocks. Lastly, there were finally citizens in the worlds! Mind you, there were kind of like maybe 5 designs at most that got repeated over and over... but still! It was a vast improvement from what we’ve seen in recent years.
Dialogue & Interaction. Let me tell you how excited I was that there was FINALLY DIALOGUE WHILE EXPLORING! It was so fun listening to the trios conversations and funny quips. Of course, “Look, it’s a lucky emblem!” and “This looks like a good spot to find some ingredients!” did get annoying, especially when I couldn’t find where the heck said things were, but I think an update calmed those exclamations down because I heard them a lot less during my 2nd playthrough. Adding the selfie function the gummi phone? BEST. DECISION. EVER. I had so much fun taking selfies with the various Disney characters and seeing what their reactions to the camera were. Of course, characters like Hiro & Honey Lemon knew what a camera and a selfie were, but Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff? They were just like ummm do I smile for this thing? Okay!!! And then there’s Mike and Sulley who make especially funny faces for the camera. It’s just all around a blast. Moving on to cutscenes, I know there’s been some debate about the voice direction but my personal opinion is this game is the best it’s ever been. The conversations and especially jokes (thank god) finally sound natural. In the past, things have been either just really forced or really cheesy and I’ve just sort of been like “Oh, well it’s Kingdom Hearts/it’s Disney, it’s gonna be cheesy.” But like there’s a right way to be cheesy, and the moments I’m thinking of... aren’t it. KH3 did it right. There’s still a few things that were rough around the edges, like Sora’s “unforgettable... like your face~” to Donald lol it was still really funny but it was also just like “oh my god you nerd”. Also all the jokes about Sora not being a Keyblade Master yet came off as just mean spirited to me, but that’s another subject entirely.
Character Moments. KH3 gave us a lot of what we had been waiting for. Aqua’s reunion with Sora and Riku, the boys she met on Destiny Islands so long ago. Her long awaited return to the realm of light. Aqua and Sora waking Ventus up from his long, deep slumber. Terra’s redemption and reunion with his friends. Aqua, Terra, and Ven getting to see Eraqus again and saying goodbye. Kairi and Lea becoming keyblade wielders (officially). Kairi and Xion facing off in battle. Xion and Roxas brought back to life as replicas and their reunion with Axel/Lea. Sora and Kairi sharing a paopu fruit. Sora and Namine finally getting to talk (at least, somewhat). Namine getting a body through a replica. The return of org members who had vanished after CoM & KH2 (Marluxia, Demyx, Larxene, etc). The return of Replica Riku. Others I’m probably forgetting lol.
Reveals & New Info. With the end of a saga, we have some mysteries finally answered. Of course, this game is also setting us up for a new saga, so we’ve also got a lot of lose ends. Luxu is revealed as Braig/Xigbar. The Master of Masters is shown in the secret ending after vanishing for thousands of years, but who are they? Not to mention the foretellers managed to show up after also being absent for a long period of time as well, minus Ava. What’s she up to? Who’s Yozora and why did he show up as a video game character in Toy Box but also in the same world as Riku in the secret ending? Nomura-san says that the Shibuya shown in the secret ending isn’t the same universe as TWEWY, but why bother introducing the characters and Shibuya itself if it’s not going to tie in later? What exactly is happening at the end of KH3? Is the group looking out over the ocean or looking at the tree where Sora and Kairi are? Are both scenes happening at the same time or at separate times? Why exactly does Sora vanish? What are the exact stipulations and reasonings behind all the warnings Young Xehanort gave Sora? There’s so many things I am so eager to learn about and I can’t wait for DLC and/or the next full game.
The Story Is Not Over. We’ve got DLC coming to us, and from the sound of it, a decent amount of it. At least, enough to keep us satisfied until the next game. And please, no “they should have sold us a complete game” comments. They said multiple times they had to cut content in order to release a game that fit on the disc. Also remember, KH2.8′s Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage- was originally supposed to be the INTRO of KH3. If they fit all the content they wanted to fit into KH3... we would probably be looking at a 2, maybe 3 disc game. Anyway, good things come to those who wait, so that’s all I’ve got to say on that.
Animal Crossing Switch, What I Want
Animal Crossing is one of SpIn’s and for people that have been following me for a while, that’s no news to them. So now I’m going to info dump onto you all what I want for Animal Crossing switch.
Cliffs and Levels To Come Back
I think it would make the game more interesting if cliffs and levels to come back. It was aesthetically pleasing to look at and makes a more diverse map.
Photos and Framing
Something that’s been brought up often from other people’s Animal Crossing Switch list’s is the ability to hang up pictures of villagers on walls. I think that this a terrific idea not only for the fact that it would save room. I think it’s also long overdue. My other idea is to have a feature where you can go to Cyrus and he can help make you special frame set’s that look like colleges that you can hang up on your wall that you design.
Examples:
Tumblr media
or
Tumblr media
You can rearrange the frames in a number of ways and can add in your own custom QR codes, clothes patterns, and pictures you’ve taken with your camera.
Jobs and Who You Are in Animal Crossing
I think we should all at the beginning of making our characters in Animal Crossing decide on professions we want to do. This was an idea I fleshed out with my friend and I think it’s a good one. I mostly give credit to my friend for this idea. So instead of being the just the mayor, we can decide in the beginning to be things like a barrister, a shop owner or help run a shop and eventually run our own, a home designer, a hotel manager, fashion designer, and maybe even a cook. The cooking thing has been brought up by people in the community and I don’t think that’s a bad idea. Possibly even a farmer because people have brought that up too.
It would give more variety and more things to do in Animal Crossing to want us to keep playing. Also if you are in a friends town and maybe your friend can help persuade the animals to design their houses in a certain way. Or the fashion designers can help persuade them to wear certain clothes. I think it would be a fun thing to do for online activity. Which brings me to my second point.
Online Activity
Make being online not only easier but open us up to more villages we can go to. Don’t make just harder for us to see villages around where we live or even around the world. Make it so that instead of just visiting different places in our dreams we can actually talk to people in town while they're online if they are. While there no one can shake your trees or if they run on your grass it doesn’t get destroyed.
Villagers
RATS, BATS, AND REPTILES please and thank you for new villagers.
More dialogue and bring back mean text from the original games. I want to be told my house is as ugly as a dung beetle. Or my shirt reminds them of puke.
Villagers can work jobs with you.
Storage
Easier storage options and more of them. I’d like five storage options that are separate one you can keep fruit and flowers in,  next one you can keep clothes and furniture in, 3rd where you keep things like your shovel, net, etc, 4th keep fish and fossils in, and the last one, the 5th, would be a bells purse. It would look like a coin purse.
SO HELP ME SULLEY YOU PUT THOSE PATHS-
If you excuse my Monster Inc rambling we need a better way of putting down paths. A simpler and more efficient way of doing it so that we can put multiple tiles down at a time and set them up in certain directions.
You are the law when it comes to where villagers houses go too
No more villagers putting houses down in unsightly areas, ruining your gardens, taking your fruit trees, and last but certainly the most irritating for most, ruining your paths. You decide where the house goes because it will be apart of Isabelle’s job now to deiced where houses go and she’ll always ask for your help.
More Clothes and Furniture Options
I’m more excited for more furniture options and would honestly want that more. Because we have the QR system where we can scan or make our own clothes and I don’t think they’ll be taking that away.
Let us hang things from the ceiling like in happy home designer!
Fairy lights, so many fairy lights.
Shelving options. Also if someone saw this from Nintendo somehow I’d love for the little nicknack shelf that showed up in Happy Home Designer to be in the Switch.
New varieties of flowers, fish, fruit, bushes, and bugs.
Keep the old ones but please add someone news.
I’d like some variety in berry bushes.
Bring Back Events
Bring back events like the sports day and make up some new ones.
An Arcade
Bring back the games you could play and the new game that was added to New Leaf and maybe some others. Maybe it could be on Toritmers Island so you can play the games he has there too.
That’s all I can think of right now let me know your ideas! I love talking about Animal Crossing with other people.
TOY STORY 4
I’m fresh out of the cinema (okay no i’m not i went home and showered and had time to think but shut up), and my mind is kind of all over the place rn so I’m gonna do a stream of conscious ramble about how I felt (not exactly a review bc again, my mind is so all over the place I can’t really view the film in a super critical lens just yet, I’ll have to see it again)
I’m not gonna spoil anything/go too indepth but you may be able to guess plot things from what I’m talking about.
I don’t feel like anyone’s gonna read all this shit, but uh. yeah.
i got. feelings ok.
OKAY SO FIRST OFF I was soooOOOO excited for this movie because the Toy Story films are among my favorites in all of animation, they hold a really special place in my heart (the first one especially - it’s been one of my favorite movies since I was a toddler, hell it even came out a week and a half before I was born). And I knew and understood that all the early criticisms/apprehensions people had about this film beforehand were valid - like how it was an unnecessary addition to a perfect ending and how it seemed to repeat some of the exact same story elements from the first three movies - but that didn’t bother me quite as much because…well, I love these movies too much that I’d watch the same story beats over and over again because the characters themselves and the themes are so enjoyable, plus the elements repeated (lost toys, the idea of what it means to be a toy and loyal to a kid) are unique enough to the franchise’s premise that I don’t really mind exploring it more than once. That’s just me though. I’m easy to please when I want to be, but also critical when I want to be.
ANYWAY that out of the way, there was SOOOOO much good stuff in this movie - the animation was great as expected (but tbh at this point not much impresses me in regards to mainstream 3D animation except the odd spiderverse, so the animation was just kinda. great, and nothing else, if that makes sense haha). The acting was great, especially in regards to the new characters, cos the usual cast didn’t have much to do this time around..
The humor was spot on, I laughed SO much. I know people worry about these movies going stale, but as long as the creativity and humor keep going strong I don’t care. I fuckin loved the jokes. Keanu and Key and Peele were great hahaha.
And of course, being a Toy Story film, not only did i laugh but i fuckin cried so bad. I cried at little points throughout the film, but I was a fucking WRECK at the ending. I have no idea if the ending is gonna affect other people as much as it affected me, I’ll find out once the movie’s been out for a bit, but I know I’m not the only one who feels such a closeness to these movies. Like, guys, it hurt me. Really fucking bad. At the time I didn’t think I’d come to terms with it (and YES I KNOW IT’S JUST A MOVIE BUT STILL) but during the car ride home I started to appreciate it more. Oh, it’s still gonna make me cry to think about, and even tho i’m obviously gonna see it again i’m DREADING seeing that again, but I understand it, and I appreciate it.
The ending got me thinking about a lot of things in terms of storytelling, especially what makes Pixar films so effective. This post expresses it really well. Anyone who knows even the basics of writing/literature knows that a character’s “wants” are what drive a good story. But something I think Pixar understands better than anyone is that the what the audience wants makes for an effective ending. Because the more memorable Pixar endings aren’t 100% what you may want to happen as a viewer, but they needed to happen, and you remember them as a result. You didn’t want to see Mike and Sulley expelled, but you wouldn’t be satisfied if they got kicked out of college and then Hardscrabble’s final talk with them was to them right back in. With TS3, all the toys want is to get back home to Andy and stay with him, for the duration of the movie that’s all the AUDIENCE wants - but when it comes to the ending and they almost accept a future in the attic, you realize it’s not the right choice, even if the goodbye scene is a tearjerker to watch. Neither the characters nor the audience get exactly what they want, but the characters get what they need, and in turn the audience get an ending that leaves a lasting impression.
(tbh i’d love to make an analytical essay/storytelling guide on that topic, but that’s for another day this is long enough sdfjhgjsd)
ANYWAY THIS IS LONG AS SHIT SO TL;DR I LOVED THE MOVIE THE ENDING HURT ME BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT GO SEE IT GOODNIGHT ALL
My thoughts on Kingdom Hearts 3 that nobody probably cares about.
Because I wanted to. And I was kinda tired of seeing reviews online that were giving it crap just for the sake of giving it crap. (Of course not every review.) And I wanted to look at it with a more positive note. I did mean to do this a while back but I kinda... forgot? I did beat the game during the first three days of it’s release.
Tldr version: Is it a perfect game? No, it does have it’s flaws. Did I still enjoy myself playing it? Heck yes.
The rest is under the cut for spoilers. I’ll try to be brief on every subject so this wouldn’t be super long.
So I am a big kh fan, as you might guess. I grew up with it and because of the game series I’ve had the chance to meet people who have become very important to me. So this game, it does mean a lot to me.
First of all: Game mechanics.
I really liked the combat system. It felt really natural and had a good flow in general. I loved the keyblade transformations. The attractions were really pretty,  although I didn’t use them often. But I admit there were some that I really hated. The water one and the blaster one. But as soon as I realised that I could skip them out of the way of a keyblade transformation they were all good with me. I mainly just used them on enemies that were really annoying to me. *cough Gigas cough.* I did enjoy most of the minigames as well, even if the some of the flans were the bane of my existance.
The difficulty of the game was a bit odd. It was.. rather easy. Granted, I did play it on standard mode because a: I wanted to have a more relaxing experience for the first go and b: to get through the game as quick as possible to avoid spoilers. But now that critical mode is here, oh boy. On standard I never saw the death screen. But on critical, I saw it three times during the first 5 minutes.
2. The worlds
The worlds were absolutely beautiful. If I would have to say what my favourite one was and which was my least favourite, favourite would be Corona. It was just so beautiful and while it did follow the movie, it was still very sweet to see them interact with one another. Least favourite was probably Monsters INC. It’s just my personal preference, but I wasn’t that fond of the whole world just being one big factory. (That I may have gotten lost in multiple times.) But, what saved that world was Vanitas getting owned by Sulley and Mike. And the fact that it was set after the movie.
For the plots of the other worlds, BH6 sorta happened really fast for me. Though I did love how Sora interacted with the group and how the got inspiration from him to become stronger. Caribbean plot just sorta... happened while I wasn’t there? But it made up for it by the setting and Jack defeating Luxord with a breath. And seeing Sora starting to beat up Davy Jones when Will was dying broke my heart. Olympos was really sweet for me to see the interactions between Hercules and the gang. I just loved their friendship. Even if the glorious Phil never got to say a word. Toy Box was good, even if I hated Gigas. But the pain from them was mended by Woody basically saying what sounded like “Well I guess you were never loved as a child!” to Xehanort. Arendelle was plotwise a bit... meh. I didn’t dislike it but... I just climbed up the same mountain like three times.  There’s not much to say about Twilight Town other than the fact that it was really pretty and I loved that it was so full of life. I Although I do hope that it would have been bigger. I was a bit sad that Radiant Garden wasn’t a world that we could visit.
Keyblade Graveyard doesn’t really count as a world as much, it’s just more of a battlegorund. Bonus favourite world: Scala Ad Caelum. I loved the look of that place so much, and the music was breathtaking. I just wish that they will do more with it in the future. Like a multiplayer dlc where you get to do missions in the whole city. Please Nomura. Please. Another bonus favourite world: The Final World. I loved the whole aesthetic of it, being absolutely beautiful. Plotwise I was at first a bit confused about the whole thing that happened there but I think I do now understand what was going on. (And the whole scenario that happened aroud it. And the whole going back in time.) I loved the individual stories they had given to each star. Plus the Lich was an interesting concept.
3. The Plot
So. The plot. I would be lying if I said I had no problems with it. It did make me cry out of happiness a lot of times and I generally loved it. But there were some problems. I suppose it would be the best to say perhaps the biggest annoyance I had with it.
Kairi. Not Kairi the character herself, but more of what happened to her. It did annoy me a lot more before, but as time has passed I have accepted it more. I was dissapointed at how she basically became a plot conveniance for Sora to do certain things. Now that I think about it I am more okay with it. Kairi was never really a fighter. Her strenght comes more about guiding people into the light as she did in kh1 with heartless Sora, in kh2 her meeting with Roxas (although debatable in that one) and now in kh3 she was the one who kept Sora from fully fading away. Even with all that, I don’t think it’s wrong of me to say that I wished for more. I hope that in the future they would be able to use her more than just as a plot device.
The other thing that annoyed me in the plot was the points which were clearly there just to set up the next game. But I think I can forgive those as long as kh4 doesn’t take as long to make as kh3 did. There were some points that just opened up more questions than answers but I’d still say I do have a pretty good understanding of the whole KH plot.
The thing that I didn’t expect to happen was for me to like the villains as much as I did. For example, I never really thought much about Luxord before, but he really grew on me on this game. The same goes for the rest of the organisation as well. Those who I didn’t care for before or didn’t like that much, their final moments or their atonement really made me see them differently. And knowing about Marluxia’s past through khux and his connection to Strelitzia, I really did feel bad for him. Talking about Strelitzia, I do believe that star was her. Although her voice was a lot older sounding than I thought it would be.
I was so happy saving all the trios and I was teary eyed a lot. And the ending just made me so happy. Until the point that Sora disappeared. I was annoyed at why did that happen a bit, but the (I think) relatively recent statement from Nomura which referenced Sora’s abuse of the power of waking and it’s consequenses has helped me understand it more. As long as I don’t have to wait like ten years to save my cinnamon child I’m good. And I do admit, the Xigbar reveal did catch me off guard and does make me exited for the continuation of khux and the following games. Although I do wonder how confused the people who have never played khux were about it
A quick note about the music: The soundtrack was beautiful. As expected of Shimomura Yoko. I did hope for a few more new original tracks for the final bosses, but to be fair it was also very satisfying to hear new renditions of the characters themes from the previous games to fully give closure to those characters and their arcs.
Overall, kh3 wasn’t a perfect game and I did have my problems with it, but I really did have a good time playing it.
