There are times in Hades' life where something reminds him of something from his past life, like pottery reminds him of Nomura. And then, there are times where Hades will randomly something without cause. In this instant, he's reminded of Nomura when looking at an old, clay pot and calls Jim Young Atlas without knowing who Atlas is. Let's just say Jim is surprised to hear Hades ccall him that. Jim does explain to Hades why he called him that, as Mira explained to the group when they first dicovered she was hiding him that she never lied to Hades about his past life when they first met and she always explained his fractured memories to him. In the end, some explanations and memories make Hades spiral and need comfort.

Sean Murray did the illustrations and cover for the OG Trollhunters book and a ways back he uploaded a bunch of them to artstation. One that wasn't in that batch is the Steve and Toby image below which found elsewhere a bit back which is why it's a bit on the small side:

Now what's particularly neat in this case is for the Brazilian release of the book, Toby's shirt was changed to match the language!

A minor touch perhaps but still incredibly neat all the same.

Let’s generate some hype!

Coming in is another Troll Jim suggestion that I’ve chosen to break up into two parts

Suggested by @daydream358 comes an uncorrupted and younger-looking Beast Jim now aptly dubbed “Big Jim”

Here we have two outfit choices being some casual clothing for our bridge between the human and troll worlds

Some design choices I considered here:

1. Changing Jim’s shape, deciding to give him a larger upper body and longer and more slender legs to keep his lovable “skinny legs” look even as a half-troll

In terms of size comparison, he falls between the size of Blinky and Draal

2. Markings reminiscent of Blinky and Draal’s

3. Jim wearing a kilt and wraps that match Draal’s

Part two of this image is in the works depicting our large boy in a friendly spar with AAARRRGGHH!!!

Filsol the Stargazer

“The troll who stared at the Sun”

Adoptive father of Gunmar

Husband of Kára-Tak, goes by "Fil" for short.

The title "Stargazer" is from his field of profession, he is sorta like an astronomer and studies the star map.

Durable but fairly nimble build, he stands at about 8'5 ft at the highest part of his horns, shorter than his wife.

Has an armored and spiky back with a more softer and vulnerable underside. His forearms also possess the same protective armor that he uses to shield the soft underbelly if necessary.

Immersive and studious, Filsol is intelligent and calm, with a friendly demeanor. He can be sensitive and might take time to get used to things.

Some things about Filsol:

Fil has been able to see the Sun via special equipment (the same stuff Bodus' spectacles was made from).

He's about the same age as Kára, about 25 in human years.

Lives in Central Europe.

He helps groom his wife's mane, and often does so when laying in a "cuddle puddle" with her.

He's a bit jealous of Kára's fur, since he’s a troll that doesn't have hair (but he would never say or admit it out loud).

He's left handed. And like his wife, he has a small scar/dent on his side from a previous attempt to create a birthstone, but instead of having it on his left side like Kára, he has it on the right side, because it's the opposite side of his dominant hand.

His tail is quite heavy and drags on the ground most of the time.

Underside of the neck has small spikes and it can flare up a little, sorta like a bearded dragon's.

His design was inspired by many types of different reptiles, such as; bearded dragon, thorny devil, alligator snapping turtle, sulcata tortoise, crocodilia and the extinct borealopelta markmitchelli.

His skin is based off of citrine

Adding more to this because of a recent convo I had in discord, but yeah-

I fully believe that Gunmar got really into Epic: the Musical at some point. But only the parts where Odysseus is absolutely SUFFERING-

Any song where Ody gets any sort of gain or benefit is a full no-go for Gunmar, but play “Polyphemus,” “Ruthlessness,” and ofc, “Thunderbringer,” he is singing along and full on vibing.

Why can I imagine Gunmar unironically singing Thunderbringer to himself??
