It really makes me so damn angry how many autistic/ADHD people treat the neurodivergent label as the autism+adhd label. Neurodivergent includes ANYONE who's brain doesn't work the way it's supposed to. This includes people that have learning disabilities. People with down's syndrome. People with cluster A, B and C disorders. That includes systems/people with DID, that includes schizophrenics, that includes people with PTSD. If you have a group that is labeled for neurodivergent people, you cannot act surprised or offended if people that don't have autism or ADHD but DO have other disorders join that group. Because neurodivergent is an umbrella term. And everyone under that umbrella term deserves to be able to find community in groups named with that umbrella term.
#i made this post in honor of my boyfriend#he had joined a neurodivergent group#and got kicked out when group members found out his diagnoses were ASPD NPD and schizophrenia#like damn he deserves a community too#neurodivergent#neurodiversity#autism#autistic#adhd#downs syndrome#learning disability#schizophrenia#did#dissociative identity disorder#ptsd#complex ptsd#ppd#paranoid personality disorder#schizoid personality disorder#schizotypal personality disorder#aspd#antisocial personality disorder#npd#narcissistic personality disorder#hpd#histrionic personality disorder#bpd#borderline personality disorder#avoidant personality disorder#dependent personality disorder

laws should be written by simple language.
scientific books should be written by simple language.
studies should be written by simple language.
rules & regulations should be written by simple language.
every information, especially important one, should be written by simple language.
it's basic accessibility. people with intellectual disability, people with developmental disabilities, people with learning disabilities, people with language processing issues/language impairment, people with brain fog/low concentration, and people with other conditions that make comprehension difficult should have access to every information, especially important one.
i'm autistic and have some language processing issues. so i feel very isolated when i can't read studies, articles, books, and other info. i'm really interested in it, but can't process language. so i have to rely on others' interpretations instead of original text.
i wanna have access to first-hand information. i wanna have the opportunity to form my own opinion, not rely on others' explanations.
btw, "simple language" doesn't mean "avoid complicated ideas & nuances", it means "explain complicated ideas & nuances using mostly simple words and short sentences".

Story Idea
Telekinetic supervillain who REALLY loves historical architecture. Living in a superhero universe where heroes keep crashing through stained glass windows and leveling entire streets. As well as the normal corruption causing building to be demolished or ârestoredâ in extremely destructive ways.
Kinda has Poison Ivy vibes, without any of the femme fatale trappings - her entire focus is preserving historical valuable buildings, and she doesnât really care if humans that get in the way die. But she also isnât going out of her way to kill people.
And the leader of the local superhero team can see where sheâs coming from. And decides that just throwing her in jail every time she acts up is a sign theyâre failing in their duty to protect the city. Instead, he starts trying to gain her trust. He doesnât care that much about buildings, but he works on lessening his teamâs collateral damage. He promises the supervillain that heâll try to pressure the city government if she brings problems to him rather than taking them into her own hands. Eventually, he convinces her that she can protect the cityâs infrastructure better by being on his team than she can on her own.
Sheâs incredibly helpful! She will keep burning buildings from collapsing until everyone can get out and the fire is extinguished. Sheâll hold skyscrapers up while supervillains reign destruction down around them. Sheâll deconstruct traps and grumpily direct her teammates towards the hidden mastermind who set them up. And when the crisis is over, sheâll see what can be salvaged and rebuild it if possible.
But sheâs a PR nightmare.
Former Supervillain refuses to help people. She DOES NOT care. Your kid is trapped in the burning building? That is not her problem. Go bother someone else. Dude is holding a bunch of people hostage? Itâs fine, heâs not causing any damage to the building heâs in.
People DO NOT like this attitude. People do not accept that sheâs part of a team, and other heroes are capable of filling the âempathyâ and âhuman rescuingâ gaps.
And sheâs high maintenance! The team frequently end up in situations where protecting lives is in conflict with protecting property. They take missions that mean very little to them, because theyâre important to her. And the leader is constantly having to talk her out of rampages, pressuring the government to drop lucrative and unethical contracts, and making sure sheâs sticking to the plan in the field. And she isnât interested in interpersonal relationships or social niceties, so none of them are even doing this out of friendship!
-
Sometimes, you help someone not because theyâll be grateful, but because it will make your community better. Sometimes, you help the local drug addict not because heâs likely to turn his life around, but because he smashes less windows when he has a warm, quiet space to stay. And sometimes, keeping that community benefit takes a long term commitment.
I want to see a superhero team turn a villain as harm prevention and then willingly bear the cost of keeping that villain from causing harm. Not because itâs rewarding (though there are rewards) but because itâs more effective than any other method. And I want the villain to go along with it because the heroes actually found a more efficient way for her to reach her goals.
And it being messy for everyone, but I want them to make it work. And it to be worth it, in the end.

A reminder that Glinda having either dyslexia/dysgraphia or a learning disability is canon in the Movieverse.

This is the same paper that we see her get back in this scene, in which we can see this was a large essay too.

There's nothing rushed to her handwriting, this was not an essay done at the last minute, and still, it shows several signs of a learning disability and/or dysgraphia.
Misspells her name in the second line
Wrong and inconsistent pronoun usage
Her margin spacing is consistent with someone who can't do proper syllable division
Immature transcription (see: writes her "um"s)
Limited vocabulary
Shows signs of: difficulty expressing ideas in writing, having a limited vocabulary, mispronouncing words or using a wrong word that sounds similar, and having trouble organizing what she wants to say. Those are all symptoms of a learning disability.
Less of a checklist sign, but her handwriting is very round and careful, while still not being consistently sized (see unfashionable). This and the margin sizes are very common in kids with bad dysgraphia who are made to take rigorous calligraphy courses to "fix the problem". Courses that work on the visual without remedying its underlying issues and causes. Form over content if you will.
Looking at this very blatant sign that she has a learning disability and immediately defaulting to calling her names (yes calling her stupid and saying Elphaba is a moronsexual for this counts), asking how she got into Shiz, or defending Dillamond in doing the very first thing teachers are told NOT to do with disabled students (re: calling attention to it in front of the entire class) is ableist!
#i got psychic damage seeing the replies to this pic by the wicked twitter page#and i'm making it everyone else's problem#Glinda was visibly struggling with even the concept of that class and a teacher's job is to provide guidance and support not judgement#learning disability#galinda upland#glinda upland#my beautiful princess with a disorder#there's so much to the read of neurodivergent glinda in this movie#one day i will do a full one on the autism TM#and on the basis for NPD glinda#wicked#Glinda is one of the most fascinating characters i've ever seen#she's my baby#i will defend her with my life

A lot of people think my autism is âgetting betterâ but I think a lot of it has to do with being an adult and being able to make my own decisions. I used to have frequent meltdowns and shutdowns and on the outside seemed more âobviouslyâ autistic. But Iâm 19 now, so I have a lot more say in my life. I only buy one brand of socks. I only own 2 types of shoes. All of my clothes are the exact same. I only eat what *I* want to eat and think feels safe. I can drive and can choose when to leave for appointments and obligations. If I were still a child and forced to wear socks with seams in the toes or clothes that fit me wrong or foods that trigger my sensory issues or have my routine thrown off by other people, I would have A LOT more issues. But since Iâm an adult, I have control over most aspects of my life. Iâm not âless autisticâ now, I just have more free will and know myself well enough to avoid triggers.
#autism is a neurodevelopmental condition#youâre born with it#it canât âget betterâ#BUT!!!!!!#and this is a huge but#you CAN learn ways to deal with it better!!!!#you can learn how to cope#and how to work with autism instead of fighting it#let me tell you. if someone forced me to eat peas right nowâŚ.. I would scream and cry and throw up from a sensory issues meltdown#but Iâm an adult so I just. donât buy or use peas.#and my mom knows me well enough that if she makes a dinner with peas#she just pulls a portion out for me before adding the peas#actually autistic#actually autism#autism#autistic#neurodivergent

Neurodiversity
Neurodivergence refers to variations in neurological functioning that diverge from what is considered typical or "neurotypical." While there is no single, universally agreed-upon list, neurodivergent disorders generally include conditions that affect cognition, behavior, perception, or social functioning.
1. Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) (controversial as a separate diagnosis)
Aspergerâs Syndrome (outdated term, now part of ASD)
2. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD (Predominantly Inattentive Type)
ADHD (Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Type)
ADHD (Combined Type)
3. Learning Disabilities & Processing Disorders
Dyslexia (difficulty with reading and language processing)
Dyscalculia (difficulty with math and numerical processing)
Dysgraphia (difficulty with writing and fine motor skills)
Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)
Visual Processing Disorder (VPD)
Nonverbal Learning Disability (NVLD)
4. Intellectual Disabilities
Global Developmental Delay
Down Syndrome
Fragile X Syndrome
Williams Syndrome
Prader-Willi Syndrome
5. Communication Disorders
Social (Pragmatic) Communication Disorder
Speech Sound Disorder
Childhood Apraxia of Speech
Selective Mutism
6. Tic Disorders
Tourette Syndrome
Chronic Motor or Vocal Tic Disorder
Provisional Tic Disorder
7. Mental Health Conditions Often Considered Neurodivergent
Schizophrenia Spectrum & Other Psychotic Disorders
Schizophrenia
Schizoaffective Disorder
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
Delusional Disorder
Mood Disorders with Neurological Features
Bipolar Disorder
Major Depressive Disorder (long-term cases cause atrophy in brain regions like the hippocampus)
Dysthymia (Persistent Depressive Disorder)
Anxiety & Related Conditions
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) (sometimes considered)
Panic Disorder (sometimes considered)
Trauma-Related Disorders (sometimes included)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (when it significantly alters cognition and sensory processing)
Complex PTSD (CPTSD)
Dissociative Disorders
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder
Personality Disorders (Not all PDs)
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD)
Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
Schizotypal Personality Disorder (StPD)
8. Sensory Processing Differences
Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) (not formally recognized in DSM-5 but widely acknowledged in neurodivergent communities)
9. Epilepsy & Neurological Conditions (sometimes considered)
Epilepsy
Migraines with Aura
Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE)
10. Other Conditions Sometimes Considered Neurodivergent
Hyperlexia (advanced reading ability with comprehension difficulties)
Synesthesia (cross-wiring of sensory experiences)
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) (due to high comorbidity with neurodivergence)
Autoimmune Encephalitis (when it affects cognitive function)
Neurodivergence is a broad and evolving concept, with some conditions more widely accepted as neurodivergent than others. The core idea is that neurodivergent individuals experience the world in ways that differ from neurotypical standards, often due to innate neurological differences.

am i too woke or is mocking people that can't spell, don't understand jokes and in general are just Slow At Processing Things ableist as fuck and something that needs to quit asap.
its something that i genuinely get so fucking mad at.
i straight up saw someone ask if something was real and obviously thought said topic was real (when it was a reference to something, i'm assuming.), and someone responding, saying, "imagine not knowing what this is" and the other person was like "im not a science person idk this stuff, what is it?" and then the other person proceeded to mock them. like can we quit this???? please????
"haha you can't even spell [xyz] right " i hope your ceiling fan falls on you.
"Imagine not getting the joke " im gonna fucking kill you patrick bateman style.
can we stop making people lesser???? just because they dont understand things???? please???
ive genuinely seen people get made fun of and get talked down too because they misspell something???????
can we stop bullying people because they dont get a joke????
can someone articulate this in a smarter, better, way??? genuinely. i can't express what/how i want.
im genuinely so fucking upset. fuck!!

I HATE tiktok and the Internet in general rn for the obsession with "oh this person's smellyyy" "Brother it STINKS over here" "BOO đ§đ§źđ§˝đż" and stuff like that. I wish I could put into words how demeaning and patronising that whole idea is and people implying anyone they don't like doesn't wash.
For one there's something grating about being insulted in a manner like we're in nursery again. But also WHY is that the go to insult. Why do you associate these things? Especially to those you deem "chronically online". Like I don't want to sound pathetic but it feels so nasty to me.
is it extreme to say this feels tied to ableism? And classism too?
#âtake a showerâ me sitting here with depression and no will to even move rn. That doesnt make me feel worse or anything#dry to wet change is also evil. and i get decision paralysis a lot and just struggle to motivate myself to do basic human tasks#and thats just me#what about the people with physical disabilities that struggle to find the energy and strength to do these things#And also like environmental factors too?#like kids can be unhygienic cause they arent being cared for and learning properly#people with learning disabilities and neurodiversity too may struggle with not being taught properly as its a âbasic thing everyone knowsâ#people are homeless karen.#people cant afford to wash regularly#people grow up or are forced to live in unhygienic places and surrounded by smokers and alcoholics#people who are smokers and alcoholics and generally people with addiction can smell#people with health issues that cause them to sweat more#Like the list goes on#but idk maybe I'm just sensitive#anti anti#profiction#proship#neurodivergent#cringe culture#ableism#classism

What a lot of people don't understand about navigating the "real world" as a neurodivergent person is that we were told all the rules of society growing up that we naturally followed, only to find out later just how often neurotypical people are either breaking those rules or operating off completely unwritten ones to get themselves ahead and that somehow ND's are the "dumbasses" for not realizing that these unwritten rules and rule-breaking is the "norm" despite that norm going against all the rules and values that were drilled into us from birth that we were expected and predisposed to follow.
#just two cents from a neurodivergent trying to live in a neurotypical's world#it's been a harrowing experience learning just how much i was taught to navigate the real world isn't done in practice at ALL#the majority of hollywood is built on nepotism#many successful âgurusâ within their respective industries are complete shams who either failed upwards or broke the ârulesâ to get there#many of these industries are simply built on socializing and knowing people rather than actual skill or capabilities#it's like the adult equivalent of âlmao you really BELIEVED that lie i just told you that you took in good faith??? you're so gullible!!!â
