Kremy was actually a bit terrified of telling Gideon he's gay. He didn't have, like, the best experience with coming out to people. Especially back when he was still in school, teenagers can be mean. So for the first year or so of their friendship, he just remained in the closet.

But then Gideon was worried that Kremy was sad about not getting any attention from women so he tried to wingman him. A lot. Every town. Instead of just picking up women for himself he was sending them Kremy's way.

Kremy wanted to die in a hole, the amount of embarrassing conversations with women like "oh it's not you, I'm just not looking for that right now" "ohh that's so nice of you but I had some other plans" "ohhhhh...noo...thank yooou.." was driving him fucking crazy. It was driving Gideon crazy. I mean Kremy must have a really specific type.

Finally Kremy just had enough, and evidently a lot to drink so he would hopefully not remember anything hurtful, and he sat Gideon down and told him that he very much was not into women.

Gideon, also an appreciator of men, then offered to find Kremy a nice man to sleep with instead.

A very stressed, flustered, and firm "NO." Led to the end of that whole situation.

gortash sets up a lending library at his estate after seeing durge’s in the bhaal temple. they both know they’re the only people who use them so it turns into a sort of game. durge loves music, so after enver’s last visit a book about viola has appeared in the temple library. enver fancy’s himself a jeweler so it’s only natural a scroll about gem welding would end up in his library. books relating to their schemes, hobbies, pasts, futures, inside jokes and aspirations get passed back in forth. the only extended pause is when a novel about star crossed lovers gets dropped in the bhaal library. it’s weeks before the favor is returned and enver receives a scroll about bhaalist marriage ceremonies. he doesn’t know whether to take it as an advance or a threat, so he accepts it as both.

musing about what a translation of the silt verses would sound like and immediately running headfirst into the problem of whether and how to translate 'Sister Carpenter'

And thus, with the passing of 24 hours, Caeru's ambition truly comes to an end. Major Nemesis spoilers below the cut- we're talking endgame ambition business here. Mostly on a character RP front.

The Doomed Scientist made quite a few... choice decisions, in the end. Killing Cups once and for all, recording his story as one of grief-

And sparing what little remained of Mr Mirrors, leaving it free to roam Parabola as it sees fit.

Some of them, he can explain. Others, he's still left to feel... discontent.

Cups needed to die. That much was certain from the start. It was a tyrant, as all Masters are, and complicit in the bargaining and eventual destruction of four (potentially five) cities, as all Masters are. It was an obstacle. A murderer. A petty monster that felt no remorse even on its deathbed, and it went out of its way to ruin multiple lives just because it felt owed its own sick and twisted idea of revenge.

It killed his first love. It looked him in the eyes and he knew what it had done and he knew from the start it was going to die.

Perhaps, in the end, it knew too. And yet it still pleaded, and wanted to live, and-

It made a bargain.

A bargain Caeru didn't take.

Not because he didn't want to. Gods, he wanted to. He wanted it. He wanted it more than anything else in the world. To have Greylu back, to give him the gift of life, of love, to show him the wonders of the Neath and the beauty of the correspondence and all of the people Caeru has met and loved and found home with along the way-

But. He couldn't.

Because Cups was a monster. And no matter what, it deserved to die. And he could not, in good conscience, allow it to live.

Even if sparing it meant everything he's ever wanted.

So he's left here, now. With a bloodied traveling coat, and a bloodsoaked knife, and a favor finally fulfilled.

And nothing to live for. No resurrected lover, no charming visits to Helicon, no slow dances in the living room, no memories to rebuild and lives to live and he won't live again-

Nothing. All he has is a coat born of obligation, not to his love, but to people he's never even met. To lives he's never even touched. To a paramour, still alive, with hair of rose-pink, who doesn't even remember her own brother's existence.

Cups didn't die for Caeru's sake. Cups died for the sake of all who wanted it dead. For the revenger's court, and the ghost screaming in his ear, and the reckoning that will not be postponed indefinitely.

And Caeru, who acted as a tool to carry out their wills? Who all but betrayed his own lover, just to satisfy a cause he never knew existed?

All Caeru is left with, is regret. Regret-

-And grief.

I enjoy shipping, but I cannot see the appeal in watching shows only for the purpose of shipping; I think it closes you off to so much. I think coming into a work with the expectation that it will only succeed if a particular configuration of people end up happily in a relationship with each other when the curtain closes means you will reject so many unexpected choices altogether. It destroys your ability to appreciate the entire concept of tragedy. Just, imagine refusing to let yourself enjoy "I'm not a gardener" because you are too furious that a different kiss than the one you wanted happened to feel other emotions.

I actually got a bunch of ideas for the monopoly one so I feel the need to expand on it: Rudy takes the role of banker out of necessity, as no one else wants it, not even Queen, who can do all the necessary math in less than a second. Spade tries to cheat at multiple points in time but Rudy and Toriel keep catching him, Asgore is none the wiser. Because of this, Asgore is the first out of the game due to bankruptcy. While Queen's busy laughing at him, she ends up getting ousted from the game too, betrayed by her fellow queen Toriel. Rudy is just playing to survive while Toriel and Spade are at each others throats. Neither of them are letting up. Spade's been in jail more times than he can count but somehow it's not slowing him down. Toriel is beyond pissed. Insults start getting thrown, mostly by Spade. Queen and Asgore get caught in the crossfire. Rudy's the only one still staying at least Somewhat lighthearted with all of this. Then Toriel and Spade start screaming at each other:

truly not sorry but once again thinking abt miranda/mc/mia in RL. i need them SO bad. like, 2 of the most morally unsound persons (Mia & Miranda) + their little meow meow. Knowing both are so possessive and destructive (TO OTHERS) when they love and instead of running, fully embracing the chaos of it. i have a proposed revision for the pc port

#this is so shoddily edited because i was scrapping it together for a joke while half-asleep. put those guys in the elysium #but that said... i do genuinely think this could've had #the best chance at recreating the effect they were seeking from the ds; to keep monologue on-screen + allude to future twists thru color #for which i must add #999 spoilers #anyway. ace has the outline/examination cursor color junpei is using bc he had originally created the 'game'#the grey monologue would probably be a bit muted but still lean toward a purple/blue for akane #which would realistically be more apt for longer descriptions; with junpei's personal thoughts maybe having a slight indent #or even being associated w his name as is; like the options implicitly are in color (darker red)#it's not a traditional visual novel format of course; but it'd still work well...! to me...!!!#alas. i haven't practiced modding of this scale. maybe one day...#jestersvaguely #ze posting

Anne instructed her other preachers to include in their sermons 'continual and earnest petitions for the stay of the same.'

I like this happiness can be found in any world speech putting the focus on the fact that being able to compare between a hypothetical less tragic version of events is in itself what causes unhappiness and dissatisfaction sure for the characters it's literal timeloops but real things like anxiety and ptsd often trick you into losing focus of the good things in the now and to lose yourself in the what could have been

#higurashi #to relate it back to ze it all depends on the framing #ze as a series does genuinely go against this idea it wants itself to feel like a saving the world plot #and akane never stops being the morphogenetic fields favorite suffering soldier #but higurashi has much more personal stakes and invites the reader to feel for each individual character and how everything affects them #the story puts effort into highlighting the different perspectives throughout each loop while ze embraces being reduced to a logic puzzle #you've been in this timeline and witnessed this event therefore you unlock the next reveal and you understand rule x so next ending you'll #be able to apply it to rule y and get a new outcome and sure it flirts with the concept but it's mostly entirely up to us to think through #the implications of this trolley scenario and I mean have you seen any fics taking place after ztd's bad endings? I barely have #the game does not really want you to think about it even though it alludes to a moral conundrum at the end #vlr does invite that but only in the non canon epilogue which is only non canon because we're still supposed to cheer akane phi and sigma on #as they fight to save the world. and I hate saving the world plots shoehorned into this kind of story #and higurashi deconstructs that notion after already putting in a ton of work to make us care for every individual and how the story #continues after the looper stopped witnessing it it runs us through the rationalizations involved in being trapped like that #and what it takes to break the cycle and for one to accept that they too have a right to live in happiness regardless of how fucked up #things have made them feel they don't lose that right to redemption because tragedy happened to stain the paths they walked #Youtube
