Absolutely obsessed with the way Luis is playing Eliseo in Tales Unrolled, it's like,,,
POV you are the only guy in the time loop who remembers. You are frustrated not just because you keep losing your friends and they keep forgetting you but also because you keep having to watch them grow closer and closer without you, not knowing you should be there too. One of your group is just Gone. You remember all the times they've died, all the times they've killed each other, all the times they've turned on you, not believing what you tell them. You're standing over your own dead body (they killed you), knowing that soon it will reset and you'll be alright but you'll have to lose them again. This is not for the first time and not for the last. You deliver all your plot exposition while on the point of tears
You know?

Now that we know what became of Eliseo I was revisiting an old post of mine about it, and it reminded me that the group heard Eliseo throughout the first iteration of that day. Leo heard him at the edge of the forest teasing her about being late, something which Eliseo admits to doing in the loops he remembers. The group heard him theorizing with them about the cadejos.
What makes this really interesting is how Eliseo describes his experience of time looping. He experiences it as reality ripping and drawing the player characters back towards Alma, and whatever forces pulls them also tries to pull him back but he keeps getting snapped back to where he died in the ruins. Which is likely the result of that place being so cursed that neither divine nor primordial magic can reach it from the outside; whatever is pulling the PCs back in time and towards Alma can't properly anchor into Eliseo since he died in such a desecrated place.
But, given echoes of him and their memories with him occurred to the PCs (particularly Leo - which tracks since she was the closest with him before all this) the magic does appear to be pulling something of Eliseo back. Not his whole person but just enough of an echo that he stays with the group. Despite his own very genuine distress at watching the group grow closer without him and knowing that the experiences that bonded them together were ones that they also did -should- share with him, the group did still have at least something of Eliseo with them the whole time; he started this with them, and they've carried him with them since.

i love reading sad books bc when your own grief is stopped up inside you like a clogged drain you can grieve for a character on a page and understand that you're also grieving for yourself a little bit

For tm9 series who do you think is best suited for the role Vax has in tlovm as the touchstone overarching plot character? Or does the m9 not need/have one like vm does?
I am honestly so baffled by the idea that Vax is somehow an overarching touchstone plot character that I can't really answer the question as asked because you are having such a wildly different experience of TLOVM than I am, but uh, I don't think TLOVM has a main/central character and I don't think the Mighty Nein show should either. They are both ensemble shows.

hi! sorry if this is common knowledge/available elsewhere but is there a specific schedule to nein again, or is everyone just rewatching m9 at their own pace? i actually am watching it for the first time now and somehow ended up exactly where it seems everyone doing nein again is, so if there is a set schedule maybe i will just try to join the bandwagon lol
There is a specific schedule; it began some months ago and we watch an episode a week (usually on Sunday, but people catch up over the week as I do). @mightyneinrewatch is the blog for it (I do not run this blog nor do I know who does). If you are caught up through 2x27 then yes, feel free to join, though it is obviously a slow pace!

Caleb's "write what you know" is kind of great though given that the only two of the Nein present are the only two who know his backstory. like you know what? he knows it's effective.

Almost done with the Nein again episode and remembered that it must be next week when one of my favorite stupid moments happens...I really do love that c2 is like, a great story with fantastic characters but also it's got jokes

"where are the audio dramas made by women??"
"where are the audio dramas made by poc??"
they are here. they exist and they are plentiful. you just need to stop listening to the same show 3 shows made by white men on repeat. it is always so painfully clear to me the difference between people who are fans of Audio Drama as a medium and people who are fans of (insert big show here). When their chosen fixation fails to provide the representation that they claim to advocate for, they make up for it via diverse headcanons instead of listening to shows Made by marginalized communities.
expand your horizons. don't just reblog posts with lists of shows made by marginalized communities, actually listen to those shows. talk about them on social media. the Big Shows don't need more publicity, they will be popular forever. put your mouth and your support where you claim it is.

I mean, you mentioned it in the past how insecure c3 fans are about the campaign and the characters. But how insecure do you have to be about your ship (that is canon), that something like this bothers you?
this is what I have never understood about imo/dna specifically: the patterns of behavior have always matched what I usually see from people angry about a ship that didn't go canon, except it's canon. Like I don't think it's interesting, but I don't deny that in canon, Imogen and Laudna are together. I think Imogearne would have been vastly more compelling as two women dealing with the combination of parental abandonment and a strange destiny tied to Ruidus that they never asked for in vastly different ways, vs "uhhhhhhhh I guess it was love at first sight that we didn't recognize as such for two years that are pretty much a complete nothing in terms of shared backstory" but like, it is what it is! But it really is like...if you guys felt like you won, why are you scrounging for microexpressions so hard you're already mad at editing for a live show that hasn't even been revealed? why are you defensive about the In Another Life question that's never going to be canon? Why do you act like fic numbers are all that matters and then freak out about ships with quite literally less than a tenth as many fics? If this is the best meal of your life, why did you walk away as though you're starving?

honestly watching people lose their minds about the fact that in an unrecorded VIP Q&A, when asked a "what if the world was made of pudding" question, Laura said that if Imogen wasn't with Laudna she'd be with Fearne, is so deeply typical of a pattern that's been going on since like, 2019 at least. As others have correctly said, there is a pattern with shippers for Laura and Marisha's characters specifically of being really fucking freaked out by remarkably tame in-canon references to lesbian sex or women's sexuality; this is the same vibe as the discussion a week or two ago about their bashing of Beauyasha for being explicitly sexual, but with a different competing f/f ship. The second is related: if other people enjoy the concept of another f/f ship, suddenly the shippers can't accuse everyone else of lesbophobia and misogyny on the basis of not liking femslash, because they do like it, just not that specific ship. So anyway we get this response of playing No True Femslash Shipper so that those ships don't "count" whenever something they perceive as in competition gets a whisper of validation, which, as all logical fallacies do, turns the argument, like (allegedly) Imogen's cervix in fanfic, to dust.
