another thing that i wanted to talk about in this months beauty column is the DIFFERENCE that blush placement makes. so i was scrolling on pinterest when i came across this chart that talked about blush placement.

when you apply blush a certain way it balances out ur beautiful features and plays around with proportions in such a way that can make ur features more prominent. also the way that u apply ur blush totally changes the way that ur makeup looks.

for example when u apply blush to the apples of ur cheeks it gives a more youthful and glowy effect. when u put blush high on ur cheekbones it gives a more lifted and sculpted look which is where the blush chart comes in. depending on ur face shape u can determine which style of blush placement complements ur pretty face the best 💗

in this column, lets look at some old and new fashion trends and see which trends are flops and which ones are bops. my sources include vogue, and glamour magazine…💬🎀

according to vogue, statement gowns are OUT and discreet chics are IN. discreet chic is mixing basics in minimalist yet compelling ways. this includes things like trench coats, pencil skirts, trouser suits and good jeans.

according to glamour magazine, crisp whites and butter yellows are trending this summer. along with sequins and basics like denim pants and white t-shirts, polished kitten heels and mary jane flats also. the styles that are trending for this summer are boho 3.0 and little white dresses.

something i can DEF get behind is little white dresses. its like a blank canvas on which u can make the outfit into whatever you want. personally i would style a tiny white dress with chunky bracelets and wedges/kitten heels…💬🎀

LETS TALK MANIFESTATION ;

manifestation techniques are overrated - all you have to do to manifest is affirm -> persist. thats essentially all you have to do and when i first started i was so caught up in techniques and routines that i wasn't even affirming/persisting. i was doing anything and everything and i saw manifestation as a process and manifestation is NOT a process. when i shifted that and realized that manifesting is instant and all techniques are for funsies, the pressure was taken off.

this is an excerpt from my manifestation opinions post and i've released this poll to talk about what manifestation topic you guys would like me to talk about and the winner was saturation so lets talk about it. so what does it mean to saturate? i got this question a while ago in my inbox so im just gonna copy and paste my response.

saturating is simply soaking ur mind in the fact that u already have what u want. i do this with affirming, some people do other things to saturate but affirming is the most simple for me. just think as if u have it over and over and over again…💬🎀

I could write a darn essay about Renfield and his role in the story. His status as a servant of Dracula is kept hidden from our heroes despite how obvious it is to the modern reader, and it turns into a striking example of dramatic irony. But at the same time, he's not a simpering servant; he's psychotic and Dracula feeds his delusion for his own gain. His death isn't a sacrifice, it's a tragic end to a story about the effects of isolation on the mind and the suffering that can come about from people refusing to listen to those who aren't like them. Pretty damned amusing, then, that absolutely no one seems to listen to the words that come out of his mouth.

people hate this guy. people HATE this guy. and for what? "hes abusive" you are out of your MIND if you actually think that. let middle aged men be messy jilted lovers, goddamn!!!!

Kamala will be the nominee

See the bigger picture--the current Dem reps were there on January 6. Many stated first hand they thought their lives were in danger. The Dems know if they don't win this election, they will be dead. Not metaphorically. This is a guy who loves autocrats and Putin. Who would have Presidential Immunity. Current Democrats in office know Trump will come after them, arrest them, possibly even execute them as part of his plan to go after his political enemies.

Dems also know it's been publicly messy, trying to get Biden to drop out. But they have polling data showing that he's rapidly losing the confidence of those bellwethers in swing states like my Ma - otherwise not that informed or engaged but still CONSISTENT moderate voters who don't like Trump, but see their elderly father with dementia in Biden and Are Concerned™. They don't event need to vote Trump - all it takes is those voters staying home to throw the election his way. So Dems know they needed to pivot from Biden, and they are ready to minimize the damage done.

Now, they know it's time to unify, because the stakes are too great. Literally, this decision is life or death for any current Democratic politician.

They don't want mess. They don't want brokered convention. They DO want to take advantage of a convention that maximizes ratings; they will make this look simple; that Kamala is really the only choice, as the current VP and they will coalesce around her.

She already has some key endorsements including politicians from swing states who are quite popular with their electorate and progressives in the squad. The convention will be the chance to vet the best new VP and contrast with the RNC by showing America an actual unifying message, with Harris at the top of the ticket.

I'm almost to blue ranks and I feel like I've kinda fluked my way here cause I just don't feel like I've had many opportunities to play my character (Leo) the way that I learned was "correct" from 7. well idk how you play so its hard to tell you but i think of "properly" playing a character by maximizing reward and minimizing risk. that is an extremely general statement but i mean like... what moves are you using, and what weaknesses do those moves have, and are you getting wins because of a plan you had vs did you win because your opponent was completely flabbergasted and confused the whole time.

for leo specifically (who is a very good character IMO) its harder because a lot of leos moves are pretty rewarding and not super risky sans like, some string that leads into a high that someone might know and launch. i think if youre winning youre playing your character correctly in that CONTEXT but i've found that certain characters teach bad habits that make continuous progress harder. like leo has a lot of forward momentum, so there's less incentive to space or play patient. but that's no big deal, youll find someone who will call you out for that and then youll have to learn to adapt from there. TLDR if youre confident in your wins, youre playing correctly, but if youre not confident REALLY take a look at your losses and analyze why they happened.

Kakegurui Chapter 106 spoilers / chatter ahead

quick preamble that this will be a stream of consciousness-y write-up, so maybe we're subject to being a bit disjointed this time. maybe some typos. who knows.

but in any case one thing i will talk about though is that in chapter 106 we see another callback to older chapters. And while you can argue that I was just imagining the parallel in 28 vs 104.5, this one is pretty clearly deliberate

Chapter 29 (tower of doors) vs Chapter 106

These chapters have taught us that Yumeko's impulses seem to be inborn, and that's Just How She Is, but there's pretty clearly a case to be made if we posit that her actual behavior and...methodology? is largely informed by Kabura. Nature/Nurture type thing.

Yumeko is able to clock that Sayaka's "everything" is her connection to Kirari because Yumeko herself was "everything" to Souko. Kabura forced Yumeko and Souko to become effective strangers and Yumeko is aware of the impact that has.

ok that notwithstanding though, I don't think Kabura has actually...outmaneuvered Yumeko. She has this whole shtick about how Yumeko is some completely different beast and how she has the potential to 'swallow the Hundred Devouring Families' (something Kirari has been shown to have a vested interest in seeing happen, mind you) and separating her from her sister was done in the interest of minimizing Souko's positive influence and maximizing Yumeko's innate unhingedness.

Sure, yeah, she did that much.

But if we presume there to be a parallel between chapter 29 and 106, then there's probably another parallel that'll follow: how things actually turned out.

In the Tower of Doors, Sayaka lost. She threw herself off the tower, Kirari jumped after her, and because Sayaka had (either intuited or guessed luckily) chosen the correct door to jump from the two of them landed on that safety mat. Adhering to the condition that 'they were strangers', Kirari circumvented the finality of it by simply re-introducing herself. like. el oh el. el oh el el oh el.

Now I naturally don't expect there to actually be a 1-to-1 parallel therein, but what I AM getting at is that Yumeko clearly still holds some regard for her older sister.

1. She doesn't call Kabura 'big sis' when asked to AND 2. she outwardly reacts when it's suggested that she'll see Souko:

Also note that Kabura drops this line on her after having her get ready for a funeral like...gorl...

I don't think this is a funeral for Souko because that just. makes no sense. Maybe the aunt? Or maybe this is related to Souko's collapse earlier in the chapter (the point at which she's hospitalized, persnaps?) and Kabura is just being Really, Really Mean. Hmst've.

3. She's paying for Souko's medical expenses out of pocket:

and 4. She still wears the ring that matches Souko's (originally her parents' engagement rings), an accessory that she's already mentioned makes her feel connected to them:

and like, maybe this is just a me thing, but if I were a young child and didn't remember my parents at all, but me and my sister who I DO know end up wearing their engagement rings as a matching set... I'd eventually end up associating the ring with my sister. Ionno! Just a thought!

ALSO in regards to the ring, Yumeko is literally never seen without it. She wears it in that really sapphic two-page spread with Mary. She wears it when metaphorically (and illustrated as... homura i just want to talk) 'stripped bare' of her attachments. The ring is HIGHLIGHTED in multiple (albeit not all) chapter/volume covers

That ring is part of a matching set with the one Souko wears, so that might actually be the single piece of something material that she ascribes sentimental value to. and like gee, I wonder why.

This is all to say that, if we use the wording from the aforementioned parallel, much like Kirari and Sayaka were not 'made strangers' with finality, it really doesn't seem to me that Kabura was successful in severing Yumeko's attachment to her sister. You can argue that she separated them, and she most definitely did, but stuff like trying to get Yumeko to call her 'big sis' is a pretty obvious acid test that she's not been shown to pass yet.
