A blog that makes tournaments about fictional minor characters (a.k.a. kids and teens) that are heavily mistreated, either by their creators and/or the fandoms the characters are in.

- Runs tourneys for fictional kids hated by their fandoms. First poll was for pre-teens, second was for teenagers, and they're currently sorting through submissions for a "screwed by the writers" round for both age brackets where bad writing/wasted potential plays a part in said hate. Which is awesome because kids are way more likely to be the target of "why are they like that?! They're sooo problematic/stupid/irredeemable!!!" and kids' shows (which have a lot of kids in them) are likely to be the target of (wow these writers are soooo naive/stupid/problematic and the show is irredeemable!!!) so it's really great to get some common sense and genuine love going around! Very good tourney.

The Defect - Lightning, Frost, Dark, and Plasma

Propaganda under the cut

The Defect: The Defect is a metal automaton who gained sentience and seeks freedom from The Spire. Its main method of fighting is channeling Orbs, which passively give bonuses and can be Evoked to a greater effect, at the cost of the orb itself. Lightning orbs deal damage to a random enemy. Frost orbs increase The Defect's defense for a turn. Dark orbs build up power over time, and deal damage to the enemy with the lowest health when evoked. And lastly, Plasma orbs give The Defect extra energy, which allows it to perform more actions per turn.

Anxious whenever I submit Blorbo from my *whatever* for a poll tourney even though BFMW fits all the criteria. Like, 'oh my god is it ACTUALLY like this for them or am I just making shit up cause I love them' and the rules for submission make the tourney literally for them

"Y'all Hate Kids: Screwed by the Writers" Submission Form

"Y'all Hate Kids" tourney is back for a third season! 

Is there a character you know- or even enjoy- who's a kid who has been done dirty by the writers and fans alike? Maybe the writers ruined what could have been amazing character development, or maybe they left them on the sidelines to begin with. The fandom's hatred of this character is excessive, and how dare you appreciate them anyway? If a character fits this description, then this is the tournament for you!

Rules:

The character should be a kid/teen by function, but age helps in determining if they qualify

Propaganda is the main qualifier

We reserve the right to reject submissions that make us uncomfortable. Historically, we have rejected submissions for Harry Potter and DSMP

The Final 4* of "Y'all Hate Kids" and Final 8* of "Y'all Hate Teens" are ineligible for the main tourney, but we may include them for bonus rounds after the tourney has concluded if they fit the bill. 

Submissions will be open for a week. The tourney will be as big as it needs to be.

*For reference, the high placers are: Mabel Pines, Amane Momose, Ken Amada, Chara Dreemurr, Sansa Stark, Katara, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, Shinji Ikari, Megumi Fushiguro, Wesley Crusher, Yukari Takeba. Sakura will almost certainly be part of a bonus round.
