Thank you!! I’ve come to appreciate that fic more and more the longer it’s been since I wrote it. I don’t see myself writing a part 2 or playing in that fandom sandbox again at the moment, but you never know! So I guess over the holidays, my shitty ex DM’d my mom on social media (she’d been offline for like two months bc of hospitalization), and was like “Just thought you should hear it from me before anyone else but…I’m getting married.”

And my mom tells me this, laughing, wondering why the fuck he thinks she cares. Like, we’ve been broken up for almost a decade and this is the same man that, after we split up, sent my parents what amounted to a manifesto because he was so irrationally upset over everything. I’ve had him blocked on every platform since we separated households and have never once considered contacting him or his family to let them know what’s up in my life.

But here he is, either assuming I still stalk his social media and am distraught over his impending marriage, or hoping that I will become distraught when my mom breaks the news to me.

I guess considering the housing crisis and high cost of living, I’m lucky to still live rent-free in this motherfucker’s head.

Completely understand Robin for being down bad for the wacky speedo man btw. Wasn't sure at first but then he showed up to rescue her from certain death covered in blood from an explosion that should've killed a normal person, shielded her from bullets and a giant sword with his body, and helped her viciously beat up the guy they both hate with slapstick comedy techniques and a metal fist. All dressed in a hawaiian shirt and funky sunglasses with a look of profound Crazy in his eyes. Incredible first date I also would've fallen in love with him instantly.
