note that when Jin Ling says he is 'almost fifteen' that means he is very much still fourteen, and that he's counting in a system where you're born age 1.

so he's thirteen. we would say, he is 13 years old.

in a modern AU he would be in the 8th grade. statistically he is just starting puberty. he is a child.

The moment Luo Binghe is shoved backwards into the Endless Abyss, he knows he will never return. No one comes back from the Abyss, the rift torn through reality. Doubly so, now that the seal upon his demonic heritage is shattered.

He sees Shizun’s face twist in something complicated and horrible, even as it grows smaller and finally disappears.

But he doesn’t ever hit the ground. Instead, warm water closes over his head and the force of his fall drives him deep. The water seems too thick around him and eventually even his cultivator’s lungs need a reprieve. And when he involuntarily opens his mouth all he tastes is blood.

Luo Binghe panics, gasping for air that is not there and searching blindly for the surface. And somehow he finds it, clawing his way out of the blood like some half-dead thing. There is blood in his eyes, he’s completely coated in it. He probably looks like a monster.

Somewhere to his side there’s the sound of people jumping to their feet, cries of shock and fear.

“Jiejie! Get Wei-gongzi! Now!”

Summary: Near death after destroying the Stygian Tiger Seal, Wei Wuxian has one last wish. He wishes to see Lan Zhan one last time. The universe grants him this final act of kindness. In the dead of night, Lan Wangji wakes up with a surprise visitor. Kay's comments: This was so soft and heartbreaking. Wei Wuxian, at the brink of death after the destruction of the Yin Tiger Tally, travels forward in time and gets to experience one day of him and Lan Wangji being married. My heart broke for both of them in this scenario, because Lan Wangji put the pieces together quickly and realized what was going on and Wei Wuxian thought for a long time that this was just a nice dream he dreamt. It also felt healing though. For both of them. Very soft, very strong on the hurt/comfort. Excerpt: At the same time, he also wants to pull Lan Wangji closer, to engulf himself in that embrace, to keep letting himself be held down by those strong arms. “I don’t know what’s going on,” he says, helplessly. Lan Wangji hums, fingers still massaging against his scalp, and it feels… nice. More than nice. Wei Wuxian wants to melt against that touch. He’s still so tired, the kind of weariness that eats into the bone. He cannot remember the last time someone has cared for him, has touched him so casually. He’s never had Lan Wangji touching him in this way. Or touching him, ever. “Was it another nightmare?” That low voice asks, calm like an anchor in the darkness. Wei Wuxian doesn’t have an answer, suddenly feeling disoriented. Was everything that happened before he woke up only a nightmare? The dying, the pain? But even then, how did he wake up like this? In bed, with Lan Wangji no less. And Lan Wangji didn’t even push him away. As if this is a common occurrence for him. Like it’s normal for them to wake up together. Apparently sensing his dissociation, Lan Wangji pulls back, tilts his chin up, and kisses him sweetly. Wei Wuxian’s mind blanks completely.

imagine that you're jiang cheng and you have a meeting at jinlintai to pick up jin ling / discuss jin ling's educational plans / etc etc.. you arrive earlier than expected, so they tell you that lianfang-zun is still busy with his sworn brothers. that's okay though, you can spend the time feeding the koi in the koi pond with jin ling.

looks like jin guangshan is also busy which is alright because you don't want to talk to him and wait holy shit did chifeng-zun just kick lianfang-zun down the stairs????? huh?????????

Okay, so that Jin captain obviously wasn't Meng Yao's first human kill, because he'd served the Nie in war with reasonable distinction for multiple years before getting transferred to the Jin with Nie Mingjue's recommendation; of course he'd killed people before.

They were all killing people. War is hell.

But show of hands, do we think that was his first murder, with the careful setup of being alone near the front and killing the guy with a Wen sword, and it was just Jin Guangyao's typical luck, having his political patron who shouldn't even have been in the area just wander up looking for him at exactly the worst moment? Or had he gotten away with previous similar acts, and that's why he expected to get away with this one?
