Okay I've moved on to eps 15-17 this morning. Literally. Legit I woke up and turn on the TV and start watching.

I hate y'all honestly.

IT'S STILL MORNING. I JUST WOKE UP. AND I WAS GREETED BY THE MOST GUT WRENCHING EPISODES SO FAR??? I haven't even got the sleeping dust out of my eyes yet before I started crying. GUYS I HATE THIS ARC SO MUCH.

The episodes didn't give me a break at all. One thing after another happened R U KIDDING ME? Rip lotus piers. Rip the parents. Rip the kids happiness. Rip Jiang Cheng's golden core. Rip my morning.

The only reason I didn't continue is because I know what will happen in eps18 okay. I know what Wei Wuxian will do and I simply chose to ignore it. You'd see me again probably never.

I NEED TO GIVE THE SIBLINGS A HUG OKAY. THEY'RE LITERALLY BABIES. ALL THREE OF THEM. THEY DESERVE BETTER. Watching all of them suffer is like having a knife twisting in my gut — I JUST CAN'T. I was scared before but I didn't expect this kind of heartbreak to happen so quickly all at the same time 😭😭

I spent 90% of the episodes crying and I hate every single second of it.

My unhinged, highly off the walls idea for post cannon is where jl is still not adjusting well to the corruption of the sects, and because teenage angst he rants to jc abt it dramatically. But jc who is not processing all the shit from the temple sees the flaws in the sect system.

Later, jl gets into serious trouble and has a hit out on him. All this happens cuz jl wanted to make good reforms. So jc decides to fix the issue for him and begrudgingly asks wwx to help him change shit. Since wwx moves fast and breaks things, that plus jc's *long term planning* means they r doing good also lwj helps in the bg cuz wwx. So yunmeng bros reconcile. Wwx has also grown and stuff here.

Anyways it goes smoothly till it dosent then junior quadro helps and proves they r not kids no more and earns the older casts respect. And song lan is with them too Sweet moments ensue.

Then, ths group realises that the sect system has to go cuz we need communism or functional anarchy or something like that. Anyways it's a good new system. And ofc jgy's corpse/spirit gets possessed and he gives them the idea.

Anyway later they meet OC person who has similar revolutionary ideas and the backing of common people. So they decide to join the cause.

All the while jc is going thru an identity crisis cuz who is he if not SLJ. Then he discovers having a personality and enjoying hobbies and shit. On the side the revolutionary gang succeeds and BOOM utopia (theoretical cuz change takes time). So wwx gets closure for the wens.Also during this junior quadro makes more friends and become OVERPOWERED AS HELL bcz y the fuck not.

After that jc gets to get rid of all the massive amounts of responsibility he has. And also accepts his parents r human and made a lot of fucking mistakes. And when he finally lets go of the title, he finds true happiness.

So he helps the new system of governance plan and stuff cuz he's got experience building shite up from the ground and obvi nhs helps (he was secretly helping from the beginning). And jl is happy and concerned cuz jc is emotionally regulated now. Wwx is horrified but like proud.

So 10 yrs later BOOM practical utopia. The End.

The Guanyin temple confession is maybe my favorite scene of any piece of media I've ever consumed because it's so unpredictable.

You got the villain just halting his evil plot, full stop, in the middle of his gloating speech, no less, because "What do you MEAN you guys aren't even together?! What?! No, no, no, there won't be any romantic misunderstanding in my hostage situation! Honey, tell him!"

And then the calmest, most polite character alive procceeds to go his version of apeshit on this punk like "my brother like-likes you, you fucking pinecone! You useless twink! We all thought you were a hoe but you are just an imbecile!" (Which is a nice parallel to the Jiang brothers' hatred for the peacock, but I digress)

And THEN, when it's the perfect moment for a climatic love confession, homeboy goes and screams for everyone to hear that he... really wanted that dick, Hanguang-jun! Where's love? Who cares? WWX wants to ride you like a carnival ride: sticky and filthy and multiple times.

It's a wonder that Xichen didn't yank that string from Jing GuangYao to strangle WWX himself.

Sunshot campaign forces move through kuizhou and while the sect leaders are having private discussions Wei wuxian and Jiang Yanli go for a stroll and hear the locals complaining about a menace to the town and how this little devil is the most evil guy they’ve ever met and Wei wuxian goes to investigate. Comes back to camp and jyl is like

“Did you manage resolve that devil issues?”

And wwx is like “ Yeah!” And proceeds to pull out a whole 12 yo Xue yang from his sleeve

One thing I wish there was more of in mdzs, is wwx interacting with the undead outside of just controlling them. Like idk, in my head I picture wwx sadly blowing his flute and some zombie next to him all like :(
