"Jinx left so Vi wouldn't have to choose between them, she left so Vi could finally be happy"

Is anyone else bothered by the implication that a relatively NEW girlfriend would be capable of making someone just as if not MORE happy than healing their relationship with their sister, who they spent YEARS wanting to make up with?

Me personally, I can get over a bad breakup. But if either of my sisters DIED, or simply chose to actively walk out of my life forever, that would fucking break me. I would not, in fact, move on. And maybe it's different for you guys, but Vi consistently spent an entire season trying to find and make up with Jinx. I don't know what the hell happened in season 2, but her saying "the only thing that kept me going was the thought of getting back to you" about her 7-year prison sentence doesn't sound like "I'll be better off with this girl I've dated for a total of 2 weeks".

Why is there an immediate assumption that any romantic relationship holds just as much if not MORE weight than any platonic/familial one? I'm sorry but why is it even a contest? I'm fully convinced that in season 1, had Jinx not demanded Vi kill Caitlyn- aka take a life, ANY life- and instead asked for LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE, she'd have done it. Remember what she said? She said they could leave the entire city behind, just the two of them, and never come back. She was ready to leave their home, leave Caitlyn, leave all of it, for Jinx. Because at the end of the day, all she wanted was her sister back. But suddenly season 2 rolls around and it's "Caitlyn makes her happier." When? Where? How? I don't see any scenes of Caitlyn making Vi happy. Oh but she did hit her though, after getting upset that Vi didn't want her to shoot at a kid.

I'm sick of romantic relationships being taken as "naturally" being the priority. Maybe if you're married with kids or something, you'll prioritize your partner over your friends, sure (but if you have kids they still take priority over your partner IMO). But a 2-week-long situationship? I've known people who get ghosted after longer than that. Fucking be real with me.

I'm simply not convinced that Caitlyn should matter this much to Vi so quickly. It shouldn't even be a competition. I genuinely cannot imagine Vi, who's SOLE MOTIVATION in season 1 was Jinx, and who's SOLE MOTIVATION in EVERY UNIVERSE and TIMELINE was her FAMILY, would ever "move on" and "be happier" with any romantic partner. Callous as it may sound, she can always get another girlfriend. There's no replacing her sister.

tw: the scene where caitlyn and maddie are in bed together

a friend is rewatching arcane s2 rn and pointed out that even though it's very dark and kind of hard to tell, the room caitlyn and maddie are in in that scene doesn't look like caitlyn's room!!

now this might be a false alarm but if it isn't, here's what that implies:

caitlyn didn't let maddie into her actual bed (we all cheered!). now i very seriously doubt they're in maddie's house for reasons of wealth and convenience, which means there are like three possible ways things could've gone down w/ caitlyn and maddie sleeping together.

1) most likely caitlyn (and maddie, individually) took a guest bedroom somewhere in the council building, which means she's been so busy with the zaun invasion in pursuit of jinx, she literally hasn't been home and sleeping in her own bed (which is just sad because it implies overworking herself and disconnecting with her home and family, even the memory of the mother she's trying to avenge)

2) if this is just another room in caitlyn's house (which would be crazy, just imagine caitlyn's dad meeting maddie), has caitlyn been sleeping in her own bed when she's by herself and only going to this guest bedroom when maddie is with her?? that must've been so inconvenient and awkward to establish between them lol

3) if this is just another room in caitlyn's house and she hasn't been using it only when she's with maddie, that would imply she had the opportunity to sleep in her own bed (even without maddie) and she chose not to. could it be that after her fight with vi, caitlyn hasn't been sleeping in her own room in general because of the memories they shared there together?

i think 1) is the most likely, followed by 3) and then 2).

and lastly, let's remember that after the explosion that injures vi, caitlyn is sick with worry for her. jinx just surrenders and caitlyn can't even decide what to do with her - she's too worried abt vi recovering and likely wants it to be her decision too, having seen their family bond and truly understood now.

caitlyn most likely takes vi to a hospital/doctor and then takes her to her house, so she can ensure her safety. caitlyn who's been so busy she hasn't been sleeping in her own bed, is calling the enforcers out of zaun, and is preparing for war lets an injured vi sleep in her bed immediately, even before they've talked things out between them (which means a lot, esp if she never let maddie into her bed, or if she had right until now).

moreover, in the scene where vi wakes up and we see loris has been taking care of her too, we also see a bunch of throw pillows on the other side of the bed next to vi. they're obviously not for him. caitlyn has been sitting (not sleeping) there, taking care of vi even with everything else going on. waiting for her to wake up so she can make the call for what happens to jinx. true fucking love or whatever.

symbolically, caitlyn either returns to her house, to herself and her family (after seeing the love in vi's), to what matters, in order to take care of vi and because she's not commander anymore, at least not in the original intended way once jinx is captured and she calls off the zaun invasion, or she's still in a council bedroom because there's yet much work to do but has been finding time to come home and take care of vi despite that.

i also want to point out another thing. when vi wakes up and comes to confront caitlyn abt imprisoning jinx (which, honestly, is better than letting a random enforcer kill her or have her cause more damage which is what could've happened if she'd let her go, which caitlyn eludes to), maddie is already there in the room with caitlyn but we only see one chair. maddie isn't meant to be there in caitlyn's house. she isn't meant to sit down and make herself comfortable. (and yes, we see two chairs when ambessa comes to talk to caitlyn but it's also intentional what gets shown when). when caitlyn tells her, "check on my father?" and dismisses her before she has the chance to interact with vi, she means this is all her relationship w/ maddie is to her. and in the very end of the show when we see vi humming her mother's song to herself, she's in the same room. there are two chairs there now.

i'm so fucked but this is all speculation.

note : as a huge movie buff myself, i absolutely love request. basing this request off me and my friend's reaction to 'long legs' by nicholas cage. spoiler : me and my bestie absolutely hated it *sighs*

content warning : swearing , op projecting and bitching about long legs

it's you and vi's monthly cinema date night. ever since you and her officially became girlfriends, going to the cinema monthly easily became a tradition. you've always been a big movie buff, something you got from your dad.

for tonight's movie, you and vi watched the latest showing for nicholas cage's new horror movie, 'longlegs'. it was highly praised online, it was even called "one of the scariest horror films". because of that, you and vi's expectations were through the roof.

"you ready for this shortcake?" vi whispered, her breath tickling your ear. you scoffed playfully and started cracking your fingers as the movie started, "i was born ready."

the movie ended around 10 minutes ago, you and vi sat inside her jeep. she looked at you expectantly, her eyes scanning your face trying to figure out why you've been dead silent. normally, you're already yapping away about the movie.

"sooo..." she started. "what are our thoughts..?" vi knew that she absolutely hated the movie, she just wanted to know your thoughts first. she's not gonna lie to you and tell you that she liked it just because you did though.

you closed your eyes for a second, taking a deep breath as if bracing yourself. "i... it-"

"i fucking hated it," you sighed, "i feel like we wasted money watching that piece of crap. i mean- i absolutely enjoyed the first part of the movie, i loved the foreshadowing, the literal devil in the details, the atmosphere-"

vi chuckled and stared lovingly at you, listening to every word that came out of your mouth. she's always loved how passionate you are when it comes to the things you love. with every hand gesture and facial expression you had, vi's smile grew bigger.

"- we were scammed! robbed! i've never been so disappointed in a horror movie, even fucking megan was better! i just- i don't even know what to say anymore." you let out an exasperated groan, flailing your arms before turning to vi. "what about you baby? what do you think?"

"i hated it too baby," vi said, her lips twitching into a smile. you sighed in relief, "i'm so glad- wait- you're not just saying that because i didn't like the movie right?"

vi snorted, rolling her eyes playfully at you as she started the car. "you know me better than that shortcake," she said. "just because i love you doesn't mean i'll agree to everything you say baby."

you nodded in agreement, "that's great, amazing."

silence filled the car again, your eyes were glued to your phone and vi was focused on the road. a couple of minutes later, she finally pulled in to your shared apartment.

"posted your review already?" vi asked, holding the door open for you. you smiled and nodded, holding your phone out to vi. "just posted on letterboxd, rotten tomatoes, and on my blog."

vi laughed, slinging an arm around you before pressing a kiss to your forehead, "you're such a nerd."

"you love that about me though," you said with an eye roll, your arm wrapping around vi's waist. your girlfriend sighed lovingly, "i love everything about you shortcake."

you giggled, nuzzling against vi, "i love everything about you too."

despite the intense disappointment you had for the movie, you and vi still had a great time which was the most important thing. the rest of the night was spent cuddling with her and binge watching ya'lls favorite show, and the horrible movie was soon forgotten.

note : when i said i projected i meant it *sigh* im sorry if you liked longlegs lol. anyways, hoped u guys enjoyed this one !

Broken cycles and fixed bonds (Part 4)

The air in the room shifts as the weight of Y/N’s secrets settle in, “You’re shaking like a leaf toots” Jinx whispers, her voice laced with worry, trying her best to console her girlfriend as she rubs gentle circles on her back as the other two women watch with sore hearts.  “We don’t have to do this now.  We can-“

“Y/N?” a whispered voice sounds from the doorway, all heads snap in the direction of the sound to see the owner of the voice.  “Hi…Dad”  Y/N smiles weakly at a stunned Tobius Kiramman, his mouth opening and closing like a guppy.

Tobius’s eyes widen in shock, his face pale as he stumbles forward, desperate to confirm if his daughter is truly there.  “Y/N…is that really you?”  his voice strained and trembling with emotion, his knees almost buckle beneath him.  Caitlyn quickly rises from Vi’s lap, rushing to her father’s side to support him.  “Father, please, you should sit down” she urges, but Tobius shakes her off, his gaze never leaving Y/N’s face.  The same face that shares perfect resemblance of his late wife and daughter.  “No, no, I’m fine,” he insists, slowly finding his voice.  “H-how? You died, I saw you die”  the man has tears slowly trickling down his face.

Y/N’s face falls, taking a step towards her dad as her eyes well up with tears.  “I’m so sorry, dad,” she whispers, her voice cracking.  “I had to leave, I had to make you believe I was gone or you’d keep looking for me”  She sniffles desperately trying to keep her tears at bay.  “W-Why?”  he stammers, not bothered by the steady streams of tears flowing down his aged face.  “W-why did you have to?”  Y/N’s heart breaks hearing the man who raised her fall apart, all because of her.  Looking away from him she answers, “I couldn’t bare bringing anymore shame to our family”  She whispers, everyone else in the room forgotten, just bystanders watching a heartbreaking reunion.

“Shame? Y/N, you never were and never will be a shame to me, you’re my daughter, and I love you no matter what.” Tobius stands taller, almost…proud.  “Even though im a baseborn half breed?”  Y/N stutters out, fighting to keep her emotions at bay.  “Blood or not you ARE MY DAUGHTER”  Tobius is quick to pull her into his arms where she falls apart, in the familiar embrace of her dad. 

They sink to the floor together, overcome by their emotions.  Tobius holds Y/N tightly as he whispers in her ear, “You may not be my blood but you are no baseborn, you hear me.  You are Y/N Kiramman, daughter of Cassandra Kiramman, second to the head of the house, you never have and never will bring shame to our family, your family,” his grip tightens as Y/N clutches onto his shirt, sobs wracking through her body.  Tobius’s words wash over her as she smiles through her tears, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders.  It’s a sense of belonging and love she hasn’t experienced in years, and it was like coming home.

Caitlyn slowly walks up to them, before wrapping her arms around both, unshed tears in her eyes.  “We will face whatever comes next together, as a family.  You’re not alone Y/N.  You never were.”  Caitlyn whispers, her eyes travel to Jinx and Vi with a smile, her family is finally back, and only growing.   

With a rollercoaster of a day, and many tears shed, Y/N is left utterly exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally.  Everyone settled down, enjoying a cup of tea in front of the fireplace whilst exchanging simple conversation, Y/N however, is fast asleep.  Her head is nuzzled comfortably in Jinx’s chest as soft snores leave her mouth.  “You know, I never expected you to be so soft Jinx”  Vi teases as she watches her sister gently stroke Y/N’s cheek, a soft smile adorning her face. 

Jinx’s gaze snaps to her sister who is sat smugly with her own girlfriend sat in her lap once more.  “Shut up” she groans as her cheeks turn a crimson colour, yet she continues her ministrations, caressing her girlfriend’s soft skin.  “Don’t be jealous now” Jinx tries to snap back but it fails miserably, causing Vi to snort and roll her eyes, a fond smile playing on her lips watching the interaction.

Whilst the sisters take digs at each other, Caitlyn sat quietly in Vi’s lap, observing her sister’s sleeping form.  “what’s running through that beautiful mind of yours cupcake?”  Vi speaks softly, gently kissing Caitlyn’s knuckles.  “She has changed so much yet remained the same”  Caitlyn speaks in the silence earning the attention of the other three conscious people in the room. 

“Care to get it off your mind?” Vi offers, now running a hand up and down Caitlyn’s back comfortingly.  “It’s just, growing up she always strived to be better, take on so much responsibility…you would swear she was the older sibling between the two of us” She chuckles, melting into Vi’s touch.  “She took all the pressure on herself, constantly trying to fix thing.  She would carry the weight of my responsibilities too, insisting that’s what sisters do”  she furthers, brows furrowing.

“To me, Y/N was the picture perfect Kiramman, albeit mother would always fight with her for wearing suits and not dresses, but she was always noble and elegant.  And best of all she was humble and kind.  She was always willing to help out, building gadgets to assist the town, in fact she actually helped my mother improve the designs for the ventilation systems in Zaun.” Caitlyn smiles, watching Y/N’s sleeping form melt into Jinx’s touch.

“She was my inspiration, my rock, my…my better half”  Caitlyn sighs averting her gaze as the memory of loosing her sister flashes behind her eyes.  “How old was she when it…you know, happened?”  Vi cautiously asks, placing a comforting hand on Caitlyn’s back.  “She was 12”  Tobius answers with a sombre air, “A fire in the lab she was working in, they said it was a freak accident”  He explains as a single tear escapes his eye at the memory.  

Vi and Jinx’s expressions soften, Vi pulls Caitlyn into a gentle hug whilst placing a comforting hand on Tobius’s shoulder.  “I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine what it was like” Vi whispers, voice filled with empathy.  “Losing someone like that it’s…it’s unbearable” Jinx whispers, her gaze held on Y/N’s sleeping form.  “What do you think happened to her during those following years she was gone?”  Tobius asks, he looks to Jinx next seeing as she has been with the girl the longest since then.

“I can’t imagine the half of it”  Caitlyn whispers, her voice muffled in Vi’s neck. “Has she ever gotten the chance to focus on her magic?”  Tobius asks Jinx after a moment.  Vi is quick to interrupt the conversation, “I’m sorry did you day magic?”  Her voice filled with shock; sure, she had seen Mel use her arcane, but she has never seen another mage since then.

“Yes, Y/N’s father was a mage, we discovered early on in her childhood that she possessed arcane magic”  Tobius explains to a flabbergasted Vi.  “Although she always hid it, suppressed it,”  Caitlyn furthers with a cute smile.  Vi’s eyes widen in stunned silence, her gaze darting to Y/N’s sleeping form in wonder and shock.  “A mage, she has magic…”  Vi’s mind races with impactions.  She has so many questions, but before she can ask any of them, Jinx’s voice cuts through the silence.  “Yeah, and that’s not even the half of it,” Jinx’s eyes gleam with a knowing intensity as she runs her fingers through short Y/H/C hair.

“But no she still supresses it, still refuses to just…be herself”  Jinx whispers, pain laced in her voice for her lover.  “It’s been years since she left and yet she still insists on hiding herself, its like she’s still ashamed”  Jinx turns to the three people, her eyes glazed over.  “What do you mean?”  Tobius asks, sadness and confusion mixed on his face.

Jinx doesn’t reply, instead she reaches for Y/N’s pants, slowly pulling the waistband down.  Tobius’s eyes widen in alarm at the implication, as the other two women blush.  “Jinx!  What are you doing?!”  Vi whisper shouts, careful not to wake Y/N.  “Oh relax you horn dogs, I’m trying to show you something,” with that Jinx continues to pull Y/N’s waistband down just past her hips.  There she presents a tail carefully tucked away, wrapped around her hips so no one would see the appendage. 

Jinx gently takes the grey, fur covered tail in her hand, unwrapping it form Y/N’s waist, in doing so the Y/N’s tail coils around Jinx’s arm.  “She always felt ashamed of her appearance, I never understood it before but now that I know she comes from a topside noble family I can understand…no offence by the way” Jinx explains whilst playing with the appendage.

Caitlyn sighs, “She hated the looks she would get when we were kids, so she started tucking her tail in her pants”  Caitlyn replays the memories in her head, whilst Tobius’s face contorts to sadness having witnessed the harassment his daughter would get.

After a beat of silence Caitlyn speaks up, “you know, I was always jealous of her tail”  she chuckles with a shake of her head, everyone’s attention now on her.  “You would always ask your mother why you couldn’t have one” Tobius laughs remembering a very young Caitlyn, red face and puffed out cheeks as she was repeatedly told se couldn’t.  “she would only take it out when we were alone, locked up in our rooms playing for hours on end”  Caitlyn smiles at the image of little her and Y/N.

“I remember her saying that she had to hide it so that mom and dad won’t be reminded of the pain her father had caused, she was scared that dad would reject her as his daughter and that mom would resent her for sharing resemblance to him”  A tear escapes her eye as she stares at her sister who looked so peaceful in that moment.

Tobius’s eyes cloud over as he looks away, his voice barely above a whisper.  “I had no idea…she never said anything.”  Caitlyn’s gaze drops, shaking her head she replies,  “She didn’t want to burden you, dad.  She’s always been like that, putting others before herself.” Everyone’s expression softens.  Jinx returns her gaze to her sleeping lover, “she carried the weight of burdens that weren’t hers, and she still does” her voice low and introspective.  The room falls silent, the only sound the soft rise and fall of Y/N’s chest as she sleeps.

This blog is about to be my Arcane yap blog so apologies.

But I don’t think we talk enough about how traumatizing Caits mothers death must have been for Cait. She was right there, in a position to stop Jinx but she didn’t because she hesitated, she couldn’t do that to Vi, ect. In season 2 she literally says, with remorse, to her father “I had the shot,” in reference to taking Jinx out. And then, because she decided to hold back, she watches, hopelessly, the exact moment that her mother is killed.

She must replay those minutes over and over and over again, wishing she had just pulled the trigger. She must’ve felt a part herself get ripped out as she watched the bomb hit the council building. The show touches on this pretty well but I feel the fans gloss it over. OF COURSE she’s obsessed with getting to finally kill Jinx. And OF COURSE she loses it when, once again, Vi stops her. The unconscious pressure to” fix” it all with a shot to Jinx’s head is the only thing driving her forward. That type of blind anger wrapped up in grief must be unimaginable.

Obviously, I’m Cait defender. I acknowledge that she did fucked up things. But can you imagine the way emotions tore her apart for those few weeks?

I feel that if Vi and Powder parents were still alive, Vander and Silco would have been like those dudes that stay as roomies their whole life, and everyone else is like "👀👀" but no one knows if they are just roomies or if there's something going on with them.

Thinking about barrel racer Vi and English speed jumper Caitlyn.

- Just imagine Vi as a pro rodeo racer who was on a sad losing streak, with a bunch of shit times going to an English show

- While watching the speed jumping class she notices Caitlyn just flying through the jumps perfectly on this huge thoroughbred mare, probably a OTTB. Vi is obsessed and cannot take her eyes off of Caitlyn until she leaves the show ring.

- After the show Vi goes to track down Caitlyn to talk to her about her riding. They get to talking and become best friends before they fall in love.

OR

- Speed jumper Caitlyn goes to her first Rodeo curious about western disciplines, she would look completely out of place among all of the cowgirls and boys.

- While watching the barrel races she sees Vi and is just starstruck at seeing this muscular woman in an black show jacket with pink embroidery with a matching hat just dominating everyone so far.

- while in the ring Vi catches Caitlyn’s eye and winks. This causes Caitlyn to absolutely melt and go to find Vi as soon as she leaves the ring.

- “What’s a sweet thing like you doing here” -Vi.

- They become besties and Vi teaches Caitlyn how to barrel race as they fall in love on a ranch.

-Jinx would totally love those over the top trail courses and be absolutely amazing at them. She would be coming home grand champ everytime

- She would also put Isha into mutton racing just because she thinks it would be cute to watch.
