The New Year had started much like the last year had ended for Asa Blake. Being experimented by James. It's been months now and Asa is fast losing any belief he had in the past that the cure to vampirism will happen.

He feels worse after every "session" despite his ex-wife, Annalise, doing her best to help him manage his..illness? He feels like he did when he was human and had a bad case of influenza but maybe it's progress? That he feels something that isn't normal for one of his kind.

He mind is thankfully distracted from his existence when he catches James approach Liberty through the window. Normally he would stay and listen but he rather go lay down in his coffin and rest.

"I know something is going on, you've been avoiding me for months. I rarely see you." James confronts his wife. Granted he finds plenty to keep himself busy with.

"I have a job now." is all Liberty offers. 

James has to stop himself from rolling his eyes. "I know that and I know you spend time with your sister but something else is going on."

Before Liberty realises it, James is in front of her. She really is distracted, she's the vampire not him.

"Tell me what it is, darling." James demands softly. "I'll find out anyway."

"I had a conversation with Caleb." Liberty admits, glaring at her husband. She wants to rip his handsome face off his head. 

"Let me guess, he apologized to you?" James asks. He's not really surprised the two ex-lovers ended up speaking to each other though he's not really pleased about it. 

Liberty nods her head. "I don't totally forgive him but it gave me some answers I needed." She knew her spouse wouldn't be happy about her talking to Caleb, that's why she had been avoiding him so she could sort through the conversation for herself without any outside opinions. 

"Did he happen to mention how he killed Ciara?" James asks firmly, grasping his wife's chin gently and making her look at him. 

"What?" Liberty asks him, her voice a whisper. She could feel her heart break at the idea of Ciara being killed. She had known that Ciara had been gone for a few years but didn't know what had happened to her. 

James sighes, his features and his voice softening a bit. Despite what some may think, he doesn't enjoy seeing his wife sad but he had to tell her. It's the truth after all and the truth was going to keep Liberty from forgiving Caleb and staying on his side. Twice now the truth of all things has gotten Caleb in trouble. "It's true. She kidnapped Vera. Caleb, Lilith and Dakota went in to rescue Vera, Ciara was killed during all of it."

Liberty backed away from James "I...need to think."

"Ciara." Liberty whispers, trying not to cry. She understands many hated her God-daughter but all Liberty could think of was holding her for the first time when Summer and Travis brought her home from the hospital.

Project 2025 is also supported by a coalition of over 100 conservative organizations, many of which have spent years promoting critiques of no-fault divorce as “destructive” for society — or even blaming it for enabling a “culture of death.” According to a Media Matters review, at least 22 Project 2025 advisory board members have made similar comments targeting, restricting, or eliminating no-fault divorce. Additionally, MAGA and far-right media figures have pushed for the removal of no-fault divorce laws across the country, and several local Republican parties in Texas, Nebraska, and Louisiana have called for the dissolution of no-fault divorce in some capacity.

Project 2025 partner organizations, including the American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, Family Research Council, and The Heritage Foundation, have called for significant restrictions or an outright ban on no-fault divorce.

James sees Regulus sitting in the library at a table filled with books and several pieces of parchment. He walks over and sits down beside him, but he startles him and Regulus’ elbow knocks into his ink, spilling it all over the parchment in front of him.

Regulus slowly turns to face James with a murderous glare as the ink seeps into the parchment.  

“I have been working on that essay for two hours.” Regulus seethes through gritted teeth.

“Oops, sorry.” James shrugs nonchalantly and Regulus’ face turns several shades of red and James can practically see steam coming out of his ears. But James discreetly pulls out his wand and vanishes the spilt ink, leaving what Regulus was working on completely unharmed.

He nods his head towards the parchment and Regulus tears his eyes away from James to look back at the table.

“What… how did you… what did…?” Regulus tries to asks.

“I don’t know if you forgot… but you’re a wizard, Regulus.” James leans in to whisper in Regulus’ ear.

“But…”

“So, I thought I could proof your transfiguration essay and you proof my potions?” James says simply, ignoring Regulus’ stunned expression that still holds a bit of his previous anger.

“Fine.” Regulus grits out after a moment, narrowing his eyes at James. “But you also teach me how you vanished the spilt ink without vanishing anything else.” Regulus grumbles as he shoves his transfiguration essay over to James.

James smirks as he passes Regulus his potions essay.

I know it's late to say, but I hope that Hbomb's video will encourage people to not only cite their sources but also have a good source to begin with. Don't tell me Snow White is 14 years old and then show a screenshot of a featured snippet from Google that leads back to Screenrant.com. Don't tell me Judy Garland was forced to take drugs and smoke 80 cigarettes a day by MGM and have your source be social osmosis or "Hundreds of other videos say so!" Where's that info from? Does it's source truly make sense as a source? Are there more reliable routes for sources to take outside of looking online, like reading books about the subject from people involved or seasoned/trusted in the topic? I know "Google is free", but that doesn't mean it's always good for research. Try Google Scholar at least...

In Del Sol Valley, James meets with his informant. He hates the air here, it’s filled with smog and the smell of the famous. The only one he can tolerate in this awful city is Inna Cents but he isn’t here to bug her.

“Jillian is pregnant.” those words ring in his ears until it soaks into his brain. No, this wasn’t in his plans at all. It puts a total wrench in his plans. Curse words fly from his mouth.

The wheels in his mind turn quickly, trying to figure out how this can fit in the grand scheme of things. He can’t blame Dakota for bedding the red head, she is attractive, but this complicates things.

“You’re sure?” James asks, uncharastically grasping at straws.

“I’m sure. She’s starting to show.” His informant tells him. The witch doesn’t want to be there, she hates being James’ informant but she made an agreement, her word is her bond. Plus if she breaks her word, James may kill her or worse – someone she cares about. Still, she hates she’s betraying people. 

James paces around the witch as she turns with him, making sure not to turn her back on him. Smart.

“I suppose I’ll just have to rework my plans.” James bites out in irritation. “You may go.”

~Warning - things get a bit spicy under the cut.

James heads back to Forgotten Hollow, feeling the need to ease his tension and aggravation. He finds his wife, fresh from a bubble bath.

“James?” Liberty questions. He’s in a mood, she can tell. It’s radiating off him like the cologne he wears. 

“Sssh.” James whispers, grabbing her backside. He lifts her as if she weighs nothing and moves them closer to the bed. He quickly removes her clothes, he could do it magically but he doesn’t see the fun in that. 

Liberty really wants to know what’s going on, he hasn’t acted like this in a while. She opens her mouth to speak but he cuts her off.

“You really are beautiful.” James murmurs, taking in her naked form not only with his eyes but with his hands. Liberty decides her questions can wait until later.

BEACH EPISODE HEADCANONS

i've no doubt in my mind that this has already been written somewhere just in a different font but im high off of river water and algae right now so call me freddy mercury the lead singer of hit 70's band Queen because Don't Stop Me Now.

james is the one that organized it and man like lobbied for this okay

he waited MONTHS for everyone to have a day off at the same time and he took it and RAN

and lucky for him, it's the perfect day. it's a sunny, hot day in the middle of august, the clouds are simply beautiful, but it's still nice and sunny like i mean perfect

don't ask how, i don't know, but i think it would be really funny if james drove a minivan. mom drives a minivan and he picks everyone up

peter has to be shotgun because he gets mad carsick

james also tries so fucking hard to bring snacks for everyone but he forgets that sirius is allergic to nuts and half of the food he brings has nuts in it

just hear me out okay i think it would be really funny if big bad sirius black was allergic to peanuts

sirius would also be the one to dress the most unconventional for the beach and then whine about being uncomfortable the entire time.

remus and peter are certified Staying on the Beach™ boys. peter because he's scared of the sea and remus because he's still got cuts that are healing and he'd really rather not literally put salt on an open wound

sirius also burns like paper and is too stubborn to put on sunscreen

remus likes finding stones to skip, though

if there's a dock or something james is jumping off of it without hesitation

he gets into a diving competition with sirius to see who can make the biggest splash which ends when they jump into each other while diving into the water

peter would fall asleep in the sun and they would all absolutely bury him up to his neck in sand

they pester remus for bringing a fucking book to the beach

i mean this so sincerely and honestly with the most love and adoration in mind but the way james potter turns into a fucking 5 year old boy at the beach is insane

"guys watch me do a flip", "look, i can do a hand-stand in the water", "dude that wave was totally a shark fin", "do you think if i drank an entire redbull i could swim across the atlantic?", "i can totally see the coast of canada from here

james and sirius definitely have yet another competition to see who can hold their breath for longer.

on at least one occasion remus has to drag sirius out of the water because he might as well be fucking drowning and remus is the only one who has first aid training

the drive home is silent because everyone's asleep except for james who now realized it would have been way easier to just use magic transport and is now suffering the consequences of his own actions
