At the local library in Windenburg, Asa is sitting down for a brief meeting with James. Soon they'd be traveling to James' secret place to do another round of experiments to try to find the cure to vampirism.

"Have you ever considered what will actually happen if-" he was cut off by James' pointed look so he corrected himself "-when it works? Will I rapidly age and die? Or will my body just pick up where I left off as a human?"

James stares at the vampire across from him for a bit before speaking "Given there hasn't been a cure before, I don't know. But you'll be cured, won't you?" James asks him. He really doesn't know what will happen. Both outcomes are fully possible. 

Asa nods his head slightly. Yes, either way he would be free from being a vampire. A small part of him hopes the first option is what happens. He really doesn't wish to start over but he hopes someone like Annalise can. So the bigger part - that is the part that hopes his body will simply start from where it left off. Then Annalise can have a chance to be human again too.

James excuses himself to step outside.

Before he even has a chance to ask, his informant is doing her job of giving him information. "Jillian and Denise are planning a baby shower for Slade."

James shrugs, he figured that would eventually happen. He hadn't seen Jillian since he took her to the hospital or spoken to her, outside of her texting him a thank you and him not responding to it. He'd be lying if he said he didn't somewhat miss their talks about literature.

"It's going to be held at Denise and Garrett's house." 

James raises an eyebrow. He wonders if Dakota will tell Jillian just who her parent's house used to belong to. "Good job, kitten."

The witch has to stop herself from making a face of disgust. She hates being James' informant. This isn't something she willingly signed up for but she and James had made a bargain. He fulfilled his end and she has to fulfill her end, otherwise he'll most likely undo his spell. She doesn't want to think about what would happen if he does. Still, she feels guilty. She likes Dakota and Jillian. Joey has claimed a soft spot in her heart. She hopes soon James will be done with having her spy on them and she can move forward with her life and the man she made a bargain with James for.

January 18 - Part 1

It had been a while since James had heard anything out of his little spy he had placed around Dakota and his group, so he decided to summon her to the library in Windenburg. Neither of them live there so they would be just two random people, having a conversation - plus he could browse the books afterwards.

"Anything new to tell me?" He asks the witch. It had been late October when they last met in person. He had gotten sparse texts here and there since then but that was it. 

"Jillian loves the book you gave her. She's read it three times already." The witch supplies. The fact that James had visited and given Jillian a book still puzzles her. 

James feels a small twitch in his lips. He wants to smile slightly at that but doesn't allow himself too. He knew Jillian would love the book but that isn't what he wants to know about. "Anything else?"

"She hasn't told Dakota about your visit." She continues, which has worried her a bit. It could cause issues. Which is maybe what James' game plan is? She isn't sure. 

This gives James pause. "Interesting." he comments. He's also surprised Joey hadn't opened his mouth and disclosed his visit to Dakota but maybe the older brother doesn't want to cause problems between the two love birds. 

The witch stands there, silent. She knows she should tell James that Joey has been mentioning to Jillian that James seems familiar - why, the witch doesn't know - but she doesn't say anything. She's afraid it will put Joey in danger if she does. She knows she's risking possibly herself and the man she loves but Joey has been so good to her, she can't bring herself to endanger him.

"How is the pregnancy going?" He asks because during his visit, Jillian had a "twinge" as she described it. The baby could end up being a warlock - of a strong bloodline to boot - that could be useful down the road. That's what James tells himself. 

"As expected. She did call her Doctor and tell him about a pain she had the other day. She's going in for an appointment tomorrow." She hates spying. She hates it. This isn't who she wants to be.

James nods, satisfied with the report. "You may go, kitten."
